My 2 stars are for the wait. I picked up food about a month ago after a LONG day of work. I was hoping to grab something quick and head home. NO! I was there about 45 mins. I kept watching the area where the food appears and the young lady continuing to take orders while food was waiting. I finally walked up and asked if my order was ready. Sure enough it was. She did offer a free soda but I don't drink soda. The food was delish. I ordered plain fried with egg, a chicken st paul, and the chicken egg roll. I was disappointed in the size of the egg roll for the price. You can only package so much meat and veggies in such a small egg roll. I MAY try them again but the wait is a HUGE deterrent. read more

I had the VooDoo fried rice and there is nothing negative to say. It was cooked perfectly with lots of meat! Seasoning was on point. I usually add sweet & sour sauce but this fried rice did not need it. Marvin provided courteous, attentive and prompt service to everyone who came in. The ambiance was on point with the R&B and Neo-soul. All I needed was my couch and a little dranky drank and the vibe would be complete. It was great anyhow. Their Voodoo rice is delicious! I like the fact that their rice is as brown as it was back in the day in the other restaurants and that the rice didnt need any extra condiments added to it. It had just enough spice, didnt need extra soy sauce, and the prices are exactly what they say they are. Their regular St. Paul sandwiches are big! In other Asian restaurants, they have prices listed, but when they ring up your order, the prices are more, even with the menus they give you. Plus, Lefty's delivers through doordash and has a website you can order from, unlike other Asian establishments, wich is a huge plus. I plan on getting my rice fix here from now on. I was already on the phone and was hung up on, still wanting the food I call back and was told over the phone orders on hold after only being open for 30 min. I tell the lady I was already on hold to place an order after finding out argumentatively I was someone she already talk to she still didn't take my order. After STILL wanting the food I go online to order first pick up time is not until 2:40pm current 11:40 am and STILL WANTING the food I come into the store to get it. Very disappointed on my 1st visit to this establishment. For starters, I tried to place an order online and it kept asking for my name and the transaction would not take online. That should have been the 1st indicator that this was probably not a good idea to order. I called and asked about the Orange Chicken, the lady said do you want a combo plate? I asked well how else you can get it and she explained to me that I don't have to get the combo plate which had both rice and noodles. I toId the lady, I wanted rice and that I don't need both. I go to pick my order up and get back to my office only to have a large order of Orange Chicken with no fried rice?? I was so confused, so when I called to see where my rice was, I was given a explanation that I would need to order separately, that is not what I discussed on the phone with Carissa, nor did the website state this. I stressed that I only wanted rice. When I called, she just acted like it was no big deal as if she did not mess my order up. Had a nice experience with Lefty's. I ordered the Hot Braised Chicken for myself and the Chicken lo mein for my mom. I enjoyed my dish! The crab rangoon was amazing! I would be back to try another dish that Lefty's has to offer! My mom kn thought the noodles were ok, her only comments was the large broccoli pieces in the lo mein. Let me first say that the food is good but I've never experienced customer service like this no where in the world. My order was made wrong as mistakes happen and I thought I was ordering one thing but I said something else. Mistake completely on me and when I spoke to the owner about it, he went into fix it mode. Good, greasy, and dark fried rice, with much flavor. The style that St. Louis is known for. The chicken wings are delicious too! I also appreciated the available portion sizes of gravy. You can choose your size vs getting one size that doesn't fit all. The small/half size is just right for a half order box of rice. Staff was friendly and kind, an anomaly in this business.
