Finally, stopping at Leesport Diner. They've been here for awhile. Might've eaten here once before, before I started Yelping. Very busy diner, right on a major artery here in our little town. Which begs the question "Is it so busy here because of its location or because the food is good?". I'm inclined to say 'both'. Nice, shiny, inviting exterior. When you come in, you're greeted by a host dressed in a tie. All of the management are also in ties. The kitchen staff seem to have their own uniforms. The place is clean. The people here are nice (even on this rainy day). Very nice ambience... A good buzz right now. Behind me right now and also in front of me management is actually cleaning tables because there are guests waiting. Cleaning the floor underneath the tables. This is unheard of, especially at a diner. Servers/Bussers are both pleasant and professional. EVERYONE is working! I love it! Okay onto the FOOD: I ordered the Crabby Benedict & a side of corned-beef hash and my wife ordered stuffed pumpkin pancakes. The crabby they use seems to be a mix of jumbo lump and claw meat. The hollandaise sauce was tasty. The eggs were poached perfectly. The hashbrowns were crispy and the corned-beef hash had lots of flavor and seasoned nicely. The stuffed pumpkin pancakes were giant, light, moist and stuffed with whipped cream cheese. Yum! My wife so graciously shared them with me. In summary, at least today, this diner is on point. 4 1/2 stars. Looks like we found a new diner! Definitely recommend! Sorry, no pictures to add because I started eating too quickly!! lol read more

It's a 24 hour diner that offers a selection of breakfast menu items all day along with a assortment of other sandwiches. I happened to visit real late and ordered a strawberry milkshake, tuna melt sandwich and peanut butter cheesecake. The sandwich comes with soup. The waitress that waited on us was kind. The atmosphere of this diner is awesome. The physical appearance is very clean and adorably decorated. I noticed the walls were decorated with pieces of art that were made strictly of utensils- so cute! The service was amazing. I ended up leaving a $6 tip for a $10 meal. The workers are super friendly and make sure to make you feel welcome. They check in often and our waitress definitely went out of her way to give us the best meal. My friend and I each ordered Italian dishes and she came to us later on in the meal with toasted garlic bread which we didn't even know the meal came with! She told us how usually the garlic bread is usually forgotten about, but made the the kitchen did it and even apologized for it being late! Haha for all we knew it was free extras that we had no idea about The salad bar has a large array of choices and even includes shrimp! Totally unexpected. Also they have a lot of different types of dressing and an awesome fruit salad at the end too! Best sausage gravy with eggs home fries and sausage links are soooo good. 6/16/2019 Went last night for dinner, we usually only go here for breakfast. My wife got a patty melt and I got a seafood combo of fried scallops, crab cake, a piece of haddock and shrimp. First off she asked for medium and it was past well done. All of the fish was over done as well. The scallops were tough, the shrimp were chewy, haddock was dry and the crab cake was just crap. On top of that the tartar sauce sucked, they give you this little tiny container a little bigger than a coffee creamer you get in a gas station. I have had this at other places and never had this so poorly done. We'll still come for breakfast but nothing else, there are other diners a little out of our way that we'll go to instead. I have been to this diner maybe 4 times. Everytime I order I get breakfast which was ok. I mean it edible but not fantastic like other diners I've been. They do give good size breakfast portions. This time i decided to order souvlaki a Greek meal that is in their menu. When I tell u that the portion size was about a half cup of rice with half a grilled chicken breast on it accompanied with less than fresh tomatoes and iceberg lettuce. Oh and also 4 pita triangles. I have this meal several times at other diners and restaurants and let just stay they should stick to breakfast. Disappointing but hey at least there is a Rutters across the street I can grab some food there read more

My advice is to keep your coat on because as soon as you are finished eating, literally putting your utensils down, the owner will throw you out. Decided to try out the new, local diner with my girl Kenisha.. Diner? Breakfast? Yes. Definitely an improvement from what this place used to look like, although that's not really saying much now is it? As you walk in, they try to give that old times flare but really I just wanted to eat all the desserts on display.. I didn't. Gotta watch this figure. Maybe I'll stop by for my next cheat meal. The interior is spacious enough, although the 1/2 booths (You know where one person gets a chair because your friend swooped in on the booth side) where we were seated were a little close, but it wasn't a huge issue for me. The hosts were very friendly and the one, I believe his name was Josh, grabbed us drinks immediately upon sitting. So the center of attention.. The food. Honestly the options are kind of small, they could definitely use some more variety. I always have to have eggs and pancakes for breakfast. I just love me some eggs and fluffy pancakes. Well these weren't fluffy. Or particularly flavorful. Basically your typical diner pancake that probably comes out of a box. The bloobs saved them at least. The omelette was pretty tasty, however it could've been bigger. Wasn't a fan of the wheat toast either, just a plain not really wheat toast kind of deal. Overall I felt the portions were on the small side, and I mean with all these muscles I need to eat right? Met a customer at this diner because it is where he wanted to go. I have no faith in the fact that this is not going to be a good meal but I remained optimistic. Was it a good meal? It was horrible... Here's what I ordered grilled breast of chicken over a bed of greens I'm thinking you can't mess that up, right? Guess what! You can if you're The Leesport Diner so the salad dressing was horrid some sort of Greek dressing, brown lettuce and a few slices of cucumber. Very scant on the amount of lettuce in a bowl and certainly not a full breast of chicken but just chicken breast pieces. My customer ordered a chicken wrap with fries. They put lettuce in the chicken wrap and then heat it up... That yields hot lettuce!!! Yuck. The poor guy was so hungry he had to order dessert. Chocolate fudge cake looked delicious he liked it but he said it was exceptionally sweet. Coffee was good, waitress was a bit of a chatterbox and plenty of parking! OMG will someone please open a decent restaurant in Reading PA? read more

They are sneaky add 15 percent gratuity and don't tell customers. They even add it to takeout that I pick up. Not right. I asked to have it removed and they will not, so I will not be eating somewhere that they tell me how much to tip. This place is new but that's about all the nice things I can say. The owner is by far the most ignorant person I've ever encountered in my life. He walks around staring at the customers and yelling at the entire staff. When you can't hear him yelling at the waitress's in the front you can hear him screaming the staff in the kitchen. He adds drinks to your check that you never received. Let me be more clear, if you bring in something to add to your water he'll charge you for a drink. If you ask for a takeout container he'll charge you for it. The food is mediocre at best but my advice would be to check your receipt for all the extra add one that most people would overlook. They are always in a hurry to chase you out the door as soon as you get your dinner. They rush the food it's often not cooked properly or hot and the toast is never toasted. The only flies I've seen in Berkshire county reside in this diner, they are everywhere and there is a foul Oder of sewage that you can smell not only when you park in the lot but is stronger inside. Also pay in cash, if you pay by credit card be aware his system has a way of charging you multiple times or greater amounts than what greed upon. The last time I was there I had to wait for silverware to be cleaned to stir my coffee that I waited 10 minutes for someone to finish their coffee so that I could have my cup. Last but not least he has burned through more staff in the short period of time than McDonald's has served burgers so now his kids work there and there are ages 3-8 years. I'll be going to crossroads or dee dee's where the food is better without the hostile 3rd word country environment!!!!! read more

The facade of a typical American diner is pretty appropriate for this place, it's a relatively generic diner on the side of the road. I stopped in for breakfast and while there was a fair amount of people waiting, we were seated pretty quick. Our waitress seemed to have a lot of tables and asked our drink orders while I was trying to take my coat off (I understand she had a lot of people to help but I could have used a minute.) The coffee was good and seemed pretty fresh, but my breakfast left something to be desired. I ordered the biscuits with sausage gravy which was comparable to something I'd find at the grocery store, I just didn't love the flavor. While the other people in my party seemed happy with their eggs Benedict, I'm not sure I'd get my dish again. If you want cheap diner food, this place should do the trick. read more

We were meeting people at this restaurant every week since they opened from Covid. Today, I found a flying insect in under my second crab cake. I had eaten the first one And began to eat the second when I saw it. Immediately the waitress apologized and took my plate. She came back and apologized. What a gorgeous local diner that reinvents itself for the modern age! This is precisely the kind of cool town place that you see on television like Twin Peaks. Stopped to visit it for breakfast with my parents, and we all had a great experience here. The food was reasonably priced and plentiful, the waitstaff were friendly, the diner was renovated last year into a gorgeous gray-hued interior, and the deserts were huge (as they should be for a diner). To me, diner food is standard fare kind boring--as I'm used to spicier, chain-restaurant type meals. The Leesport definitely has quite a breadth of food on its menu for any hour of the day. You really come to these places to patronize the hometown establishments, and for a nice atmosphere with people that you know--which is probably the most interesting purpose of diners. But I mean heck, $6 for a full western omelette breakfast (sticking with the free water)? Of course I'm a big-city guy and used to big-city prices, so I'm a bit biased on price. I could see myself coming here rather often for meals, if I lived in this neck of the woods. There is plenty of parking on the outside, around the diner, for about any amount of people that may be tried to eat here during the peak breakfast/lunch/dinner hours. And it's super-easy to find, right at the intersection of Routes 61 & 73. Great experience - there is a lot to love about the Leesport Diner! First things first. I'm really glad that a local establishment rose out of the ashes and became bright, shiny and new. I had eaten here (breakfast) when I was still living in NY and going to the Leesport Craft Show back in the 90's, what a dump! Now that it had been remodeled I really wanted to see if the food was as impressive as the remodel. Alas, it was not. I've been back on several occasions to give it a fair shake but just can't get past the fact that the plates that I've sampled for dinner are just bland and unappealing. I know this is a diner and fully expected "diner fare" but there was just something missing. The bacon cheeseburger wasn't anything to write home about and was served on a plate that was just a little too big for the portion. That left one with an "eye appeal" that something was missing, and there was ... flavor! The chicken guacamole wrap was served "pannini style" which rendered the guacamole utterly flavorless. Not to mention that I was really in the mood for just a cold wrap. The roasted red peppers (both pieces) tasted "jarred". Definitely not a good item to order. However, on the bright side of things, the breakfast menu, food and service was above par. Quick, hot and full of flavor, the western omelette with cheese was served up with non-greasy hash browns and perfectly toasted wheat bread with butter & jelly. The coffee was hot, bold, not overpowering, just a really good cup of Joe. Hopefully they'll get it together for their items later in the day and get the flavor wheels rolling. This was our first visit to Leesport Diner and it did not disappoint. From the moment that we walked in the door we were made to feel very welcome and received great service. Our waitress, Sierra, was very nice and on top of everything. The salad bar/soup were delicious in addition to our meals. The atmosphere was very friendly and down-to-earth. The diner is extremely clean and the employees really hustle. This will not be our last time dining here and I would recommend it if you are in the area. We sat at the diner counter & were promptly provided with coffee & menus. The coffee was pretty good, but the speed with which our orders came out was impressive! I had eggs, bacon, toast & home fries & the closest thing I have to a complaint is that I like a large hot sauce variety, I believe I had the Chipotle Tabasco sauce, I think, it's hard to recall 2 weeks in the past nowadays lol My dad went from oatmeal to ordering essentially the same meal as me after eating his oats lol so much for that healthy breakfast pops!
