The food and drink options are classic English staples- we all ordered fish n chips and sticky toffee pudding. I'm no English-food expert, but I can say both dishes were pretty mid. The fish was huge, but not crispy... chips were perfectly fried- peas were, well, peas (lol)! But the service was friendly and the whole experience was a good one! Would I come back? Probably not- but I'm still happy that this was my first English pub/food experience in London!

Also, I like that you can reserve a table, and that they are open late if you are looking for a late night drink. Thank God for that because we came away satisfied. I'm not the biggest beer drinker and man that beer was so damn good! We also ordered a sausage roll as well as haloumi fries. We enjoyed a beer downstairs at the bar while we waited. They had a large selection of beers and full liquor service. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. When our table was ready we were led upstairs to the balcony and seated. Our waitress Sophia was amazing. She was friendly, fast and answered all our questions about the menu. We were able to secure the last two roast selections. We ended up with one beef, one chicken and the fish and chips. We were very pleased with everything. The fish was seasoned nicely with a hint of sea salt. The tartar sauce was great, tasted homemade. The chicken was my favorite. It was moist and delicious. The restaurant itself is modern and cozy on the inside with a beautiful dining area outside surrounded by greenery. Remember to order at the counter instead of waiting for the waitress to come around! The service was well paced and each waitress was welcoming and attentive. While I enjoyed my beers, I ordered the charcuterie board, the miso glazed chicken skewers, and finished it off with the sticky toffee pudding. My favorite item was the chicken skewers because it was perfectly rationed for one person. I had trouble finishing the charcuterie board, but that doesn't mean it wasn't delicious! I do have to say that it gets very busy here, so try to come by before peak hours. They also strictly close at 10pm because it's directly located in a neighborhood.

I haven't had a cider like that in the States, so I was cherishing every drop I had. The Ocean's fish & chips came out next and it was A Lot of food. Even though it was a Wednesday night, the pub was heaving and we didn't have a booking. The wonderful Damian recommended some beers, found us a table and served our meals. The beers were terrific, we loved our fish and chips, and fish pie, and Damian's service was super friendly and professional. Note that there is a 10% service charge for table service but Damian earned every penny of it!

I tried the fish and chips, and it was squarely in the middle on the fish-and-chips food spectrum--it wasn't bad, and I'll never get it again. The kids got wings and they had enough to say that they were fine, too. This would be the kind of place I would hit from time to time in emergencies if I lived nearby, because I have a feeling they do everything on the menu moderately well.
