I stopped by after a late arrival at my hotel and noticed there were no hours posted on the front door. When I entered, I was greeted and seated myself. After learning they closed at 10:00 PM and realizing I had arrived at 9:47 PM, I offered to order takeout instead. My server kindly encouraged me to stay and enjoy my meal. The service was excellent, and I never felt rushed. I enjoyed two coney dogs with fresh, hot, crispy fries and a soft drink. The restaurant was very clean, the staff was friendly and welcoming, and the prices were very reasonable. I took part of my meal back to the hotel so the staff could close on time. A family member told us to try Leo's Coney Island. We ordered through Yelp (Grubhub). The delivery fee and the tip really made the order extra pricey. We decided to try the fish and chips, onion rings and caesar wrap. We tried to order extra condiments but unfortunately the site does not offer that option. When the food arrived the only condiment that came included was tarter sauce. This was extremely disappointing when we would expect to get either ranch/thousand island for the onion rings and ketchup for the fries. I can't really say anything was really good, besides the wrap. Feeling really frustrated that according to the person from the restaurant, condiments are not included because there is an upcharge for each one. I feel compelled to share a deeply upsetting experience my 20-year-old daughter had today at the Leo's in Romulus, MI. While she was on her break getting ready to eat, the owner/boss made the comment, "This is why you're fat -- you're always eating." My daughter is not fat. She is one of the hardest-working young people I know, and the staff at the Taylor Leo's can absolutely confirm her work ethic and professionalism. For any employer--especially an owner--to speak to an employee this way is not only unprofessional, but completely unacceptable. No employee should ever be subjected to body-shaming, disrespect, or demeaning comments in their workplace. As a parent, I am disgusted, disappointed, and frankly shocked that someone entrusted with running a business would think this behavior is appropriate. I'm sharing this publicly so others are aware of the type of leadership representing this location. OMG me and my kiddo had the Cali burger. It was soooo freakin good ( big burger ) and was also tried the lemon rice ( soup ) I think that's what it's called ha ha , that was good as well. Long wait to order and longer for food to arrive. I order a breakfast with eggs over medium. Yoke was cooked fully. Not my idea of a over medium egg. I ordered the 2 coneys meal and a small salad, for a small salad it was bigger than expected, and the dressing was AMAZING.
