From what I understand, they had some building issues they were working through, and then their landlord passed away. So we were SO pleasantly surprised to find out they had reopened in a new location... the old Denny's building in Jackson! The best part? The food is still just as delicious as we remembered! They've added a lunch buffet, there's a lot more seating, and the new space looks really nice while still having that familiar feel. Sean got his usual chicken tikka masala, and I decided to try the veggie tikka masala this time. Both were absolutely excellent...packed with that rich, delicious Indian flavor we love. We also got the garlic naan, and everyone at the table enjoyed the whole meal. We're so happy they're back! If you love Indian food, definitely give Taste of Himalaya a try. We'll be back every time we're in town!

Visiting family and from a place that has almost no Indian food, so I was excited to have some of…read moremy favorite cuisine. I ordered food to go, to bring it back to my mother-in-law's and feed us all. Personally I got the non-vegetarian Thali Dinner... it was fantastic! I received more food that I could have imagined for $22, and among it all was a lamb samosa that I can only describe as my favorite new comfort food I never knew I longed for. I've never had one, not sure I would have ordered one had it not come with the dinner, and can't explain the favor other than to say iykyk. And I will go back here just for them alone. It tastes like being welcomed home. But also the curry was delicious. My kids got their own butter chicken and finished mine too. And to top it all off the kheer (rice pudding) was a perfect compliment to ensure I could eat no more. While my wife and I waited (we ordered there) we were offered water, and given little glasses of their mango lassi (a lovely and hospitable gesture that made us hope the food was good so we wanted to come back all the more). We've already talked about taking the family there next time, because it feels like a place that is glad you've come, and the food is hella good!

Hmmmm. Wanted to like this place. I try to support just about any restaurant offering a buffet,…read moreespecially South Asian restaurants. The Good: - The price is definitely on the more reasonable side. - The decor is very nice and clean. - The one waiter was very pleasant and attentive (I'm thinking maybe it is the owner). The Not-So-Great: - Most of the flavors of the food are off. The Aloo Matar was bland. The Chicken Korma was way heavy on the cardamom. The Palak Paneer was oddly sweet. The Dal Makhani was crunchy and undercooked. The Tandoori Chicken was dry and underseasoned. The chili cauliflower was too mushy and sweet. There was a strange item like an inverted grilled cheese sandwich with a tomato soup filling? Didn't quite know what to make of that. The rice, veggie spring rolls and naan were passable. - The music streaming from the TV was aggressive and distracting since the signal kept going out. It would go from loud and clamorous to dead silent frequently. There were barely any customers there which is never a good sign. I'm not feeling very positive about this place staying in business for very long. I'll just say that there's way better competition out there to make it unlikely I'll return. I hope they figure out a better formula.

We have a couple of places we like, but they are either take out only or don't have a vibe inside that makes dining in seem like a good option. Wow am I glad we tried Indian Flavors! Not only was the service fantastic and dining experience wonderful, but the food! Wow! I had only had Korma at these other places, thinking I loved it. Well I did love those places, but I don't think I will be able to go back. The amount of love put into the dish really showed me how little I knew about how good it could be. It really was something special. Paired with their garlic naan (one of many Indian bread options I plan to try) it was seriously spectacular. This alone earns a 5 out of 5. They also brought out this dessert cheese dish for us that was so packed with flavor we both had to do a double take. They apparently have a lunch buffet with a super reasonable price that I will surely be trying. I have gone basically my whole life eating the staple butter chicken, but this restaurant helped me fortify how much I love Korma while inspiring me to expand my taste and try new Indian dishes. I hope Lodi, Galt, and the surrounding cities can help support this restaurant. What I tried was special. The Mexican restaurant that used to be here was a favorite of many locals but didn't make it. Please try this place if you love Indian food and help make sure we keep restaurants like this in our town.

We were traveling south from Sacramento and decided to stop…read more The garlic naan was the star of the show for us! It was some of the best I've ever had. We started with samosa chaat. The samosa was crispy and the chick pea curry was fantastic!! Unfortunately the tamarind sauce was ketchup. I was disappointed, but the other amazing components almost made up for it. We ordered chicken makhni and saag paneer for our entrees. Neither was what we have come to expect for these dishes, but both were tasty, so maybe it's just a regional flavor? The chicken was a little sweet and the paneer dish much less creamy than I'm used to. Tasty, but different! The young lady who waited on us was a delight! Attentive and helpful. One area for improvement is maybe clearing the empty dishes off of the table as we finish. She's young and learning, so I can't fault her much. The dining room is clean and orderly - cloth napkins on the tables. The chilled water bottle for each table earns major points in my book! I wish them much success!
