I'm going to admit that a few years ago I was going to check out this place, and I drove by thought it looked like a sketchy area and pivoted plans... recently I gave it a real try, and I'm so happy I did. I'm a sucker for tiki bars, but they can be hit or miss. This one was a hit The exterior doesn't look like much, but the interior is surprisingly spacious and inviting. It's intimately lit, but you can still see all the wonderful tropical decor. The vibe was a mix between tropical pirate bar, dive bar, but with artisanal cocktails and incredible bartenders The menu offers such a variety of tiki/tropical beverages with clever names and fun drink-ware. I was impressed that the drink menu isn't only rum based, but instead there's plenty twists on classic cocktails and they're own specialty drinks The bartenders were a delight. Everyone was professional, attentive, and amazing. Each bartender was obviously skilled in handcrafting exceptional drinks, but they weren't rude, stuffy, pretentious, or unapproachable. We actually enjoyed conversation with a few different bartenders. One even made the wrong drink for someone and swung by our section, dropped it off and said "free drink" before walking away. Another was making my drink in a shark shaped glass, asked if it was mine, then handed me a squeeze bottle of grenadine to shoot ("blood") into the sharks mouth from a distance. This was such a fun experience The drinks were delicious (and strong), the bar was lively, the staff were outstanding, and for the experience... it was all affordable Some tips: There is overflow parking in a gravel lot across the street, but I recommend calling a ride-share as these drinks are STRONG Cheers!!

Do not judge a book by its cover! We showed up and almost left like many new visitors. But there was a line to get in before it opened at 4 so stayed and sooo glade we did! Every drink is art! Bartenders are amazing! It fills up fast so get in before 5.

fantastic customer service, cool and well decorated, this place is a perfect way to cool down on a hot summer day. also has fabulous NA options, will be back to try more!

Amazing I love the environment and it's super chill - the bartenders are friendly and the drinks are fantastic!!! Second photo- I don't know the name of the drink but I wanted to say they light up the cinnamon stick and it emits this amazing aroma?? So yeah- amazing

If Rainforest Cafe had a grown-up, cooler cousin who served expertly crafted tiki drinks and played surf rock under dim lights--it'd be Lei Low. This hidden gem in Houston feels like you've stepped into a tropical dream. From the moment you walk in, the vibe is laid-back, the music is on point, and the drinks? Absolutely next level. Shoutout to Emily behind the bar--she was not only incredibly sweet and helpful but made sure we found the perfect cocktail for our tastes. Her recommendations were spot-on and made the whole experience even more memorable. If you're looking for a fun, immersive spot that's equal parts island getaway and adult playground, Lei Low is where it's at. Can't wait to go back!

Had drinks at Lei Low before a 7pm dinner reservation in the Heights. Location is tucked away and super unassuming. The bar itself felt a little depressing during daylight hours but the decor was cute and they have a wide array of tiki cocktail options. I enjoy that we have a tiki option in Houston but I probably won't be a repeat customer.

What a cool little bar tucked away in the middle of Houston. From the outside, you wouldn't expect much but once you step inside, the vibe is pure fun. Completely decked out in a tiki bar theme. The menu is loaded with original concoctions all with an island theme. Rum is the alcohol of choice, but fear not their bar is fully stacked if room is not your thing. Order the Ooga Ooga for your table and watch the entire bar chant for you when the drink is being delivered right before they set the top of it on fire. The blue Maui was delicious and the oyster diver comes in its own oyster shell with a pearl on the end of it. Don't miss out on this really unique and fun bar if you're looking for someplace cool to hang out at

This hole in the wall was busy and had strong drinks. The decorations were cute!! We shared a huge Halloween special drink and a mai tai.

What a gem of a place in the Heights area! Intimate setting, fabulously crafted drinks and a fun Hawaiian setting. The bartenders are friendly and fast as they whip up some delicious cocktails. We only had a little bit of time to stop in, which meant I was only able to try one cocktail. Highly recommend the Barefoot in the Sand blended drink. The bar is in a tiny strip center. Parking lot is small. Anticipate parking in the street within the neighborhood.

They have the tiki bar aesthetic down! Plus the drinks are strong and creative. I had a cocktail that was a twist on the negroni and was made with cachaca.

There's a reason this tiki bar is on Houston's best tiki bar list. Parking can get tough but it's otherwise easy to find. There are plenty of drink options and different types of seating in the underwater ship themed interior. Based on the two dogs we saw last time, I'd say it's dog friendly (with leash). I got the yellow bird and love the tiki cup it came in! There's not really food here so make sure to have a place to go to after.

Such a fun place! Drinks are great and the atmosphere is everything you expect from a tiki bar. Was pretty busy at 10pm on a saturday, but nothing crazy.

They let people smoke inside here. Gross. Drinks are cheaply made but over priced for what it is. Mid overall.

Yes. Just behind the bar and a coffee shop is a proper parking lot for both establishments.

What is your Wednesday happy hour like?

Wednesday is Happy Hour all night! 6 different drinks for 6 bucks each.

What kind of music do that usually play here?

I've only Heard Island tunes and bob Marley. It's kinda too loud with conversations flowing to enjoy the music on the weekends.

    Is there food?

They have updated to add a few items since Covid including Spam Masubi and a cheese plate from a local cheese shop.

We went here for a friend's birthday on a Thursday. We had reservations for a large group but I don't think it's necessary if you are going solo or as a couple. The staff is really nice and the decor is extravagantly kitschy reminding me of the waiting room in the Beetlejuice movie. Which makes sense given the headshrinker in that movie. The moment Endless Bummer started appearing on my feed, I knew I had to check it out. EB is a hidden tiki bar inside of Betelgeuse Betelgeuse - Montrose. The self proclaimed king of Houston tiki bars and speakeasies and I visited on a Thursday night. We were able to walk in without a reservation. I'm not sure what the capacity is, but the place is small. I'm guessing they can seat about 30 people max. During peak hours, they will limit you to 60 minutes and there's a two drink minimum. When we went, it wasn't at capacity and we were able to stay for a few hours. If you make a reservation online, you have to give your credit card info. It's a $25 charge if you cancel within 24 hours. If you don't want to make a reservation, they recommend visiting on Wednesdays, Thursdays, or Sundays. Ring the doorbell for entry. If they don't answer immediately, it's most likely because the hostess is seating another guest. I can't remember the hostess's name, but she was so nice and a super cool gal. The vibe is really cool, weird, bizarre, and trippy. We received a welcome drink which was some sort of rum tea. One of the bartenders came over and explained the menu. They have a lot of drinks to choose from and each drink has a story. The drinks are very unique and come with a nice presentation. I really enjoyed the Bitter Bird. Some of our friends joined us later on in the evening and the hostess moved us to a larger table. There were more people than we were expecting, but the staff did a great job of accommodating us. We ordered a massive drink meant for 4-6 people and it was boozy. You know you're in for a treat when you visit a place that describes itself as "somewhere between death and vacation." If this is what purgatory is like, I don't ever want to leave.

The team behind the popular restaurant Nobie's opened up this tiki inspired restaurant. Tiki bars happen to be one of my favorite varieties of bars so I was more than excited to finally check it off my list. I had recently seen them on the Food Network as well. They share a lot with another popular dining spot so parking can be a little difficult in their lot. You can find street parking or park across the street in an overflow lot. Customer service was great from start to finish. We had just ate next door and our intentions were to come in here just for cocktails, but I couldn't leave without trying some of the popular items. I wanted the most tropical drink I could find on the menu so I started off with the Blue Hawaiian. I saw fire on the description so my extra self needed to have it. I'm a big rum guy so this drink was right up my alley and very boozy with two types of rum. It was very coconut forward with pineapple being the secondary flavor. One was enough for me to feel just right. Since we had just ate, we decided to share the World Famous Cheeseburger. This was a great burger. I don't know if they were going for the smash effect, but it had smash burger characteristics. It had all my favorite things that are musts on a burger like American cheese and red onions. It also had a very nice chili aioli that added great flavor to the burger. I came on another stop for a drink visit shortly after and tried the pork dumplings and popcorn chicken. These were also very good. If I lived in the area, this place would easily be a place I would frequent often. I will most definitely be back!

After grabbing a drink, I found a seat and waited for bingo to begin. While I was sitting there, I couldn't help but notice that this place seems to have built quite the community of regulars. There were gentle laughs floating around the room, inside jokes being shared, and an overall sense that people genuinely enjoyed spending time there. The lounge is also pet-friendly, which was a fun surprise. Looking around, I noticed a large selection of board games and card games available, along with a pool table tucked toward the back. It definitely feels like a place designed for people to settle in and stay awhile. When bingo started, it was well organized and a lot of fun. The prizes were actually worth winning, too which unfortunately I did not accomplish. Whomp whomp. lol Overall, I enjoyed my visit and can absolutely see why people become regulars here. While I'm not sure it would be a spot I'd frequently visit on my own, I do think it shines as a place to gather a few friends, sip on a drink, play some games, and enjoy a laid-back evening together. If you're looking for high-energy nightlife, this probably isn't it. But if you're looking for good company, cozy vibes, and a community feel, this lounge definitely has its charm.
