I'd used this business for years, for both tires and vehicle repairs, but no more. The first disappointment was when we returned with a leaking tire. We were told it was ok - "go out and drive around on it". Predictably, it went flat, and then they charged us to tow it back in. Asking the manager for some consideration - we HAD brought it in asking for service - made no difference. The next incident was a brake job on my wife's car. The brakes failed a week later in traffic. Thankfully no one hurt. They did repair that system (i hope) again, for free, but left the interior surfaces slimed with greasy hand prints. These guys work as a team, they all watch to help each other out, help to prepare for the work that their co-workers are about to perform. They greet you almost before you can get out of your car and or if you also drive a 10 wheel, 20 wheel tractor/doubles trailer combination rated at 80 GVW. They service my 4runner impeccably and they serviced my Volvo VNL impeccably while OTR at 2 AM +/-, you can't do better than a team, they function to serve their customers as a team. They fix my flats for free, how could I not be grateful? The guys are always kind, even when I'm frazzled and not at my best. When Firestone told me I needed new tires, the guys at LS let me know I didn't. 3 years later when I finally did, I went to LS and they didn't try to upsell me at all. Very pleased. Arrived before noon needing tire rotation: "no charge," I was told. There were a few folks waiting ahead of me. More than one hour later, my SUV was still in the lot. I went to the desk. I was told it would be an additional wait of 1 1/2 hours before they could even get to my car. There were now five or six cars ahead of mine on the wall schedule. NO communication at all. A "who cares" attitude when I mentioned I was surprised at the lack of notice of wait time--- if it was going to be two-and-a-half hours+, did the guy at the desk think I was going to sit there all that time, not even counting the actual work time? read more

We had an incredible experience here. I had to make an emergency stop at a gas station when I picked up a nail in my tire. After loading the tire full of fix a flat I dropped by les schwab's to fix the issue. The staff literally came running out to greet me. They rook my keys and in less than an hour had my truck ready to go. I went to grab my wallet and the guy behind the counter said they'll waive the $14.00 fee because the tires are from schwab's even if I'm not the original buyer. read more

I'm writing this to make sure to communicate the issue before the new CA owners' take over. I'm sorry to report that after 20years we are no longer Les Schwab customers. Last spring and this fall, I made multiple efforts online/phone to set up an appointment to switch out tires to the ones they have in storage for us in Prineville. This time (fall)I asked for the appointment to be at the Cooley Rd store. No can do. Must be at the Franklin store, since that's where the tires were removed. Why, aren't the tires in Prineville? Yes, they are, it's just policy? Okay, got to my appointment at the Franklin store. No tires. They had not retrieved them from Prineville. Can we come back later? Last spring, it was a hassle too, setting up the appointment and retrieving tires. Once in the stores, the teams are great (5star). But so are the teams at other companies too. No longer going to LesSchwab. This has nothing to do with the new CA owners. Makes me sad. read more

Had the best experience today at Les Schwab. I got a flat the night before, like I could barely even move my car. Already stressed financially, I called Les Schwab. They answered 20 minutes before opening and came to me to fill my tire up with Air. They found the issue and fixed my tire, as well as finding another issue and fixed that. I had a flat tire today. I called Les Schwab and was told it would cost $48 to have someone come over and put on the spare. He instead pumped up the flat so I could drive the short distance to their 18th and Oak shop. At the shop a guy repaired the tire (valve stem leak), checked all the other tires, found a screw embedded in another tire and fixed that tire too, no charge. I love Les Schwab!!! read more

Had another great experience here. Bought my tires here a few months ago. They let me know I would be needing new breaks soon. So went in today to get them done. Ted who had helped us earlier in the week on the inspection of my wife's car was the one doing the work. We were having both vehicles done at the same time. Ted called a an hour or two after we dropped off the cars to let me know I needed new rotors as well. He quoted me for the two I needed and said he will see if he could find cheaper. When I went to pick up my truck it turns out he was able to find the 50% cheaper. Thanks Ted for looking out for your customers. Everyone I encountered at this store was super friendly and helpful. I want to say something good, but ? I went here and was told my credit wasn't good enough for a $1400.00 bill, even though it's a 790 score. Then they told me it was because of a fraud detection called life lock on my credit, and they wanted me to remove it. I just paid with my discover card. I went down the street and received credit through Goodyear. Three company trucks needed tires. Bad mistake on their part. In the immortal words of pretty woman, bad bad mistake. But maybe it explains why out of 17 bays they only had one customer. They even sell old tires that are turning white, you wouldn't think they would be this anal. But discount tire, and Goodyear like two doors down each had ten bays filled. I guess when the bought David early tires they've gone down hill. But at least they lost over three grand today. I have been a loyal Les Schwab customer for 18 years. I always knew I paid a lot more but the customer service was worth it to me. The last couple years I have seen a huge decrease in any sort of customer satisfaction. I had a nail and a screw in one tire so I went in. Even when they said I was next it was close to an hour wait. I asked if they could please check all the tires for nails, they said okay. When done I asked if he checked all the tires he said no but he could. Yup, he looked at them while the car was on the ground, didn't even ask me to back up, so really did nothing that I couldn't have done. Then when I got home I saw the valve stem cap was missing. I called as this was the third time this has happened there. The manager said "You actually don't even need them." First of all, WHAT?? Secondly I would like all the parts that I came in with. I never raised my voice, I never called anyone names, I just told him I was calling to make him aware of this issue as it had happened to me three times in a row. One week later my low tire symbol comes on. I go in and the manager says "You are not welcome here anymore, we don't want your business." The fact that he would not even look at or repair something that his shop most likely caused a week earlier is despicable, and he sent me on my way on a Saturday at 3:00 with a leaking tire. That is not my idea of great customer service. After reading all the reviews this seems to be another company that has enough business that if it goes well great, if not then they don't care. read more

BEWARE. My daughter blew a tire across the street from this place. She told them it made a loud noise and the whole car shook. When they finally got around to taking the car in, they told her a rear strut went out, and it would cost 600 dollars to replace. I told her not to sign up, and to take it to her regular, excellent mechanic ASAP. Her mechanic told her there was no blown strut, all struts showed wear but were good for at least another 10,000 miles, and that in any case one should never replace one strut, or it would produce an uneven ride. She asked how much it would cost to replace them when the time came, and they estimated around 1000 dollars for FOUR new struts and labor. I am beyond disgusted at their attempted rip-off. read more

This place has sold me 3 defective used tires and not taken responsibility. Within one week of buying two used tires from them both went flat. The first one they replaced with another used (since it happened that same day...). The second one was after driving to/from PDX and they stated they don't cover wear and tear of used tires (since I had driven over 100 miles) and it was my fault (for probably scraping the sides). They had no more used ones, so I had to buy a new one to replace it. The other used tire went flat after a few months. I was told these tires would last years, I was 3 for 3 flats from their defective used tires. One is probably bad luck, Two could be a bad coincidence, but 3 for 3 is no bueno. I've gone years without tire problems. Gotten multiple flats from their defective tires in a very short period of time and the blame being pointed at me. I hope they enjoyed the extra $100 they got off me, as they're going to lose thousands over a lifetime of potential business. Good riddance. read more

I'd never been to this les schwab and had never been with this car and they got my car on the lift right away (this was all less than an hour before they closed!) found the problem (nail) and had it patched and fixed in no time! The staff is always friendly, knowledgable, and I've gotten the impression that I get a good value. Just what I need, no pressure to up sell. I love Les Schwab in general, but the one on West 11th is much better as far as friendliness and service than the one on 18th. The guys on 18th made me feel like an idiot regardless of the fact that I know a lot more about my car than most women do and they told me I needed 4 new breaks when I only needed 2. I happily had my 2 breaks replaced at another Les Schwab so I'm not knocking the company, just this one location. I'd say head west young man. read more

I came to Les Schwab needing to fix a wheel bearing on my driverside. The service was quick and courteous when I came in and they promptly started work on my car. After a period of time one of the mechanics named Ricardo came in and told me he had some bad news. We walked out to my car and he showed me that the part that I was quoted for wasn't correct for the type of VW I had and that the actual part would end up costing much more. He walked me through their discovery process of this realization (an honest mistake) and gave me the new quote. It was more than I expected but extremely reasonable. Ricardo was friendly, patient and understanding as I asked more clarifying questions while doing quick budget calculations in my head. We would go for it, either replace the part now or replace the damage of letting my tire continue to wobble you know? Anyway, I head back into the common area to continue doing homework while I waited. After half an hour Ricardo came back in and sat across from me. "Good news!" He had found a more reasonably priced part that worked for my model and met the price on their original quote. They just needed my decision to go ahead with the installation. Ricardo shook my hand and went back out to the garage. When it was all said and done, my charge came below what was quoted to me when I called and my car was all ready to go in less time than anticipated. Les Schwab has always treated me well in the past with minor fixes and purchases but this experience has definitely won me over to call them first the next time I require a larger repair. And I would like to give a shout out to Ricardo who went above and beyond with friendly customer service and helping me find a better deal for my wheel bearing! read more

Replaced tires and my battery. When I get home I check under the hood and the battery terminal dust cover which I had looked at just 4 days earlier was missing. I call back thinking they just forgot to put it back on to be put on hold while the mechanic that worked on my car goes to look in the bay. When he comes back he says he didn't see one on there in the first place. I don't like when people lose my parts and then don't take responsibility for it. I went to get my flat tire (purchased at a Seattle Les Schwab) replaced at this les schwab and they complained endlessly about replacing it. Finally they did... and charged me $40 for something. Then a year or so later when I went to get all new tires at Costco (Buy there instead!) the costco installation crew found out that Les Schwab on 18th had put on the wrong size tire causing my alignment to get completely messed up and potentially causing thousands of dollars in damage. Since I initially didn't know which LS put on the bad tire, I went to the Seattle LS and they refused to help me or reimburse me anything. It would be ok if they made a mistake and apologized but since they jerked me around and talked to me like I was a moron, I'm writing this bad review. That's my Les Schwab story. We have been doing business with Les Schwab for over 30 years and couldn't be happier. Just had some work done on my diesel pick up at another garage and was told I had a front bearing going bad. I took it to Schwab and they said the bearing was fine...and the noise we were hearing was a badly worn tire, caused from bad shocks. The other garage would have changed out the bearing (not re-packable) to the tune of over $400 and I would still have needed new shocks. The money I saved on not replacing the bearing...paid for 4 new shocks. read more

They came all the way to my parking garage, jumped my car, helped me get to the store and had a new battery in within the hour after testing it and confirming it was dead.
