What a wonderful brunch!! Very relaxing experience, great atmosphere and not noisy. Soft music in the background and smiling faces on the staff faces. Ordered the traditional benny, substituted fresh tomatoes for the eggs, italian hash and the french toast. What wonderful choices and the french toast may be the best we have ever had!! If you are looking for a new place to try for breakfast, I tried one this week that I had heard of called Lena's Kitchen. It is actually in Wixom but very close at 8 miles away for me on Beck Road south of West Road, but it was worth the drive. They have lunch menu also, but I tried them for breakfast and it was outstanding. I had a fruit infused pancake, and you can see that it looks great! I drive by this restaurant pretty often since it's on the way to the 96 fwy. It's located in a business center, not somewhere you would typically go to grab some breakfast. We finally decided to give them a try since I wanted pancakes. Of course I didn't get pancakes haha because once I see the menu I always end up getting something else. We ordered the corned beef hash and eggs, mushroom Swiss omelette, and very berry crepes with a side of extra crispy bacon. Service is phenomenal! 5 stars! Food is 4 stars! The corned beef hash is this the one from the can which is the one my husband prefers. Can't go wrong there. Mushroom Swiss omelette was good, needed a little bit of salt, but nice and cheesy with a bountiful amount of mushrooms. Very berry crepes wasn't too sweet so that's good for me. They were very generous with the berries too! They kept checking on us and made sure our coffee was never empty. We sat and chatted for awhile after we packed our food and we never felt rushed to leave. They even kept asking if we wanted coffee! This is definitely a hidden gem and we would be back to try other items on their menu. Prices are very reasonable as well. read more

I love Lena's Kitchen for it's variety of yummy breakfast items and the consistency of quality food that you get each and every visit. Today I opted for the California Omelette with bacon, tomatoes, Swiss cheese, and avocado. I asked for them to make it light on the bacon as I'm not big on the breakfast meats. It was delicious. The avocado came on top so you could just scoop a piece out with your bite of omelette. There wasn't too much Swiss and the eggs were fluffy. Next time I come I will have to indulge in one of their many options of sweet crepes that look amazing. Just a note, if you come in and you are waiting for someone in your group, the staff will not seat you until your group is complete. You will have to wait in the lobby. I also read a sign asking patrons to limit their meals to one and half hours due to crowds. read more

I've had this place on my list for awhile now. I just visited Lena's Kitchen for the first time with my boyfriend yesterday. I had the loaded banana French toast and he had the sweet and savory stuffed French toast. First, the menu has so many items I wanted it was hard to choose! So for my first visit I went with the Nutella smothered loaded banana French toast. Best decision ever! I just don't know how I'm going to try the other items on my list because it was so good I could eat it every time I visit! My boyfriend went more traditional breakfast food with the sweet and savory stuffed French toast. Again absolutely amazing. Both looking and tasting! We will for sure be regulars here. It's so obvious they use quality ingredients and don't skip on anything. Btw, I've never taken so many pictures of my food before and sent them to all my friends and family to make them jealous! First visited thanks to yelp.. been coming every Sunday for breakfast ever since. Huge breakfast menu (this is their specialty) and a pretty large lunch menu too (Philly cheesesteak is my favorite). Everything is fresh and homemade. Portions are huge, I've never been able to finish my plate. Friendly and fast service.. the servers are always walking around with coffee and checking on guests for each other which is nice. A few times I've gone there's been a 20ish minute wait but it's well worth it. Strange location inside an office building but they seem to be doing great even when the building is empty on the weekends.. Lena's mother was even walking around today greeting guests and sharing stories. Apparently Lena comes from a family of restaurant owners (Leon's Coney Island in Dearborn) and she wanted to open her own and put her own twist on it, concentrating more on breakfast and baking. Nice to hear stories of small business owners doing well and loving what they do! My boyfriend and I look forward to our Sunday Lena's trip every week! read more

Lena's omelette $9 - 5 egg white omelette with sauteed mushrooms, green peppers, onions, broccoli, spinach, and tomatoes. I added asparagus as well. The cheese that originally comes with it is mozzarella, however, I subbed feta cheese for this. Next time, i might just stick to mozzarella as they sprinkle too many feta cubes which made it too salty for me. This was very tasty for a veggie egg white omelette. The hashbrowns were crispy and very good...tho just a tad oily. PRICE: A bit on the high side with most dishes in the $7-12 range, which is fine since all the ingredients were quality and fresh. SERVICE: Waitstaff was friendly and had someone come by to see if everything was ok from time to time. Very good breakfast. We've had a Benny Florentine with 2 small pancakes instead of hash browns, and Veggie omelette with feta cheese and also with pancakes. Both were delicious. A little bit too much feta cheese, it made the omelette quite salty, but other than that we enjoyed the breakfast and left unbelievably full. As many others mentioned, the place is in a weird location of an empty office building, but don't let this change your mind of going there. The restaurant looks very nice and comfy inside. The staff was very friendly, coffee cup was never empty and they checked on us few times. I wish them to stay there for a long time, which I don't think is easy with the location. First, the coffee was not good. Very generic and cheap tasting...but it is almost like an upscale Coney Island breakfast type place so I wasn't expecting amazing coffee. I would have liked better coffee though. Service was good and our waitress was nice. The food was delayed. My breakfast came out looking sloppy and undesirable.
