Oahu = beaches and malasadas. You cannot come here without eating, Leonard's. Whether you get the original cinnamon or some of the other flavors with custard inside, you're in for the best treat. Cooked fresh hot pillow, soft, just bites of deliciousness. You can order individual ones, half a dozen or dozens!!! Try all of them if you want you won't be sorry.

No joke 4/1/26-- on lagoon drive

***Note this is for the food truck at the Lagoon Drive location. I wanted to note- this is for the location on Lagoon drive. They were there from maybe middle or end of January 2026... about the time Ahua Station opened. It was robbed in end or middle March. They don't take cash anymore and when I ordered there on April 1st at 11:30am they did my order wrong.... A simple 6 Malasadas "cinnamon Sugar --- NOT SUGAR! There was two workers the guy took the payment and the female made the order.... They didn't hear me correctly... my Order was made into SUGAR.... Not cinnamon sugar. Oh maybe cause the location but... also cause they are brand new. .... They should try to do more concise orders to get by... ... maybe they will get more busier over time...

We were planning to go to the original location, but after seeing the minimal parking and the long line, we opted to go to Leonard's Mobile Truck, and we are so glad we did! First, we had a rather large rental SUV, so the fact that this mobile truck was located within a strip mall, with plenty of parking was greatly appreciated. Second, the malasadas were hot, fresh, and delicious! I was worried about the quality since it was not the original location but I really did not have anything to worry about. Third, the line was so much shorter. We only had one person in front of us. Better parking, same quality, and a shorter wait time - yes please! I would say the only bummer was that the truck did not sell merch, so I couldn't get myself a little sticker. Oh well I can always get one online.

I came around 4pm on a Tuesday and there was a line out the door. Luckily it moved pretty fast. The malasadas are served hot and fresh. They weren't too sweet to me, but they left this lingering burnt(?) grease taste in my mouth that was almost bitter. I also didn't like the flavor of the custard, it tasted like the vanilla pudding cups. Overall, it's worth to try once. The store itself and the sign outside is very cute and touristy.

I discovered this Lenard's Malasada Food Truck Wagon driving by, their classic red & white striped paint scheme with Blue "Leonard's Bakery" writing on the side, and cute smiling Malasada figure with red & white hat really grabs your attention! These warm luscious Portuguese style donuts have a distinctive texture with that sweet dusting choice of Sugar, Cinnamon or Li Hing that mades the Malasada one of Hawaii's favorite treat here on Oahu. The Malasada "Puffs" are filled with a variety of creamy flavored fillings, that takes this tasty deep fried donut to the next level of Deliciousness! Friendly Aloha is also served up here! NOTE: Card only! Tap or scan. NO CA$H accepted at this location! ( Except the Tip Jar!) Four Fabulous Stars for delivering a YELPTASTIC Malasada's that delight all your senses!

Not as many options as the storefront but way less crowded- this was easy, quick, and still delicious and the perfect site post Kokohead hike (can we really call it a hike? More like narrow real life nature stairclimber). We had sugar, cinnamon sugar, and li-hing sugar with filling options of coconut, custard, and chocolate. So fresh and toasty!

A must eat dessert in Hawaii. Malasadas came out hot and creamy inside. We ordered Custard filling and Haupia filling. Both were creamy inside and filled with both fillings. Outside was coated with sugar. These were donut like fried pastries. Fillings were not that sweet which is good. I like that the malasadas came out warm. They were good to eat with coffee. Comforting fried pastry dessert that is delicious to have with lunch or dinner or even as a snack.

Delicious! My friend took me to this food truck for a malasada. It was warm and soft. I got a coconut filled one and it was yummy. You could tell it was extremely fresh. Highly recommended!

Can't go wrong with Leonard's. Decided to hit up this location on the way back before getting into Waikiki. This place is by the airport, went round 3-4pm, no line. Ate it right when we got into the car! This is a must eat while it's still warm! Custard filling is your classic flavor. Chocolate filled is good, but a little too sweet for my liking. Haupia filled good too, if you like that hint of coconut flavor. It's subtle and not overpowering. And I love anything cinnamon sugar flavor so that one was soo ono! A must stop at any location in Hawaii!

We had the "highly rated" North Shore shrimp three years ago and the way they serve it to you isn't very appetizing. However, this shack, chef's kiss. The presentation and the flavor was all there. My partner's platter was half short rib and half garlic shrimp. (Fries/drinks from a different location.) Service 5/5 The staff are friendly and very hardworking. They were very quick to get me a plastic bag when I asked. 100000% coming back.

This was more chipotle ish with maybe some sort of minced onion than the spicy garlic shrimp I had the past two times. I didn't eat here when it was Angry shrimp because they mixed onion and mushrooms with shrimp or something and I was looking for Garlic shrimp. I have the picture from last weeks garlic shrimp. Last week it tasted like it had fish sauce in it with spices and garlic, etc...tonight it literally tastes like bbq seasoning mixed with chipotle seasoning and chili onion. I'm not writing this review to bash this shrimp truck because I think they are very nice but more so as constructive criticism...to hopefully keep their recipe consistent. People want the flavor of Garlic shrimp without having to go to the north shore. These other seasonings just didn't cut it for me:(

It was ~$30 and easily shareable with 2-3 people. Everything tasted great and I loved the smokey flavor and bbq sauce. Beef brisket and short rib were kinda tough and chewy. It came with three sides so I got cole slaw, potato salad, and Mac and cheese. Cole slaw and Mac and cheese were solid; Potato salad was just alright. They also gave one warm bun too. The reason I gave 3 stars was because service was extremely slow. It seemed like they were short staff and had one person at the cash register AND getting the food. He would take a few orders, and then grab the food. When I arrived, he was grabbing food for multiple folks so then I stood there waiting like 15 just to place my order. Then when he restarted and took my order, he took like 5 more orders before grabbing the food so then I waited even longer for another 15 min. That's 30 min of waiting! Also he wasn't serving food in the order that orders were received so it felt actually felt even longer. There needs to be a better system! Surprisingly he did a employee discount on my order. Not sure if it's because it was close to closing time. Btw they charge extra if you order to-go because of the supplies for packaging. I think food is alright but wouldn't return and wait that long for bbq.

However, after having to abandon our original dinner plans, we were no less intrigued after randomly stumbling across this place. While they may not have been our first choice for dinner, coming here was far more appealing than eating fast food or at the nearby IHOP! Although seeing so many folks at this mini food truck park may have been what caught our attention, it was the boxes of fried chicken on nearly every table that swayed us to try Waikiki Chicken in Paradise in particular. After skimming the menu, it wasn't hard to see why they were such a popular choice - everything on it sounded great. Granted, that's not overly difficult when there are only eight items to choose from, but tough to argue with the likes of fried chicken loco moco, fried chicken curry rice, fried chicken sandwiches, chicken & croffle, and fish & chips! Since we saw how big the portion were and didn't want anything too heavy (read: sadly, no loco moco or Japanese curry), we opted to split a FRIED CHICKEN RICE PLATE ($16.95) which came with a Fried Chicken Cutlet over White Rice with Mac Salad & Green Salad. Funny enough, despite already having a sense of how much food they give, I was still surprised by the generous portion size. As for how it all tasted, this was great. The breading on the chicken reminded me of Popeye's (though, without the spice), the batter was crispy, and the chicken itself was rather moist. As for the sides, the mac salad was pretty good, but the salad was a little heavy on dressing. If there was one thing I could change about our order, I think I'd want to see how it would taste with a sauce or glaze. At the very least, I'd definitely go with a different dipping sauce, like their Pineapple Ginger, Lilikoi Mayo, or Guava BBQ, as the Honey Mustard we went with tasted a bit generic. Of course, we could've solved both problems if we had gone with the Fried Chicken Loco Moco or Fried Chicken Curry Rice instead! I guess I'll just have to wait until the next time I'm in Waikiki!
