We asked the server if we should get pepperoni or sausage pizza, and he far and away recommended sausage. They apparently go to a special place in Chicago to get it. And it was so good! I'm drooling now just thinking about the pizza. Don't bother with the Caesar salad... It's a small place, so be aware of that if you take a large party. It was a nice day when we went, so we were able to sit on the sidewalk, thankfully. The server was really cool in the beginning, but we were then forgotten about for long periods of time. I came here on a very cold wintery windy night with my husband and there was only a table in front of the door, other than that, our service and food were great. The owner used to work at Pequod's or Burt's (both similar styles) and he made the crust slightly thinner. But the same great fresh ingredients. I have had the pan pizza and the thin crust and like them both a lot. It's the crispiness I'm after and they have it! First timer with extremely high expectations. Having eaten pizza for a long time all over from Due's, UNO's, Pequods, Gullivers and even Papa Dels. Lefty's is the new king of pizza. Our server, George, self proclaimed right arm to lefty made us feel at home from the moment we sat down. I wanted to see what the thin crust was like since my pizza habit has added to my waistline. Hi lefty's please read this coming from a long time lefts customer. Please consider going back to a REAL delivery driver. SLICE SUCKS. Today's driver is 45 minutes late, the pizza was warm at best. The driver was friendly but did not even address the fact she was 45 minutes late. TERRIBLE customer service. Friday night, ordered pizza on phone told to pick it up in an hour. Drive there to be told it's another 30 minutes. Why wouldn't you call to let us know?? "Don't know what to tell ya, we're busy. Come back in 30". Have tried this place 3 times and won't be back. Customer service is an issue each time. This is our favorite pizza place on the North Shore. The thin crust is so, so, so yummy! Think Lou Malnati's thin crust, but better (buttery, biscuity, not dry and matzo-y like some places.) The toppings are fresh and good quality, and the people are so friendly. There is absolutely no reason to get Domino's if you live anywhere around here and can pop in to Lefty's! I picked up a pizza at Lefty's on Friday night. I went in to pay with my credit card and was astonished to see no one wearing a mask inside. The two people in the kitchen, the person who took my credit card and gave me my pizza, and the 5 guys hanging out inside the restaurant all were without masks. Wilmette has a number of forgettable pizza places. Leftys isn't one of them. Earlier today my wife told me Wilmette had a new pizza place, so naturally I ordered two pizzas and a side of cheese curds within the hour. I swung over to pick up my pizza and the place was quite busy. A good sign. I ordered one pan pizza and one thin specifically because I wanted to try out the range of pizza Leftys had to offer. They were both good, but the pan pizza was the one that stood out. If you are going to order just one pizza, go for the pan. I'm a pretty serious pizza eater and even make my own pizza, down to my own dough and sauce, but I don't always have the time for that, so it's great to find a new place. I'm quite glad that leftys makes a good pan pizza, since this is something lacking in Wilmette. Napolita, another pizza place in Wilmette, and located just down the street, offers a very different Napolitan style pizza, so I see the two as complimentary, and not really competing to offer the same thing. After so many awesome reviews (Chg Tribune...Red Eye) our friend suggested we check it out So upon our arrival yesterday we realized it was more of a take out delivery as opposed to EAT IN..so their dining area was par or below But...because we backed our bet and drove from the city we were set on stayin and makin the best So (Righty NOT lefty) greeted us EXTREMELY nicely and we small talked ..he brought us plastic cups with ice (because we called and were told you COULD BYOB)..he mentioned a small cork fee..all good Then our 3 rd party arrived and now ready to order I ordered a chopped salad that was awesome..the server David didn't realize that was my entree and I was going to wait till the pizza arrived for the guys So..we were fine with that..we ordered an EXTRA LARGE PAN PIZZA with pepperoni..onions and mushrooms...we'll done..in the interim Righty came by and told us how good the wings are and assured if we ordered them they'd arrive BEORE the pizza But..unfortunately that didn't happen..they arrived AFTER and we weren't happy They made ANOTHER mistake by bringing us a large pizza instead of extra large and unhappily didn't like us returning the wings..but..said..we'd be getting a small pizza to compensate...also forgot the onions on the pizza Anyway..LEFTY came over and was ANGRY AS ANGRY COULD BE..HE SAID "what's the problem here "...we proceeded to tell him and he threw his arms up in the air and said "what do you want"???..he didn't want to hear what happened and rudely told us "no charge" My partner didn't like the way he spoke to us...he abruptly got up from the table to talk to Lefty..Lefty said..."all you people want is a FREE meal"..which was NEVER our intention So..beware of this place and their inhospitable approaches and tempers read more

I ordered pizza tonight. They delivered a sausage pizza instead of the vegetarian that I ordered. When I called, they said they would send a replacement within 45 minutes. An hour and a half later (and two and a half hours after I had placed my original order), the replacement pizza arrived -- and it was a sausage pizza yet again. When I called, they were completely unapologetic and just stated that the delivery driver must have picked up the wrong order twice. So, I love their pizza, but won't be ordering again due to my experience there last night. There is a sign on the door outside to wait and someone will come to help you. I waited a bit outside and observed all but one employee behind the counter and preparing food without masks or with the mask under their chin. THEN....a teen male employee with his mask around his chin, blew his nose while working the counter and proceeded to wipe his runny nose on his hand twice. ....never washing his hands and then handing my pizza box to the older man who was helping me at the door. There should be no surprise that I declined my pizza and told the older man why. There was no apology....he merely opens the door and yelled in "hey..... (teen boys name), put your mask up. How about go wash your hands and then the counter he touched with his snotty hands. Just couldn't stomach eating the pizza after I saw this......hope this behavior improves. First try. Speed and accuracy were excellent. The got the caramelized crust right on the Pan. The dough was eh. Generic tasting. To much cheese, but that is a taste thing. The thin pizza had a ton of cheese. Made it hard to To tell how much toppings were on it. I had thin garlic, green pepper and onion. As far as I can tell it was light on toppings and way heavy on cheese. I have no idea If there was garlic. Couldn't tell one way or the other. Thin had generic taste. Price was not bad. Growing up in Chicago, when it comes to food, pan/deep pizza is my religion. I can say with great confidence that Lefty's Pizza is going to become a favorite among pizza connoisseurs. Without a doubt, they know how to make chewy and crispy dough, ultra fresh tomato sauce, put just the right amount of tasty cheese and bake it to perfection. This is not a cookie cutter deep dish joint. It is unique and high quality. I will most definitely go back to try the thin crust and have high hopes. BTW, even on a busy Thursday night, service was fast. George was quick to get our drinks out. Watching him wait on other tables, I could see how well he was able to orchestrate not only fast service, but he also sincerely wanted to make sure everyone was taken care of. This is by far the best pizza in the North Shore! The sauce is so flavorful but not over saturated throughout the pizza! (Which most a Chicago style pizzas do). True, worthwhile Chicago stop! I can say, this is my favorite thin crust pizza, and I typically prefer thicker crusts. It is crispy and absolutely tasty. The menu is simple and straightforward, and management is helpful and welcoming. I've so far stopped in twice, traveling in from the suburbs to eat here, even bringing family the second time. OMG The best pizza ever! OK, so I'm old, but 35 years ago I loved a place called old town Pizza on Armitage near Fremont. I've been searching for good pizza ever since... and I'm not a patient person, but I had no choice! The sausage, fresh mushrooms, garlic, sauce and crust were awesome. In my quest, somethings always wrong with one of those ingredients. For instance Lou Malnati's Pizza, great butter crust, but horrible sausage... No flavor. My son, who is a self-professed foodie and chef, fell in love with Lefty's too. Funny that I only ordered from them because he's a south paw. Haha. My highest recommendations for this place!
