I came here for brunch on a Saturday, and it was okay. It was pretty busy, and we were able to be seated quickly which was great. The space is bright and spacious, with plenty of seating. As far as food goes, there's a pretty decent menu, spanning from sweet and savory, breakfast and lunchy items. I ended up going with the honey crunch caramel iced coffee, and the tri-fecta with the multigrain pancake, egg, and sausage. The pancake was gigantic! This location is ... frustratingly erratic. I like the "Works" omelette. Typically it is plump and full of all the goodness. Not today. Stingy comes to mind. Sausage looks as if it was cooked in a microwave. Comes with a small portion of greens ... and today they were wilted and beyond. When it was time to pay, nobody at the register to take my payment or welcome the arriving and waiting customers. Nor were they busy in the dining room. Four were having a hen party in the kitchen. Ordered the chicken pesto quinoa bowl, elevated egg sandwich, and a kale tonic. The quinoa bowl was just right. They season the chicken slices well and use just enough quinoa to balance the dish without making it feel like too much grain. The pesto and roasted tomatoes tie everything together. The kale tonic is always great. I order this every time and it never disappoints. I do like to water mine down as I drink it, but that's just me. The elevated egg sandwich comes on brioche that's actually light and fluffy. The avocado tastes fresh, but they oversalted the potatoes on the side (). I love potatoes too, so this one hurt a little. My family decided to give First Watch a try for breakfast. We put our name in on the online check in with a wait time of around 30 minutes (weekday). When we arrived we waited an additional 10 minutes and were alerted to come in via text message. The restaurant has a very busy and quite loud for a weekday. The decor is a kind of classic country, but not outdated. We sat in a booth right by the semi-open kitchen. My wife and I both ordered their traditional breakfast. It comes with 2 eggs, toast, choice of meat and country potatoes. They were pretty standard diner style dishes. Our daughter got blueberry pancake and a green juice. The pancake was good, but not out of this world. Overall the food was good, not worth the price we paid, but good. I still don't totally get the hype and the ridiculous wait times. The wait staff is friendly and service was prompt. I wouldn't go out of my way to go to First Watch, but I wouldn't give them another shot. read more

My friend and I had a fantastic late brunch here. It was our first visit but won't be the last. We were immediately seated and given menus. I was intrigued by the seasonal menu and ordered a boozy Cinnamon Toast Crunch drink. My friend ordered the Million Dollar Bloody Mary and proclaimed it excellent. For our meals I decided to stick to the seasonal menu and went with the double crunch breakfast tacos. Living in San Antonio for 8 years has rubbed off on me and I judge a restaurant by their tacos. These were the best breakfast tacos I've had hands down. I love both the crispy and soft shells and the pork carnitas inside were flavorful and tender. It was stuffed so thick there was probably enough for a third taco. They didn't skimp with the cheese, avocado or scrambled eggs either. Then to top it off it had a strip of bacon with a lime crema and cilantro drizzle. Wow these were excellent! My friend had the classic eggs Benedict and he was very happy. They have several different versions of eggs Benedict but you can't go wrong with the classic. As for me I'm hoping they keep the double crunch tacos on the menu! read more

It was my first time trying this and it was better than expected. The waffle tasted like it was from a more expensive restaurant. My wife tried the BLT and was surprised to find that it was not toasted and the potatoes were a bit hard, while they offered toasted bread after the fact, she was already over it. The hot chocolate was chocolaty, but tasted a bit like a typical packaged powder mix and the coffee was strong. The syrup on the table was just fine and I did not see the need to get maple. They were crowded and the service was a bit slow, but as a result the server offered a $20 gift card for a future visit. So the waffle was the clear winner and will definitely be back. Stopped in this morning to grab breakfast before a shopping trip to Costco. I was surprised at how empty the place was. Bonus for us! Pamela was our server and she did a great job. Very pleasant and efficient. I got the carrot cake and pecan pancakes and my wife ordered the ham and gruyere omelet. Hers came with toast and roasted taters. She loved everything. My pancakes were huge. They say "humongous" on the menu and they are correct. Plenty enough for a second meal. Glad we could get in when it is sorta empty because it is much quieter. They use Greek yogurt parfait was literally perfect, I usually don't get to eat all the fruit from those because all the fruit is never good enough to eat....NOT in this case! Each and every single piece of fruit was perfect and sweet -strawberries, blueberries AND PINEAPPLE which I never get! My daughter loved her eggs and turkey sausage....AND they gave our table an entire picture of coffee which was a big PLUS in my book because both my husband and I drink coffee.... Nice bright atmosphere inside. Waitress brought a coffee and drinks fairly quickly but it took a long time til we get our foods. I feel like I waited over 40 min. So I'm assuming they were short staffed. Foods tasted fresh and very light , not oily or greasy at all. But I mostly enjoyed their fresh squeezed juice. My toast was burnt around the edges & they slopped a lot of avocadoes on it. My potatoes were warm & I had more burnt pieces than just being cooked like the menu photo. The best thing for me was the mimosa. I wanted to send it back, but I have a fear of cooks spitting in the food if you send it back (a personal fear). We eat here occasionally. It's a nice spot. I like the different spin on food selections served here. I visited recently and I had the shrimp and grits. It was very good, but the portion was not enough for me. Which is usually the case with shrimp and grits where ever I go. Otherwise, the food portions are good, and the food is good to. Their cheese grits are also good. I like that they have a variety of fresh juices too. The service has always been good. I am not typically a morning person or a brunch person but first watch has changed that for me in all good ways! I have come to other locations in MI but this one by far, is the best. I do wish it was double in size and had a bigger patio as this place is very popular at all times especially on the weekends. I love the menu and how they have a mix of staples / tried and true favorites as well as seasonal and fun additions from time to time. I personally love their juices as all of them are creative and delicious and visually appealing! I recommend any of them. I also liked their chorizo omelette as that was very tasty, I personally do not like avocado so I asked for it on the side but it still had a little in my omelette but that ok; still edible lol. I do think for the portion/ size of the omelette the pico de gallo portion could be a little bigger but I loved my chorizo omelette entree as it had a mix of savory and sweet with the salad provided and toasted bread slices provided with jam. I did feel our waitress was trying to go fast / rush us a bit to keep up with the flow and pace of all the customers waiting for a table which I didn't love but I still enjoyed my experience here as they didn't ask us to say, leave after 1.5-2 hours sitting here enjoying brunch. My favorite part of the location is also how airy and bright it is with the big windows! Went out to celebrate for my mom's birthday, I had the chickichanga with a chocolate chip pancake. The chickichanga was served with a side of potatoes/ home fries. I think the chickichanga and the chocolate chip pancakes were on par the best I've had in the nearby area, however, the potatoes were a bit undercooked for my taste. My cousin had the bacon, and he said it was a bit hard for his braces, and my grandpa had the soup which he said was a bit thick. My friend recommended this restaurant a while back; she had visited First Watch in a different state and thought it was a healthy spot for breakfast and brunch. On a recent weekend, I stopped by after a quick shopping trip. I had placed my order online, scheduling the time I would pick it up. A short time later, I pulled into the parking lot of a newly-developed strip mall. A gym class was taking place outdoors on one side. Outdoor dining was popular this morning, in part because of the comfortable weather, but also because of the large metal awning attached to the restaurant. Inside the restaurant was large with very high ceilings. Because of COVID, the tables were well-spaced apart from one another, and diners were seated quite far apart. When I got there, my order was almost ready. The restaurant has orders set up opposite the hostess stand, all of them clearly identified. I loved the overall design aesthetics, large windows, wood-planked floors, and wood furnishings. I ordered the Frittata Rustica and considered it, and the accompanying fruit salad, to be the healthy portion of my meal since it contained kale, roasted mushrooms, roasted onions, tomatoes, and Parmesan and Mozzarella cheeses. Along with it, I had some of the Million Dollar Bacon, the more indulgent part of the meal. It was cooked with brown sugar, spices, and served with maple syrup. TASTY! Service was fine. It had crispy bacon, tomato, egg on top, & Parmesan cream sauce (although it could have used more)! Tip #1: Get yourself the app so you can "get in line" and get seated faster! How have I not reviewed First Watch? This is one of my favorite places to eat! Seriously amazing food. Always busy so plan to wait. The staff is always friendly. The coffee is always hot. I ask for cream from the kitchen instead of those little packaged thingies. I like the AM Superfoods Bowl best. I've had other entrées but why when I only get the chia pudding here? So good! COVID. . .we all hate it.  When all this rigamaroll started we were told things and then told some more things, we're still being told things and it all doesn't add up.  But when some of the places we love went down, never to return, we hoped there would be new life breathed into our restaurant universe.  In some cases there is only the death of great places we've been.  In others, there may be hope! When we discovered our favorite breakfast spot, Cracked, an A.M. Addiction, was gone, we were heartbroken.  Damn this "pandemic" and the politics of it all.  But just down the road came a glimmer of hope, we watched as a building was built and things started to come to life.  And First Watch was one of them! We came here, and actually sat outside for the first time anywhere because it was extremely nice outside.  It was a bit windy and we contemplated going back in but didn't.   We waited for nothing, our server came right over and we asked for coffee and lickity split she was back with a pot of coffee and took our order.  I don't what kind of coffee they have but it was really good! She ordered the Bacado Omelet, and I had the Inspired Italian Omelet.  We both had the greens on the side.  She absolutely loved the Bacado!  While I was very impressed with the Inspired Italian.  Everything was very fresh, light, and tasty!  We were both full when we were done but not food coma full.  The only thing I had to say was that I think I would prefer the greens on the inside as the omelet was being built.  But that's not a criticism.  Friendly, great service, tasty food, a bit pricey but worth it.  All in all I can say that we have a new breakfast spot that we will be back to to try everything else.  But I still mourn Cracked. . .R.I.P. read more

We came here for breakfast one morning and they were experiencing a shortage of help that day. But everybody kept us in the loop as to how much longer it would be until our table is ready. And even though our waitperson was running around covering more tables than what she had originally planned for she still was very attentive. I ordered the avocado toast and it was fantastic!
