The food was surprisingly quite good. I expected it to be alright-good, but it was like really good. I ordered the gyro with the greek salad. Dang, that greek salad must be like what they are known for, because it was so good for just being a simple salad. The gyro was quite good as well. My dear friend ordered the fish n chips (fries) which came with coleslaw. The fish was veryyy good! The rest of her meal was just okay. Went to this location this morning, between an emergency work call-in and our regular shift. We ordered food and coffee at 6 am. By 6:30, our food was still not out, so we asked to have it boxed to-go because we had to get to work. Waitress non-chalantly stated that she didn't think our food was even started yet, because they had a big catering order to fill. When we asked how long to wait foe it, we were told another 20 minutes! We could wait no longer. Server never apologized. Seemed indifferent to us. We asked her why she didn't notify us early that there may be a delay and she simply said we didn't seem in a hurry....very disrespectful to assume we wouldn't mind waiting an hour at a Coney Island for our food, without any heads up!! She simply said we could pay for our coffees and go. Thanks for nothing. I can understand a kitchen back-up, but I would never treat my customer with such disregard. So disappointed. Five minutes later during a smooth sweep, with the coffee pot, breezing by our booth my wife requested a straw during her next walkthrough. Good place to go when you need fast service. Almost too fast - my chicken wrapped showed up two spoonfuls into the soup I was served first. Food quality? Well it's consistent, which is a good thing. The service was wonderful. The wait staff here is wonderful. The kitchen on the other hand is abysmal. I can't remember when I have been served such a bad breakfast. We ate maybe half and decided to hit the road and find something else. The American fries were luke warm, the steak was watery, they didn't read the ticket and missed an item on the order. Got two large Greek salads with chicken last night. Felt bad it was right before close so I just picked it up rather than us dining in. The salads were well put together and everything's was fresh and tasted really good. Paying my bill was quick and I like pretty much every server that works there. They all do a good job. Was a slow end of the night for them, the place was quiet but still full of smiles and good times. The staff seems to enjoy working there. We quite like this place for its food and great staff. As I was waiting, I witnessed the staff packaging the fried chicken dinner with the styrofoam container fully melted through. I addressed to the staff and she responded, "It's fine. It's fine. It's because it's hot. Any containers would melt because it's hot. What do you want me to do? It's fine!" Quick stop for lunch today. Can't usually go wrong with a Coney Island. Never been to this one before and it was around Noon so we had breakfast materials. She had an omelette, Feta and Spinach with added gyro meat, I had their 3 meat skillet. She says her omelette was wonderful, she says that usually when you get anything with feta, it's usually watery, but not today. While my skillet was good, however I've never had a skillet breakfast that came on a plate before. It was good, but not what I expected. The best Leo's there is! The place is busy yet quick service. It's clean and the food is excellent. I usually get the Chicken Finger Pita. It's always made exactly the same no matter when I order it. They're very consistent. I love the ranch with it. Today, I tried the Cole slaw, it was great. Not too sour and a bit sweet. Eat here often because of the proximity to my house. Very hit or miss. Came in tonight 45 minutes before closing, my mom ordered fish and chips. The waitress informed us the cooks had shut off the fryer and could not make the fish. We started to leave and suddenly the cook yells out that the fryer was still hot so he could make it. My burger came out missing the top bun which came on a separate plate with my side of mayo. The onion had fuzzy green mold which can be seen in my photo. Bad breakfast. Ordered eggs,ham, hash browns and rye toast. In less than 5 minutes the food was served. A bit too fast. Bread was in the toaster just long enough to dry out the outside not toast it. Ham was good but barely warm. The hash browns were dry, hard and the inside rubbery. My guess is they are the rehydrated, boxed potatoes that had been sitting on the edge of the grill for a couple hours. The restaurant was not even half full and very noisy. No tables, just booths.
