This space is truly beautiful. The outdoor area is dreamy and well covered for significant shade in the Charleston heat and they have an indoor/outdoor bar. We got a variety of cocktails and enjoyed each one. For food we got both salads, the crispy polenta and the tortellini. Everything was beautifully plated but the portion size was very, very small for the price point. The salads were our two favorite bites but ultimately were $17 for smaller salads without a protein. The majority of cocktails are $18 which is more on par for a rooftop than just a pretty space off King. The polenta and tortellini both were okay. The tortellini sounded phenomenal on paper but it ate very dry and heavy with the puff pastry around it. I think the flavors are there but the dish will ultimately be reworked. And again, a very small portion for $31. I do think there are some kinks being worked out which is to be expected with any new space. I really wish the best for this space because there is so much potential. read more

WOW! This is my favorite meal in Charleston to date. From the beautiful garden we were sitting in to the cafe of the staff I have zero complaints! We started our meal with the whipped ricotta, 5/5-the sautéed zucchini with the ricotta was the perfect mix of salty with creamy. Our family got a mix of the entres but I got the crab pasta dish, and the spicy but tangy flavors were stunning. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the crab was extremely tender. As someone who grew up in a full Italian household it's been hard to find my favorite local Italian restaurant. This may be it! Cannot wait to go back! Great experience here. Lovely indoor and outdoor dining space. Came to celebrate a birthday and service was amazing. Glasses of champagne for the table and limoncello were great additions to our dining experience on the house. My cocktail of choice was an espresso martini to kick off the late afternoon. We enjoyed delicious burrata with pesto & zucchini, scallops, and focaccia bread to dip everything in. Everyone got something different as far as main entrees but I throughly enjoyed the lobster risotto. Munched on a bit of dessert as well. Our first visit to Legami for a pre Symphony bite. Our seat at a two top table was so close to the other tables our elbows almost touched. We couldn't help but hear all of our neighbors conversation. Has changed for the worse. Menu is strange now. Thinking they have a new chef. And prices jumped like 25-30%. Seemed like all bachelorette and some bachelor party groups. Very loud. Lastly, the music, it's too loud and it sounds like it's trying to be a club instead of a restaurant. Had a great time here. The staff was friendly and efficient and they have a super helpful somalia. Amazing food and pasta, we got the focaccia with butter as an appetizer as well. Scrumptious. Our sever himself was reallyyyy animated. I don't know if that's his bit or what but it was just a little odd. He was attentive and fine just really intense. My party of four came to Legami on Friday (3/20) on a whim after our reservation at another restaurant fell through and they couldn't accommodate us. Just 20 minutes before arriving, my boyfriend had proposed to me, and we still wanted a place to celebrate. We were walking around and spotted Legami, and decided to take a chance on it. They were able to seat us despite not having a reservation. From the moment we walked in, the hostess was incredibly welcoming. The atmosphere on the second floor felt warm, cozy, and comfortable. It was exactly what we needed for such a special night. Our waiter (I wish I could remember his name, all I know is he had a mustache) was fantastic and gave us great recommendations throughout the evening. We shared the burrata to start. My mother-in-law and I had the Tortellini Wagyu, my now fiancé had the Sachetti, and our friend ordered the Pollo Alla Milanese. For dessert, we had the tiramisu and crème brûlée. I had the Shhh! Club Above cocktail, my fiancé had the Legami Martini (which I also tasted), and we all enjoyed the Masca Del Tacco "Piano Chiuso", which the sommelier recommended. Everything, including the limoncello, was absolutely perfect. The portions were on the smaller side but surprisingly filling. The drinks were excellent, and even though I typically don't like martinis, I loved this one. It was sweet, slightly spicy, and very smooth without being overpowering. The food and service made an already unforgettable night even more special, without them even knowing the occasion. We're visiting from Jersey, which makes us even more appreciative of how memorable this experience was. We hope to come back in the future. Thank you for such a great dinner! read more

They have inside & outside seating; and lighting is low for dinner. The crudo of the day is easily shareable with great flavor and the pieces of fish are cut thick. The filet mignon is a big chunk and could also be shared as well- it's an interesting take on a Wellington. The raspberry tiramisu was the dessert I picked to finish my meal. I felt like other than the raspberry sauce on top- the raspberry flavor didn't come through as strong and I was mostly eating cream. I would give this restaurant a 3.5/5. Their dishes are unique and something new. Perfect for some apps and drinks. It is on the pricier side so I expected everything to be perfect. My favorite things we had was focaccia with njuda and ricotta spread, and the cappalletti pasta. I think the pasta portion could have been a little larger for the price. The raspberry tiramisu felt like it was missing something. The fresh raspberries were delicious but I think would be better with a raspberry coffee soak. The seafood dishes to me were a little overpowered by a more fishy taste. Everything came out warm and the service was great. With A lot of Italian restaurants to compete with in downtown charleston, if this place really hones in on their dishes it could definitely be an amazing spot. Had reservations and not many people were here 9/10 seats were open and they had us sit down. We had the specialty drinks that included the shhhh club above, the kings smoke, martini and elephant in the rye. I had the Octopus and this incredible homemade pasta stuffed with leeks in a mushroom Ragu--fabulous The rest of our crew got the restaurant week special that was equally delicious --scallop ceviche, tagliatelle bolognese, and beef cheek over a leek puree' -- SO good!! But the best was our amazing server -- Naomi She was kind, friendly, had great recommendations and extremely helpful throughout the night. I absolutely loved her enthusiasm for the restaurant! Our waitress was fantastic, and what truly set the night apart was having the chef personally visit our table with members of his staff to talk through each course. I could tell the restaurant was trying to do the right thing, but unfortunately, things went wrong almost immediately and never really recovered. We waited about 20 minutes for our first round of drinks, and when they finally came out, they were both wrong. After we reordered, the next drinks took just as long -- and one came out with tequila instead of vodka. At that point, it was clear the service staff wasn't paying attention. The real problem came when my dining companion, who is celiac, ordered the scallop crudo. It turned out that the dish contained breadcrumbs, which we weren't told. The server decided on her own to replace it with a scallop entrée, but never mentioned the change. My companion assumed it was still the crudo and ended up getting sick. That kind of mix-up isn't just bad service -- it's dangerous. When the entrées arrived, the meal continued to disappoint. The pasta was bland and poorly cooked -- something I could easily make better at home. I've worked as a chef for eight years, and it was clear that the execution and attention to detail in the kitchen were lacking. The appetizers were fine, but the entrées completely missed the mark. To their credit, the restaurant did comp one drink and one entrée, and I appreciate that. But given everything that went wrong -- the long waits, wrong drinks, lack of communication, and a serious allergy mistake -- it wasn't nearly enough to make up for the experience. The staff seemed to mean well, but the service was disorganized, the food uneven, and the overall night was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've had in a long time. I truly hope they learn from it, because with some attention to detail and better communication, this place could be much better than it was that night. I would also like to add I am never the person to write a review like this. I never send back a stake that is a little bit overcooked or complain whatsoever. But this was an incredibly disappointing night and I feel that I have to share what was wrong with it. read more

The atmosphere is great but the service is what makes Legami a real gem! Managers are constantly checking in and our waitress Via was knowledgeable, funny and so personable. The drinks and shared plates (burrata, beef tartare, octopus and hamachi) were all delicious and large portions to share. We had the ravioli and ragu and both were absolutely delicious. As someone who has frequented Rome often, the ragu was very Roman tasting and made me miss one of my favorite cities. We started with their caviar service, the Italian White Sturgeon - it is buttery and very good. We also started with the Beef Tartare and Braised Octopus. For entrees, we got the Pappardelle Al Ragu and the Lobster Risotto. Normally when you think of Italian you think huge portions, but these are not they give you enough food without you feeling over stuffed. We ended with their gelato, which was Pineapple and something else I can't remember - it was arguably the best gelato I've ever had. I couldn't stop eating it! Hey guys... I'm so excited to have been able to go to this restaurant the second week if it's opening... Immediately upon walking in we were greeted smiles and warmth. We had a reservation for two at 545 and we had an option of where we'd like to sit, which was pretty awesome we chose the enclosed upstairs deck. It is temperature controlled... So got the chance to basically walk through the whole restaurant on the way, very impressed with the aesthetic and decor, literally not one expense was spared here. And it shows...Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! I also like that there is bathrooms on the main level and the second level. They definitely utilize the space beautifully and you could tell that things were running very efficiently even the second week. There is a large main bar on the first level. There is a smaller bar on the second level, but I think that's great that they utilize that space there's small seats for people to just have drinks while they're waiting for their table, there's bar seating where you can dine and have drinks... There is tons of dining room space both downstairs and upstairs. Now to the food... Food was amazing. I really can't complain much about it. I did give it a 9 out of 10 foodwise though because I did notice that some things maybe were a little over salted but I also think that these are just the kinks that will be worked out in time. I do feel like our courses were rushed. We had four different courses, but I also understand that they were definitely running on a schedule because they have reservations to satisfy so they don't want people going too slowly especially us just being a two top. I would guess they gave us an hour and a half dining time. Other than that I wanna go back and I wanna get all different things and I was thoroughly impressed. We attended on their first week of opening so this review should come with a grain of salt. Hopefully they've improved! The ambiance is absolutely a 10/10. I would recommend sitting at the bar upstairs or downstairs for a drink, but even their cocktail menu was not what I was looking for. Service was average, our serve seemed like she didn't want to be there. Was not excited to give us recommendations when she asked. The back servers were excellent at keeping our waters full though! Disappointed. I was excited to try Legami. I had a reservation for 4 and at the last minute had to change it to 2. I'm so glad that happened because I would've been embarrassed to bring guests. We were seated in a completely empty room that it seemed that most managers and servers used to hang out before getting busy. The bread was the highlight of the meal. Everything else just lacked something, mainly heat. All of our dishes were served tepid at best and quickly cooled to straight up cold. Our server didn't offer any suggestions and was reluctant to describe anything when asked. We were rushed to order which is odd because the place was empty. Because of the rush we were in and out in 80 minutes, not by choice. When the food was delivered to our table it was placed on the opposite side from where we were sitting. We had to move glassware and slide our food across the table. There were so many managers or supervisors walking around and no one said hello or asked about our experience.
