This LensCrafters changed ownership towards the end of 2013 and the new ownership is great! My husband and I came here while we were on vacation and he had the best experience with the doctor as well as the staff. They went out of their way to help us get what we needed to get by for the rest of vacation and set us up for a longer term solution when we went home which was great, especially considering that we were from out of town and we likely never returning again. I been to this Lenscrafter and the one in alamoana. I would definitely recommend everyone to go to the Kahala location. Just as everyone else said, this is THE BEST lenscrafter on the island.The associates are friendly and they really care about their customers. I had bad experience at the alamoana location. The girl that was helping me with me with picking up my order obviously didn't care about how she adjusted my glasses (she bent it any old way to get me out of the store). Went in to see about a contact lens fitting. Asked the price, remembering it was somewhere around 120 (or so I had been told previously) and the person at the desk just kept telling me "its around 280" "its around 300." When a potential customer comes in and asks you the price of something, you figure it out if you do not know for sure. I left that store so irritated! If you can't (and won't) tell me the price, what makes you think you will get my business?! read more

I just purchased a pair of glasses there at the Kahala store. The staff is awesome ! They are very knowledgeable and helpful. I couldn't be more pleased with my eye exam with Dr Jodi. She was very professional and thorough. The sales associate , Alexa was very helpful and patient choosing a pair that matched me, in comfort and looks! Maybe I hit it on a non-friendly night. I was not impressed with the help at all ... I felt like I was bothering them by being there. I finally found a pair of glasses that I liked. The girl said my lenses were 40% off but there were signs all over the store showing that lenses were 50% with the purchase of frames. After having a pretty frustrating experience with the AlaMoana location and walking out. I decided to come here to Kahala and I'm super happy I did. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and immediately was helped with everything I needed in a very no pressure fashion. I will come here from now on for everything I need with prescription glasses. I'm pretty sure the guy's that helped me was Christian and he was great. It's been twelve years since my last pair of prescription eyeglasses. My Oakley's had served me well but the lenses were pealing and cracked, the unobtanium ear pieces had been replaced numerous times as well as the nose piece. It was sadly time to retire them! I actually stopped by LensCrafters because I had a long wait at Kuru Kuru Sushi and happened to see a pair of Prada frames that I liked. I decided to drop by after dinner and check them out when I had more time. After dinner I went back to LensCrafters and was helped by Wilson. Wilson showed me the Prada frames I was interested in, got a kick out of my story of not wanting to part with my beat up Oakley frames and asked if I wanted to look at more similar frames. He must have pulled out another dozen frames before I saw a pair of Oakley frames I liked as well as the Prada's. They fit me well and actually had a much more casual look that I could wear more often than the Prada's. Wilson then had me sit down and carefully adjusted them for me and sure enough I was really pleased with the look and fit. I had been carrying around my prescription for about three months in my wallet and Wilson checked it out and said they were pretty easy to make and he'd have them available the next day for pick up since it was nearing closing time. First thing the next day I dropped by LensCrafters and was allowed the opportunity to test fit my glasses again and make sure the prescription was correct. It was amazing to look through clear lenses again! HA! The world was much clearer than it's been in years! I will definitely drop by LensCrafters again! I definitely won't wait till my glasses are beaten up and cracked! Hopefully Wilson will be there because he made my shopping experience super! His suggestions and fitting were definitely the plus in my purchase! read more

This is a long overdue review. I am very selective when purchasing my glasses which average $650 AFTER insurance. Lense Crafters Kahala is the best place to go for excellent service. After 17 years of great service, I encountered the worst service on my last visit. I waited 15 minutes to be acknowledged, only to have another customer walk through the door and have a sales clerk look up at just the right moment to say she'd be right with him. After finishing up what she was doing she asked to help him. I very politely said I was next. She snickered and apologized to the other customer. She was quite rude the whole time she helped me. Not the caliber of service I expect when only three months earlier they were only too happy to take my $900. for my eyeglasses. Clearly this clerk is in dire need of customer service training. read more

AARP members with medicare are offered an eye exam for $50. AARP listed Kahala Lenscrafters, among others, that perform this service. I followed the links and made my appointment online. When I went for my exam, I was told it would be $132 and there was a 20% discount for AARP seniors, not a $50 exam. Well, you made nothing on my empty appointment and will never get one cent from me. read more

I'm giving three stars because if I give only one star, my review will supposedly be removed. First of all, my glasses frames were ruined by one of the sales associates. As she removed the fake lenses, the frame was bent slightly out of place. Although it is not noticeable from waaaaaaaaay far away, it affects my vision. I can see the outer frame more on one eye than the other, not to mention that it looks like someone smacked me in the face with a book because it is so uneven on my face. Another sales associate gave me my glasses four days later and claimed they were made like that upon my commenting. This associate was fairly nice but seemed to be passive aggressive on things. He tried to help me the very first time I came to this LensCrafters but had trouble with my insurance. He said to let him know if I liked any frames and that they would put any one of them on hold for me until next time. He stared me down like a hawk the entire time. When I finally found a pair I liked and asked to put it on hold, he said, "let me check," and then said, "unfortunately not." This really upset me. If you cannot put an item on hold for a customer, then don't tell them that anything can be put on hold. If it is not on sale, then why put it on display just to disappoint them and make them resume their journey on finding another pair that they like? I am very upset with the LensCrafters at Kahala. It made me want to go back to the LensCrafters at Ala Moana . read more

Didn't get my glasses from here but stopped here to get my glasses adjusted since they kept slipping and this place is the most convenient for me. the staff was so nice about it even tho I didn't purchase my glasses from them and made my glasses a perfect fitting for me. I'm pleased to see so many good reviews regarding shopping for glasses at LensCrafters in Kahala Mall. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. Looking for a pair of glasses, I waited for the only sales person in the store who was assisting another customer. Now it can take up to 30 minutes to fit a person with glasses - reviewing the prescription, measuring the various facial features, determining the proper placement of bifocals, etc. Shortly after I arrived, four other customers came in. Now there were five of us waiting, which could have been more than an hour or more for the last customer who arrive. I inquired if the clerk was the only one working and she said the manager was taking a break. There were two clerks behind the counter where the optometrist had his office. One was just sitting drinking coffee. She said she didn't work in the other department but would call the manager. This manager came out after another 10 minutes and said "who's next". No apology for keeping all of us waiting, except to say "Sorry about that". This was a holiday weekend by the way and the mall was really crowded. Didn't the manager anticipate a busy day? Why only one sales clerk in duty with a manager periodically helping when not taking breaks? I elected to go elsewhere and spent $450 for new glasses. A sale lost to LensCrafters. And I most likely will not return for my next replacement. Bad experience, unconcerned management = lost customer. Too bad. read more

My overall experience went well. The frame part of the shop...they could have a more flashy set of frames....still selected something nice....the service was friendly...the lens were too strong and had to go back to get them changed....my initial contact was not pleasant but it soon turned out well after several minutes....I did have to get my eyes reexamined for 42 dollars...didn't like that but....whatever...I ended with a nice new pair of glasses and the overall service was nice....I would recommend to others.... read more
