I've had two appointments with Dr. Sekimoto after leaving a dental facility that was too large with a front office that was poorly run, and the hygienist wasn't the best. Here it is a different experience, more relaxing, and I'm getting top-notch care. She was so kind, patient, professional, and helpful-what a sweet person I have tried for 4 yrs to see Dr. Sekimoto, but he has such a good reputation and so popular that it was difficult to see him with my work schedule. Third time's the charm! After bad experiences with 2 other dentists in the West Valley, I decided to give Dr. Sekimoto a shot after looking at the few reviews that were available. The gamble paid off. I came in for a routine cleaning/check up. After coming in a little early to get my paperwork done, I was ushered in exactly at my appointment time. Office: Clean and organized, with a cool little fish tank in the waiting room. The room I was in had a huge mural of a forest - very calming. No TV, but the mags they had in the corner kept me occupied. Equipment: I'm certainly no expert, but everything looked new ... but more importantly, it was all clean. Staff: Super friendly! The gal at the front was fast and efficient - she had all of insurance information compiled and on file long before I got there. The hygienist that worked on me (Gisella?) was skilled and experienced. (Hygienists can make all the difference in the world!) Dr. Sekimoto: What a great guy! He introduced himself to me, shook my hand, and asked me a few general questions before getting started. After a thorough inspection and cleaning of the teeth and gums, he asked if I had any issues and addressed them all. What I loved most is that he wasn't a salesman at any point. Just the facts. Once the cleaning was done, he let the hygienist finish up with polishing and flossing. One of the best dentists I've had in 6 years. The swag: Quality Colgate stuff! I truly can't rave about this office enough. I had so much trouble finding a dentist I really trusted in LA. Two separate times, I walked out of appointments feeling like I'd been pressured to spend money on things that weren't necessary/they were exaggerating about how much work needed to be done. I finally asked friends who they recommended and found this office. EVERYONE here is so warm and welcoming. Both Dr. Sekimoto and Dr. Bedrossian are amazing. They pay so much attention to comfort (I mean, if you're a huge baby about the dentist like me, that's 5 stars right there.) And they check in with your insurance and provide a cost estimate, so you'll never end up shocked by a bill at the end. Warning: I had a routine filling done by Dr. Sekimoto. It caused me constant pain until it was repaired by another dentist who called the work "bizarre and upsetting". The 2nd dentist took xrays that revealed an air pocket. Worse, after drilling out the filling he showed me remnant decay that had been left behind with in-mouth photos. This could have resulted in a root canal. Fortunately it didn't come to that. But it did come down to a second unnecessary dental bill to fix the work, plus several return visits to Dr. Sekimoto which did not relieve the pain. (I couldn't chew on one of side of my mouth for months). That said, Dr. Sekimoto was one of the nicest, most accommodating professionals and he did try in earnest to fix the problem. He even took me on short notice. I hate to give bad reviews. But I wish someone would have referred me elsewhere. read more

Dr Sekimoto is great! Okay I will add pics in a little bit, here's the deal - I have had a gap in my front teeth for years, other than a tiny gap I have been fine with my smile shape (the inner workings are another story). Anyhow, I have been to many dentists. Every dentist, has tried to push invisalign on me when I mention my gap. Each time I have been quoted a different amount ( everywhere between $1.5K - $4K ). I pay out of pocket so I don't know what dealing with dental insurance is like, other than cosmetic stuff usually isn't covered anyway. So here's the deal, I've never gotten/financed the braces because my teeth aren't CRAY CRAY. One day a friend showed me that all of her gaps were filled in and her dentist was awesome & totally nice. I made an appointment for a consultation. Well, yesterday was the day of my visit & Dr. Sekimoto was like "Oh filling in the gap? That's easy" And totally did it! I was expecting to pay tons $$$ for that and I didn't. I'm not going to put prices out here because everybody's situation is different but I will say these people aren't sales people. I can't do anything about having been born with cavity-prone teeth. I can do something about who I trust these weak-ass chompers to, though. And after three days of an unending dull-but-throbbing tooth pain during Thanksgiving week, during which time my previous dentist made no effort to squeeze me in prior to the holiday shutdown even though I was heading north for a bay-area vacation immediately after (which would surely be ruined by constant discomfort), I made the emergency call to Dr. Sekimoto the day after Turkey Day that ensures from now on, he is who I will be trusting to rack up a fortune on fixing my teeth. See, I also made that emergency call to my previous dentist, but she didn't call back until I was already at the pharmacy picking up the antibiotics and Vicodin Dr. Sekimoto prescribed me following a partial root canal. Bye bye. Dr. Sekimoto came highly recommended and after postponing his own trip to San Diego for a few hours in order to ease the woes of someone who is not even his patient, I would recommend him without fail. He was personable, his office is sleek and modern, and he took the time to explain the causes and side effects of root canals while we waited for the x-rays. He could have gone the shortcut route of giving me the antibiotics and having me come back for the root canal after the holiday weekend but instead did the first part of the root canal right then. Right now I am floating on a cloud of oblivious happy thanks to that Vicodin, and having Googled scary information about what happens to untreated root canal infections, I can say that having just received a postcard informing me I'm due for a check up, my introduction to Dr. Sekimoto could not have come at a better time, holiday or not. read more

What can I say about Dr. Sekimoto.......he's really good and that is why I keep coming back. I have been coming to Dr. Sekimoto for years since I decided to switch dentist who was shady. I wanted to find a dentist that was close to where I lived, so I searched the web and found that Dr. Sekimoto's old office was literally up the street from me. Perfect! Since then, he has now moved to the heart of Burbank which is a little out of the way for me. Part of me wanted to find a new dentist since it seemed inconvenient for me to drive to Burbank, but what can I say? Dr. Sekimoto and his staff are really good. I have not had any bad experiences since I've been coming here. Dr. Sekimoto takes his time providing a thorough examination and he knows what he is doing. Many people fear going to the dentist since it is strongly associated with pain, however, fear not if you have Dr. Sekimoto at your service. Also, he doesn't give you crap about trying to up-sale services that you may need when you really don't. Trust me. I have seen a few shady dentist in the past that have done that. Shady. So SHADY! His honesty and integrity is another reason why I keep coming back. His hours are flexible and there is parking in the back or on the street. I think I've found my dentist! I've gone to a few dentist in the last 5 years. One that was bare-boned, one that was close to home, another that was top of the line (and over the top, not to mention took NO insurance policies)... and after likening each dentist's chair to the beds that Goldilocks chose over - I found Dr. Sekimoto's practice through Yelp! They're in my insurance network, and everyone is the right balance of helpful and kind. Dr. Sekimoto provided fast dental work that was not at all painful and advised me on some concerns I have with my teeth. So far I've had no problems making an appointment when I need one, and everyone communicates well and courteously. It is a breath of fresh, crisp, amazing air. By far, the "Best" dental practice in town! I had a tooth that had 3 failed crowns done previously and the last dentist I went to (pre-COVID) said the tooth had to be extracted. I chose to get a 2nd opinion but then the pandemic hit. The pain became unbearable therefore, I asked around and was referred to Dr. Sekimoto. He examined my tooth and was able to save it! My tooth has never felt more secure and strong. The procedure was painless and quick. The new crown was a perfect fit. The staff is very professional, kind and if you're concerned about COVID exposure, this office takes extra precautions to ensure everyone's health and safety. I've been seeing Dr. Lena Bedrossian and/or her husband/business partner Dr. Leigh Sekimoto since 2001, longer than any medical professional I've ever seen. There's a reason for that. Several reasons, actually. Both Dr. Sekimoto and Dr. Bedrossian are excellent dentists who care deeply about their patients. They have wonderful personalities and seem to really enjoy what they do. Their staff is also warm, welcoming, and helpful. I've literally never had a single negative experience since I started seeing them. Years ago, my wife was looking for a new dentist, so I recommended she give Magnolia Park Dental Group a chance and she's been equally happy with their services. I've been going to Dr. Sekimoto for approximately five years now with an assortment of dental issues that aren't uncommon after your 40th birthday. Fillings, cracked teeth, chipped teeth, a little cosmetic work, cleanings, etc. Never had a bad experience or felt pain during a procedure. In fact, I've actually dozed off in his chair while he was drilling away on a tooth! Dr. Sekimoto is always upfront regarding the work that needs to be done and the costs involved. If you're up for it, he'll put together a schedule of work that falls within your insurance benefits for the year. For any serious surgical work such as root canals on molars, he refers patients to an affiliate, Dr. Geoffrey Okada -- also located in Burbank in a separate office. While Dr. Okada isn't as personable as Dr. Sekimoto, with admirable expertise and great skill, he quickly zeroes in on the problem and gets the job done. One of the most remarkable things about Dr. Sekimoto's office is that it's truly a family run business where you feel like a person as a patient instead of another number funneling through a factory-like dental group. His wife is also a dentist and shares the office with him. Together they run a courteous and extremely professional ship. The staff are well trained and consistently friendly, pleasant to deal with. Any billing questions I've had have been quickly resolved. As an adult, my experiences with dentists were downright lousy until I moved to the Burbank area and luckily came across Dr. Sekimoto on yelp. Was trying to schedule as a new patient. After calling to reschedule my appointment the receptionist told me if I had to reschedule again I would be charged $50.00. I have never been to this office, heard the dentists are good, however to be threatened to charge me for calling to reschedule I assume they are more interested in money rather than customer service. Also Andrea the receptionist could not keep the doctors names straight and seemed very rude on the phone. I can understand charging someone if they did not show up, but when you are trying to be honest and reschedule they need to understand people sometimes have more important things going on then getting their teeth cleaned and if they want more business I would re think this policy. So looking for another honest good dentist in the neighborhood. read more

Started with Dr. Sekimoto a number of years ago at his old location and now he is in a newer, nicer office. But he is still a great dentist. He has fixed fillings, cleaned teeth, worked on my gum health, and prepped me for a tooth extraction and then formed and implanted a new implant tooth. I couldn't be more satisfied with my experience with Dr. Sekimoto. I called this morning to inquire about an emergency extraction of a tooth, so I needed a same-day appointment because I was experiencing extreme pain. Didn't even sleep through the night, I was in such a crazy amount of pain. He listened to me over the phone and squeezed me in at the last second so I could be properly diagnosed. The staff was very nice and helpful. I could tell they really cared about my tooth health. They didn't even hassle me about a relative making an over the phone payment. Now that I've been properly diagnosed, I have been referred to an oral surgeon to take care of my extra delicate tooth extraction. Great service, clean, and friendly. What more could you ask for? I'm a newish California resident, so I asked a friend if she liked her dentist, and she enthusiastically recommended I see Dr. Sekimoto. It was a great recommendation. The following is what I liked most about my experience at Dr. Sekimoto's clinic: 1) My cleaning was pain-free. Some dentists I went to in the past used a pneumatic scraper-bit instead of a manual scraper for cleanings. Now, each of these tools will get your teeth clean, however, using a manual scraper, the dentist has far greater control over how the tool hits your gums and the dentin below the gumline. Dr. Sekimoto uses a manual scraper, not the pneumatic bit. I can't remember the last time I had such a pleasant experience getting my teeth cleaned. 2) Dr. Sekimoto and his staff are very friendly and easy to talk to. 3) I had several questions concerning implants, getting a night guard for teeth-grinding, etc., and Dr. Sekimoto gave me clear, thorough answers. He also referred me to not just one but two implant specialists. 4) Dr. Sekimoto advised me how to maximize my dental insurance benefits. His suggestions will save me a lot of money.
