The food is excellent. Service friendly and with a nice down home friendly way about them. Not stuffy at all but always professional and willing offer you good advice so you don't waste money. For example if you order things one by one it might be more expensive than if you get exactly the same things but save a few bucks by making it a combo, that kind of advice is often very important. Parking is a little challenging sometimes but not terrible. Some people I've heard complain they don't like " paper plates" but they more than make up for the lack of fancy dinnerware by giving good portions of excellent food. If you are hungry for ambiance go get a bowl someplace else but if want good food from good people eat at Lena's Seafood. read more

Quaint stand alone restaurant, with lots of nautical decor. We had a party of 8 and sat at 2 4-tables beside each other, our server Jill, was amazing! Every order was correct and she kept the drinks refilled. I ordered the half plate of shrimp, which came with fries, onion rings, and coleslaw. The shrimp was butterflied and very breaded. My food was good, especially the onion rings. Coleslaw was in a dressing sized container, Not sure why they bother. I didn't like their tartar sauce at all. We're looking for a good seafood resto around Ocala, this was recommended by a co- worker. The food was not that great, they served them with plastic forks & paper plates, which is aweful. The presentation made a bad impression, the food was a bit salty. I think people just eat here because this is the only resto on hwy 40. And they said owners are from Maine, i doubt. Giving LENA'S SEAFOOD, the credit they deserve is a double-edged sword. Telling how great this place is will only make it even busier. Wife & I drove in from Crystal River, 1.5 hours each way. We will definitely do it again ! There are 2 things that can make or break a dining experience, food &/or service. In our case, both were "Top Notch" ! Our waitresse's name was Tina. Great little seafood spot! We saw the cool sign out front when headed to Juniper Springs and decided to check it out on the way back. So glad we did! Inside was actually very clean and the food was delicious. We enjoyed chicken tenders and fried shrimp and clam strips. The seafood was fried perfectly, crispy outside and tender inside. Whenever I am in Ocala visiting my friends, we always try to stop in at Lena's! GREAT seafood. Wish they were open all year round, but it is what it is. Great staff that has genuine charm and is welcoming. Also helpful with selections and questions. These are people who have been with them a long time. I usually just go for an all you can eat basket of shrimp. They have platters and sides or half platters, but in the end, the all-yo-can-eats are the best deal. Their sauces are very good as well. No beer or wine, but that not an issue. Hope to get back there next year when I visit my buds again. I really love every meal I have had with there. read more

I saw someone post on one of the Ocala fb pages about this place and told my husband we've got to go try this place out. We did on Wednesday, 4/05, and it wasn't a disappointment. It's a small establishment but don't let that stop you from going to try this place out. Loved the decor of the restaurant and the waitresses where just great and were having a great time themselves. The waitresses there at the time we were, Donna, Vicki and Jill. We had family come in the week before we went here and wish we had known about it where we could've taken our family members there. They would've enjoyed the food and atmosphere. We will definitely be back to try other items on the menu. read more

Fried seafood Mecca! Lena's is a 5th generation New England style seafood shack. In business in Ocala for over 30 years and in Massachusetts for over 50 years. The staff will charm you and the generous plates of expertly fried seafood and shellfish will quickly win you over. We ordered the mixed chowder (half fish/ half clam). Warm and satisfying with loads of tender fish. A small order of whole belly fried clams which was huge, And the WHALER..... a monster truck sized platter of fish, scallops, shrimp, clams, smelt, fried, onion rings, cole slaw and rolls... more than enough for 3 to share. Even though we were stuffed- we needed to finish this meal with a sweet treat- the apple crisp was just the perfect ending... not too sweet, tart apples and a perfect topping.
