However, after trying other groomers and consistently receiving glowing feedback about my dog's sweet behavior, it became clear that this wasn't the right fit. At other places, my dog is calm and content. One instance that sealed my decision was when I got a call, 30 minutes after picking up my dog, saying he was ready for pickup. When I mentioned that I had already taken him home, there was no apology... just "ok" before hanging up. Like excuse me? No sense of security here. I gave him a gabapentin prescribed by the vet to give both, my cat & Edith an easier time, but he still put up a good fight. He's a long hair Maine Coon mix and he had matting & long nails.
