So I had a visit today Thursday, April 19 I would love to knowledge a very sweet and kind lady by the name of Sam. Sam hospitality went above and beyond and for that I appreciate her- So one reason for my visit on today that upon checking my email I noticed that I received a email an email from Lenny's - The email just simply said Lenny's VIP rewards enjoy this one dollar off on a sandwich - so I decided to go ahead and get the little one up and get out for a moment -we took a stroll down on Main Street headed to Lenny's Upon entering it was their normal lunch crowd it's expected- wasn't not too busy very nice a gentleman held the door and I was able to get in line right away there wasn't actually no wait upon entering I merely walked up to the register where I was next in line to be helped I presented my Lenny's VIP card with coupon and ordered a Philly cheesesteak combo- sat down to wait and it only took less than 7 minutes Philly sub sandwich was fresh, hot and tasty :)) By the way, I suggest to all to sign up for Lenny's rewards. read more

I typically eat at Lennys once or twice a month. They're usually pretty consistent, and I love a good cheesesteak. Since I'll be working in downtown Memphis for the next year or so, I figured this location would become a regular stop. Unfortunately, after my second visit, it will probably be my last. First, if you can't find street parking, there's a lot directly across the street that charges $11. The parking attendant is out there waiting to write tickets, so keep that in mind if you're planning to stop by. I ordered a simple 10-inch Philly cheesesteak and a lemonade. When I went inside to pick up my order, I was told they hadn't made any lemonade that day and were completely out. To me, that's one of the main reasons people come to Lennys--the cheesesteaks and the lemonade. I ended up settling for a soft drink and took my food to go. Running out of a signature item, especially during lunch hours, isn't a great look. To top it all off, when I got back to work, I realized my sandwich hadn't even been cut in half. Normally that's a small detail, but when you're grabbing lunch during a busy workday, it's something you expect from a sandwich shop. At that point, it felt like the icing on the cake--no lemonade, expensive parking, and now I'm wrestling a full-sized cheesesteak at my desk. Overall, this location didn't live up to the consistency I've come to expect from Lennys. Between the parking situation, being out of one of their signature drinks, and the lack of attention to detail, I'll likely be looking for a different Lennys location while I'm working downtown. read more

Me and my co-worker walked in and were yelled at by the manager to put a mask on. Ummm last I checked the CDC lifted the mask ban. Sure it's private business owners' prerogative to do whatever they want, however I have been to two other Lennys in the last several weeks that didn't require it. Plus the dining room had tables and chairs stacked into a pile. There was a rude hand written note warning customers not to touch the chip bags and put them back. The same manager that yelled at us wasn't wearing a hair net or hat and had her mask below her nose. No logic whatsoever!!! The manager also got an attitude when I redeemed a VIP reward, then threw my mustard packets in the bag and didn't say anything when I said "Thank You". Corporate Lennys needs to start checking their locations. I won't be back to this Lennys either. read more

I'm a little confused about all the bad reviews for this location! It has, by far, the coolest space...downtown....on Main St....corner of Peabody...whaaat?! Perfect! Oh, and it is in a really old building and I just the love the high ceilings and cool entrance. I've never had a bad staff experience and it's Lenny's...the food is legit! I don't care if it is a chain. I literally go running so I can have one of these high caloric bad boys. AVOID AT ALL COST - So I have actually never even eaten at this location because every time I try to call in an order my call is either not answered or I'm placed on an ungodly hold. Even when I tried to go in to order my food I stood behind a couple for 15 minutes before having to leave because the workers were taking too long. This is my second time to a Lennys. My first review was not good. I had the hot Italian. Not a good experience. I stayed away from that and tried the mile high turkey. A much better experience. It was not the best sandwich I've had, but was good. The bread was fresh. I wish it had some more herbs or seasoning. Maybe that is on the list and I just didn't see it. Excellent service!!! When we walked in the room we felt welcomed! It was in a beautiful part of Memphis at night and the workers were very cheerful and amazing! i find the sandwiches at all lenny's locations to be good. i like the sandwich selections and i feel full after leaving. prices are a little bit high but again, at least it's a filling healthy-ish meal. the south main lenny's has bad service. i don't want to see cell phones, and i definitely don't want the people making the sandwiches to be talking on one while they are in front of me. also, the girl at the register was rude, at best. i must say that not every time that i eat at this location is there a bad experience. it just seems that at times, no one wants to do their job. read more

Oh Lenny's. You're there for me when I need you, but you also won't go away. I really like this Lenny's. It gets really busy at lunch. So much so that you might as well go to any of the casual sit down places in South Main. They really do have a great Philly Cheese Steak. I've had the real deal in Philly, and the ones at Lenny's don't disappoint. Most of their salads and sandwiches are good. I also love their jalapeño chips. The food has never disappointed! The staff, although, needs to learn to be more collected during the busy periods. Everyone, including the manager, seems overwhelmed and panicked; that sets the mood for the customer. The past three times I have come to pick-up an online order, it's always a struggle to find my food. This time I was told that my order wasn't received, but they found my order shortly after. This place was absolutely terrible. They got my order wrong, but it wouldn't have mattered if I asked for a new sandwich or not, because my philly cheese steak tasted like straight ass. It tasted like cafeteria lunch food. The only reason I'm giving this place a one star is because of the service. If the service was sub par I would have found a way to rate it zero. Hate to do this. First of all, let's get one thing straight, Lenny's subs are amazing and that pepper relish is on point. And the location of this particular store is accessible from pretty much anywhere DT so it's hard to beat. ...but nothing ruins an experience more than awful service, and that's a characteristic this location excels at. It didn't used to be that way but the last 4 times I've stopped in to grab a quick bite for dinner I've encountered the same 3 ladies providing the same lazy, lackluster service. If the 3 minute debate over which employee will be forced to exit the gossip circle in the corner in order to come take your order, accompanied by the loser of said debate huffing and puffing while making your sandwich to show her distaste in being the "chosen one" who actually has to work for a brief period of time, isn't enough to keep you from coming back....the ingredients you'll find missing from your sandwich when you unwrap it at home will be. All 4 visits I was the only customer in line to order and all 4 visits exceeded 10 minutes, but only after I was made painfully aware that I was interrupting what can only be described as a gal-pal pow wow taking place at a table off to the side. Although I've never heard of Lenny's, it's a typical sub place that serves hot and cold sub sandwiches. I ordered the A1 steak sandwich. I would not order this again. The bread seemed a little raw..on the pale side. I would try this restaurant again. The service wasn't exactly friendly. read more

Lenny's has a great philly cheese sub, and I love the pepper relish! Normally the only thing I ever get from here is the philly cheese. Food is always good and love that they offer call ahead orders for those working people (such as I) who only have a limited time for lunch. The only thing I would complain about is customer service.
