You could tell a lot of care went into everything, even with the short notice. Guests kept going back for seconds (and thirds), and all night people were asking, "Where is this food from?!" It's rare to find a place that can handle both quality and pressure like that, but they absolutely delivered. Tried Lemon Zest for the first time. Love the vegan menu. I had the vegan beef gyro - delicious!! I highly recommend. I also ordered the lentil soup. I tasted it and really liked it but was to full from the gyro to do more than taste. Another thing I really appreciated was that they ran out of cup size containers for the soup and gave me the bowl without skimping or charging extra . Appreciate this service. They truly remain a treasured place of Mediterranean Food along the outskirts of Glendale. AreMen, who is the owner and manager has also opened 4 other locations which are spread around the LA County. (Northridge, Sherman Oaks, Azusa, Glendale and Sierra Madre). Ambiances here in GDL is chill and is a relatively small location, but they have a larger location in Azusa with a full bar and live music every Friday from 7 to 10 pm. read more

How do they cook it so it doesn't dry out? I must know. I got it with side Greek salad, hummus and babaganoush. I like to dip my chicken in the spreads. YUM! Whole wheat pita on the side. I came in and ordered the chicken Chipotle wrap. My order was cooked as I requested.all of the toppings that you could ever want were at your quest. I was even given a bottle of their pomegranate hot sauce, which was pretty sweet but spicy. My order came with fries, but I could have ordered a salad. My sister ordered the salmon salad, which was well appointed. The proportions for the food are incredible.we were able to take the food on the plane. After working as a substitute teacher in Glendale for the past two years, I discovered the Lemon Zest Cafe. The chicken breast kabob plate is amazing! The chicken is succulent, not over seasoned. The rice is fluffy, delicious humus and a generous crispy fresh salad with a tasty dressing. They often comp me a beverage or a baklava. I love this place. I love that they have vegan beef and vegan lamb kabobs. It is very difficult to find vegan kabobs that are not just vegetables. They have generous meal sets with salad and/or rice. They have greek salad, Caesar salad, and house salad. I personally recommend the vegan beef kabobs and their Caesar salad. Their yogurt is quite good as well. The falafels are decent and so are the other side dishes. It is around $20-$30 for a kabob meal set but again, it has large portions. You have to ask for the garlic dip, its tastes really good with the beef. They have street parking and there's are 2-3 tables outside on the patio for outdoor dining. read more

Let's start this off by saying this used to be a favorite place of mine. The ingredients are still good. The vibe of restaurant is still great. I think this would make a great date spot still if you have the money. NOW - let's begin on why this i 2 stars for me. Price is king and almost $40.00 for two small wraps is INSANE. Most items are priced up now and i think for a dinner of two you will need around $50.00 minimum. I asked for ranch and they tried to charge me extra for a few containers which i get but the ones they add aren't even full? For the price of the food there should be at least full to go containers of any side sauce one would want. Service is fine - nothing great nor bad. Bottom line - for WHAT you get i think there are a ton of better options in glendale. The food goes pretty hard on the salt so if you have any sodium restrictions or preferences keep that in mind. I would rate this place higher if they rework their pricing or add some sides to what folks are ordering. Two stand alone small wraps shouldn't be $40.00. read more

Yum! We were in the mood for lunch in Glendale and I can never resist some kind of kebab or Mediterranean food. Much to my surprise I saw prominently featured a vegan version of beef kebab. Truly, a surprise! Usually when I eat Persian style food I get ghormeh Sabzi as it is usually one of the only vegan things on a Persian style menu. However the inclusion of vegan options was really awesome. We went during lunch. My partner got the lamb kebab lunch plate and I got the vegan beef kebab lunch plate. It was $19 each but you get so much food. Easily enough for two meals minimum. You get the kebab plate with either rice or salad and then two very hefty and ample sides. I also used Yelp to check in and got another order of hummus as a special item. The flavors were delightful. They really did a great job with presentation of the vegan item. It made me feel special to have this item and they did a great job with the consistency and the flavoring. They do not have coffee at the moment but they have a cooler with lots of colas and canned beverages. Very simple place and a lot of people seem to be calling in for takeout. They also said they do delivery. However I enjoyed sitting outside even though it was a warm day the angle of the sun was such that we had shade during lunchtime which is so appreciated. It was a very chill vibe in an otherwise kind of busy area. I will be back and I'm also planning a large lunch soon so I am considering checking into their catering options. read more

I cannot praise this place enough, it hits all the points of a great restaurant/eatery. From the very first time I ate here pre-COVID till now, I've been satisfied every single time. It says enough that they've been open 10 years now, and not only survived COVID, but have stayed consistently good despite pressure from inflation and operating costs. The place itself is a bit of a hole in the wall with a very cozy but bright interior - a true gem when you see it and i love that. The service is always exceptional - the gentleman that runs the place is so kind and hard-working, really makes you feel that they take pride in their food and business. The kitchen looks clean and ingredients are fresh, the meat is grilled to order and doesn't sit out. I've had pretty much a bit of everything from their menu, from their wraps to the kebab to the gyro and I've enjoyed it all. We recently had their shrimp kebab with half rice and half greek salad, and the veggie plate with ikra (roasted eggplant dip) and the baba ganoush. Every bit was good - the buttery rice, the grilled shrimp, the zesty dips, and the tasty veggies - our dinner hit the spot. The portions are great too for the price, so if I don't finish, I have the leftovers for lunch the next day. All in all, Lemon Zest can do no wrong in my eyes and has earned it. read more
