Hidden Gem in Pioneer! We can't believe we drove past this place for nearly two years without stopping -- what a hidden gem! Being from the Bay Area, we're used to having tons of great Chinese food options, and this spot absolutely holds its own among the best. The restaurant was very clean, the staff was friendly, and we received our food within 10 minutes of ordering. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The hot and sour soup was easily one of the best we've ever had -- perfectly balanced and full of depth. The Mongolian beef was delicious, and the shredded pork in Peking sauce was outstanding as well. We're so happy to have found a quality Chinese restaurant so close to home. Get the POT STICKERS! Everything I've had here is good, great or excellent. The family running it is always friendly. The place could use a sprucing up but maybe I'm being picky. This place is cornerstone for Pioneer. The food we had was really good. The portions were large and every dish came with a free egg roll or crab rangoon. Crab rangoons were great, and they offered complimentary soups. Super nice family. Their service didn't end there. Our car battery died while we were there. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with warm, friendly service that instantly made us feel at home. The prices are very reasonable, the portions are large, and there is no shortage of fresh options; I mean, the menu is 4-5 total pages! The food? Incredible! Everything is cooked to order, and our dishes came out piping hot and flavorful. We ordered the Orange Chicken and Mongolian beef combination plate with the Potstickers. Each plate came with Egg Drop soup, Fried Rice, Chow Mein, an Egg Roll, and a Crab/Cheese Wonton - yes, EACH plate! The fried dishes are crispy and cooked to perfection, and the authenticity of the flavors took me back--I haven't had Chinese food this good in over a decade! No wonder the locals flock here to dine in, order out, or grab a quick to-go meal. Le's Chinese is a treasure, and we will be back. Came back to this gem to get some comfort Chinese food. We got to chatting with the chef this time who also gave us recommendations on what to order. We got the hot and sour soup, deep fried eggplants, honey crispy prawns, mixed veggies, and garlic fried chicken. Everything came out within minutes and SUPER tasty! This is a clean average quality Chinese food restaurant. To address the other reviews regarding the quality of the food. If you think Panda Express is Chinese food then this food will be just as good quality. I really am happy with the friendly owner and staff. They always get your orders out quickly and takeout orders are always correct. The cost is reasonable for the location . We stopped here on our way through. As of today Le's is still take out only. We sat in the parking lot and they provided us with plates and forks. The owners were very nice. The food was GREAT!! We are staying at our cabin in the area and have never tried this place before even having been here for years! We ordered Sweet and Sour Chicken, House Fried Rice, Pot Stickers, General's Chicken and Egg Rolls. The Pot Stickers were good and the dipping sauce that came with them was very good. Together they were delicious! The Egg Rolls were good and hot. The Generals Chicken was very good with a little bit of heat ! The House Fried Rice was good, but a little sparse with the goodies! It's hit or miss, but in my experience, it's mostly a hit. Something I appreciate is they don't use as much salt as the Chinese restaurants I went to when living in Citrus Heights (Sac County). I wonder if it's because many of their patrons are elderly? All you need is to add soy sauce to get the level of salt and flavor you prefer. They don't use MSG, so that's a plus. Overall, I'm super appreciative that we have Le's Chinese (and every other restaurant) up here. It's nice to have an occasional treat, especially not having to cook. We don't have many options, so I appreciate the options we do have. We usually get the combination lunch or dinner plate, where you choose your entree and it comes with fried rice, chow mein, an egg roll, soup and cheese turnover. The dinner also comes with sweet and sour pork and a prawn. My favorite entrees that come with the combo include the general chicken and pork with vegetables. The cashew chicken and broccoli beef are also good. We weren't fans of the lemon chicken, but everything else we've tried has been great! read more
