This hidden gem is tucked away in an area dominated by office buildings and pre-fab warehouses. Not where you would think to find a modern, clean brewery with a pretty great selection of beers and of course the comfort food you would come to expect at a place like this. There are many different IPAs, porters, and other types of beer to choose from at this location. In addition to many of the "standard" Left Coast brews, they offer several limited release "brewer's choice" beers that I must say are quite tasty. If you're feeling adventurous, you can order a six-flight sampler, with several different beers. Although the sample size glasses look small, be warned that by the end of the sixth one, you will probably be experiencing the effects of alcohol! Food-wise, everything I saw that people ordered looked great and smelled heavenly. I'm looking forward to trying out some options on my next visit, which will hopefully be pretty soon. I'm from San Clemente and know the craft breweries in the city very well but this Left Coast has migrated a bit north to Irvine only to include some food with your brews. Left Coast is more or less the brewery we've generally avoided over the years mostly for the reason that the majority of the brews I've had from them simply have not been that great which I always thought was kinda sad as they were the first brewery in the city. When my friend told me that this had opened next to her I said it's not that great so your really not missing out much just go to a better brewery a bit farther away as you will enjoy it a bit more than what can be found here but on one given random day we gave in and came here. Beer wise it was all about the Blonde Tropix as it had just what sounded good for the time being and I must say wile still not the best it was definitely better than some of the other brews I've had from them so either way at least this was drinkable. So for food let me start off by saying all three BBQ sauces on the table tasted horrible I did not enjoy anything about them the only one that was tolerable was the OG which I would later discover that the sauce served with the fried pickles would be this mixed with ranch. The fries and fried pickles were both decent and I must say the food was better than the beer but that's not saying much as both were average which is also the reason it kept us from buying anything else to eat as we just weren't into it. One of the best parts of the night was us finding the Smart Ass game and playing it after a few drinks as it was literally that stupid fun thing u need with a few drinks! Overall ok food beer still needs some work I really doubt I'll ever drink one of their brews again or ever wanna come here so it's a roll of the dice if you do too! read more

This is the best bartending staff I've ever been served by. They are cohesive and knowledgeable. They go the extra mile to provide the personal touch you expect from your local brewery. The food is amazing and reasonably priced. I always get the turkey burger. I like hanging out here so much that even when I don't feel like drinking, I come in and drink two or three hop waters. They are delicious! Especially the new itinerary, which has Idaho 7 hops. The location is super convenient and the tasting room is huge and has it an outdoor patio where dogs areallowed.. No matter what mixed drink you ordered they all tasted the same. Same with the shots. The food was mid but the Mac n cheese was terrible! The good thing was that the drinks always got the job done and got us buzzed but taste could be better. Now for the staff, most of them were the biggest a-holes imaginable. My favorite local brewery- Left Coast has bomb craft beers on tap, bottled ready for you to take home. We love their Asylum, various stouts & hard seltzer. We also love their food- namely the Reuben which comes on super delish marbled rye bread with fat steak fries- which I can't help but order a side of every time I go. Be sure to stop by to watch your favorite sports game (except for PPV), grab a bite & enjoy your drink. I've eaten here before (dine in) and enjoyed the environment. I like sitting on the patio and they have a good selection of beer however, this time I ordered in person to go. My first concern was there were no napkins or utensils given in the to go bag. Not a big deal but just a little frustrating. The mac & cheese I ordered was delicious. The loaded fries I ordered comes with fries and onion rings however, they neglected to put the onion rings in the dish so that was disappointing. The packaging for the loaded fries was covered in what appeared to be coffee grounds. I called and they said it was likely burnt bread crumbs. Regardless, it made a mess all over me, the other dishes and my kitchen floors. The flavor of the chili and the burnt bites was nothing special. I would not order again. I've been waiting for months for this location to open ever since it was announced. My work office used to be just around the corner, so it was refreshing to have a brewery so close for lunch options or just to grab a beer after work. There were several delays and I experienced a few let downs, but it finally opened and I rounded up the work peeps to see the buzz. The first time through was within its first month, so service was bound to have a few kinks. The front had two cashiers to take down food orders, but the bar accepted drink tabs only. The lines were very long, but luckily, the food came out within a reasonable time. I tried the Mac Daddy - mac n cheese with pulled pork and bacon I think. It was smoky with generous amounts of pork, so it was very filling and heavy. I packed up about half, so I think it's great to share too. The last time I went, it was a whole lot smoother. Both bar and cash registers were open to take orders - food & beer, so it was quite efficient. I tried the Asylum and it nearly knocked me off my feet, but sooo good. It paired nicely with my brisket salad, which had a decent portion for a salad. My coworker had the garbanzo salad last time and it was just a few leaves, so this bowl was pretty solid. If I come back to the this location in the near future, I'd be down to try out their beer flight. It's priced a little differently and you can rack up a bill pending your choices, but I may find something new to look forward to. Until next time! read more

Saw that this place finally opened and had to stop by ... twice, the first time I left because it was too packed (duh 6pm on a Friday)... came back on Saturday around 2pm which was more manageable by the time I left around 4pm it definitely cleared out. I tried a flight of beers, my fav were the blonde, una mas, and del maIr. Food wise, I wanted to really try the pulled pork but they ran out. My friends and I would go here every other Friday and loved it but now they have live music & it's just too loud. There's no reason to have loud music in such a small place. Everyone was trying to stay in the room toward the back to escape the volume but it was still hard to have any conversation without yelling. We won't be going back. Left Coast brings much needed brews and bbq to an area devoid of either, however there are some clear kinks it needs to work out to nail their niche. I've been excitedly following the opening of the irvine location since it's insanely close to my work and would make the perfect afterhours watering hole. When I heard that it officially opened I made my way down there right away, and only 30 mins after opening they were completely packed. That's a good sign! The menu was packed full of enticing bbq options from 75-hour beef brisket, burnt ends, cornbread, mac. The beer selection is the core left coast brews with a sprinkling of seasonals and specialties. I ordered a 1/4 lb plate of brisket with cornbread and fries, which took about 25 minutes to come out. It's the first day, so I expect the speed here to get faster over time. The brisket was fresh, flavorful, but lacking any juiciness. The fries were so fresh with the perfect texture, but this time there was just no flavor here. I didn't even get a sauce or see any place I could grab some sauces. The cornbread came in its own iron skillet and was probably the best overall piece of the meal. They give you a helping amount of it with a nice bit of honey butter, though I wish there was more honey and butter in the bread itself. I had to order a flight separately at the bar, and was a bit surprised when I was handed six tasters without any indication that it was a flight of six pre-determined beers which was a bit of a bummer. Definitely would have liked to know that beforehand. It was a cheap flight though, for six core beers it was $12. There was another flight for their specialties which she indicated would probably have been more. The beer itself was a bit disappointing too, tasting a little below what I've had from left coast in the past. But this place has just opened and it's full of potential. I'm hoping with a little time they can work out the kinks and make something really great for themselves here in Irvine. read more

Miguel was great this evening. Suggested a tasty Una Mas - Mexican Lager and even came home with a 4 pack of Blood Orange IPA cans for my brother. Lefty's is the best Irvine brewery, distillery, meatery... man these guys just do it all. Mac Daddy is the easy street to happiness, and the strawberry skinny Marg is the hit too. Tasty beers, and solid BBQ! For lack of other interesting spots like this in Irvine, Left Coast doesn't disappoint. There's a great variety of fresh craft beer on tap. In addition, this is also a distillery, and they have craft cocktails available. Left Coast Brewing started in San Clemente, back in 2004. They opened the Irvine location in July 2018, and the build out has a healthy amount of space to spread out. This is an excellent spot to get a group together. My wife and I stopped in here on Tuesday to try their very reasonably priced Taco Tuesday special. Two tacos and a 16 oz. craft brew for $9.99. First, the good news: the beer we had, Trestles, an India Pale Ale, was great. The ambience of the brewpub was buzzy and pleasant. The staff were nice. The carne asada tacos, however, had really tough beef. I probably should have returned them but didn't. Unfortunately, it was the taste of those tacos that I remember even though the beer was really good. I'd give this place another try as the beer and ambience was good. Came in around 7:45pm on a Friday night & it was completely packed. Despite having a large open indoor area as well as a patio area, there really isn't that many seats overall for the whole brewery. Took us about 20-30 minutes to finally cop a seat for 5 of us. It wasn't too bad since we had wait to drop something off for someone nearby, but to the average group this wait time might be a little much. There's also private room which was reserved at the time we were there. Food: given how long it took for us to find a seat, we weren't sure if we would ever come back a second time, so each of us pretty much just got one of everything on the BBQ menu. Each plate varies between $12-18 & comes with the meat, toast, as well as 2 sides; a pretty decent amount of food which makes it a pretty good deal. There's also 4 types of BBQ sauce in the condiments section which is a nice variety. Beers: they have a pretty sizeable selection. I'm more of a sour/fruit kinda person so I was a little disappointed with their lack of. I ordered the I'd recommend going with the flight just to see which ones you might like the most. Overall, if you can overlook the long wait time and/or are lucky enough to grab a table for a group, this neat little brewery has a lot of decent food & beer options for a chill night to relax. read more

Glad to see another brewery open up in Orange County near home! Visited Left Coast Brewing on a Friday night and it was full, but not overly packed. We waited a few minutes for a table inside. We ordered the burnt ends, fried pickles, chili, and a burger - they were all phenomenal! Left Coast also has a pretty large selection of beers on tap and cocktails (they are also a distillery). Great spot to visit if not everyone in your group is a beer drinker as there is something for everyone! They also have a private room for private events. This is a nice place to chill and relax and imbibe in liquid fermented with hops to produce ethanol. They have BBQ that can satisfy the strongest herb-induced Kansas City bbq craving.
