I've been a Les Scwab customer for 36 years but I no longer buy from this location. For the last 8=10 years the routine has been the same. They apply pressure to make repairs that are generally not needed. And they use scare tactics if you resist. They wanted to replace the struts on my Volvo. It's been 5 years and the struts are just fine. When you need tires they only show you the 3 or 4 most expensive. When you start to walk out the door they will show you the rest. Yesterday I was introduced to "weather checking". Long story short, I was warned these tires could "come apart' at any time. They were Michelin tires with 34,000 miles on them. They look fine...lots of tread left. But I was told my life was in danger driving on them. I will continue to buy Les Schwab tires, but not from this location. I never had these problems with their Emmett or State Street stores. I'll buy my tires at those stores. This never would have happened when Les, the founder, was running things. read more

I called Les Schwab in Eagle, ID for a price on an alignment. I gave the person on the phone year, make and model, 4 wheel drive SUV. I hear it's $56.00 or so I get there early for my appointment. When they put my vehicle on the rack, that might be where they figured out that it's 4 wheel drive, like I told them on the phone. He tells me it's going to be $83.00 because it's 4 wheel drive. Fine, I don't have time to do this again. Then he comes back to tell me they have to replace cam bolts. this is now a $251.00 visit. No, finish the alignment. I'm out. Funny, it doesn't really matter what you bring them for an alignment, I have been in there with several vehicles. It's the same story every time. Prices and tire selection are good and I've had acceptable service in the past from this location but not with my last experience. When they were finished rotating my tires on my full sized truck they parked it way to the left of the store tightly between to other vehicles. I could barely get into my vehicle and I was so close to the others that my proximity sensors were going off. There was not one car parked in front of their store. After my tire rotations my front end was making a clunking noise when I came to a stop and took off and my brakes were making a loud noise when I backed up. Neither of these were occurring prior to the rotation. I removed my front tire to see what the problem was and found out that it was not put on correctly and my hub was moving back and forth causing the noises.This is unacceptable and 'tire mounting 101' to make sure that all of the lugs are tightened evenly and consistently and mine were not. After replacing my tire the noises stopped. When I complained to the main office in Oregon I received NO reply. I will not be going back to the Eagle location and probably will not be buying any tires from them either which is a shame since they are only a mile away. read more

I have a jacked up truck with 37's and a 6 inch lift and some steering problems. I took it in and they installed a new gear box and it turned out to be a faulty unit. They took the truck right back and overnighted another redhead gearbox installed it no questions asked and had me down the road. With all the work we did in the front end it was kind of tough figuring out exactly what the problem was but they did it and did it with a smile on their face. I have purchased tires from Les Schwab in Eagle for YEARS (probably around 9 sets of 4) and have been pleased with their service till today. I ask for a simple pressure check on my trailer tires (also purchased at Les Schwab in Eagle) The woman at the front counter informed me she would have someone do my tire check. Five minutes later another customer pulled up for tire check and was waited on and out the door as I stood waiting. All this is no big deal until I asked the same woman if I had been forgotten or needed to move my trailer somewhere more convenient. She was very very rude and reminded me I was next in line. After a few more minutes she informed me that the guy working on a 5th Wheel would help me. Well that guy had a lot of tires he was in the middle off fixing. After waiting around some more I started to realize that they had no intention following through with their "promises" in helping me do a simple tire pressure. So I had to borrow a tire gauge from the guy working on the 5th wheel and had to check them myself. The woman at the front desk was very rude rude rude. Scott S. read more

My son had an alignment done at this location. They screwed up and caused damage by not tightening a bolt properly causing the truck to burn through two sets of bearings in less than 2 months. Another auto mechanic who had been replacing the bearings figured it out contacted us. The auto mechanic contacted Les Schwab and they sent a tech out to look, tech agreed Les Schwab was at fault. But the so called Manager Darrin won't follow through says it wasn't there fault....My family and I have done a lot of business with Les Schwab, this is very disappointing. They have lost my business so much for community, honesty!!! read more

I have heard that this particular Les Schwab is not a good example of the chain. They are horrible. I took my wife's car in for a snow tire change. The snow tires are Bridgestone Blizzak which they don't sell. They refused to put them on because they were worn. I measured them and they had 6/32nds of tread on two and 8/32nds on the other two. Unless you want some of their crappy Toyo tires only, stay away. read more

I am so grateful that my latest experience with this particular store did not destroy my brand new truck. Over the winter I found that I had left my truck in 4 wheel drive and it got stuck, I only realized this when I started up the truck to take it to the store to have the air in the tires adjusted (my truck does not get used often). The store is just a couple blocks from my house so no big deal to drive it over there. As I pull in two men rush out to take care of the truck and I explain it all. After fiddling with my truck and trying to pressure me into replacing a $150 part I drove the truck away with absolutely nothing resolved. I pulled to the side of the road just after leaving the store and tried a maneuver that I read about online with the shifter and the truck released the 4 wheel drive right away but then all of a sudden my dash says to service my 4 wheel drive. My truck is under warranty so I made an appointment with the dealer. Guess what the dealer found!!! The particular part that the "helpers" wanted to replace so badly had been unplugged and had been unplugged by them (they told me that they unplugged it but put it back together when I said no to their sales pressure). Nothing was wrong with my truck, what a bunch of crooks!! Do not let this place touch your vehicle, that type of crooked behavior always starts at the top and trickles down so if that is the business practice of this place then run!! read more

I went into the Eagle branch today to have my brakes fixed and 2 new tires put on. They were super busy but told me it would be an hour and 15 minutes. I asked if that were for both brakes and tires and they said yes. After an hour and 5 minutes and my car is still outside, I asked how much longer. They got the car in when it should have been done. Shawn comes out to lecture me about not getting the tires the tires rotated, and I'm thinking who would if it takes an hour and a half? I ask again about my brakes, but he's really only wanting to sell me tires, obviously. He comes back later and says the pads are fine, but I want to know about the rotors. They didn't check that! So I've been there 2 hours, talked to 3 people about checking my brakes, been lectured to by a tire tech, and still have no answer about the rotors. So why would I go back for slow, inept service service for a tire rotation or new brakes? read more
