It's either the mechanic did a bad job or they sold me substandard products and compromised the safety of my family. Came back here today to find out that my "brake caliper guide pin" is broken. Few months ago, I had my car serviced in this location to replace my breaks, calipers and all the additional things they told me I should replace in my car and paid almost $1,400 for this service. Few weeks later, my husband and I started noticing a weird screeching sound. Like as if a metal touching another metal. We went back here yesterday to ask if they could examine it, because we only started hearing the noise after having the car serviced here. We've been told by Andrew, that they did not find anything wrong. However, he mentioned that he could hear the noise we were talking about. So he suggested, for our own peace of mind, to bring back another day so they could take the parts out, lubricate them, to make sure everything is alright. When I came back today, Daniel, another mechanic, told me there is nothing wrong with the vehicle, and there is no point of taking the parts out because everything looks fine. He also said the noise we heard is perfectly normal. I had to insist for them to check it. Kinda felt like he did not want to do it, and wanted me to leave... You don't have to be a mechanic to recognize that something sounds wrong. After they finally agreed to inspect my car. They told me there was actually something wrong and apparently "caliper guide pin is broken". Saddest part that instead of taking responsibility, they blamed it on the product. Nobody apologized for the bad service. Their bad service or product compromised the safety of my family. There were 3 different mechanics that looked at my car. All of them told me everything is okay. Had I listened to them, I would've walked away and drove a car with faulty breaks. read more

We recently experienced a tire emergency when a tire blew out on the trailer my husband was towing -- in the middle of a highway construction zone on I-5 in the height of Friday rush hour traffic -- and he did not have a spare with him. Luckily, we have extra wheels at home and I was able to grab one and run over to Les Schwab in Galt. Samantha greeted me as soon as I walked in the door, I explained my urgent need, gave her the tire size I needed, and luckily they had one in stock. Before she could even ring it up, they had grabbed the wheel out of my car and were mounting the tire. I was in and out in under 10 minutes. Set an appointment for 11am on 4/8/22 and dropped off my car for an alignment, balance and rotation. Car was not ready until 5:30pm. I had to call twice for an update on my vehicle, as there were no courtesy calls for the delay. I was not in a rush but I would like my vehicle in a timely manner and not shuffled around in order. Especially when an appointment was made and nearly 7 hours were needed to perform a 2 hr job? No apologies for the delay were made at time of pickup but I was assured of the 30 day alignment warranty. Which I'll need as the steering wheel is not centered and the car drifts left. This is worse than when I brought the car in. I'll make another appointment and we'll see how it goes this time around. read more

A few weeks ago I called to see how much they'd charge for an alignment, the man told me about $350. I ended up calling the dealer and a few other Les Schwabs and they told me that pricing was very incorrect and it was less than $150. The excuse the man gave was that I have a BUNCH of new sensors on a 2022. I wonder if he did it because I'm obviously a woman and wanted to take advantage or because he doesn't know the pricing. read more

If I could give more stars I would. I was in the process of moving from galt to a few hours away. After spending all day packing up a Uhaul, we noticed our Uhaul tire was flat. Panicking, we drove to this Les Schwab location. We came in frantically and they were reassuring, and quick to offer help. Not long after they took a look at it, they came out and told us it was all fixed and it would be at no charge. They literally saved the day for us. I couldn't recommend this place more. Coming home from a family vacation while pulling our Travel Trailer and had a tire blow on the trailer. Lucky for us we were right at the Exit for Central Galt and this Tire Center was only 0.6mi away. I was able to limp our way to Les Schwab and was immediately helped in the store and told my size trailer tires were in stock. Our saleswoman did a complete inspection on all 4 tires and told me that in addition to the one that Blew two more of my tires were failing. I pulled my Trailer under the giant canopy out back and a little over an hour later all 4 new tires installed on my Trailer. (Bonus there was a Flea Market happening about 0.25mi up the block from this location) We were back on the road safe and sound 90 mins or less after we showed up unannounced. Worst experience I've had here at les schwabs in galt California. I brought in my vehicle for an alignment and there's etc spend over 1000. End up the alignment is still off after being told everything is fine. I make another appointment and as I get here at the shop they end up making me wait three hours just to tell me they won't be able to work on it the day I made the appointment. You're better off taking your hard earned money somewhere else that will actually get the job done right. read more

I would consider 1/5 star rating unfair for Les Schwab Galt, due to the fact that a 1/5 gives the false impression that they are capable of attaining anything above 1 star. Took my car in on Friday due to a tire light coming on, the clueless front counter lady who allowed me to stand there for 5 minutes without helping me was directed by who I am assuming is the assistant manager, explained that "they really can't tell if it's a flat unless they take it off so uh yeah just take it around and they'll check the pressure". My confidence was soaring at this point. The young man working the bay, who did his best out of everyone checked all of my tires said one was low and he filled it up. I asked him what to do next, he said "if you have any problems just come back wellw take care of it." I'm assuming that a low tire isn't considered a problem at Galt LS. I figured it was just low, went home as directed and parked the car till Monday morning when I awoke to a completely flat tire. My wife had to take an Uber to work, and I luckily had her truck at my disposal. Manager "Mike Smith" was even less helpful when I spoke to him today. He explained that they get too many requests, and usually won't check for a leak unless I request a ticket. And had the audacity to say "you really need to accept some responsibility on your part for not requesting a ticket for a flat." When I expressed my disapproval of this answer, and requested his full name and managers name I was laughed at and told "ok buddy" before being hung up on. I've honestly never seen such a complete lack of professionalism and customer service. I've been a faithful. Les Schwab tire center customer for years and have always felt that the free flat fix has been a cornerstone of the lesson Schwab sales pitch. I olqn to never take my business to ANY Les Schwab tire center for Life due to this. Currently waiting to hear back from the corporate office in Bend Oregon to see if they can set things right. read more

They helped me pick the absolute best lift, tire and wheel to perfectly accent my brand new truck. I can be pretty hard to work with at times because of how particular I am but Mike and his team never made me feel like I was putting them out or wasting their time. They even put extra guys on my job and stayed late to finish my truck a day early so I could take it camping. Never trust chains like les Schwab, especially les Schwab they are horrible quality and are crooks that will rip you off. got my car aligned and they couldn't fully align it cuz a bent strut. they were unable to tell me it was because of the strut because they didn't test drive it. So I find out myself what's wrong, fix the strut, bring it back so they can finish the alignment job that THEY gave to me unfinished yet I paid full Price for, and ask if they can finish the alignment job that I already paid full price for since it was still under warranty. but of course they can't because since I replaced the strut (The entire reason they couldn't fully align it) now that broke the warranty and I'd have to pay again full price just for them to finish the alignment job that I already paid full price for. I shouldn't listened to my mechanic that I trust when he told me not to take my car to les Schwab because everyone that works there are not quality mechanics only kids that know how to read a machine that tells them everything and they will try to steal your money at every turn. I I was helping a gentleman and his wife that were in trouble. No money and their small truck had a flat and no spare. The man was trying to take the tire off the rim with a crescent wrench and put a replacement on the rim and was making no progress. I offered to help by taking the rim and tires to this Les Schwab to have the tire dismounted and the replacement mounted and balanced. He took me up on the offer. I explained the circumstances to a very nice young lady (I didn't get her name unfortunately) who helped me with the work. She put in a word with the techs and got me out of there in about 10 minutes. Turns out the replacement tire has a cut sidewall so it couldn't be mounted. I believe the tech's name was Garet, he located a used replacement tire, mounted and balanced it and the total was under $16. Awesome!!! These guys rock! They pulled together what was needed and made it happen!!! These are good people and you can rely on them to go the distance. Thanks you guys. read more

I, myself am a DIY type of guy. Any repair on my vehicle I usually do myself, considering I do many modifications and work at Subaru. I was installing rear sway bars and I did not have any impact/air tools so trying to get off the rear control arm bolt was quite a hassle considering its torqued over 100ftlbs. I called up Les Schwab and spoke to Garrett(hopefully correct spelling). I explained how I needed only the bolt to be broken free so i can use my ratchet to take care of it, after checking his shop he said that he is pretty busy and alot of the bays are being used but he would try to get me in. So, 30 minutes later I arrive, he's running around the shop. Now, I work basically besides a shop at work and I know how busy it can be. I got a hold of him and asked him if I should probably come back considering how busy it was. ( I heard the receptionist mention the delay to other customers around 1-2hrs! It was a Monday!) He said, no no worries and to pull it around. So I did, i pulled it around and he lifted the car up in the 96 degree weather and loosened the bolts AND put the rear sway bar supports on! Oh, and ABSOLUTELY FREE. What a guy! I don't know if hes a manager or what but he definitely understands customer service and what to do to take care of a potential customer, again I am a DIY guy and I can honestly say I will be returning for any tire needs I have since they are only under 5 minutes away from me!
