I've been a loyal customer at LensCrafters in the Westchester Mall for over 5 years, but after today, I won't be returning. I had a 6:00 PM appointment and arrived on time, only to be told there were multiple people ahead of me and that the wait would be about an hour. That completely defeats the purpose of scheduling an appointment. If appointments aren't going to be honored, what's the point of offering them? At the very least, a courtesy call or message to let me know my appointment was running an hour behind would have saved me the trip I wasted my time of driving there and they lost a long time customer. read more

Despite my previous negative review a couple of years ago... My experience this time was wonderful! Emily is awesome. Everything was perfect. Great selection, great service. Not cheap but you get what you pay for. Well worth it. My glasses were ready in less than a week, and were perfect. read more

Horrible experience, I walked in to pick up an online order. 3 people saw walk in not one greeted or told me someone would be with me shortly one of which was the manager. One rep asked me what I was needing after me standing their looking lost. I said picking up and order once she found my order, she just handed me the shipping box and walked away she did not ask me if I wanted to try them on or see if they needed adjustment. I opened the box and tried them on and walked out mind you this is on a Tuesday afternoon at 1pm. Lenscrafter will never get my business or see me again in the Westchester mall again read more

It is a chaotic place - no real queue for customers. But once you latch on to a customer rep, they work with you until you find what you want and need. Great selection - wide variety from values to style. Great prices. read more

This was my second time here for an eye exam. I should have gone elsewhere after my first poor experience with the staff last year, but didn't want to start over somewhere else. The doctors are fine. Dr Won is a fast talker but friendly and does a good job. The staff isn't great (not on the sales side of Lenscrafters - this is the eye doctor part in the back). They don't seem to understand how insurance works. My exam should have been $70 according to my insurance company but I was charged over $90. I'll now have to sort that out with the insurance company. While the store is requiring masking and has air blowers to circulate the air, the waiting area in the back makes it impossible to socially distance. And they didn't check temperatures until several of us had been sitting for quite a while. I didn't have my temperature checked until after the PA did her initial intake, blew air in my eyes and took pictures. They didn't check my husband until he was already in the exam room. Scheduling was a mess. We were supposed to have two appts back to back and they stuck someone in between us, so I didn't get seen for almost 30 min later than when I was scheduled. read more

Very poor experience. Waited over 2 hours to spend less than 15 minutes with the doctor and 2 confused assistants who were not familiar with the instruments. Then was clumsily shown the breakout of the bill on paper and not given a legible receipt. Was incorrectly charged more than my past 2 year visits to Lenscrafters and was instructed that I was only allowed contact lenses or frames. I called my insurance after to confirm and they said the doctor was incorrect. When I asked for a quote on frames without insurance the doctor rushed me to pay for the contact lenses because it was the end of her shift and she had to run. I wasted half my day and was given very unaccommodating and unprofessional treatment. Will not be revisiting this office. read more

Like the other reviews mention, DO NOT GO to this place! It is a rip off. I went there to get my eye exam, and they charged me $40 for a $10 exam, because they did some extra tests that I refused to get done two times. The nurse and the doctor told me different reasons why they did the exam. Its horrible, they definitely charge more money for contact lens prescription than other places. It is not worth going there in my opinion read more

Very unfortunate experience at Lens Crafters in White Plains. I've never posted a bad review, but this was so wrong on so many levels. I had an eye exam and purchased 2 pairs of px. glasses. I contacted them 1 1/2 months after I picked up my glasses to share that the visibility just wasn't as sharp and clear as my previous pair. I unfortunately made the assumption that it was possibly an adjustment period I needed to make from my old to my new glasses. But that just wasn't the case. I contacted them to see if I could bring them back for another more accurate exam and adjustment to these glasses that cost over $1000. (+ insurance). They shared that the glasses had to be brought back within 30 days for any adjustment to be made, and that there was nothing they could do to help since I was 15 days past their "30 day policy". Wow. :(,... Lesson learned. Don't waste your money on these pathetic "eye wear" corporate chains. They most definitely do not have the expertise they claim, and do not have your best interest at heart. read more

Very, very bad experience. With belief I could have glasses quickly made and take advantage of an advertised 40% off sale I went here and WHAT A MISTAKE! Had to have my eyes examined so needed to return 3 days later for a scheduled appointment and after they called requesting confirmation by me, never bothered to call with advise they were running VERY late; I waited over 2 hours for exam. The exam was very rushed and multiple times I needed to tell them "no exam other than what's needed for glasses and contacts." After eye exam I was required to try on sample contacts with updated prescription. They were blurry, unable to see I was initially told "your eyes just need to adjust." Surprise...it was the wrong prescription n fit, needing different presciption n contacts. (Also overheard more than 1 customer come in complaining about wrong eyeglass prescription) Despite my private insurance, I was charged for a "premium exam" which my insurance has objected to. I do not have confidence in the eye exam I had here. As for the 40% off sale, hardly any glasses at this store qualified for this discount. The glasses I selected were a light frameless pair and with no extra frills, with lenses they cost over $700! I am still working with my insurance company to insure no discounts were available that I was not given. I ordered my glasses 2 weeks ago and continue to wait, with apologies for unexpected delays. So, with wait for eye exam, actual exam, and ordering glasses, I was in this store for almost 5 hours. Clearly no expedited glasses and longer than I ever waited for glasses! With all the many places to purchase eyewear and get a professional eye exam.....THIS IS NOT THE PLACE!! Save your time and money!! read more

Well just like the other reviews, it's not the best place to go get your eyes checked out. I decided to check this place out cause it is open on the weekends and I have a busy weekday schedule. Well I first called to set up an appointment which started off great but when I asked the receptionist if she took my insurance, she was unsure. She went to go ask and came back telling me they do. So the day before my appointment, I called cause I had to push my appointment time for a later time. Turns out the receptionist who first booked me for an appointment, did not put me into the system. Like how do you forget to schedule me? No surprise, she sounded young and inexperienced. Then second time I called, they scheduled me. The day of my appointment, I get there and turns out they do not take my insurance. Like I spent $3 on parking and drove to white plains to get told my insurance was not accepted!! I did not appreciate it and decided to not go through with the appointment. This office needs professionals working because making two mistakes like that will cause the company major loss. And bad reviews. Please don't waste your time here. Go find a spot where there's people who know what they're doing. read more

Terrible experience. Felt rushed by the doctor and thought there was no way she could be getting my prescription right moving this fast. I then found out it cost nearly $300 just for the exam which is about 3 times what I've paid at my last eye doctor. She then gave me a "trial" pair of contacts before she would give me my prescription. The trial pair was so far from my real prescription I couldn't even wear them. Then, when I finally got my real prescription, I realized I was right and she was NOT getting my prescription correct as she rushed through the exam. The prescription was the same in both eyes which it has NEVER been in my life. At this point I'm giving up on all the money I spent there and going to a competent eye doctor. What a waste. read more

Dr. Jones is a great Optometrist. However his front staff is not knowledgeable about insurance. They should be retrained on what is communicated to patients. Informing patients that annual vision examinations can be applied to deductibles under your medical insurance when they have separate vision coverage that includes the aforementioned is deceiving. And to have the audacity to state that some insurance companies do not reject the claim should be concerning for the private practice. read more

All the doctors and staff are fantastic at this location! Exam is very thorough and high tech with the clarify system and the photos of the eyes are amazing! I love how everything was explained to me and was so accurate! Got my glasses and contacts there, and I love them. I am going back for some glasses soon since there's a great sale!
