The food smelled incredible though. I was worried when I was ordering because the butter chicken was $18 which seemed reasonable until I realized that didn't come with anything else, not even rice. I added some rice, some garlic naan, and a couple of samosas and it was over $30 for my dinner before tip. I had high hopes. Did I mention it smelled amazing? The ride home with that bag of food in the car was agonizing. When I got home there was about 2 and 1/2 cups of butter chicken, two cups of rice, two samosas, and a good sized naan, so you could actually probably feed two people with this meal. That made me feel a lot better about the cost. The food itself was very good. The butter chicken was spicier than I am used to, so I was only able to eat a small portion of it, but I finished the rest the next day. Leftovers are always nice. I would probably skip the naan next time, but the samosas were very tasty and a good size, so I would definitely get those again. I did like the chicken and it wasn't like some buffets that just use the scrappy pieces for the buffet like backs and rib cages of the chicken. They had the thighs, breasts must be used for something else. The rice was light and fluffy like it's supposed to be and the Tikka Masala was good on it. I had my fill and waddled on out full of tandoori chicken. That's one dish I have no idea how to cook, so I'll do a buffet and eat all I want!

The rice was slightly on the dry side, but pairing it with the creamy butter masala balanced it out well. The real standout for me, though, was the garlic naan. These are by far the most flavorful I've ever had. Unfortunately, Cold Springs Food Mart is located off a very winding road about 12 minutes from Placerville. Customer services isn't really existent which I can over look because its basically a convenience store that makes food. Mondays they don't serve food but have pre-made samosa's food sale.
