I come here annually for my daughter and each time the service is great. I always book an appointment online prior. Lots of designer options. At my most recent visit we were told my daughter's glasses would be ready for pick up within 2 hours so we shopped around the mall, had lunch, and got a text when they were ready. I have been a customer for about 7 years. I liked the eye doctor. I always make my appt 1 year in advance. In Nov. 2021 I got there early like always. I had clicked the confirm appt email i'd gotten. What blew my mind was how the 2 employees told me everything I must have done wrong... You don't have an appt, your at the wrong store, you didn't confirm. Not once did they say Oh let's get u an appt as soon as possible, not once sorry for the inconvinience,Just how wrong I was. So apparently they don't want customers who book a year early, show up early, spend $$$ to get all the extras they offer. Came into Plaza Bonita location on March 20, 2024 and ordered a pair of glasses. I was quoted I would receive in 7-10 days. I came in to store on March 30, 2024 to see if glasses were ready. I was told that glasses were in. They said they need to be put together and to come back in 1 hour. I received a call and was told that lens manufacturer sent 2 right lens and I would have to wait until next week. Terrible service. I will never use this company again. read more

I should have read the reviews before booking an appointment. There was a lack of accountability for what was promised. We went there specifically to make sure we would receive the glasses same day since we brought the frame he wanted. The salesman decided to upsell a more expensive lens that needed to be ordered. After waiting an hour and then returning to pick up, he said he never told us it would be ready same day, so we wasted our time waiting. He then said it would take a week to receive, I should have known better, it was almost three weeks without even a follow up call to let me know it would be delayed. Serious lack of customer service and in need of training to better listen to your customer needs and request. Do not go to this location, we will be going to their other locations going forward. I've come here out of convenience. The pricing was never great. The selection of frames is decent. But I will never bring my family here again. I won't pretend to be low maintenance. I spend quite a bit every year and I don't mind to pay for service. We had our annual appointments. We were given wrong times than we booked. We had to fix that then had to sign online numerous times. But what thew it over the edge was the horrible service from the so called manager. I came here a few days before my sons eye surgery to do a warranty fix on his current glasses because they were scratched up and I just wanted to drop them off over night so he has new lens on his frames for after surgery. I came about 15 minutes before closing. The two girls sitting behind the main counter just looked at us displeased with us coming in and did not genuinely welcome us. I told them that I was here to drop off my sons glasses to have them repaired. One of the girls gave me a weird look and said that their lab (I don't recall the exact word) was closed. I said I figured it was closed I can get them tomorrow whenever the glasses are ready for pick up. I asked for the total and she said it was $25. I started to pull out cash and she said "oh I already counted the register for the night". I work retail and I know that there is always at least one drawer open for cash. To me, it seems as she was too lazy to count the drawer again. So, to be honest, I just gave her my debit card and finished the transaction and left. The service here was overall poor because I honestly felt unwanted there. The reason this review even has 3 stars is because the glasses were fixed in a timely manner and I was happy with the fix. I honestly prefer going to the mission valley location because they have always had better service but this one was closer home to my family. If I can give it no stars I would. For one, if I'm paying almost $1400 out of pocket up front for blue light, and insurance of my 3 pairs of glasses. They would have the decency to call me and let me know what is going on. I was told an hour until they are ready, that was at 5pm, got the txt message at 6:30 and gave them a call just to double check. I was told by the person on the phone to wait for 3 txt messages. I did. 8:30pm rolls around and they close at 9pm. I started making my way to them, making it there close to 8:50pm, still no call. I walked in and proceeded to ask if my glasses are ready because I'm picking them up. The girl looked lost and the other girl just sat there, didn't bother helping while blasting music on here phone. The person from the back comes out saying my Georgio Armani's will have to be ordered and will take up to 7 days. The only ones ready are my other Armani's and Versace. Proceeds to tell me he would of called me but my contact number was all 0's. How in the hell is that possible when I got one txt out of the 3!!! At this point I'm livid at their customer service. As I try my other set of Armani's, they were bent and already scratched. Ok, I didn't just pay almost $400 for these glasses to be given to me all messed up already. I advised the young lady and she stood up to go address the situation, I can hear her say behind the door, "Ok, now he's saying the glasses are bent". I'm sorry, am I complaining to much for a product that's already expensive? Yes, I'm going to address this issue and ask questions. The gentleman comes out this time, I told him to place an order of new Armani's I'm not paying all that money for already scratched Armani's. He said they gave me the ones on display....Absolutely disrespectful of my time and the ODASITY to think I'll walk out with already damaged $400 glasses and complete disregard of contacting me. I was shopping for prescription sun glasses at The LensCrafters located inside of Macy's at Plaza Bonita. And they had signs posted everywhere saying 40% off. I chose a pair and asked what the discounted price would be. When I received a quote I inquired about the 40% off they were advertising. The lady in charge stated that didn't apply to sunglasses. I pointed out that the signage clearly was advertising the entire sunglasses section with 40% off. The sales lady stated that was a "corporate thing" but that sunglasses were not included. I again pointed out the placement of the the discount signage and generally accepted norms of advertising. Never go to this location. Absolutely worst customer service. At least have the decency to tell me that my insurance is out of network and don't lie to me that it doesn't matter if it is. It'll save everyone's time. Instead of encouraging me to pay $50 for a contact lens exam that I know should be covered by my insurance. I kept telling them that my contact lens exam should only be a $10 copay and asked if it mattered if my insurance was out of network. The associate was very accusatory and would say stuff like, "well, you paid the $50 last year, you don't remember?" At this point it wasn't really about the money but how I was treated as a person. I really don't mind spending more money for extra add on's for the best quality glasses but of course I want to utilize my insurance the best I can. Please take the time to actually listen to your customers and what their situation is. She had me go through the whole processes of waiting for the doctor, getting the pre test for my eyes and taking my contacts off. It wasn't until I was in the doctor's chair that she suggested calling my insurance. But even then, the doctor was telling me that it shouldn't matter if my insurance was out of network. They honestly just want to make the sale. At least treat people with respect if you're going to take their money. I went to Eye Care of Bonita instead and they actually took the time to listen and answer all my questions and was very understanding of how confusing insurance can be. When asking me what type of lens I wanted she didn't suggest what type because she didn't want me to spend more than I wanted to. Instead she showed me the different prices and let me choose from there. I was very happy to spend my money on the most expensive one. read more

Never coming back! 1. Unprofessional Had to come in a few times and each time I felt like the employees never gave me their full attention because they were busy playing pranks on each other. At some point an employee was dropping what looked like paper clips down the back of his coworkers shirt while he was assisting me. Really awkward. 2. Unorganized Information I was given over the phone was completely different from information I was given in the store about picking up my contacts and seeing a doctor. I still don't know what their actual policy is regarding testing contact lenses. In addition to that, as the employee was handing me my contacts, his coworker stopped him and asked him to finish up helping another customer without even acknowledging me. I stood there for over 5 minutes while he helped this lady. Afterwards he simply handed me my contacts and said I was good to go. Such a waste of time. 3. Wrong prescription The contacts weren't working for me so I scheduled another appt to see if the prescription was off. I was seen by a different doctor this time so I let her know my concerns. She did a quick exam and instructed that I try two different brands of contacts. I asked if the prescription was different and she said no. She was also mumbling about how unusually high my prescription was in a tone that felt almost insulting.. and that I probably wouldn't qualify for corrective surgery (not true). All 3 different contacts did not work for me so I ended up going to my old optometrist. Turns out LensCrafters had my prescription all wrong. I'd go back to try for a refund but I really just don't want to step foot in there ever again. Waste of time and money. read more

I came in for an exam for glasses and contacts and paid cash for everything because I duo not have insurance. The associate who helped me was nice because she was trying to get me the best deals. I purchased some coach glasses and they even had this computer program set up where they can measure the fit of the frames to your face. I also asked to purchase a 6 month supply of contacts. When it got confusing was that I had to pay separate transactions for everything. The most important thing I wanted was the contacts because the glasses I just wanted for backup. I asked the girl helping me twice to make sure I got charged for the contacts and she said I did. I wait two weeks I call and my order isn't in. I call 3 weeks after and asked if I got charged for them, they said yes so I wait. I call a month later and they tell me I never got charged for them. I have the glasses at least but they are way too tight and give me a headache if I wear them for more than an hour. I paid over 500 for everything and I feel like I got ripped off. The worst service I've ever received. They're completely unprofessional. Every time I set up an appointment, hardly ever am I seen right away. It takes 45 minutes minimum just to see the doctor even if I've made an appointment, which makes setting that up completely useless. I've also ordered contacted lenses through them and it took me a month just to get them in because somehow, they shipped it to the wrong address and never really took the time or corrective action to get them to where it was supposed to go. 5 calls later, I still didn't get the problem fixed that they had to re-order the contact lenses and instead of sending it to my apartment (which was supposed to be convenient) I had to pick it up at the store - which was a waste of both my time and the money spent on the contact lenses they never found that got shipped to the wrong place. I also asked for a copy of my prescription after not being able to find my current prescription so that I could purchase glasses. When I came in to get a copy of them, I was given a copy of my prescription that was written TWO YEARS AGO, and I've certainly have had an updated prescription since then. This place is a total waste of time. I don't know how many hours I've lost of my life because of the fact that they can't get their act together and get simple things done. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE! went here on a busy saturday and i didn't have an appointment. i was probably waiting 5-10 minutes in the store before someone was able to help me, but as soon as i got someone it went smooth. i told the girl (Amanda) my insurance, what i needed and my budget for whatever my insurance doesn't cover and she was extremely helpful. She was also able to fit me in for an appointment at the time. However, the eye doctor that examined me was somewhat bipolar. At times he would be nice, and other times he'd say sarcastic comments. For example: (We'll call him ED for now) ED: When's the last time you got your eyes checked? Me: 2007 ED: That's not good, you should be getting it every year Me: Yea, i know...but I did alot of moving and at times didn't have insurance to cover ED: But still, you should have got examined every year. Your ruining your eyes Me: Yea, but not everyone can afford that luxury. It's not like its a cheap thing to do ED: You're going to regret it Me: If you guys lower your price or my insurance decides to cover me 100% then we'll see. ED: I'll just keep my comments to myself, it's your life anyways Me: Yea, you do that I would have given this place a 5-Star rating, but I took 2 away because of the sarcastic doctor and the expensive prices. But, AMANDA, the girl that helped me def deserves a 5-Star rate for her excellent customer service. She even booked me for my next annual eye exam next year. She was helping me and a few other customers in the store and she was able to juggle all of us so that none of us were left waiting forever. She was also able to sell me a pair of sunglasses for less than $13 (original price $179) ...apparently my insurance covered a majority of it. SWEET! I had no idea until she told me. Thanks woman! Anyways, one box Fresh Looks eye contacts were $29.95. I could def get that cheaper online or at Walmart...but I needed them asap because I was walkin around San Diego nearly blind for about 24 hours LMFAO. They even gave me free eye solution and a pair of clear eye contacts. The whole entire process took about 2 1/2 hours. I was okay with it, but my kids and hubster were kinda bored, restless and hungry. Although we were in Plaza Bonita Mall and they could run a muck while I was in LensCrafters...I forgot my cell phone at home LOL so they had to ride it out with me in the LensCrafter store haha oops read more

Going in here I was kind of anxious because I see the lens crafters commercials and don't know what to expect. So I chose this location because it is the closest location to me and my brother said I could get contacts for cheaper. I walked in, both receptionists greeted me and one of them helped me right away. I couldn't catch her name but she was the an asian girl with multiple piercings on one ear and light colored hair. I told her that my brother got contacts from here and she asked me for my prescription and my dads insurance. I ended up bringing up and email with my prescription and she gladly accepted it. She was also able to bring my my insurance very quickly. It turns out that my insurance covers a lot of the fees so I was able to get a year supply of contacts only for $45! I was pretty happy after hearing from my go to place that a year supply is around $200 :\ thank you LensCrafters! read more

I came here last year to get eye glasses and contacts prescription and purchased the glasses here as well. I decided to come back again this past weekend since they would have my records from my visit of 2014. I had an appointment set for 12:40, did not get scene by the actual dr until 1:34. The girl who did all the checking in did all the test with my contacts, once she was finished she said "oh you didn't have contacts on right?" I aaid "yes I did" and she said "shoot. I shouldn't have done that" I then got scene by the dr who sent two girls to look for my records, my records were missing. They couldn't find them. It was such a bad experience!!!!
