Came for happy hour and wasn't disappointed. The inside was super chill, nice and quiet. The service itself wasn't bad but started off slow. We ordered spicy edamame and shishito peppers and they were very generous with the portions. The edamame was really good but the shishito peppers were unremarkable, kinda plain... the takoyaki balls were more dough than octopus The sushi was okay, we just weren't a big fan of the spicy salmon. We paid 65 after tax for a lot of food honestly. I would give it a second chance for happy hour or maybe even dinner time. ~JJPH
I came here on Tuesday evening with a friend for dinner around 6 PM. There was plenty of seating. It was happy hour which I presume made the food and drink a bit cheaper, but it did not seem that significant for me. I got the California roll, the tuna roll and the shrimp tempura roll as well as the Gyoza, seaweed salad and karage. The fried chicken was the best the sea salad, gyoza, and the sushi rolls were OK. Not bad, but not amazing. They were acceptable. I just expected more quality from a restaurant setting. I was visiting Aurora to see a friend so I don't know if this would be considered great for the Neighborhood.
Saturday date night and luckily this place wasn't packed. Unfortunately, even though it wasn't full the attention from the server was lacking. And the menu doesn't list everything, like the roll I got, did not mention it had spicy mayo and unfortunately I was not able to eat mine. Additionally, the surf and turf included scallions which my husband had to remove from his roll. I suggest asking for everything included in the meals if you have certain things you don't eat, because the menu won't list all ingredients. Last thing I noticed too is the tip percentages is estimates on the bill is like $2 more than what it really is, pretty dishonest of the business to be doing that to its customers. Idk that I'll be back.
Wow Wow WOW!!! 5 Stars, this place is amazing. Listen, if you want fresh sushi, with a large selection of it. This is the move!!! I don't really want to write a whole review of it, everyone's already done that. You should go, trust me.
I was craving some unagi and this place truly DELIVERED. My partner and I have been looking for a good yakitori / sushi / Japanese place in Colorado, and this really hit all all the spots. The karaage was super tender with a delicious mayo to accompany it. The yakitori is super tender, juicy, and the portion sizes are bigger than what I'm used to. The sushi was delicious, but pretty standard. I thought there were unagi rice bowls, but maybe that's a dinner item...? Regardless, I will be back for more. The service was super fast, and it was unexpectedly not crowded for a Saturday at lunch. We literally got in, got our food, paid, and left in 30 minutes. I appreciate that the Happy Hour menu is throughout the weekend too, and it let us have a sampling of everything! Also, the smooth jazz in the background with the clean decorations make for a very clean interior. Everything here was great.
Wow, what a pleasant surprise! We were starving after shopping at Epic Mountain Sports and this was close by. The ambiance here is a vibe! Super friendly service and they do happy hour on the weekends, what?! Yes. We ordered miso soup, yakitori, potato croquettes, shrimp tempura and plenty of sushi- everything was fresh and delicious! The tempura reminded us of our time in Japan! Will be back!
My husband had dined here about a year ago to try out sushi restaurants before we moved to Denver (I am a sushi fiend) and had said great things about it. We finally were able to dine in together and overall we had a great experience here. I had seen Leezakaya mentioned a few times on Instagram and was wary that it would be on par with the overhyped good vibes but mediocre food restaurants but I was proven wrong. I like that they have happy hour 11am-6pm Fri-Sat. We arrived around 5pm on a Saturday and were seated right away. We ordered the lamb and fish ball yakitori from the HH menu. I have never seen a fish ball so large. And it was a little smokey too. We also got several nigiri. I appreciated the excellent fish to rice ratio. My favorite was the aburi salmon. The special sushi was the otoro and it was very fatty and melt in your mouth. We also got the pork cutlet bento box. I had never had a pork cutlet with cheese inside it. I thought the meat was a little thin so the cheese might have been used for some filling? I enjoyed the shredded cabbage in the salad, edamame, and the CA rolls + 2 pieces of nigiri (tuna and salmon). Our miso soup did not come with the bento sadly. We also ordered the Jalapeño Hamachi. This dish normally comes out first when we order it at restaurants and after the bento had arrived, this still was not out. I asked the server about this and said if it was not ordered, it can be cancelled as we were quite full. She checked with the kitchen and said the chef forgot to put it in and it would be out. I was quite full at this point and did not want to waste it and ate it and it was very good. The cuts of hamachi were thick and the sauce was yummy. I did enjoy my first experience at Leezakaya however I wish that the jalapeño hamachi was brought out on time and that the miso soup came out with the bento box.
If I'm gonna say what was the overall gem of this place, it was CAROLINE!!!! amazing waitress!! Went above and beyond !!! Wow wow wow !!! 10/10 Love the vibe of this place , very eccentric in a positive way .. super unique and modern ... love the place The food was delicious ... nothing bad to say about the food or the drinks ... everything was good ... will be coming back for sure !!!! I want to try more things on the menu ... But overall what we had was all amazing Great job thank you !!
Ok I have to give them five stars because they sponsored the Korean Chuseok festival and allowed people to use their restrooms. How generous of them. My friend and I went inside to simply check out the restaurant. It's beautiful and elegant. The associates by the front were amazingly friendly and nice. The food I saw on other diner's tables looked good. I'm going to have to go back to eat here.
In town visiting my brother and sushi is always on our agenda. He mentioned he had been to this place once before and it was pretty good. We both realized pretty good is an understatement, this place was Great! The sushi was fresh and delicious (we are kind of California sushi snobs so we were pleasantly surprised). Our indicators on the fresh sushi were the octopus and sweet shrimp, both were perfect. We ordered several rolls for the table including the Diablo Roll and Wagyu Roll. They both were excellent. Had my niece with us and by the amount of sushi she consumed this place was teenager approved as well Tuesday-Thursday they do Happy Hour all day and they have a ton to choose from and the prices are great. Since there were 4 of us we shared a ton. The spicy edamame was my favorite. We also tried miso soup and vegetable tempura (which was perfectly crispy). Only thing I wouldn't get again was the Shishito peppers. They needed some seasoning of some sort. The ambiance is super cute and chill and our server was great. Definitely would come back again and I know my brother will be frequenting especially cause of the great Happy Hour.
First new restaurant of 2025! Plenty of parking, clean restaurant, and front of house staff was very attentive! Love that they work as a team. Also great that they have the service button like some Korean restaurants have. Ordered quite a few different things from hot and cold appetizers, nigiri, rolls, and an entree. First dish that came out was the mentaiko creamy pasta and it was so flavorful. I could eat a full portion of that. Then two skewers, lamb and kurobuta sausage. Both juicy and nice char. Next was two rolls, negi toro and lemon roll. The rolls were outstanding if you want something simple and then tangy/refreshing. Toro uni wrap came out after and probably my favorite bite of the night. Fatty, tender, and briney! Hamachi Kama was a nice change of pace. Hot, perfectly cooked, and ponzu sauce was solid. Ordered about 6 different types of nigiri, most were good but I surprisingly liked everything else better. Fresh water eel, scallop, red snapper, hamachi, o toro, and mackerel. Will definitely be back again and maybe come for happy hour one day!
Went here at 4PM on a Friday, which was during happy hour. The restaurant was pretty empty, so it was quiet. I'm a huge fan of dim lighting, which this place has. Our server was David and he was great. Attentive, didn't make us feel rushed, and professional. We got 3 appetizers and 5 rolls which came out to $100, which isn't bad at all. So I would definitely recommend going during Happy Hour. The sushi wasn't the best that I've ever had, but it was good and satisfied my craving for sushi. Yummy food, and I would come here again.
Delicious food. The bento box was a lot of food. Too much for me. We packed up most of it and took it to go. The dining environment was relaxing and pleasant. The waitress was very nice and helpful. We got full from the appetizers but they were good. Next time we will share the bento box.

Great new spot! I think this has to be a intro review and will re-up when I visit again. Came with some friends on a soft opening night. Things are definitely still a work in progress. Items were not available and menus were in short supply. However, the staff was so pleasant! They were so friendly and wanted feedback, positive or negative. The manager came by many times to also explain the vision and make sure we were all good. You can tell everyone wants you to have a great time. All the food we got was delicious! No complaints at all. Plus, the restaurant has such a great vibe and even had a DJ present. Would love to go back when they are in full swing. read more

This place just opened up and I already know it's gonna be a hot spot! It's very nice inside that has an upscale ambiance and very cool decor. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The food was great! We got appetizer, sushi, and dessert. (See pics). If you're looking for lower prices you may want to go elsewhere in area as this place is more pricey than other places around. However, I think this place is well worth it and I think we need more upscale places around this area. read more
If you're hunting for the best happy hour deals, you need to check out Leezakaya in Aurora. I'm a regular here mainly because their happy hour, which runs from 4-6 PM, is unbeatable in terms of both price and selection. The chicken yakitori sticks are a must-try. Each order comes with two generously sized sticks that are just delicious. Honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the happy hour menu, but the shrimp tempura deserves a special mention. It's possibly the best tempura I've had--light, crispy, and not at all greasy. Plus, the portions are the same as during dinner, which is a pleasant surprise compared to other places that scale down their happy hour servings. The ambiance is just right. They've remodeled the interior, giving it a true izakaya feel with lots of wood and art that adds to the vibe. There's plenty of parking, and while it can get busy, I've never had trouble snagging a table during happy hour. For dinner, though, you might want to consider a reservation just to be safe. Service here is solid. The staff are good at what they do--nothing over the top, but they get the job done efficiently and with a smile. All in all, Leezakaya is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to enjoy a great happy hour. Highly recommend checking them out! read more

We've come back to Leezakaya a few times trying a few different bento boxes for a large and filling meal. I've tried both the miso cod and the pork cutlet proteins and haven't found one I'm really happy with yet. My partner has tried the chicken teriyaki and loves it. I've found the cod and the cutlet just not hitting for my flavor palette. Everything else that comes with the bento is great and I've enjoyed the miso, sushi, tempura, salad and rice. We've finally sat in all three portions of the location and they're all fun and interesting in different ways. We will certainly be back to try some more items on the menu! read more

Very cute Japanese restaurant in Aurora. The vibes were trendy and beautiful. We got a 10 person private table and I loved the sizing of the table. I personally hate when there isn't enough room for the guests and the food and Leezakaya did not disappoint. We made it for happy hour which was had pretty decent offerings of sushi, nigiri, sides, drinks and more. I will say most of the portions were decent. The pork belly and king mushroom on sticks were delicious but definitely order one per person. Especially the mushroom, very thin small strips on a stick. Otherwise the sushi was good. We also had the sashimi platter and the uni pasta which were quite delicious. The uni pasta is very creamy and had good seasoning. The sashimi was also decent, there was one fish that wasn't as fresh as the others but still solid offerings. We really loved the cod. The hamachi collar was okay, a little overcooked. Would love to go back for a nice date night as well. read more

Can't praise this place enough! Walking in you feel the ambiance surround you immediately. The service was on point, knowledgeable of the menu and drinks. We ordered the Kiro Sour and Lychee Fresh, both started the dinner off nicely. We started with Jalapeño Bomb which is a half jalapeño pepper, stuffed with cream cheese and tempura battered, when we go back, this will be ordered AGAIN! We then had the Waygu Roll, Firecracker Roll and Crunchy XXX Roll, all were so delicious and filling! Definitely a place that you'll enjoy from start to finish! read more

Sat at the bar and had a fantastic experience. The sushi chefs were friendly and a joy to watch their skill. The vibe of this place is unlike any other sushi place in CO. Unique and hip. Would be a perfect place to take a date or meet with a group of friends. The sushi was delicious and incredibly fresh. Great happy hour prices as well. I'll be coming back!!! read more

Came on a Friday night, on it had to wait about 15 minutes for a party of 3. Atmosphere is nice and cozy. Service was incredibly attentive. Food was absolutely amazing. Came here for dinner with my fiance. The aesthetics were beautiful with a wood and moody atmosphere. We sat close to the sushi chefs and got to experience a waiter who was knowledgeable about the menu. We wanted to try a little of everything. We ordered a white fish truffle appetizer which was amazing with the sauce that was drizzled on top. Next we ordered the soft shell crab, pork belly skewers, eel nigiri, tamago nigiri, and tuna nigiri. For the actual entree we ordered the scallop pasta and it was so creamy and delicious. Holy! Leezakaya is a must if you're in the aurora area. Came in for a date night, and the ambiance of this restaurant is beautiful and they have a huge bar and screen! We wanted to sample varies dishes and ordered a plethora that probably could have fed 4 ppl. The dishes that really stood out were the uni pasta, uni wrapped with toro, squid, pork belly, and shrimp skewers! The waygu roll is a miss for me since it was like a vegetarian roll with a thin slice of waygu. For the cost of the waygu roll, it's not worth it. Overall the prices here are reasonable and they have a great selection of sake! If you're not much of a sake drinker, not to worry, they have great cocktails too! read more

Was looking for new places to try by my friends new house. Found this place on Yelp-5 min from him. Services was pretty slow, seemed like one server on only at 6pm on a Tuesday. Had happy hour all day which was awesome bonus. We did jalapeño hamachi x2 because it was delicious. and lots of others - total game out to $120 each for both of us. Wasn't happy about the oysters-super fishy and large, seemed like West coast for sure. Nigri was amazing - tuna,eel,salmon,yellowtail is what we had. Wanted to try a bit of everything. Food was great minus oysters. Had lychee fresh drink and had it half sweet and delicious. Would go here again. Art work and ambience was my favorite! read more

Have a happy hour there to celebrate a special day. The food was so delicious. Tofu, salmon sushi, chicken skewer, and tempura were great. Edamame was a bit overcooked but the spicy level was a spot on. The matcha tiramisu was creamy and big portion, but couldn't really taste the matcha flavor. The service was excellent. All the waitresses were welcoming and professional. Nice environment and comfortable seats. Definitely recommend it read more

I took my boyfriend here for his birthday dinner and it was amazing! Service was wonderful our server was Rich and he was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu. It was our first time here so we asked for some recommendations and he did not let us down. The Japanese Old Fashioned was the smoothest old fashioned I have ever had. The Almond Cream went down very smoothly and the Black Tuxedo was great as well. The uni spoon with the quail egg was a flavor bomb! Highly recommend!!! The chocolate mousse was very decadent and very delightful. The white tuna truffle was very nice and buttery. My absolute favorite was the jalapeño Hamachi it had just the right amount of spice and the little bits of cilantro that they added definitely set it off!!! Can't wait to go again! read more

Hope this location Can stick around for a while. Ample space and lovely decor! Very friendly staff and all around tasty menu items! Though it was pretty chilly inside, we had a great time! No objections at all. This will for sure be a go-to restaurant from here on out read more
