Decently delicious restaurant with healthy vegan options. The curry changes seasonally, so that's cool! The portion sizes are pretty small, I'd say (like just a one and some type meal... so it's a little pricey for that reason). The owners are very sweet and knowledgeable and the food was very well flavored. My only complaint on flavor was that the 'spicy' version was ... well, not spicy. So there's that. Absolutely delicious curry with a homey taste. Not too heavy or too light. Great flavors - packed full of veggies. I would recommend getting it spicy (adds extra flavor without too much heat). WOW! This place is an incredible hidden gem. I wish they had more locations closer to where I live. I appreciate the really heartwarming origin story of Dr. Tank (a world renowned geologist) the healthy menu full of organic gluten free options, and the wonderful service. I like their tofu curry bowl and their tofu fried rice with veggies. The dish is good and it's interesting to know the guy who cooks your food and runs the restaurant used to cook this food in the field when he was doing his phd work. He still does phd work on the side at UofA. His wife also owns a shopping store down the street. This is the kind of place you go to if you want a story and context with the food you're eating. I've heard good things about this place, so I picked up lunch from here today. I'm so happy that I did! One of the best pick up lunches that I've had! I called ahead, and was told how many dishes were to be made ahead of mine, and it was a 30-40 minute wait with 3 people ahead of me, which tells me that the owner truly takes his time, and prides himself in his dishes. I ordered the curry chicken, which was EXCELLENT!! Lots of flavor, lots of variety in the veggies! There were carrots, and bell peppers, and brussels sprouts, and cauliflower, onion! WOW!! It was a nice-sized portion, and I ordered a vegan dish for my friend, so when he wrapped it, he put the vegan dish on top, so that no chicken would end up dripping into the vegan dish - nice! The owner was very accommodating, and friendly, and I loved reading his story that's on the wall while I waited! Absolutely delicious!! read more

This is clean, organic, scratch made, DELICIOUS food that we LOVE!! It is our go-to spot in Tucson. There is an interesting story behind the owner's experience of how he got into culinary arts. They put their heart and hard-working soul into the meals they prepare. I think about this place when I'm up north in the summer and can't wait for Arizona winters so I can return to Lemongrass, get take out and go watch the Arizona sunsets! The coconut curry and rice pudding is my fave, but no doubt everything is ridiculously delicious. We've had their smoothies too, which are YUM. I'm gluten free & dairy free and they accommodate perfectly & carefully. I always feel good after eating here, and DON'T see a 2# bump up on the scale afterwards because of water retention after eating out. :) The ambiance itself is better if you can eat outside, it's a good place for takeout... But the food quality is A+++. I always jack up my spice level when ordering here because it leans on the less spicy level****! So normally I get a 4/5, and here I ask for "extra, extra spicy". Go and enjoy great food at my favorite restaurant, and support a hard working owner who knows culinary science & art! Paying for parking on the street is worth it for this place. Met up with a good friend for "hope at the end of pandemic tunnel" celebration here. What I loved was that each dish was prepared when ordered and not before- having said that it took a while for food to come out but it only gave us time to chitchat and catch up so no big deal. I ordered the vegetarian stir-fried noodles. Delicious but on the bland side for me. I was hoping for a well seasoned vegetarian dish, although the dish was indeed well cooked it would fall short of well seasoned for me. The space is well organized and the Dr. Chef was very friendly. Got an Eggplant Mushroom Platter with Coconut Tomato sauce and basmati rice- it was delicious - I was sad when it was gone. The flavorful sauce was not spicy but they offered to make it spicy. Veggies were perfectly cooked. We tried ordering with different sauce and rice, but the man working urged us to try a different combo of ingredients instead. I'm glad he helped us order - my suggestion is they should have suggested for dish, rice, and sauce combos so customers know what goes well together. Staff was very friendly and helpful and sanitary. We had just arrived in Tucson from the Bay Area. It was around 7-7:30 in the evening and when I got there it was packed. When I got up to the counter, the guy said that we would have to wait for an hour and a half for the food. He said that he was short staffed. So we decided to try another day. The next afternoon we called for take out, during lunch. After a long wait, we finally got the food and it was completely tasteless. I'm not even kidding but it literally was the worst tasting restaurant food I had ever tried. To be fair, we ordered it "mild." So that may have been part of the issue? I'm surprised that there are so many good reviews on here because it was terrible. We were a party of 4 people and no one was impressed. I so, so wanted to support a restaurant that had all of the perks such as being organic, having gluten free options, and vegan options. There are so few restaurants that have all three. Oh yeah, also it was my first time eating Nepalese food. Maybe all of that food tastes that way? I'm familiar with Himalayan food and love it, so I kinda doubt it.
