We (my husband and I) have been customers for several years now. It was time again to get new glasses. It would be very lengthy to enumerate each incident through the last 2 weeks, but each time we have contacted them, either by coming in or by phone has been more and more disappointing and frustrating. If you require larger frames don't waste your time here. They had nothing above a 54 lense width and only had like 3 that I saw in that size TOTAL, the rest were smaller. When I asked some lady about the sizing she was unhelpful, and thats putting it nicely. I was at the Brea location earlier that day and found 5 different pairs of glasses because they had alot more options but couldn't decide. I recently purchased a set of high end prescription glasses. Progressive lenses wrapped in a very smart looking Dolce Gabana frames. Even with insurance my out-of-pocket expense was close to $500. I waited a week for my glasses as this particular frame/lens combo could not be done in-house. I just picked up the glasses after approximately 9 days. Unfortunately, my glasses were knocked off my face by my newborn nephew and they fell to the wooden living room floor. Much to my surprise I noticed what appeared to be gouge marks on the inner and upper edge of one of the lenses. This did not look as if damage was from the fall as there were no scratches or shattering. I returned to the LensCrafters store to seek a remedy for this mishap. I was told I would have to pay and additional $100 to have the lens replaced. WTF? Did I not just spend $500 out of my pocket and close to $300 from insurance for a pair of glasses? I have been wearing glasses for more than 35 years and have had more severe drops, twists, etc happen to my glasses and NEVER had I seen this type of damage. Apparently quality materials are NOT used at LensCrafters. Nor is good customer service a priority. I was told by the store manager that my only remedy was to pay $100 for replacement of the lens. I find that particular lack of customer service completely unacceptable. I will NEVER return to that retail store ever again. I will make it a point to post my horrible experience to as many social media sites as is possible, inform all my friends via Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, YELP, etc to expose the pitiful excuse for a full service optometrist. This happened to be the first time I tried LensCrafters at the urging of my wife. Her reasoning for using LensCrafters was the 1 hour service. Scheduled an appointment online, and came into the store. I was greeted upon entering the store and was helped right away. They gave me a box to put frames that I was interested in while I waited. I didn't wait long at all until I started my eye exams. I was deciding between two different style and the worker took pictures at different angles so I can get a better look. My daughter had an appointment - since we do not have insurance she was prepared to pay CASH for her services - from the moment we entered the facility the receptionist was RUDE when asked for insurance my daughter said CASH - she was dismissed to the side and she eagerly welcomed another couple - when they said they had insurance she not only helped fill out paperwork - she immediately guided them to help find lenses - 4 times - 4 different employees asked if we had insurance ??? As my first time going to Lenscrafters, the experience was terrible. I have a specific optometry I go to for years and I figured maybe I'll try out Lenscrafters and see if I can compare their quality and service to my usual go-to. I purchased a pair of glasses for total of $705 and ended up returning it all after a month because they couldn't predict a time of when my glasses would be ready and had a long story linked to the issues with my lens unable to pass through quality inspection in their lab and somehow can't provide a reason behind it. There were many things I didn't like about the customer service: rude phone representatives, lack of communication among employees which led to misinformation, sketchy movements like "forgetting" to credit back the tax for the frame I purchased separately until I mention it but somehow didn't forget to charge me for it. I ended up going back to my original optometry and purchased 2 pairs (Rx clear glasses and sunglasses). They would've made more than a grand from me, have me as a returning customer and as well as me bringing people for recommendation, but not after what happened. Only good thing I can say about Lenscrafters at this point is the wide selection of designer frames. Other than that, there aren't much beneficial perks here. read more

Very rude, unhelpful staff. I waited 2 weeks for glasses, when I called they said they still weren't ready and would take a few more days. I explained how disappointed I was, and the reason I went there was to get instant glasses. While I was explaining why I was so disappointed the person helping me hung up on me. I called back the second person didn't want to help me and gave me the options to either wait on hold for 15 mins or call back. I called back, a third person answered I explained everything I went through and that I no longer wanted the glasses. She was able to refund my card over the phone. Don't waste your time here, go to the Brea location at the mall, better selection of glasses, better staff, and you will get your glasses in a few hours. read more

This is my first time here and I am glad I came. I wanted a comprehensive eye exam and got a very good one. Dr Pham was thorough and excellent. She took me step by step through the exam and review of my retinal scans and addressed all of my concerns, patiently and with detail. I have to return to get my glasses picked out and will enjoy coming back here. Highly recommended. read more

I've been to other locations that were ok, but this one is the worst. My vision insurance covers exams only, I pay for glasses. I know how expensive LensCrafters is but they lure me in with their cute, unique frame selection. Against my better judgement I came in and selected a really cute pair of DKNY cat eye glasses. I have a minor prescription for distance but for some reason they told me that due to the shape of the frames I picked it would take 10 days for my glasses. I was kind of annoyed because you pay top dollar for their speedy service, right? But I loved the glasses so I consented. 10 days later I get a call to pick them up. I was excited and when I got there they took them out. The lenses, which were supposed to be regular, clear lenses, were tinted gray?!? I pointed this out to the salesperson who takes them to the back. He comes back and explains that I need to come back AGAIN and in the meantime, "they will try to do something" to remove the tint. Back it up. I waited 10 days, paid top dollar, and now I have to make another trip for lenses you are going " to try and do something" to? No thanks. At least they let me return them. Never again LensCrafters. Never again. Oh and BTW, I found the same frames on line for 50% less. read more

Overall I had a good experience. I went in for both an exam and to find a new pair of glasses. The doctor there was very friendly and listened to my concerns about the previous prescription I had and really took her time to find a prescription that worked for me. The sales associate who helped me, Annel, gave me her honest opinion on which frames fit my face and which one overall gave me the best fit and look great for my face type. I feel that this is very important to me because instead of trying to get me to buy an expensive frame that didn't fit my face we were able to find one that did. She also understood my concerns about cost and worked with me to find something in my budget. My glasses were special order and came in a day or two before the time frame they gave me. They were a bit swamped when I came in to pick up my frames however they made me feel like I was still a priority and they were able to assist me in a timely manner. The sales associate who helped me with picking up my glasses made sure that I was comfortable with the fit and the frame and did not rush through the process which I felt was really nice considering that they were very busy at the time. I also learned that LensCrafters does adjustments and repairs for free regardless if you bought the frames there or not so I do plan on bringing in my sunglasses for an adjustment. They do have restrooms available. Like I said overall good experience the one thing I would fix is more sales associates on the floor as it seemed like they were a bit overwhelmed when they had an influx of customers. read more

I had an appointment and signed in with the receptionist gave all my information and the clerk or receptionist by the name ''Virginia " came up to me with ATTITUDE she was having problems pulling up my insurance info. Which I called my insurance and a different provider that had no problem pulling up my insurance info. I went to Virginia asked her if she could talk to the other provider I had on the phone that was able to pull up my insurance info . She gave me a fuchi face . Clearly she was having a bad morning was not willing to help me out . All she would say is " Our portal is different and we can't get any information . I walked out of there. I had a very pleasant experience with the staff at this LensCrafters. I did have to wait a short time but because it wasn't real busy I was helped reasonably soon. It looked to me like they were short staffed. I was purchasing two pair of glasses and was taking up considerable time, so that took one person (Karen) off the floor for two hours. Karen did a remarkable job by the way and was so helpful in my making a decision on which glasses to purchase. It seemed to me that the staff was helpful and friendly and knew their "stuff". Shopped there in March. Bad customer service starting with the person who presents herself as the General Manager. Greets you like you are a burden. I explained to her I was there to take advantage of a 40% off first pair and 50% off second primotion. It was explained to me differently over the phone by one of her associates. She was rude and had an attitude like too bad! Funny thing is I found myself being the one to apologize since "I misunderstood" wich I did not since I wrote it all down and checked my notes later. I shopped around and regret going back. The same rude GM recognized me, continued a conversation with another employee and ignored me. Gentleman who ended up helping me was also somewhat rude and just came across like he dreads helping people. Only reason why I purchased there was to get glasses in an hour. Second pair didn't arrive for 10 days. When I called them to follow up they claimed not to have them and it would be another couple of days. Later that same day received call to pick them up. My guess is they were there all along but these people don't care or are incompetent. Again, starting with the General Manager. Get some customer service skills. Why is there no zero stars option?? Totally overpriced, they seem to be nice but when they think you're not looking, they stare at you as if you were going to steal something. I was pretty uncomfortable. With those two complaints, I would have given them 4 stars. I am not, though, because something worse happened. My daughter got an infection with abscess on both eyes after being examined here. This is horrible. When they checked her on the first three machines, they half assed wiped the chin area but not the forehead area. After entering the doctor's room, I did not see her wipe anything, I assumed she had already done it before we entered. She gave my daughter dilation drops which came from huge multiple use bottles (I thought that was weird), and I never saw her wash or disinfect her hands. There was no sink in the room, but they should at least have disinfectant for when they touch a patient, no? In any case, they have great thorough tests, but they seriously need to work on their sanitary skills. Never again. read more

Went in to pick up my contacts the other day and was handled in record time. Every time I visit this branch I get what I need although depending on who's helping you depends on how fast and professional the job is accomplished. Sometimes its busy so itll take longer to be seen so plan it out. Like rush hour, nobody plans or wants to sit in traffic, theyre doing it cause they dont have another option. Andrea helped me the other day and every time I come in she is on point. Lakshmi is another rep I wouldn't take lightly. Her customer service is wonderful, on duty and off. Ive randomly run into her a few times at a couple supermarkets and you can tell she has a genuine care for her customers. Rather than turning away from you she carries on a conversation with you. These are the types of employees that help a business succeed. For years I've been frequenting this place and I honestly hope the petite long haired little girl who used to work at the front, apparently became one of the eye care specialists, has received a pay adjustment for her negative demeanor and consistant unprofessional performance with customers. Employees and service like that are why you can get bad reviews. I'm a business owner myself, disheartening to see a co. hold on to employees that constrict its profit stream. Thankful for the reputable employees that balance this place out. They deserve some sort of positive acknowledgment and/or increase in wages. read more

I lost my glasses at the beach on a Friday (yesterday) afternoon and needed a new pair asap. I cannot drive or really do much of anything without glasses due to such poor eyesight. I've literally worn a pair of glasses every single day since I was in fifth grade. I was super worried and stressed about it. They had an appointment available and gave me a very thorough eye exam including color vision screening. I have a very strong prescription and most places require a special order to make them, which takes a week and a half to get. Taylor and Brian were very helpful and were able to get my glasses made by the next afternoon (today, Saturday). I was blown away, I'm so grateful to have new glasses. Every other place I called told me it would take 10 days to get the lenses made. I had heard that lenscrafters was expensive but didn't care about how much I was going to have to spend to get a new pair. I would have happily paid $1000 to have a pair of glasses before Monday morning. Taylor informed me that my insurance covered a lot of the cost and I paid less than I pay for a months cable tv for new frames and lenses. Brian made me a great set of lenses. Brian and Taylor are huge assets to the store. I recommend this store, I think you will be very happy if you decide to come here. Thank you Brian and Taylor. read more

I would give no stars if possible this place SUCKS!!! Stay away from here ripoff. I came to lens crafters to get a new pair of glasses they cost me $500 and after three months the glasses were falling off my face. Went to the store and explained that they were falling off and the lady said you need an adjustment took my glasses and pulled out a pair of pliers a started to bend them and said here you go good as new and I said great went home took them off a one of the legs came off in my hand. So I drove back and told the lady that she broke my glasses and that she needed to fix them and she said that she did not break them and that if she broke them that it would have happened in the store and I said "I just left here". She said to bad and that needed to go to Shultz optical to maybe get them fixed went to Shultz they said that it would cost me another $150 to reshape my lenses to fit another pair of frames. Will never go back I think I will stick with Shultz Optical from now on! read more
