The two employees had made gouges in my dining room baseboard while moving in the fridge. Alex arranged for his brother to fix the gouges, but his brother merely painted over the holes. And a then nicer mattress, all the while explaining the innards of a coil, coil count, coil density, with relation to mattress sizes and price points within each different brand as well as each brand's unique niche in the market (e.g. sealy is all hand made!) And then before we knew it our choice was clear -- Carl For PRESIDENT! I got the bed he is in. Obviously--It was a no brainer. And at an exceptional value. His Pillow knowledge on point, too! Everyone needs to inquire with Carl if you're in the market for anything bed related, and into that brevity thing. Calmer than you are.

I purchased a bed at the Concord store…read morein March of 2019 , an adjustable bed king size so it had two XL twin size mattress frames on each side with moveable head/feet features. It was expensive, and in addition to the frame mattresses we also had it delivered to a new house we had just purchased and bought a 10 year warranty on the bed. Moving forward a couple of years my husband's side of the bed motor went out and was not functional so we called the warranty service and had a technician come do a service call. He was there for two minutes and then left. They promptly called us and told us it was not covered because the frame was bent. After many phone calls, we asked for a second opinion they finally sent out another technician, and he told us that the first technician had already been fired, and the bed was not bent, but the motor had burned out. Fine, the motors replaced and the bed worked fine no problems. A couple years forward the bed now is stuck in the upward position. It won't go down the feet work, but the head won't go down. We called the warranty service and they say because we've had so many calls. We've one had one service call. They need a video we send a video and they promptly send me a message telling me that we have no more warranty left and they're going to send me a check for $40. She told me they tell me I should go put that towards the new bedframe or another remote and there's nothing else they can do for us. Mind you the warranty that we paid for was a 10 year warranty. We've only had the bed for six years. They did not tell us that there was a cap on the money that we were able to spend. They told us that the bed was covered for 10 years. I will never again buy a bed from this facility or recommend any of my friends to go to mattress firm and purchase a bed there and I will make sure to tell anybody I know to never buy a bed or a warranty from that facility again.

When they finally arrived, I was greeted with a "Sorry." The flowers were beautiful and so was the amber tone mosaic vase. (I am still enjoying the vase now filled with some dried fall flowers.) But here is where things get a bit strange. When I was rinsing out the vase, I noticed two stickers on the bottom. One said Mervyn's $39.99 and the other said Goodwill $8.99. Mervyn's closed many years ago so today's retail value of the vase would be much more. Who knows how it ended up at Goodwill and then made its way to Jory's. I don't have an issue with recycling from thrift stores. I do it myself. What was very odd to me was Jory's did not take a minute or two to remove the stickers. Very tacky. This would have been a five-star review if the flowers had arrived on time and in a vase that did not show its thrift store origins.

I calmly ask to speak w the mgr. & I receive pushback. The lady who answers the phn doesn't want to track down the mgr.; I can just tell her about my issue. So I clearly explain what is wrong & (when asked what should be done) that I expect a partial refund or some form of compensation for my $140 dozen roses delivered a day early before Valentine's Day. Ppl make mistakes... but... The sole reason I'm even leaving this review is bc of the lackadaisical, almost resentful tone & attitude of the lady who fielded my call. She is the opposite of what a business owner or founder would want for customer service. If timing is important to you when you order flowers, you might want to avoid this business. That would merit a 3 star review. If customer service is important you, def. avoid this place. This is a 1 star review primarily for the tone-deaf reply I rec'd when I initially expressed my dismay: "well... you know, mistakes happen, & I mean, they were delivered."

"Hey, there's no trust here!" This review is for my experience with a salesperson at the Hayward location, Todd Gore. I went to a liquidation sale June 2019, looking for a dishwasher, a dryer, a refrigerator and a gas range. I feel that Todd used manipulative and patronizing tactics to pressure me to buy appliances. Initially, I appreciated a lot of the advice Todd gave me while helping me pick out appliances. The issues came when I had more or less picked out what I wanted and was close to purchasing the appliances... Before finalizing my purchases, I wanted to make sure that the appliances would meet the City of Berkeley's efficiency requirements for new constructions. I asked Todd questions like whether the appliances were Energy Star certified and how many gallons per minute the dishwasher used. He simply insisted that they were efficient because they were top of the market. Since he wouldn't give me the specifics I wanted, I got out my iPad to look up the spec sheets for the appliances. I was also looking up prices of the appliance just to make I was getting the best deal. Now what he could have done was said "Hey, I don't know the answer to your questions, but let me get you that information" and gotten out his own iPad to look them up. He even could have printed them out for me. Instead I could see Todd's expression become flustered and annoyed. At one point he snapped at me saying "Are you seriously not going to buy this Bosch dishwasher for $725?!!" I'm not a contractor and I don't buy appliances every day, so, no, I don't know what a Bosch dishwasher goes for off the top of my head. He also wanted to rush me through the purchasing process as I was looking up spec sheets. I was asking him for model numbers so I could look up the next item, when he admonished me again saying "There's no trust here." How dare he rush me and guilt me when I just wanted to do research for a very expensive purchase? We all should know that trust is earned, not demanded, especially from someone you just met and especially from someone trying to sell you something. I also wonder if he would have said this had I been a man. Unfortunately, I did buy the appliances before getting the information I wanted, partly because of pressure from Todd and partly out of not wanting to spend a lot of time on this errand. I asked whether I could return appliances if they didn't meet City of Berkeley requirements, and he said yes, without mentioning the short return policy (7 days). I also failed to notice the return policy. I took some of the appliances with me that day including the dryer. My construction crew was on a another project for over a week and when they came back, they informed me that the dryer hookup was gas, and the one I had bought was electric. Being inexperienced with appliances, I didn't know there were two kinds of dryers. But at the same time, Todd never asked me what kind of dryer I needed, which should have been his first question to help me pick out a dryer. If he had, I would have found out from my contractor and this mistake wouldn't have happened. I contacted Todd to ask if I could return the dryer. He said he asked the manager to make an exception, though I have doubts. Anyways, he said the return policy was strict, but he could help me get the best deal on a gas dryer. At first I thought, why should I give him more commission? But then I thought if he actually can give me a good deal then why not. I let him know what other dryer I was considering buying from Lowe's and if he had something comparable, and he never responded, probably because they don't have a better deal. So, it is ultimately the buyer's responsibility to know what they need to buy, and to take notice of the return policy. But don't believe for a second that your salesperson has your best interest at heart. If you are inexperienced, they will take advantage of this. I spoke with the assistant manager and manager at Concord Airport appliance (the sale happened at the Hayward branch, but Todd is based in Concord). Each time after telling my story they never followed up, and I had to call back each time. After over a month of calls, the manager finally informed that I couldn't return the dryer because of the 7-day return policy. They could have easily made an exception to their return policy. They didn't have to take the return legally, but doing so would have shown that they value respect for customers and employee accountability over short-term profit. I was finally able to sell the dryer on Craigslist at a loss of $200. I will never go to Airport Appliance again or recommend this business to anyone. read more

I don't leave one-star reviews lightly, but this situation has been dragging on since February and needs to be addressed. I've referred multiple customers to this location over the years, including a close family member who owns several properties and regularly purchases appliances. This has been an ongoing relationship with consistent business, not a one-time sale. That's why this experience has been so frustrating and disappointing. The issue started with a stove purchase. The delivery and installation process was handled very poorly--mistakes were made, things were left in an unsafe condition, and instead of taking accountability and fixing it promptly, the situation was left unresolved. My family member had to spend time chasing answers, making calls, and pushing just to get basic acknowledgment of the problem. From there, things only got worse. Since February, she has been trying to purchase a refrigerator through Apaulo. Not even asking for anything complicated--just trying to complete a straightforward purchase and get it scheduled. Instead, it's been months of delays, no follow-through, and little to no communication. At times, it felt like she was being completely ignored. Apaulo has been our main contact for years, which is why this is especially disappointing. There were assurances that things would be handled and that management would get involved if needed--but that never materialized. Meanwhile, months have gone by with no resolution, no completed sale, and no real effort to move things forward. What makes this worse is that we tried to handle everything the right way--working directly with Apaulo, being patient, and not immediately escalating to management out of respect for the relationship. That patience was met with inaction. At this point, it's not just about the initial delivery issue or even the delayed refrigerator purchase--it's about the complete lack of accountability and communication. For a repeat, high-value customer who has brought in ongoing business, this is unacceptable. Management needs to understand that this kind of experience damages trust and drives customers away. After months of trying to get something as simple as a refrigerator purchase completed, this has left a very bad impression. Extremely disappointing. read more

Go See Corey Watson at Airport Appliance in Concord! Our new kitchen and this Yelp review, both a long time coming. We started shopping for appliances months before we actually started our kitchen remodel, and that's when we first met Corey. We had been ALL OVER to just about every appliance store in the east bay, and even after being to Airport once or twice (I think it was our third time there), once we met up with Corey in front of a floor model fridge that now stands in our new kitchen- we knew almost instantly Corey was someone we wanted to work with. He couldn't have guessed what he was in for at that time, but let me tell you Corey was as great that first day as he is today. I just got a manufacturer rebate card in the mail and called to thank him, and we ended up talking for 10 minutes...bringing me to this review. I'll try to keep it short, as our process certainly was not, but I can tell you that Corey was always willing to help, always got back to us and took extra steps along the way to make sure our experience was top notch. From helping us through the painstaking (my fault) choices, I mean there are so many options when you are looking through their great warehouse at all new appliances; Corey was always patient, and most importantly not pushy or aggressive whatsoever. That's what you will love about him, Corey is a relaxed and easy going genuine person that just wants to help you find what works best for you, and he knows his product & knows how to get you the best deals. Once we had decided on a package, he made the purchase as smooth as possible, as we did take advantage of Airport's financing offer, and I was impressed at how he coordinated deliveries (we had to get the fridge first) and even took care of our rebate submission. I really really needed a new mattress. However, buying a mattress can be confusing so I usually left the stores frustrated, confused and, of course, without a mattress. Today, I hit pay dirt. I had heard about the early Black Friday sales going on at Airport Appliance and I was going to be in Concord anyway.....so I stopped by. Lucky me. There was Brian Ortega greeting me when I walked in. I told him I was "just looking". He said fine and I "just looked". Then, I was ready and asked him for his help. Brian is very very knowledgeable, professional, friendly, patient and very willing to discuss just about anything to do with mattress type, purchase and price. But, it was not overwhelming. Just informative. He showed me several mattresses but I kept going back to this particular Serta mattress. And, the mattress was on one of those mechanical adjustable frames. I was hooked. Brian left me to see what he could do regarding price for both mattress and adjustable bed frame. I really didn't go in there to buy today.....just to look. Well, Brian really took care of me. He even let me just relax for quite awhile on the bed, using the controls to adjust the head and legs. He then made me a cup of coffee from this very Elite Miehle built-in coffee maker. ( When I get rich I am going to buy one of those. And, I will buy from Brian). I bought both mattress and adjustable frame. It's pure luxury. I am all set for my Saturday delivery. This old gal is happy and looking forward to finally getting a good night's sleep. Thank you, Brian. After doing our online research, reading of reviews, and price comparison, my wife and I still had unanswered questions about the dishwasher and double oven that we were planning to buy. After shopping at a nearby non-Airport Appliance store and not being helped (even though the store was not very busy with customers) we visited the Concord Airport Appliance. After a short while we were approached by Mike Moreno who asked whether we needed help or had any questions. Customer service seems to be disappearing these days. Refreshingly, that was NOT the case with Mike. Mike was knowledgeable, informative, personable and patient. Among many questions, we had one question regarding the "half load" wash option for the Bosch dishwashers and even though Mike didn't have a definitive answer, he answered honestly and transparently (apparently even the Bosch reps don't know the answer to this question). Unsolicited, Mike did, however, proceed to provide us with additional information regarding Bosch dishwasher's water efficiency compared to hand washing, and the ability of Bosch dishwashers to measure water turbidity and adjust water temperature and wash time. In the context of the question and discussion we were having, this was helpful and relevant information. So, Mike was listening to his customers. With the price matches provided and the stellar customer service delivered by Mike, I'd highly recommend seeing Mike Moreno at Airport Appliance, Concord. He'll take care of you. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by Apaulo Freitas, who made the entire experience enjoyable and stress-free. I have now bought two appliances at this store- a Bosch dishwasher in the summer of 2019 and a Frigidaire fridge during the pandemic disrupted fall of 2020. I worked both times with Ken Usedom, who is most helpful and has a wealth on knowledge about the various brands and models available in the market Before contacting Ken this year I studied the Airport website, which listed the details and dimensions of each available model. This was of special importance due to the restricted space available for placement of a fridge in my kitchen. I had initially selected a certain General Electic model as one fitting my restricted space. However, upon my contacting Ken on the telephone he was able to determine that delivery of this model was being delayed (probably due to "supply chain conditions"). Ken searched the market for me and located a similar Frigidaire model that would be available much more quickly. The Frigidaire was ordered, received at Airport, delivered and installed in my kitchen within four days. The machine morks well, meets my requirements, and will be reducing monthly electricity bills. In the process of renewing our kitchen (23 years old) we shopped around and decided choose Airport Appliance to buy our appliances, where we met William Ruperto. He knew his merchandise, their pros-cons, and was able to put together the package we needed for our kitchen. He even suggested that our old, side-by-side was at its end of life. After helping us select the models of KitchenAid appliances, including buying the KA's 48 inch side-by-side refrigerator, he tells us that there is a great promotional offered by KA that would give us a huge rebate. How nice! We recently received delivery of our appliances, minus one item because of noted damage. William took the responsibility to reorder a replacement. I was so worried that this would affect our rebate if it did not arrive by the rebate deadline requirement. After several messages to him and his responding assurances to me to not worry, the missing component finally arrived. Thanks to William, we have every component, our rebate is being processed, and now I'm just waiting for the kitchen remodeling to be ready for their installation. 5 stars is too low of a score for my washing machine purchase/ installation and follow up problem experience with sales associate Ken Usedom of Airport Home Appliances. As I leaned towards buying from a brick and mortar store due to possible after purchase issues, I took my specifications and met with Ken. He was extremely knowledgeable, professional, courteous, friendly and low pressure. The delivery / installation was the next day by equally professional and efficient installers. This was only the 5 star part. Later, a problem was discovered and relayed to Ken. He called me with the news that an exchange had been ordered and a new delivery date had been set for a few days later. Again, I was kept updated on the delivery progress. The second delivery installation crew was equally professional, knowledgeable and efficient. So, from the Tuesday to Sunday, a hassle free exchange had been made. Jigme at the Concord store should be awarded the MVP award for the type of service that he provided my wife and I while shopping for a counter depth refrigerator earlier this week. I had a good experience with Airport Appliance within the past 3 months on a new washer / dryer and they truly did honor their price match guarantee when I found it on sale cheaper during the guarantee time frame. This caused me to come back when our refrigerator began to become terminally ill. When I walked in, Jigme greeted me. I gave him the parameters of what I was looking for and Jigme walked me through all the refrigerators that he had meeting the criteria. He was even kind enough to carry his i pad around and check review ratings as I narrowed down my selection. When I did decide, Jigme was most competitive in pricing and delivery. Who says customer service is dead? That's what I keep hearing but that definitely was not true. My wife and I went into airport plants and a Sunday afternoon and was immediately greeted by Mike Moreno. We let him know what we were looking for, and he pointed out all available options. From here, he left us alone, but before we left he let us know if we needed any additional help that we could reach him directly and gave us a card. During the week we went to other Appliance showrooms, but to be honest, we just didn't care for their approach and really enjoyed Mike's easy going attitude and product knowledge. Once we decided to purchase the Bosch cooktop, I let Mike know and rather than having to go back into the store all the transaction was performed over the phone and through email which made this very convenient. My sales person was Calvin Tran. He was patient and listened to my needs. It was a pleasure working with Calvin after having had a HORRIBLE experience with Home Depot with the purchase and return of a defective LG front loading dryer, never took delivery of the washer, I purchased a Speed Queen washer and dryer set. I had been to several appliance stores and spoke with several appliance experts before deciding on Speed Queen. The set does not have all of the bells and whistles that some of the latest models have, but I wanted machines that would do the job and will last! Additionally, I needed a set that would fit into my existing indoor laundry area and I wanted a washing machine with an agitator because of being short...I was upside down in many of the top loading washers without an agitator in order to reach the bottoms. I have recently remodeled the interior of my home and the washer/dryer purchase was a necessity because my washer recently died. Shopping for appliances is not a fun exercise. There are so many choices, brands, sizes, prices, styles. I stumbled into the Concord Airport Appliances for the first time looking quite lost. A young man by the name of Jigne was "up" and we connected. I have several rentals and was in the process of remodeling one of them and needed every appliance possible for that house. My contractor had specifics to assure fit, etc. Rather than try to SELL me just anything he LISTENED to my wants, needs, budget, sizes, and he put together an amazing package that is in place today. Being knowledgeable, personable, customer service oriented in that store is named JIGNE. Ask for him, wait if you have to. It is well worth it. I have returned several times since that first experience with needs for other properties. JIGNE knows I will come back, asking for him. Customer Service and Good Communication is lost in many cases. Probably the worst company I have ever dealt with. The day we were purchasing our appliances (36" oven range, hood and built in microwave) everyone was coming around to make sure we are taken care of. the moment we signed and left all hell broke loose. First, we had to make several calls to get delivery status. They told us the delivery will be done by the installers. No such thing. after almost a month the product delivered and then we had to call back again to find out who is the installer so we can call them. Product was installed and naturally we were going to use it. The over has a loud FAN noise. the flames are not even. We called them. our sales person nowhere to be found. No manager would take my call. An associate took my call and told me they will contact us within 48 hours and if there is exchange/fix, there is a 25% restocking fee. NEVER in my life have heard any such thing. Go buy form Sears, Macys or anyone else, but not these people. Outmost unprofessional people ever met. read more

Ken Usedom was a great sales clerk to assist me with my purchase of a new refrigerator. He approached me right away and helped me find one that met my very precise specifications. I had started in the high end section, however after learning that my purchase was for a rental property, he quickly steered me towards the more reasonably priced ones. I appreciated that what he showed me were still high quality products and looked nice, but I didn't have to pay for all the extra bells and whistles that I don't need. We quickly located the right one for my needs, and he expertly rung me up for it. I was in-and-out of the store in just minutes which was critical to me for my busy schedule. My new refrigerator was delivered the very next day and the day after that I signed a lease with my new tenant. Their inventory online actually seems to be accurate because they asked if I had the SKU and it told them the same number available as what I saw online. I had called two other flooring stores nearby to see if they sell Y shaped spacers but they don't. Definite plus in how large their inventory and selection is. I will be going out of my way to cross the bridge to go to Floor and Decor for my next project needs.

At first, we were excited because the couch we purchased is nice and comfortable. We spent around $2,000 on furniture and paid an additional $200 delivery fee. The sales associate clearly told us that delivery would include removal of our old couches. That did not happen... When the movers arrived on Thursday, they delivered the new couch but refused to take the old ones. We were left with FOUR couches crammed into our living room and hallways, making our apartment basically unusable. When we asked the movers, they said it wasn't on their order. To make the matters worse, we tipped the movers under the impression they would be handling everything as promised ... but they simply left. When the movers called their supervisor asking for approval to pick up the old furniture, their supervisor said "No. Just leave. I need you guys at the next location." We contacted the store immediately, and the associate said because she forgot to notate it on the invoice that the old furniture needs to be removed, she would find someone to pick them up later that night. No one came. The next day, Friday, we followed up again and were told someone would "for sure" come Monday, leaving us with a claustrophobic living room for an entire weekend. Monday came and we received a call saying there was nothing they could do. No pickup. No solution. We were then offered a $100 store credit because apparently that's all they could do after spending $2,000+ and dealing with a situation that made our home unlivable for days. This entire issue happened because the associate failed to note the furniture removal on the order. We ended up having to rent a U-Haul and haul the couches to the dump ourselves, paying additional costs out of pocket. This experience was extremely frustrating and inconvenient. The lack of accountability and follow through is unacceptable. We will not be returning. We initially thought we would be able to purchase all of our furniture here, as we're in the process of replacing everything. However, after this experience, we will not be coming back. Originally, we planned to get an entire new set of furniture that same day & I'm honestly so glad we didn't because I can't imagine having double of everything in this case.
