One of the few breakfast places to eat in Buzzards Bay. This is unfortunate. We got there around 9AM on a Friday during the Summer. We were seated within 5 minutes and our order was taken within 5 more minutes. So far so good. It took 1.25 hours to get our food. The waitress was very apologetic and nice but the food took forever!! When my food did arrive my eggs were over cooked. Otherwise the food was not worth the wait. I will brave the bridge next l. We chose this restaurant from yelp when we needed a place for breakfast on our way home from the Cape. I was reading the reviews to my husband about the un-cleanliness of the restaurant, so he would know what we might be in for. We walked in, and the place was super clean, the floor was totally fine, tables were cleared and clean...so we laughed about the reviews. We placed our orders, and then proceeded to wait almost an hour for our food! It seemed like no food was coming out of the kitchen...every table in our half of the restaurant all seemed to be waiting for food. Kids were getting cranky at tables near us. Finally we got our food. The food was okay...there was nothing horrible about it, but there was nothing amazing about it either. The homefries were bland and mushy...the sausage onion omelet had huge chunks of raw onion, and seemed to be mostly cheese. My husband said the pancake on his combo plate was "fine". When we finished our meal, we waited another long period of time before getting our bill. If I were in a major pinch, and was not on any time restraint, I would MAYBE go back...but this will not become THE PLACE to go when heading home from the Cape. read more

I walked in. We sat down at the seats in the front to wait. There were 3 open tables. All dirty. We waited about 10 mins while no one cleaned the tables off. We decided to sit at a table that was not cleaned yet. The waitress proceeded to tell us all to get up for her to wipe the table. In a very rude tone. The short and sweet of it: Affordable diner food in a good atmosphere - you can drink and (apparently) come late at night! My friends have been going here for many (30?) years and swear by Leo's. It was my first time eating there with them. The cushioned booth seating fit our 5-person party with one sitting in a chair at the end. There are also tables. The atmosphere was light, clean and airy. We easily got a table on Sunday because we arrived around 11:15, after the church rush. My friends recommend the regular French toast and Italian omelette. I recommend the home fries; their version has potatoes cut into squares with hotness in the sauce. Not quite spicy but a pleasant kick, which I loved. The couple next to us got bowls of fresh strawberries and separate bowls of what looked like real whipped cream. The bill for 5 of us came to $60. I think that's a great price for the amount of food we got. If I went back, I would definitely get a mimosa and a bowl of strawberries with cream on the side for the table. I enjoyed going to a place my friends have considered a Cape staple for so long. I'm more of a late night person than early morning person so I might try out their night hours sometime. Someone else recommended their steak tips with the home fries. After bar hours? Fun! Some of their hours listed in Yelp were wrong - for example it said they're closed on Sundays which they've never been - so I took a picture of their posted hours as an update. The other reviews are spot on. It seems like there is one waitress (I wish I knew her name) that cares about the customers. She saw that I wasn't in a rush to pay and leave (the place was less than half full) and encouraged me to linger and kept refilling my coffee. I have been here a few times, never more than once a year although it is one of the closest breakfast places to my house. It is usually when ai want something different and hope that the place has improved. It gets crowded here on the weekend during the summer as it is onw of the only places around. Food is ok, basic breakfast fare. Homefries are a little greasy and the coffee is average. Cleanliness is ok but the place is dated. They do seem slow to clean off tables. If this place could just step up the service and maintenance, it could be a solid place. read more

We all enjoyed our breakfast. Kids got a mickey pancake w/hot chocolate. Ate it all. I had scrambled eggs with hash and toast. Very good, not a huge fan of the homefries that came with it. I'll give it 3.5 stars, needs to be refurbished inside and out, decor is old and faded, looks the same since I was a kid 15 year ago. On a happier note the breakfast was good, portion sizes were great and prices even better. Ended up with 2 coffees and 2 meals with toast and home fries for under $20. It was crowded but it's seat yourself first come so at least you aren't waiting at the door. I would give it another try next time I'm in the cape area. read more

I have been to Leo's many times, but only for breakfast each time. Apparently, they serve a light lunch menu as well, but they close by 1:30 PM each day. Their breakfast menu has all the traditional favorites, including eggs, omelettes (stuffed with your choice of meat, cheese, and veggies), pancakes, waffles, eggs benedict, egg and cheese sandwiches, etc. Today, I ordered a 2 egg omelette, stuffed with bacon and American cheese, home fries, and raisin toast. I came with my mother, who ordered one scrambled egg, with home fries, baked beans, and a grilled corn muffin. I got a glass of milk to drink (I finished the first glass, and requested a second one). My mother started out with hot coffee, but switched to milk after one cup. Everything was delicious, and the waitress was friendly. However, when we got the bill, it was over $30. Needless to say, we were shocked. I don't recall it being so expensive last time we were in there. I'm used to fine restaurants charging an arm and a leg, but not breakfast joints. This little joint was great for breakfast with our kids. I had the croissantwich with sausage and enjoyed it very much; my husband had blueberry pancakes and said they were quite good (and passed his "no uncooked batter/mushy middle" test). The girls enjoyed the coloring books but the food came so quickly they were sad they didn't get a chance to finish their pictures! Would come again. read more

A good breakfast in this area is expected and pretty much a commodity. While the wait for a table was less than 15 minutes, the wait for food was well over 30 minutes ... and no better than any other place (even Dunkin' Donuts) where you can get breakfast. No excuse, no explanation. A very average meal in a high traffic area where the service and quality can and should be much better. I think you'd do just as well at McDonalds or the Dunkin' Donuts drive thru. read more

Went in today, even though this page says it was closed. (I guess they need to update their hours). It was so busy that we had to share a table with a very nice family.(not sure why the staff couldn't separate the tables). The coffee was good and constantly refilled. The food was very good. Unfortunately our server did not hear my request for cheddar cheese in my omelet so I was given American which I don't care for. I ended up having to eat it since I was very hungry and I did not see the waitress again until after the meal was finished. She was quite slow taking our check from us and there was a line of people at the door who could have easily used the one or two tables we were occupying. All in all a good meal at a decent price. The service just needs to be a bit smoother, although the people are extremely friendly. read more

We noticed that Leo's is almost always crowded at breakfast time so decided to try it. The atmosphere is typical diner, busy and loud with lots of locals and a fair share of visitors. We found the service on both occasions to be ok, but slower than expected. Coffee is endless cup but it was tough for my hubby to get his cup filled. The food is typical diner fare with prices to match, fine. The only serious problem with Leo's is the discomfort of the booths. There is zero back support and the seats have deep "bottom" dents in them from years of use. Unless perhaps you are a very tall, large person, I can't imagine their booths would be comfortable. It's a backache in a booth waiting to happen so we now call Leo's 'Bacon and Backache.' Ha! read more

Very underwhelming experience. Waited nearly 45 min for our food to come out for a party of 2! When we were finally served the Eggs Benedict were just warm the "Canadian Bacon" was processed loaf ham & tasted stale. The Crab omelette even though imitation crab meat was decent but the "famous white sauce" was luke warm. Have to say the home fries were good. I agree the place definitely needs a cleaning. This was an absolutely wretched overall experience. Let me preface this review by saying we did not even eat the food. Upon entry into this run down shed they call a restaurant, my associates and I were stared down by a staff who looked as though they were ready to jump off the roof. We stood in this tiny establishment for 15 minutes without a single individual approaching us and asking us if we would like to be seated. When someone finally spoke to us, they said two words and immediately walked away. Please do yourself a favor and never frequent this place. we went there for breakfast on the 10th of June. We walked in and a waitress ushered us to a booth of which I saw her brush and ant off the table. She gave me coffee and didn't even wait for my husband to get to the table to ask him if he wanted coffee. We received coffee and placed our order. The waitress was not at all friendly. As we waited I saw another ant. Our order came and I ordered a waffle and my husband ordered eggs. I poured maple syrup on my waffle and an ant came out of the container. I looked in and there were more inside. I told the waitress and she said oh they get on the outside of the container when it isn't washed off. I told her I did not want the waffle, I would get eggs instead. She never said oh I am sorry for that or even asked what I wanted with the eggs. I looked under the table and there was a rotted area against the wall where I believe they were coming in. I don' believe she even told the manager and never even suggested a discount for the ants. We will never go there again read more

Only thing good about this place is that they serve bloody Mary's and mimosa's. Went in on a Friday morning, not too busy, only 2 waitresses, Unfortunately, we had the worse out of the two. Sat down, asked for two mimosa's and we were told, well, I'm too busy for that right now but I'll be right back. (wait, what)?. She comes back with them within 10 mins. Now the wait for ordering food. Yup, 25 mins we waited to place a food order, though she walked by about 10 times telling us she'd be right with us. Meanwhile she's going from table to table complaining on how busy she was (we don't want to hear it, we just want to eat). Finally we got to order, we had eggs bene, and French toast and we both ordered a side of sausage.. It was obvious that they put those sausages into the fryolator to heat them up, they were utterly disgusting. red potato home fries were bland, service was awful, place needs to be updated (it's stuck in the 70's). read more
