I love falafels and if I find a place that makes the falafel sandwich, I am ALL in! So , I ran into this one near Don Quixote. Quick service Greek food located outside of Don Quijote. Called in my order of a gyro combo($13) and picked it up about 15 minutes later with no wait. Their combo is totally worth it. For $13 you get, fries, gyro, and canned drink. There's so much fries and the gyro is pretty large that I couldn't even finish all of it. It's a one man operation that works pretty efficiently but if you're in a rush or don't feel like possibly waiting in line I'd recommend you call in your order. read more

Pretty good Gyros! Located outside in the food court area at Ala Moana Don Quixote. A take out kiosk but after ordering, you can sit at the numerous tables tight next to it. Ordered the #1 Gyro Sandwich (my first time eating here), and it was totally fine. Tasty and filling. With a can of soda, the total was just under $13. Seem to be a popular place as there is a constant stream of people arriving and ordering food! My food came in under 5 minutes wait by Leo, the hard working one man show! Kiosk outside of the Keheka Don Quixote food court. We used go sometimes go to the downtown one but this location much more convenient. It's a one man show so you'll have to wait a bit for the food. The menu offers gyros sandwiches, falafel, moussaka, chicken, spanakopita and other yummy items. We like to get a gyros sandwich for a quick take away but today we got the moussaka plate $14.55 Nice helping of layered eggplant topped with a béchamel sauce, rice pilaf, green salad, hummus and a pita. It's been here for years!!! I don't usually make my way around this side but when I do I always try to get a Gyro from Leo's. The flavor is perfect with loaded meat and perfect amount of sauce. The veggies in the sandwhich are also always fresh. The customer service is mediocre. But the speed of service is good, they get the food out pretty quick. It's a small stand alone shop in front of Don Quixote, there are so many different foods in the area. Parking is limited in front but there is also parking across the street in the parking lot. Lunch in Honolulu, Hawaii... There are so many food vendors outside of Don Quijote on Kaheka Street. Leo's Taverna Express is one of them. Serving up Greek Cuisine, I waited in shared outdoor seating area until Leo's opened at 10:30am. When the window of the kiosk opened, I ordered a Gyro Sandwich. In no time, the young man handed me a foil covered package and I took a seat. The meat was tender and served hot. The fresh veggies were crunchy. The sauce was mild and creamy. The pita held everything together well. Overall, it was okay. Maybe it needed more flavor? Maybe I should have ordered the moussaka, baklava, or spanakopita? It's very convenient - not like driving out to Hawaii Kai, Kailua, or Kahala for Greek food. ...and the shared parking lot is free - not like downtown. So, I'll probably be back! read more

My Uber driver suggested this place. Said it's the best gyro on the island. It's right outside of Don Quijote. I agree, this is the best gyro on the island, and quite honestly the best I've had. Everything tasted fresh. The meat, the lettuce, onions, tomatoes and pita bread. It was so good. I wish I found this place sooner cause I'd ate here more than once. When in San Diego, I have a favorite Greek Restaurant that I go to specifically for Moussaka. I've been craving Moussaka and I finally ventured out of my Condo and walked two blocks to Leo's Taverna Express. I yelped and knew they had Moussaka. So glad I did, their Moussaka hit the spot. I was picking up a large order and was lucky that I had cash on hand. I think there's an ATM nearby. Food was good. I had the gyro plate. It was tasty and will order again. I got to the Don Quijote location an opening and was planning to get the roasted eggplant plate, but I think I was too early, so settled on an order of Dolmates, Falafel Plate and Chicken Wrap. Upon arriving home, I dove into the Dolmates which is a stuffed grape leaf and wow was it a refreshing bite accompanied by some tzatziki sauce. Started on the Falefel plate and the crunchy outside with a tasty textured inside just hit the spot (I thought why didn't I order 2 plates?). The accompanying pita bread with the tasty hummus balanced the meal along with the fresh salad with its subtle yet tasty dressing. The chicken wrap was very tasty and refreshing too. Suffice it to say I wiped out both the Dolmates and Falafel plate in their entirety and have left overs of the chicken wrap for dinner or snack. Residing on the leeward side does not offer me much opportunity for greek food which is either in town or farther away. But now I will have Leo's Taverna on my rotation after a session at the beach. This is a must try spot for healthy foods especially since I can't eat red meat due to diet health restrictions. I've been going to Leo's for many years - the food is yummy, fresh & hot, and the folks there are nice. I usually get the chicken kebab plate, though I got the (minced) beef lule kebab special today. It reminded me of a really good beef hot dog ... and I love hot dogs! I also love Leo's because it's open in the late afternoon after lots of downtown have already closed, so It's a go-to option for a late lunch. read more

Finally tried this place. The falafel was overcooked, too hard and not tasting right to us. The gyros was okay, not great, won't get from here again. We really enjoyed the Waikiki location, except the parking situation there stinks. But, the food is good in Waikiki. This Kaheka location isn't good in our opinion so we will have to go to Waikiki again. We do love the skewers from Wagyukushi which is directly opposite this kiosk at Don Quijote. We usually get 4 plates a week from there as it is on our rotation and we eat out at least 5 times a week and those skewers are DELISH. read more

I wish I came to this place sooner! Located in front of Donkis in a little stand alone hut right next to cafe kyra and in front of a bakery. You can't miss it! I haven't had affordable Greek food in awhile since the fat Greek closed down so I decided to give this place a try! They only take cash here which is the downside. I opted for the humus which was about 6$ and included 1 bread. I wish they included one more! But the portion is quite generous. I also got a gyro which also was about 6$ and it was filled with meat and fresh veggies. The service was friendly and the wait wasn't too long. This is the worst Greek food i've ever had. You could do better yourself by picking up the ingredients at the grocery store. This tsatsiki was the consistency of half and half cream or milk, and it tasted like fish. The hummus and the tahini tasted tinny. They must have come straight from a can. The falafel was dried out and obviously not hand-made as each was identical. I suspect they were previously frozen for a long time and definitely overcooked. I threw most of it in the rubbish as it was disgusting. That was a colossal waste of money, and i'm still hungry. Don't do it. read more
