I had a donut crave this one day which happens like once a year or two. I had to have a buttermilk bar or an oldfashined so after 2 failed attempts with Old Fashioned Donuts and Connie's Donuts (didn't like them at all), I was quite pleased to see donuts that looked much more appetizing and fresh. The Legend of Fifi and her doughnut is true. She gobbled that giant up like no other and left no traces behind. For $3, it was hella worth it. Maybe I was already conditioned before even eating it that I knew it was gonna be a legendary doughnut. The dough was soft and chewy. The frosting was the best part as it was not overly sweet and the right amount of consistency. Everything about the 6 inch diameter doughnut was lovely. I'm just gonna say it, it is BETTER than Voodoo and your average one. They have creative flavors and funky names to go with it. Oprah? Homer? Leonardo? Sex in the city? King Kong? I love coming to this place you really get your money's worth. I like the fact that the donuts are oversized. I got the snickers cronut donut and a couple of maple bars. I can tell right away with the 1st bite that they use fresh ingredients. The Crow not was phenomenal. I could of ate the whole box which only consists of 4 but considering the size of the donuts and it would be all bad later in the day if I decide to devour all 4. Now those were amazing both in terms of variety, flavors, and also the taste of the donuts themselves. Legendary has great variety and unique combinations, but the donuts fell down in texture and flavor. Maybe it's the size. These are huge! In any case, none of the raised varieties matched my expectations for flavor or freshness. Nothing can beat a melt in the mouth perfectly fresh raised donut. I didn't get that feeling here. The cake donuts were a bit better, but yet again I've had much better. They were on the dense, heavy side. We also tried one cream filled donut. I was pretty disappointed. Good... but not quite there... wish I could give them a 3.5. It's pretty clear these guys are trying to bring the unique doughnut craze introduced to the PNW by Voodoo Doughnuts, and while they are close... they're not quite there. Call me a doughnut snob, but between the texture of the doughnuts and their overall sweetness, there just wasn't a good balance like with Pao's Doughnuts a few streets over. They were all too sweet... the kind of sweetness where they taste incredible the first 3-4 bites, but then you get tired of them after that because of the sweetness. Maybe you can finish them in 3-4 bites to enjoy them? I'll leave that up to you. Also unlike certain doughnut shops, I was disappointed that their doughnuts become tough the next day. I know doughnuts are meant to be fresh, but sometimes you overdo it and buy a dozen, and eating a dozen doughnuts in a day among 2 people a sugar overload. I would've liked to enjoy them the next day, especially since I don't come by the shop often. I will give them points for creativity, since they have some unique flavors. My favorite was the Reeses Peanut Butter one and the Blueberry Pancake doughnut. I'd recommend eating the Reeses Peanut Butter doughnuts the day you buy them, as the filling gets hard when they're a day old. The Bourbon Chocolate doughnut was very interesting... you can definitely taste the bourbon in it, which I can't decide if it's a good or bad thing in the early morning. XD I also think it's cool they make a pretzel doughnut shaped like a pretzel! I'm still going to stick to Pao's for my doughnut crave - yeah they have generic flavors but they're good and cheap. Legendary Doughnut can be a little overpriced since some will run you $3.50 + over, which kind of makes sense since it's a specialty doughnut shop. Seems expensive you're used ot buying a $1.50 doughnut from Pao's or a coconut stick from Sly's. I'll come here if I want something different, and maybe when Seahawks season starts I'll start my morning with a few Wilson's. At least they're WAAAAAAY better than Psycho Doughnuts in the Bay Area (another Voodoo rip off), so just for that I'm rounding this review up to 4 stars instead of 3. =P read more

The day I was moving into my new house, I stopped here to pick up a few doughnuts so that the carb and sugar fueled haze could keep me going. They were amazing. I had honestly gone for the cannoli, which I still have only been able to find here. They also have some dog friendly cookies which my dog appreciated. I've been back a few times now and they never have the flavors I want. It might be that they've cut back for COVID or maybe I like less popular flavors. I'm not sure. I know I've gone on Saturdays every time and the last few have all been very much in the "miss" category for what I want. I think this place is roughly like voodoo. Another big mistake.. the bavarian cream.. the cream was LUMPY, separated, not creamy. I'm sure they are aware of it but don't care to address it. Not recommended.. at all. We definitely only go to Legendary for the doughnuts. We have had multiple visits to this location in Tacoma and every time we have had just bad service. All the employees just look unhappy with their job again NO MATTER what time of day we've gone. The employees ALWAYS seem to be bothered that customers are present. This is the second Legendary Donuts shop I've been to. Same amazing variety of donuts and other baked goods! And of course they had an eclectic selection- from your usual glazed raised donuts and maple bars to salted caramel pull aparts, baby shark donuts, their signature croissant/donut hybrids and more! I got a glazed tiger tale (I've had better at other places), a baby shark donut (fun and tasty!), a jam pull apart (think lots of glazed donut holes all together but then topped with goopy/not great jam), a Sex in the City (chocolate old fashioned, glazed and topped with chocolate frosting and then caramel- awesome), and an oreo donut (chocolate cake glazed, topped with chocolate frosting and crushed oreos, topped with cream cheese frosting and more oreos).
