I was hopeful coming to Hoybjerg Family Dentistry after reading so many glowing reviews. I drove over an hour to restart my Invisalign after a tough season of illness, job loss, and relocation. I was quoted over $5,000 -- which I was prepared for -- but when I mentioned a much lower quote from my previous dentist (who I can no longer see), the interest in my case seemed to fade. I wasn't asking for a discount, just a conversation -- some explanation, some willingness to understand the discrepancy. I later confirmed that my previous quote was to restart the case, since the initial Invisalign setup fees had already been paid. So I called Hoybjerg to clarify and asked whether, if they were taking over my case, those initial fees might already be covered. The administrator who originally handled my quote understood and said she'd check with the team and call me right back. That was over three weeks ago. No follow-up. No response. What's most disappointing isn't the pricing -- it's the lack of care. The interaction felt surprisingly transactional and unempathetic. It's not just about being quoted a higher fee; it's the dismissal that seemed to follow when I presented that certain fees were already lodged. I didn't expect special treatment, but I did expect the courtesy of a returned call -- especially after they promised one. For a practice that brands itself as a "family" dentist, I had hoped for more care, more courtesy, and more professionalism. It's a shame. read more

I don't recommend Dr.Hoybjerg. I regret choosing him over another office I was considering. One of the first issues had to do with how much my insurance company said that I should be paying his office and how much they charged me. When I called this office to inquire why my insurance company said I should be paying $150 less, I was told that they filed my claim for braces a "special" way where I would end up paying less. So to make up for that "favor" (which I wasn't aware of nor did I ask for) they charged me their regular rates instead of the insurance-mandated rates - essentially they committed insurance fraud. Ultimately, this orthodontist blows because I left with teeth that I wasn't happy with, and am now getting quoted a 10 month Invisalign plan to attempt to fix it. He left me with a bite occlusion where my top and bottom teeth are hitting. My bottom teeth are still crooked, and have a slant where they go from short to tall. He also did some careless IPR where he angled the abrasive toward the front surface of my teeth, and now there's a dip where food likes to get stuck. One of my biggest regrets was picking this orthodontist. What a complete waste of money. I want to add that this business actually hasn't replied to my other reviews. They seem like they couldn't possibly care any less since they've gotten all the money I was charged for their shoddy work. This response below is the only response I've gotten in regards to my issues with them, and seems like it's just for the public eye to make it seem like they care. ALSO, I was given a 9-12 month estimate for having braces on with them, but even after 16 months they failed to deliver the results I wanted. Dr.Hoybjerg made all these grand plans and remarks about how we were going to straighten my teeth at our consultation. Whenever I brought up my own concerns, he would respond with "yeah". When my treatment started, it's like he didn't recall any of the plans either of us had made and was pretty much like "put on new rubber bands" each time. I had to fight for what I wanted at each appt, and he made me waste my time getting second opinions from dentists and other orthodontists when he didn't want to make a change that I asked for. He is a horrible orthodontist and a horrible guy who only cares about making thousands of dollars per patient and doing the bare minimum, while his sketchy office staff helps him by committing insurance fraud and providing for-show responses to negative Yelp reviews. read more

Dr. Hoybjerg and his staff are always so kind. Dr. Hoybjerg is empathetic and listens carefully to my needs and wants as a patient. I never feel rushed or unheard. The technicians are always friendly and on time. I hardly have to wait at all and if I do it's because they are taking the same genuine care of the patient they're with. Exceptional service from the start. Our first appointment there was a misunderstanding and we had to reschedule. The employees were so accommodating and helpful. Our rescheduled visit was phenomenal. We knew my child needed braces years ago. We went in for a consult, decided on a treatment plan, took care of the financial aspects of things and had top braces on within one hour and 15 minutes. They gave up their lunch to get my daughters braces on because she didn't want to miss a school function. Dr. Hoyjberg is very knowledgeable. I don't feel like he tried to talk us in to any treatment we didn't need. It was all very cut and dry, everything explained in terms we could grasp. I went here a couple years back to get a consultation for braces. When I went up to the front desk to check in, the two women there were having their own personal life conversation and didn't acknowledge me until like 5 minutes later. When I finally got into the room and told the lady who does all the X-rays and photographs my personal information, it turned out that the office (one of the front desk women I talked to make my appointment) had spelt my name incorrectly and wrote the wrong phone number down. Which I kind of already knew because I never received a personal/automated call to remind/confirm the appointment. But she was quick to fix it and apologized for the mistake. She was very friendly and listened to what I had to say. It was going well until Dr. Hoyberg walked in to tell me about my options and plans he had to fix my teeth. He rushed through the whole process and didn't want to hear about my concerns or opinions. He claimed to know what's best for me and walked off to take care of his other patients. I walked out of this consultation feeling like an unworthy person. I'm glad I never got my braces done here. It's important to have a dentist who cares about your opinions and doesn't rush things. THIS OFFICE IS AMAZING! Getting braces was a really big deal for me and I was incredibly nervous. This place from start to finish is full of amazingly friendly faces! Each person I spoke to was very knowledgeable and made me feel very comfortable even though it was my first time here. When I sat down to talk about prices the woman I spoke to not only knew what she was talking about, but gave me honest responses to all of my questions. I didn't feel pushed to get more expensive braces, and when breaking down the prices she went through each option very thoroughly. I was shocked of not only how many options I had, but the amount of different ways you can pay. I felt 100% satisfied with all of the options and was so happy I decided to make this big decision the same day! I have nothing but great things to say about this orthodontist office. The staff is super courteous, Dr. Hoyberg is kind and patient and discusses everything in detail from beginning to end. The staff director helped me figure out a very easy payment plan and made it painless. I love that they have a few local office locations available so we can visit either, making appointments readily available. We had a situation where my son's braces were too painful during one portion of his treatment and we needed to talk to someone over the weekend. The senior staff answered the emergency line and put me in touch with the ortho that was on call over the weekend in under 20 minutes. I have never been happier with a dental office and can't say enough great things about them. I will be using them for my younger son's ortho needs in a few years. I brought my 11 year old son to several orthodontics places for initial exams before calling this place. Other places were either over priced or unprofessional or somewhat arrogant from the moment they answered the phone. The girl who answered the phone here was super friendly and tried her very best help me with scheduling and insurance related matters. We went in for my son's first consultation today and were amazed by the neat and classy looking facility before we even met the doctor. The pricing is very reasonable, wait time was about 10 minutes total. The doctor and his assistant were extremely patient when answering our questions and explaining details of everything. We ended up putting the upper braces on him today, the procedures were fast and professional with lots of tender and care, we could not expect any better than what we experienced today!
