I ordered them on 4/24 with an expected date of 5/7. Not hearing from them, I called on 5/8 for a status on my order and was told I could come in anytime; they were at the store. Shame the customer needs to call to find out if their order has arrived. I went in on same day to pick them up, one pair fits nice, other pair looks crooked on me. I am told there is nothing they can do about it, that my eyebrows are crooked! Did not offer in any way to help resolve the issue. Over 55 years of wearing glasses , this is the first time I have received a pair of glasses that did not fit right and could not be adjusted. I did not raise my voice. but feel future customers should just be aware of my experience at this store and location. I will get some tape or something to raise one side up to make them look straight ... like every pair I have ever purchased in my 55 years of wearing glasses. If they read this review and try to help me, I will politely decline since they already told me there was nothing they could do to fix them even though they are new and I was very dissatisfied. As a type 1 diabetic for 40 yrs my vision has suffered. Ive had several eye surgeries and ive been seeing the same retina specialist for many years. Ive been complaining about an issue for some time now and im always told "youre retinas are fine, nothing more we can do" I had an eye exam by Dr. Nathanson at Luxe that revealed i did in fact, have a serious issue. He was very thorough, took his time with me and listened to me descibe what i was seeing. Im so grateful, moving forward, the eye requires a serious surgery. Heather was my initial experience at Luxe. She helped me navigate the different lenses they offer and explained in detail how each one would provide a slightly different view. Not a pushy salesperson, a delight to work with. The customer service at Luxe is outstanding from the moment you enter. The exam is state of the art. I was told I wasn't getting a prescription today, and that I had to "try out" the more expensive brand of contacts for two weeks before they would write the prescription. (I had told the doctor that not only had I used the brand she was suggesting, but I was comfortable with the brand I had been using for the last 8 years) she then told me that brand (Walmarts brand) was "not good" and that she didn't even carry them in her store. I left with a two week trial and was told I could call for her to put the prescription through and that I had to order through her. When I called back, I explained that I still wanted the Walmart brand contacts, (she pushed through the other brand that was 3x more expensive) I called back to say I wanted the other brand and I never received a call back. I went back to the store to inquire what the problem was, I got the run around and was assured the doctor would get back to me Monday (she was off for Friday-the weekend). Well, I never got a call back, and I paid for a prescription I have yet to get. the following Friday I went to Walmart in Farmingdale, paid for my script, got my prescription, a months worth of the contacts I actually wanted and an order for the year. HOWEVER, the reception at this vision center was WONDERFUL! Their COVID precautions are impressive and the people who work there are awesome! They took me in right away, took me to the back, and took care of me immediately. The optician was very friendly and very helpful, as were the girls who took me around. Their selection of frames was impressive and their prices were great! They helped me find a great pair in my favorite color (purple) and everything was done quickly and efficiently! I…read morewent to Cohen's this summer, I had lost my glasses and had a road trip from CT to New Jersey planned - I knew I wouldn't be able to drive without seeing! I needed a quick turn around and had checked with other vision places but the one I normally go to didn't have an eye doc on site and I couldn't find anyone who could see me on such short notice at several other places I called. I called Cohen's and this really nice guy (I forget his name, but we had the same birthday - May 17 ha ha) was so professional and nice I was almost in shock - most people in retail these days are rude and really couldn't care less about solving your problems! He was able to get me in, and an awesome staff member whose name I have now forgotten but she was so thorough and attentive and really really nice and THOROUGH. Then they zoomed in an eye doctor who went over everything with me. They were able to put lenses in a pair of glasses I already had (I had planned to use them for the computer after Lasik but never ended up getting Lasik) and turned them around the same day. I don't think I have ever had such a great, seamless, upbeat, communicative staff waiting on me in my life! They really genuinely care and want you to have a good experience. These were smart people and ridiculously nice. So here's my review, about three months late, but I hope they see it. Also I should add that Cohen's has some really beautiful frames - like I said I brought my own this time, but I'll definitely return to Cohen's when I need a new pair (and another eye exam). What brings me to today's review - I accidentally stepped on my favorite pair and killed the arm irreparably. my backup pair is lovely but more fancy than day to day wear. I brought the ruined frames in and luckily they had the same frames & were able to swap my lenses right then. Paul and Cheryl were delightful & helpful. I live in area and have tried multiple other optical stores without being happy with any given all at least two years of my experience as a customer. Unhappy I said what do I have to lose given BJ's a try. I have been so happy about the whole experience here at BJ's. I have dealt with Babs, Lenard, I can't quite remember the name of the optometrist but all three have been a pleasure to do business with. I do have progressive lenses so I am always prepared for the bottom line and honestly I very pleased with that part as well. Glasses came in earlier fitted and one my way. Returned with minor adjustments and taken care of and again on my way. Couldn't be more pleased and would recommend. I see yelps from years ago and what I read is not my experience at all feel 5 stars a must across all brackets here. Will be returning in the future as well other family to use BJ's Optical.
