What a gem of a place so happy we learned about it through the Yelp app and other reviewers. We were headed to the IKEA store in Canton from the Flint area and wanted to find a non chain place for lunch or breakfast.. we made the right decision going here.. I'm a simple girl, I see oreos, I pull out my wallet. Actually, I've been seeing Lena's for a long time but breezed by it. Moment of silence for all the missed time of enjoying this amazing place. We arrived a little before 10 a.m. on a Saturday and expected to have a long wait. We were so pleased to be told 10 minute wait and then get seated after only about 5. They were pretty busy but I could tell the staff worked like a well oiled machine. We ordered as soon as we were seated because we did our homework in advance, I got the stuffed oreo pancakes with sausage and my husband ordered chicken and waffles with bacon. Oh.my.God. every single item we ordered was delicious!!! My pancakes had a surprise cream cheese topping, which I'm not a huge fan of normally but it was my jam on these pancakes. The sausage were the bomb and my husband's bacon was cooked perfectly, like, where they do that at?? I tried my husband's chicken chicken from his waffle and I honestly can't wait to go again so I can get it in a chicken salad. I'll be back, not soon enough though, trust me. read more

Stopped in on a whim after reading reviews of delicious Eggs Benedict. Waited about 20 minutes, which is not bad for a Sunday during brunch time. We ordered the Gouda Mac n Cheese bites as an appetizer; what an interesting twist on a fried snack- they were yummy without the Ranch dressing. My hubby chose the Italian omelette and I decided on the Benny Florentine. Husband said the omelette was very good, and commented on the quality of the Italian sausage and fulfillment of well done hashbrowns. My Benedict was good, but didn't knock my socks off. We both eyeballed the Bananas Foster French Toast at the table next to us, which means a return visit is in order. The gluten free and vegetarian options means that it will likely be a family outing. Thank you for the sturdy fork (it's a pet peeve of mine), but no thank you to the plastic wrapped plastic straws. If a more sustainable option isn't in your budget, at least provide them on request only. Every little bit helps. read more

On Friday June 7th, at around 11:45ish, a group of me and my friends (five total) decided to dine in for breakfast to celebrate our last day of finals at lenas. the service was alright, our server was very kind, and the food was good. the problem struck when we finally decided to check out. the front desk lady with red hair in a braid and glasses was not only ignoring the group of my friends, but was UNEXPLAINABLY rude. not only did she blatantly complain about the servers tip TO OUR FACE, but then proceeded to say the words "we should have added an automatic gratuity to their bills" even though there was only five of us (under the automatic gratuity rule). we did have a separate group of two (my sister and her boyfriend) that we did pay with, but they were on the complete side of the restaurant, by themselves, with a whole different server. (hence why the cashier lady was so upset) but the worst part of these experience was when the lady's coworker asked the cashier what was taking so long, she reply's by saying: "these rude a** kids." and then proceeds to rip my sister and her boyfriends receipt up. when confronted, she not only refused to give us her names, but then blatantly denied the accusations even though she said it right in our face and tells us to leave the restaurant. We love lena's and wish this review doesn't mess up their service, but the way me and my friends were treated today definitely left us feeling hurt and angry. we definitely won't be returning, and to the lady who was being snappy and cussed at us, we hope your ego was boosted by making a group of kids upset. read more

Wow!!! Dynamite breakfast, excellent service (Sherie) and I can't wait to come back for lunch!!! I had veggie hash .. it was huge, loaded with fresh vegtables (I did sub Swiss instead of cheddar.) The staff is cheerful and the food is delicious and fun. The decor suits the professionals as well as the locals. The menu accommodates Gluten Free options in the Pancake and French Toast categories. The coffee is hot and the cook will grill your corned beef hash to order. Originally, we gave this a four star review, but we decided to increase it to five stars because it is just too pleasant here. The only recommendation of change we can come up with on this visit is the syrup. The Log Cabin brand tastes like water. Please, serve us maple syrup. Perhaps something from the state of Michigan. Otherwise, we highly recommend a visit to Lena's for breakfast or lunch. We will make repeat visits here as often as we can. read more

I live 5 minutes from here from years and just drive past it everyday. It's at the bottom of an office building. I was looking for breakfast places on Yelp and this had great reviews so I finally stopped in. I walked in and got carry out from here; I was very pleased. I ordered the garden griddle (Hollandaise on the side because I have never tried it), corned beef hash and sweet and savory French toast. I was wondering what was taking kind of a long time for carry out (double the 10 mins they said - not a huge deal). One of the ladies up front explained that my griddle originally came out with the sauce on it so they told the kitchen to remake it. This was really nice, even though it was unnecessary because I'm not that picky. Still, I appreciated it. That extra effort will make me a returning customer. She gave me some extra stamps on my frequency card! The garden griddle was huge and tasty. I love kalamata olives, but they were a bit overpowering in this meal. Hollandaise was good, so next time I'll get it on the meal lol. For the corned beef hash, they give you an option for canned or fresh corned beef - I chose fresh. In all fairness, I've never had corned beef hash, so I don't know the typical corned beef to hash brown ratio, but this was more hash brown with some corned beef sprinkled in. It was delicious, but I def would've loved some more corned beef. The sweet and savory French toast is amazing! It's a full omelette with a nice portion of French toast. Full of flavor - definitely recommend. The place was packed when I picked up our food, and I'd like to dine in next time. Sometimes you just get lucky... We arrived somewhat late morning on a Monday and the restaurant was sparsely populated. The food was amazingly bountiful, fresh and hot. We were asked whether we wanted fresh or canned corned beef--to each definitely their own--but soooo cool to have both. Our server was very friendly, as was everyone we encountered throughout the establishment. I wish I lived near this business. I was instantly impressed with service, where the hostess seated us, another person took our drink orders as we sat, still another waitress asked if we had given our drink orders, and finally our waitress brought our drink orders and helped us with our food selections. The food came quickly and was uniformly outstanding. My savory crepes were tender and flavorful, my wife almost finished her large Southwestern omelette and hash browns, and the boys made short work of their S'mores pancakes and French toast with a side of bacon and eggs. Our last order was strawberry & cream crepes (one of my favorite dishes *anywhere*), original pancakes and a veggie and a meat hash. The things that were supposed to be crispy were crispy, the things that were spongy weren't soggy and we had leftovers from each box. The delivery driver was gone for the day when I called, but an employee was kind enough to run our order out to our minivan full of screaming kids still in their pj's. Food is amazing. My coworkers and I sometimes go there for lunch. However, when you bring your ticket to the register, the lady who's always there to check you out has such a bad attitude. We had a coupon that we wanted to use, and I told her to please wait, but she rang it up already so I couldn't apply the coupon. There was a small sign says we would have to actually show the coupon before she rang our ticket, but again, I reminded her to wait.
