I went a visit with my insurance card info I provided. had my eye exam done which was done quickly but after when it was time to choose my eyeglasses they lied to me. Telling my insurance would cover the frames and lens and won't have to pay anything out of pocket. They tried telling me to new lens for my old glasses and then use the insurance to get a second frames with lens my out at the end was almost $600 dollars. At the end I got the new lens for old frames and still had to pay $150 dollars. I don't understand these promotions they offer they are completely false advertisement. read more

At first, I liked how they were patient when helping me decide my the color of my glasses frame and thought the rest of the business transaction would go smooth, but it did not happen that way. Because I ordered my pair of glasses on the day I had to leave town for San Diego, a sales associate suggested that I could get my glasses shipped. Before that though, she had to order my lenses since they were out of stock and told me that it would take 1 business day. Once they have arrived, I know that Lenscrafters takes a couple of hours to finalize your prescriptioned glasses. So I was estimating it would take around 1-2 days for that. Finally, the shipping of the glasses I assumed would take around 3-4 days. So pretty much, it would take a week for my glasses to arrive at SD. I was fine with waiting, but what I was NOT HAPPY about was the fact that the sales associate reassured me that she would call me when the lenses arrived, when the finished product gets shipped out, and when the finished product gets to the local Lenscrafters in SD. I've waited for over a week and I haven't heard anything from them at all. I panicked since I paid a lot for my pair of glasses and had to call them for an update on its whereabouts. When calling them, I kept getting placed on hold. I don't understand why it was necessary for them to place me on hold when all they needed was to tell me where my glasses were. But of course, they were too busy trying to attract more customers so they could gain more profits. It just seems like once they got your money, their service for you dwindles down. I was told that their system crashed and I understand, but couldn't they have taken 5 mins out of their work to just give me a call about an update of my glasses once the system was back up running? That would be nice and reassuring for the customer!!! I was slightly angered when I spoke to them on the phone, they told me to call the local Lenscrafters store myself to see if my glasses have arrived. BUT BUT BUT THEY HAD SAID AT THE BEGINNING THAT THEY WOULD CALL FOR ME. WTF?! I haven't received a call from the local lenscrafter in SD yet and that worries me too because you'd think they give you a call once your glasses have arrived their store...unless they have not been arrived yet and got lost in the shipping...which is worse. When I got my glasses from Costco, at least they had the courtesy to call you when they were ready. Their glasses name may not be a big brand, but at least their service was better than Lenscrafters's at Topanga Mall. Anyway, I'm hoping to get my glasses some time this week in good term and that the local Lenscrafters here in SD provides me better service. Horrible service and completely disorganized. Months ago we ordered contacts and no matter how many appointments we make, when we come in there is some issue. We had to go to three locations to finally be able to use our insurance because the other two didn't have it in the system. Staff is helpful in navigating the back entrance to the store and the optometrist was personable. A sign in the counter said 14 days. 16 days out and my glasses aren't ready. It would be easier if their stories were consistent. First they shipped Wednesday, then they were preparing to ship Saturday, then the customer service person said it was 14 business days. Now they should be here by September 4th. The delay would be understandable if they took the time to "get their stories straight." The last person I spoke with was disrespectful and dismissive. I had some concerns, and she took the time to thoroughly explain and examine these concerns, in a manner that I clearly understood. Awful experience. Definitely can raise the bar on their customer service, and being organized. It took them 2 months to order a pair of contacts for me to try on for them to size. They never returned my voicemails and when I did get ahold of them, they had me on hold for over 15 minutes. I went back to finally size the contacts and I wanted to purchase glasses. I took a picture of the glasses I tried on the last time I was there, mind you, 2 MONTHS later because they can't coordinate nor communicate properly within their practice. The woman asks me, are you sure these are even here? Mam, it says Topanga Westfield Mall at the top of the picture's location, then said she could maybe order me the pair. You know what.... This place is horrible, i went there with severe dry eyes, i was seen by 2 optometrists, each gave me a different prescription, one gave a super strong prescription, the other one a weaker, and added progressive lenses. And she gave me contacts to wear and said its up to me if i want to wear contacts or glasses. 2 days after i got my glasses and contacts i could barely open my eyes and was severely sensitive to light. I made an appointment with another optometrist, got my eyes checked the same way they checked my eyes at lens crafters, the new optometrist told me i have inflamed cornea, or medical term SPK, severe dryness and i should not wear contacts under no circumstances. If I wouldn't have gotten second opinion i am not sure what would've happened. Save your time and do not go to this place, they charged a lot for their services and did nothing, and now i have to go through the process all over again but this time with prolonged treatment and eye pain for their negligence. read more

She seemed happy to help a family that was in there but didn't even wanna try and help me even though I asked kindly and respectfully. Not sure what it is about me that made her not want to help, but she was very short and unpleasant. OMG. I've spent thousands of dollars at LensCrafters in the past. The store employees are nice enough but wholly powerless if a problem arises. Kim is the regional manager and is totally unaccommodating and cold hearted. Their store manager is similarly powerless. Came for an exam at this location yesterday. This was my first ever experience at a Lens Crafters. They are taking appointments right now and are implementing social distancing and have a safe process of how to enter and exit, as well as, how they do your exam and even for trying on frames. Auri (hopefully that's spelled correctly) did my intake and went through all the different testing with me and she was very very sweet. She made sure she cleaned everything thoroughly and explained things well. I then met Dr. Jenny Park and she was wonderful. Very thorough and professional but also very warm and easy to talk to. She answered all my questions in a way I could understand and made great recommendations. Overall, a great experience and kind customer service here. read more

They have a horrible service at this location. I ordered two sets of glasses (+$800). One was ready in 5 weeks and one in 8 weeks. One pair did not work at all, too blurry. I took them back the lady who worked there said I should probably get smaller frames and that should help, not sure why I wasn't told that when I ordered the first pair!?! Plus I have prescribed sunglasses that have much bigger frames but never had problems with them. I Ordered a new pair with smaller frames, 7 weeks later I called them and asked why they are not ready yet. The guy put me on hold for 8 min came back and said they have been ready for 2 weeks. I asked why I didn't get a call and he said he is not sure. Went to the store to pick them up, the younger guy came back to me and asked me to spell my name 3 times after 15 min and having all 3 staff looking for my glasses, he came and said they had my first name as my last name and that's why they couldn't find them. Asked him why I didn't get a call when they were ready he said he remembers calling me and leaving me a message. I showed him my voice mailbox and that I had no miss call or messages from them then he claimed my voice mail is full???? Which is not. And also they have no record of my previous glasses and I've been using LensCrafters for the past 9 years. read more

Shipping is taking forever, 40% off lenses is BS. I was told I'd have my glasses in 2 weeks, then I was told they would arrive on Tuesday 04/10 on. On Tuesday I was told my order was shipped and they wouldn't be arriving until Friday 04/13. 04/13 I call to ask if they have arrived yet and now they told me that the order status was just changed to "shipped" this morning and they wouldn't be arriving until 04/16 or 04/17. The optometrist was great! Now as for the BS 40% off with a purchase of a frame... My total came out to be 900+ (minus the check up) for the frame and lenses. The "40%" put me at 600+. HOWEVER, when I went onto they Ray Ban website to check the price my total came out to 600+ same prescription, same frame, no discounts, no promotions. Oh, they're also delivered within 5 business days... not 3 weeks! Bottom line if you're getting your eyes checked go for it, the optometrist was amazing; save yourself the hassle and purchase your glasses elsewhere. Also I wanted to add that I had a frame (ray ban) that I wanted and they didn't have it because it was a display. So I asked if they had that frame available and they said yes but they gave me a frame that was a lot more round, when I brought it up she said "oh yeah it's more round but it's better since you got progressives." So I told her that I'd look for another frame. After looking for 5-10 minutes she finally decided to go order the frame online. read more

This is Ridiculous my husband and myself I've been waiting for her glasses which would you to arrive the day prior to the coronavirus shut down. The website said that they were opening May 4. I had a great experience at this location! Susie helped me most of the time and did some of the tests with me and she was fantastic! She made me super comfortable even though I was a bit nervous and has a great personality and customer service in my opinion. She made looking for my glasses fun, taking pictures of me so I could see myself best, it was a blast and she never once made me feel pressured into getting anything. She genuinely wanted me to walk out feeling great about the glasses I picked out and I definitely did!! So thank you, Susie! I absolutely love my new ray bans and they were affordable too. Also, they only took three days to be ready after I ordered them (I got some special lenses), so that was awesome as well! Matt was absolutely incredible,( I believe that was his name) he kept calling me "my friend" which is totally welcoming. He is absolutely amazing! Such a friendly and hard working guy. When I went there, they were really busy and he was trying to hard to help everyone all at once. I have never been treated so rudely in a retail environment. There was one employee in the store when I got there and he was helping a customer. He did not acknowledge me at all, didn't even look up. After two minutes I approached him and asked if there was anyone else who could help me. He told me there was and they would be out in a few minutes. I heard someone using tape in the back and went around the corner to see an employee taping boxes and files. I asked her if there was someone that could help me. She looked at me like I had three heads and told me to have a seat and wait and someone would be with me soon. Apparently these files were more important than helping a customer, and the look she gave me was extremely offensive. Noe, the team leader, came out from the back and was so kind and helpful. He handled my repair immediately and was very friendly. I told him about his colleagues and he was apologetic. I will never return to this store and encourage others to avoid as well. They are opening another location in the mall soon and hopefully will have staff that knows how to treat people. read more

I've always purchased my glasses from this Lenscrafters location and have always received exemplary and professional service. Lenscrafters has an excellent selection of frames and a courteous staff. Every purchase I've made has been seamless. The associates are very helpful in helping me select the right frames that make me look my best. You can have your glasses ready in one hour which is an excellent perk. I've purchased regular lenses and sunglasses and have never been disappointed with the result. read more

Absolutely awful. I spent over $1,000 on glasses. When I went to pick up my glasses I talked to Dr. Park about concerns I had with my prescription. Dr. Park was impatient and told me that making any changes to the prescription early on, would be a waste of her time. I tried wearing the glasses 24/7 as recommended for over a week. During that time, my vision was worse with the glasses than when I wore my $20 drug store readers, I was dizzy, and I constantly had to lay down due to headaches. Today, I decided to return the glasses. David argued with me about my return, told me he had to make sure his manager "was good with it". (I'm within my 30 days returning good as new glasses.) When David printed out the return receipt and asked me to sign their copy, he got upset when I wanted to examine the receipt. I also told David that I was not provided with a copy of my prescription and asked if he could print one for me. David insisted that I was provided with a copy and that I must have lost it. He then asked me which of my two prescriptions I wanted even though I only ever had one. He showed me to prescriptions on the computer explaining in a condescending manner that the two numbers were drastically different so obviously it's not the same prescription. When I said, fine, just print me both, he said I can't , there's only one prescription, the other one is pending! So what was that whole back and forth about two prescriptions?!? Again, absolutely horrid experience. I highly recommend going ANYWHERE else. read more

I wish that I could leave no star for Dr. Jenny Park. My 27 year old daughter had her exam right before I did and Jenny offered up information about my daughter's exam while I was having mine. She told me that my daughter declined the $90 review of the retinal scans they had already done. She said, "You're her mom and you can overrule her." She then told me that it would be $49 for her to go over my own retinal scan. I have never had to pay extra for that diagnostic. When my daughter asked her why she shared her information with another patient, she said she did not know it would be a problem. read more

Please do not go to LensCrafters. After purchasing 2 expensive pairs of glasses with prescriptions i had a very bad customer service experience couple days ago. My pair of Ray/Ban sunglasses (prescription) got damage by the sun. I try to explain to the sale person that i am using my sunglasses while driving,walking and playing tennis with. In my mind sunglasses is for wearing outside with the sun. Anyway, refuse to do nothing with that they told me that i will have to purchase new lenses. ($500). Now, thought about it for a month then went back and decided to have LensCrafters made them again. A sale person took my order and give me a choice between new lenses with my old frame (ray an) or for $10 more i can have a new pair of glasses. I told her i will take a look to the inventory on the wall. I look for few minutes came back to her and found out by the other sale person that she left for the day. She already clock out without letting me know. So the other sale person told me to sit down and someone will be with me in few minutes. Waiting 15-20mn on a chair and she called someone else. Couldn't believe it! I was waiting waiting for nothing in the middle of my order. She had every information. She told me that i have to wait my turn which i was the second person in the store. I told her that it was bad customer service and i left. DO NOT GO THERE!!! Waste of my time!! Found out that my doctor (eye doctor office/optician ) replace the lenses with same frame cheaper than Lens Crafters.... Here we go!!! read more

All if a couple hours you can get an eye exam and get a set of specks. I was to start of by letting you know I did this process with insurance. My Insurance covers $137 on frames. Had an appointment at 12:00, got an eye exam and it was all eye over around 20 mins later. Paid $40 I believe to do an eye scan instead of having my eye dilated (didn't want blurry vision for 2-3 hours) this wasn't covered by my insurance. After I got my prescription I spent the next couple hours hanging out looking for some new specks. I took polls and everyone weighed in what looked good and what didn't. A little over an hour after finding frames I got my new glasses with my new prescription. My frames were about $165. I did opt for insurance on the frames which was $34.99. My total cost was $130.99 after my insurance. If you don't like your glasses you have 30 days to change your mind. Overall I had a great experience. read more

I got my glasses 6 months ago; they offered me to upgrade to Poly carbonate one which would be more strong! I accepted and paid more. I didn't purchase insurance for them. After just 4 months, I found 2 deep scratches! I use glasses for 20+ years and NEVER happened to have scratch! I went there and they said since I didn't purchase insurance, they can not do anything for me! I talked with my friend who is optometrist in other city and he said Poly carbonate is softer! however it should have one time replacement/year. I sent their customer service an e-mail to see how they wanna handle (almost 2 months ago) but they NEVER answered me back! Ok, whoever wants to get glasses, go to COSTCO, their prices for the same frame and lens is way less than other places and they replace lenses one time/year for free. My sun glasses frame was broken ( I sat on it :( ). I bought my glasses from some other store. I took it to that store, and they couldnt fit it, they told me to go Lenscrafters. They fixed my glasses in 1 hour, like brand new, and they didnt charge anything. They told me they do it free for customer satisfaction even though I wasnt their customer. I always have trouble finding a pair of prescription glasses that I don't have to constantly push back up my face as they slide down my nose. I've gotten glasses at Costco, at my doctors office and never once have I heard that glasses come in sizes.. I was helped by Auri today and she was so helpful and made my experience here a good one. I told her about how I've never had success with glasses and that they were always too big on my face. This amazing woman searched the entire store for glasses that would fit my face. It was decided that I was a size 50/51. She looked in all the designer glasses sections, went to the back to adjust the frames that weren't fitting properly, and finally she found me a great pair of Ray bans. I am so happy with my glasses, I've never had glasses that fit me this well before! And the best part is that LensCrafters can get them fitted with my prescription in about an hour and a half! And they are able to apply your insurance to the purchase of the frames and lenses! Also Auri informed me that if my glasses are ever feeling loose and need adjustment, I can just head on over to LensCrafters and they'll adjust them for me for free! Every time I come to LensCrafters, I told myself I will never go here again. To be clear, I'm referring to I exam 2000, the doctors office inside of LensCrafters. Why have never had a problem with the doctor For the level of professionalism or care I received from the doctor, I'm always surprised at how long I have to wait before I get to see the doctor, regardless of when my appointment was set for. This is seemingly a problem because of corporate - I am assuming that they allow for multiple appointments to be set for the same time, assuming that some patients would not show up. However, when all the patients to show up, which seems like every time I am there, I have to wait a long time before seeing the doctor. I even feel bad writing this review because the staff and the doctors are always very friendly and eager to help. It just seems like the corporate structure of overbooking the appointments And short staffing store leads to frustration every time I go there. Nevertheless, because the LensCrafters it is located inside of the Topanga Mall, I always find myself getting my contacts, glasses, and I doctor appointment at LensCrafters. Like I said, they always do a great job, it is just always really really frustrating to have to wait a really really long time. read more
