Came here with a friend for an early dinner/late lunch. There were no one but us around so we were sat fairly quickly. I really wanted to try their mozzarella sticks but they were out! So sad. As a home cook I love treating myself every now and then. And when I do I love coming to Auntie Pasto's Everything was absolutely amazing given we did come within the last two hours before closing but service was great. Everyone was so friendly. The food was scrumptious so ONO! The mood inside very is giving classic mom&pop Italian restaurants. I love how the tables are with the menus already there so you can kind of just look at it and still have it without it being in the way of your food. The portion sizes are huge. I couldn't even finish my pasta. I had to take home my left overs but more for later is always good. Ignore the previous reviews from this place, it was so delicious and the service was 10/10! My husband and I had been wanting to try it for a while so we finally went. We were seated immediately and taken care of the entire night. I didn't get our waiters name but he was fantastic! Last year I seen the news they said this eatery was closing their doors so I had to try them out before they close . I remember when Aunty Pasto's was located somewhere else. When they moved to where they are now, my family stopped going, I think because parking can kind of be difficult to find. I recently went back to Aunty pastos though because I was on the hunt for the best eggplant parmigiana and the reviews here were good! I called in an order and picked up on afternoon before going to a potluck. I ordered the eggplant parmigiana with spaghetti and the fresh clams with linguine. Pick up was easy and fast. As I was waiting for the guy to get my order form the kitchen, I was looking at the menu and around the restaurant. It's a pretty big space and nicely decorated. They had some lunch specials posted on the wall too that seemed affordable. When I got to the potluck, everyone loved both pasta dishes. I liked the interesting shape of the fettuccine noodles and I think of the two, I preferred the clam sauce. I'd be back for some delicious pasta. Happy National Pasta Day!! October 17th is the day to celebrate all things pasta and this noodle nut sure am happy to do so and here I am at Auntie Pasto's! Most probably of location I've never been here before though their address is S Beretania the entrance is on a super busy Pensacola Street with metered parking that's usually quite difficult to secure though I was hoping to get lucky which I did so here we go! I admit it's quite simple with the basic menu offerings I know it's gonna be pasta not ravioli, lasagna or the blunt penne pastas lol but which one is the question. I was immediately greeted by the server which seems to be the only front of the house staff as I see no other besides the kitchen she handled herself lovely as she brought me some water and took my order of "Mixed Mushroom" tossed in marinara sauce I wanted spaghetti and was surprised how fast it arrived along with some house bread with a dish of olive oil, I also ordered a Strawberry Italian Soda which was nice and refreshing. The pasta was nice and basic a generous portion topped with shredded parmesan cheese and a sprig of fresh basil is a beautiful presentation. Wished that they did offer some chili pepper flakes and/or parmesan cheese not sure if they have and I didn't ask it's just normal for me that they offer it like many other places do so...a simple thing like that is a nice touch. I ordered the Fresh Fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp, and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. The pasta was delicious, though they were a little too generous with the sauce for my taste. My companion ordered the Carbonara with spaghetti and it was rich, smoky from the bacon . . extremely tasty! We also got the Fennel, Sausage & Roasted Pepper pizza (which tasted like they used Hillshire Farms sausage), but still done well. And their Homemade Tiramisu was so light, it melt in my mouth, and very flavorful. Service was very amiable, sweet and attentive. Not bad since they use quality ingredients and it's far from the box pizza stores. The restaurant was not as crowded as I am used to seeing. We need to keep small local businesses going. First time visiting here and I thought it was mediocre at best. I was craving a caprese and it was very disappointing. Caprese is 3 ingredients; good tomatoes, basil and fresh mozzarella. The tomatoes were crunchy and not ripe and red. The mozzarella texture seemed like it was the "fresh" kind that is vacuum packed, not the kind that is stored in its own whey water. The basil was fine and fresh. I also ordered a side of the sausage, peppers and onions. I did not care for the sausage, but that is just my subjective opinion. Well, went to lunch today, and I'm happy to say those reviews are wrong. Auntie Pasto's is the same if not better. Service was excellent and the inside was as it always ways. Menu looked more extensive, but I got an old fave, eggplant parm. My friend got a pepperoni pie. Both came out quickly and were presented well. eggplant parm was perfectly crisp and cut in big, hearty slices. Sauce was just as a remembered it, delicious. Penne was perfect. Yes I've also posted this review on google! This isn't spam or false;it's purely a warning for everyone who's planning to go. We found a roach in our pasta and it was a roach nymph. Which means this place is most definitely infested with roaches. The worst part is when we told the staff, they offered to make a new one? Why would I want anything from the kitchen after finding a roach in my food. We again asked for it to be taken off the bill, but nope! Me and my friend literally went out the restaurant to the bank to get cash as they put a 18% charge for apple pay and card. Guess what, when the staff bring out the bill there's the 18% fee--we were paying with cash? This place is seriously so lame, the staff is not hospitable and they are extremely slow paced too. I just ate at Auntie Pasto's and everything from the food to the service was excellent. Our waiter was really kind and as vegetarians the options we found were excellent. The Eggplant Parmesan was the best I have ever eaten in any restaurant and crunchy. The sauce for both the creamy pesto pasta and spaghetti was cheesy and creamy. The tiramisu had a strong coffee flavor and could have had a little more sugar. It was also plated really well. Tried the "Lunch Special" of the day which was chicken Caesar salad for $8.95. There were four thin slices of chicken breast (less than half of a breast) and a few chopped romaine leaves with three sweet (confusing taste) croutons. The chicken was moist and tasty but there was so little of it. - "Bolognese" $19 Small portion of ground beef in a marinara sauce so a meat sauce but not a bolognese. Decent flavor but underwhelming. Penne, spaghetti and angel hair are options for choice of pasta. Saw a previous review and this dish was $18 just 3 months ago. We all know product prices increased and will lead to costlier food when eating out. However, since a lot of us aren't eating out as much, it hurts the wallet even more when prices don't justify quality or portions.
