This was Bar 2 on our Bar Crawl list. It's located right across the street from The Garden. My review reflects a NYE Bar Crawl so my review is based on that. For me the vibe of the place didn't really fit what we were going for. I thought it was cool they had a live band. But there was no space to sit and the bar was overly crowded. They had about four bartenders working the bar which they moved quickly. We had one shot there and kept it moving. We were in and out in less than an hour with the massive crowds. Maybe on another it when it's less noisy and busy it could be the place to be. But unfortunately that night just wasn't it for me.

Classic dive-ish bar in Midtown. Not huge so if you're there for music, arrive early. But the sound quality is good, the drinks are reasonably priced and there is a good deal of ambience. There is a menu posted on this Yelp page but when I asked at the bar if there was food available, I was flatly told no. But would absolutely return.

This place is utterly glamorous. Went there on a date and felt super impressed by the high end lounge and talented bartender.

Beautiful place to take in a good drink with or without company very inviting. Music folks too long to set up but would try it again just because the place is very inviting

This is that bull crap right here. I got an email for listen in invite for new artist in town. No mention of any other charges. The listening was supposed to be from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. I didn't hear any listen in until 9:20 p.m. so that's already that bull. I happened to be lucky enough to meet a few of her friends and then when she came in at 9 o'clock I met her also. Coretta very nice lady but I was there to be there from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. So if you buy a mixed alcoholic beverage you get a free ticket for the buffet. I had already been somewhere that had free food and I was not hungry. The free food look like rice chicken wings and meatballs so you are not missing out on anything Now I was asked when I got there to start a tab. Same owners as Davenport so OK. I ordered 2 martinis and got a $3.90 service charge. No mention of this at any time. I would have been happy to pay cash if that was the case. Again no one mentioned this charge. Nice 30 n up type atmosphere but wtf?. So I assumed this was the gratuity n left no tip. U should explain this charge to guests. Damn shame. I met some nice folk but ended up at mongoose v cobra bar which is another hustle. Pay cash only here !!

Considering the recent shutter of other places (#2) within the hospitality umbrella, it's not too big of a surprise that Wooster's would also be in the crosshairs. The space was always a nice mix of indoor and outdoor seating, which combined with its dedicated parking lot made this an easy drinking outlet for all kinds of occasions. The intimate indoor space was lovely and well ventilated, and it felt like there wasn't ever a moment where the bar wasn't slammed. The outdoor space was much of the same, with lots of tables and chairs, and even the trendy swing chairs facing the city. The only thing that was a little bit of a liability were those open flame heaters; it would only take on person to accidentally walk into one or trip onto it. For libations, the drinks were well priced, well made, and always potent. I appreciated the aesthetics, as well as the bartenders who made them. The only part that wasn't exciting was the limited food menu, which did its part as munchies for the drink heavy crowd, but was mediocre otherwise. The space is already undergoing the new facelift of a separate concept, one of which I hope will do the area justice, just as much as Wooster's did. ____________ (#1) The Kirby Group. (#2) R.I.P. This is definitely a dive bar and seems to really be geared towards the local neighborhood. From the outside and even the inside, you may not think much of it but it was a pleasant surprise and they have so many cocktails to try. We got there a little early on a Friday night and were one of the only groups there but a rather large party/gathering came in maybe 30mins or so afterwards. The mixologist? was super friendly and gave recommendations as there are just so many cocktail options. Drinks took a bit to be made but she was by herself and we each ordered a different drink. The drinks themselves were really good and there's definitely something for everyone here. I really enjoyed my lady earl and we even tried a hot cheeto drink (not my favorite but it was fun to try and really does taste like a hot cheeto). I think this is just a fun place to check out and hang out. I'm glad to have this as a local spot not and am looking forward to trying more of their drinks!

The origami ceiling, lively bar, friendly staff, unique cocktails, fun bathroom, and photo booth in the corner made for an unforgettable experience. My friend said it was the busiest he had ever seen the place, and it was loud. But we got some awesome drinks that I swore I could've taken pics of -- the lighting was a little crazy, so I think I ultimately changed my mind with that. One was the periscope which was a refreshing and summery gin drink... And I think I tried the naked and famous too because I like mezcal. I had already eaten so I skipped the restaurant the speakeasy's connected to, but I cannot wait to return to Houston outside of a Con so I can really go all out on exploring. I went because this was the only bar open during Labor Day when I had guest visiting. So I would say it's a pretty nice location, considering the fact that it is always consistently open. They had a good menu with different cocktails that were fun and fruity. Otherwise, I did also see people could order coffee at the bar and have different espresso drinks. It looks like the drink that I ordered is also no longer on the menu. The bar prides itself on having a rotating meal changing menu so I think that's a lot of fun when it comes to trying new drinks and new combinations and it truly shows the artistry of the bartender. There was the option of both indoor and outdoor seating. The interior was more of a dimmer, elegant and darker tone. I can see it being pretty classic if you were to go at night time. The bar set up was really beautiful and they had different 2 to 4 seating wooden tables. Overall, the inside would probably only fit around 20 people. I was very sad because we couldn't sit outside. The day before it had rained so every outdoor seating was wet. But I was told that they had a beautiful seating outside with a garden and a pool. Service was good. The bartender came out of the bar to take orders, give menus and give you the check. I will say that it got really busy at the end and it took a while to get our check. There's only one or two bartenders working at one time so if there's multiple people with different drinks that are ordered, it will take a little bit longer. There is both valet parking and also street parking in the neighborhood nearby.

Not hard to find, it's located to the right as you walk in. What brought us here is that it's listed as one of the top 50 bars in Houston in Houstonia Magazine. Service (3/5): While we had a waitress, she was slow to greet us and slow to check up on us. It's a small bar and there isn't a ton of seating so it's not like she was overwhelmed. For a fancy hotel, you expect better. Maybe sitting at the bar is better than sitting at some seats as we did. Ambiance (4/5): The Colombe d'Or is a beautiful hotel and Bar No. 3 reflects that. It's an elegant spot to grab a drink, although small. Food (N/A): While there are expensive items on the menu, I had dinner earlier that night so I was on a liquid diet. Drinks (3/5): Bar No. 3 is known for its cocktails so I focused on the cocktail list. The list isn't large but it features a nice selection. Like the food, you're going to pay a premium. I enjoyed my adult beverage but felt like it was a bit overpriced. Hitting up hotel bars isn't a common occurrence in Houston unless you're a traveler. For Bar No. 3 to be the only hotel bar on Houstonia's top 50 is a feat in itself.
