PB&J, Rasberry Pull Apart, Filled Doughnut Balls, Ice Cream Sundae Donut
Benjamin M.

I'm starting my journey of finding the best donuts in the Tacoma area, and I was very curious to try Legendary Donuts. I stopped in about 830am on a Wednesday and there were only a few people in line and a wide variety of donuts available, there was only one person working the counter and she was very helpful in answering any questions we had about the donuts. The donuts themselves were a very mixed bag, with some tasting a lot more fresh than others. The PB&J (stuffed) and Raspberry Pull Apart were both very tasty and relatively fresh. I can't say the same about the Ice Cream Sundae donut, which looked great, but the donut itself was very dry and a bit stale. The mini filled donuts were just ok, and not pictured but we also tried a strawberry frosting donut which I thought was overly sweet. Overall, I think its a decent donut shop, but I will look elsewhere in my search for the very best donuts in Tacoma.

Apple Fritter
Brenda S.

The lady working was very rude and not friendly at all and they were out of napkins??? Didn't even have paper towels? The snickers donut was good, the apple fritter was tasteless and EXTREMELY greasy, definitely needs more apple and cinnamon in them. what really got me was the sign that said they don't take cash they only take credit cards and then they charge you a trans transaction fee. Do your self a favor and skip this place and go to one of the other several donut shops in the area

Blueberry fritter

I can't say I'll get this again. Tasted mostly of fried dough. The sweetness is uneven. I've tried other donuts from this place so I would still recommend the business I just wouldn't recommend this donut.

Selection

I'm surprised by some of the reviews because I popped in here unexpectedly on a Friday afternoon. Donuts were well stocked and all I wanted was a coffee. The barista was super nice, and the latte was REALLY good!! The smell of the donuts were so un-resistible that I had to peek at them. I saw the BIGGEST maple bar I've ever seen in the glass. My husband is a sucker for maple bars, so I picked him up one. When I gave it to him, he ate it in record time. He said it was one of the best maple bars he's ever had - and that's saying something. Cheers to the barista she was super friendly and helpful!

Really 3.5. Excellent selection but frankly the donuts were on the dry side and the flavor wasn't as good as the other shops I've been too. However, I gave them 3 stars as they do have a large selection of some very creative donuts. There were no cake donuts on my visit. Parking: street

Decent tasting donuts that are large. Would have been nice if there were sprinkles on the chocolate bar. Good selection of donuts

Boozy balls

I always come here for the boozy ball doughnuts. I think they are by far the best. They typically don't have any made at 6am but Jean was nice enough to make me some. They really should always staff 2 in the mornings because it can get super busy and sometimes the employees get overwhelmed. Also had the creme brûlée doughnuts but it didn't have the hard surface like they usually do. That's why I'm knocking off a star. Overall consistent establishment.

I love a good donut and Legendary Doughnuts definitely delivers! I've been here several times and just realized I've never written a review, but after this most recent visit had two of my favorite donuts ever from Legendary. I'll start by saying the size of the donuts are pretty big and can be shared with 1-2 others, especially if you buy a few different flavors to try. Also, the prices are extremely reasonable. I got the Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter and the Raspberry Pull Apart. The chocolate chip peanut butter is a raised ring topped with chocolate, peanut butter cream, and chocolate chips... everything about this donut was spot on from the peanut butter cream on top to the light and fluffy texture of the donut itself. Next, the raspberry pull apart was really good - the dough was light and the raspberry jelly was tart (could've used more jelly on top). The employees are always friendly and provide great customer service and the donuts are amazing!

So many options!!

We got a small sampler and it lasted us for 2-3 days. The pull apart donuts were amazing. Loved the selection and thank you for taking the time to explain all of the options.

Heaven in a box!

My family does "donut Mondays" and we rarely ever stray from legendary donuts. The selection is amazing and you'll always find new cool flavors. The donuts themselves are massive (hence the donut cut in half). My ABSOLUTE favorite flavor is the creme brûlée donut! They even brûlée them to order. Pure heaven! Plus the staff is super friendly, which is just the icing on the cake (or donut)!

Top is what I received the bottom is what they advertise on door dash. They can not be trusted to deliver quality

I ordered their donut bites for my wedding. They were a massive hit and absolutely perfect. A great alternative to a traditional cake.

Ask the Community - Legendary Doughnuts

Can anyone give me a rough estimate of how much a dozen cost?

All depends on what type of donuts you get. Please keep in mind these are so much better than Krispy Kreme or something like that. I would saw they are in the ball park, not outrageously priced & selections is amazing👍🏼

Do they have vegan doughnuts?

I don't believe so, you might give them a call

Gluten free options?

As far as I know, they don't offer gluten-free doughnuts. At least we've never noticed any. But, since they are very accommodating, and since I could be wrong, you should give them a call and ask.

I know they do not have regular open hours for just walk in purchase, but rather, they're custom order type business, but I have yet to place any custom orders so I cannot speak to that experience. What made me write this review is how accurate the owner (Brianne) described cake and desserts in the description and the baked goods taste matched 200% of the description. The pistachio cake was out of the world, so was the whoopie pie!!! I got to meet Brianne in person and she was very friendly, and was kind to explain everything about each of her baked goods she had out that day. I've tried their baked goods from pop tarts to cookies to housemade Twinkie and the creation and taste are unmatched. Single serve baked goods were more on pricier side, but well worth every bite. I would definitely order custom baked goods from here, knowing the quality and taste of products from this shop!!! Currently, you can find Spilled Butter baked goods at Cosmonaut coffee, Outer Dark Coffee, and at Tacoma Farmers Market (also known as Tacoma Broadway Farmers Market) from time to time. Enjoy!!!

Typically get the jalapeño sausage breakfast sandwich. The bread is super soft, the sausage has a nice flavor, and there isn't too much egg. It also come served warm which makes it yummy. I'm also a bit picky when it comes to coffee and how it's made. Corina does a GREAT cappuccino. It's strong without a bitter taste to it. Also like to get one of their macarons-they never disappoint!

The floral arrangements and product displays were clearly designed with great care. All the items are wrapped in plastic wrap to keep them fresh. The shop is quite spacious, and the interesting paintings on the walls really leave an impression. All of this plays a huge role in building up their customer base. Service: The signage inside is clear, and everyone lines up in an orderly way. The staff is warm and welcoming, and they even asked if I wanted my bread warmed up. The order came out very fast--overall, a great service experience. Taste: I ordered two pastries: an almond croissant and a chocolate croissant. The almond croissant was packed with ingredients, with a thick, rich layer of processed almond filling in the middle. The texture was great--highly recommended! However, the chocolate croissant was a total disaster!!! My first bite was actually satisfying; the chocolate flavor and texture were rich. But on my second bite, I realized... it was underbaked. So disappointing.

So as my go to guide I yelped it! And up popped Kusher Bakery. You know I had to go and today we went there. It's an Eastern European bakery, and grocery store with products from multiple Eastern Europe countries. The selections are very good and then there is the bread baked daily except on Sunday. A bonus is the fact all the fresh baked bread can be sliced for you or you can take it home and slice it yourself. Having this service is great. Dark rye, 12-grain, and others that are....... well too many and all looked delicious. There is fresh baked Lavash, soft and delicious and many of the breads were still warm and fresh. The fresh piroshki! Awesome to say the least, Chicken, Cheese, Cabbage, and Apricot were available and hot. Look you can go to the other market on 70th and get very good stuff and pay quite a lot more, or go to Kusher and get a better selection and pay reasonable prices. Yes it is smaller but bigger is not always better and having this small place is a positive. For me Kusher wins hands down. So go, look around and get some awesome stuff.
