What a disappointment. I remember when this company would go out of its way for customers--now it feels like the mindset has shifted to, "what can we get away with today?" A couple of weeks ago, I stopped in to ask about installing a 2.5" leveling kit on my truck. A young employee came up front and offered to help. I explained what I was looking for, and after a quick look at the truck, he casually said, "Yeah, that'll be $299." My wife was pleasantly surprised since I had expected something closer to $400-$450 and even commented on how inexpensive it sounded. That's when things took a turn. The employee suddenly got excited and said, "Oh, no--you misunderstood. That's just for the kit. The full install will be $899." That's an absurd price for a 2.5" leveling kit installation. Even worse than the inflated cost was the way the pricing seemed to shift based on our reaction. That's not how you build trust. To make matters worse, the exact same kit was available at reputable tire shops for just under $400 installed. I've purchased multiple sets of tires here over the years and trusted them with plenty of work--but after this experience, I won't be returning. If you're looking for tires, alignments, or suspension work, I'd strongly recommend going with a company that values transparency and treats its customers with honesty read more

I made an appointment online (which was extremely convenient) to fix a slow leak in my tire. When I checked in they didn't make any mention of how long it would take. I waited an HOUR before they even pulled my car into a bay. I get tire shops are busy and waits can be expected, but if I make an appointment, waiting an hour before even getting service is a bit frustrating. If the wait is expected to be over an hour, they should let customers know. Once in the bay, it took less than 15 minutes to fix the leak. I guess the only positive to my visit is that I wasn't charged for them to fix it. read more

First time at Les Schwab in Kuna today. just needed one wheel rebalanced because the weight had come off the wheel. I confirmed what I needed done with the young woman at the counter and before they started a tech came out and reconfirmed that all I needed was one wheel rebalanced. A short time later I noticed that all four wheels were off and a second tech came out and asked which tire had a slow leak. I told him none of my tires had a leak and why were all the wheels off my vehicle? His response was that was what was on the work order so they were rebalancing all the wheels. I asked the woman who had taken the order and she admitted she had made a mistake. The problem arose when they tried to charge me for rebalancing four tires when it was clear from the beginning that I only needed one done. They finally consented and only charged me for one rebalance and didn't use just the stick on weights that I had asked for. Needless to say I won't be back. read more

I wanted to have tires chains for my truck just in case. I have large tires and checked the Auto Zone just down the street from Les Schwab. Auto Zone did not carry the size I needed, but they suggested that I check with Les Schwab. Auto Zone also told me that Les Schwab would return the tires chains at full cost if the tire chains weren't used. Les Schwab carries 2 different types of tire chains. Just 1 of the 2 types is eligible for return if not used. Luckily for me, the type of chains that would fit my truck are the type that are returnable. But, they didn't have the chains in stock at this store. I was leaving later in the day and needed the chains! They offered to send a person to the warehouse and get the chains within an hour! An hour later I had my chains! Way to go the extra mile for the customer! Based on this single experience I won't hesitate to go to Les Schwab. They did set my expectations high! This past Saturday I woke up to what everyone hates and that's a flat tire...good for me is there is this Les Schwab location less than 1 mile from my house. So with some air pumped back in the tire I headed over right before they opened. Walked in and immediately greeted by the super friendly young lady at the desk. Asked me what was going on and I explained about my flat tire issue. She politely asked for me to have a seat and someone would be right with me, but in the meantime to enjoy complimentary snacks, coffee and fresh popped popcorn. I remember when my kids where little they never minded hanging out a Les Schwab as long as that fresh popcorn was available. A short wait and one of their techs confirmed with me the issue and said he wound be right back. He can back and confirmed their was a mail in the tire and it also penetrated the sidewall. As you know that's the end of the tire. He let me know the tire would be around $350 to replace and I asked him about since I bought the tires from Les Schwab a year ago in California could he at least pro rate the tire. After a few minutes of investigation he came back and said this tire is on us. Wow! That's exactly why I love buying my tires and anything else they do at Les Schwab is because no matter where I have lived...Washington, Nevada, California and now Idaho they stand behind their products hassle free. I have been a loyal customer for over 30 years and it all started in Everett, Washington...I was a flat broke 20 yr old kid and I just moved to the area. When I woke up to the same situation. I drove it over with barely enough change in my pocket for a few days and explained my situation. The employee and I wished I could remember his name politely said " we got you and no problem. This one's is on us and the next time you are in the market for some tires just think of us" That was it and now 39 years later still and will always be a loyal customer. read more

Came in without an appt ran over something tire immediately started to go flat, made it in time. Sales person recommended replacing the tire, side wall split plus replacing the other tire next it (back tires) I agreed as it turns out the other tire had a problem too, which I had know idea the sales person showed me, sure enough wasn't safe to drive it was split on the side wall too. They even had to go to the other les store to get my tires so took a little longer all in all was great service. Would recommend if ever in the Kuna area:) read more

I can't believe this location has hardly no reviews! The service here is always great. The prices are steep and a little outrageous, but we've been using the same company out of state, so despite that, we love everything else about the company. The free popcorn, the quality service, the professional customer care, the convenient waiting with free coffee and, of course, free WiFi. It seems like the occasional tire disposal or valve stem replacement is always done so quickly and sometimes without any charge to the customer. I have bought many tires over the years from Les Schwab. Recently purchased new tires and was charged for TPMS sensors. Everything I have read online says they are good for 5-10 years or 100k miles. My car is 2 years old with 25k miles and the sensors were working perfectly. read more

Let me tell you how Les Schwab ruined my brakes. I went in and got a full set of tires, which was fine for a few weeks, then my front brakes started pulsating. It got progressively worse, so I had my dad take the car back to Les Schwab to have them look at it (I was sick at the time, which is why I didn't take it in myself). They started by saying that they had cross threaded two studs when they installed the tires, but they would replace them. Then they said that the rotor was warped and that's why it was pulsating. Dad asked if it was the same tire that they cross threaded the studs on, and the guy refused to answer. Dad took the car to our mechanic to take a look at it. The cross threaded studs BROKE OFF IN HIS HAND when he went to remove them, so that's a big screw up on Les Schwab's part. Then he said the warping on the rotor was likely caused by the the cross threaded and over-torqued lugs. Those front brakes only had about 1500 miles on them, so they hadn't been used much. Took the car back to Les Schwab and they insisted that it's not possible for cross threaded and over-torqued lugs to cause warping of the rotor (I looked it up: it's possible). He said they would replace the studs that broke, but would not take responsibility for the rotor. They quoted me about $300 to replace the front pair. I'm not paying them to ruin my stuff. So, unless you like having people put you in danger by ruining your studs to the point that they break off, then causing you hundreds of dollars of damage to the adjacent car parts, then try to charge you to pay for THEIR mistakes, then DO NOT do business with these people. We have been customers of Lew Schwabs for well over 30 years. 5 Years ago, I would not even consider going anywhere else. However, over the past few years, all they seem to care about is selling you new tires, aligments, brakes or other mechanical issues. This last time went in for a nail repair. I was told; my tires were serperating; I needed all four tires and the usual alignment. They handed me a quote & did not even fix the tire. Went to Commercial tire, wow great service, fixed the tire and did not even try to sale us anything. They did let us know that our tires, were fine, there was no seperation issues. Insummary before allowing Les Schwabs to perform all the work they deem necessary based on their quote go get a second opinion. read more

I went in to have my tires rotated and was told they weren't going to be able to do that because of a bad tire. They offered no solution to the problem not even a sale. I was so frustrated as the associate handed my keys back to me I just told him ok thank you! I don't know if he was new or just didnt want to help me. Had a slow leak in one of my tires so I drove over to this Les Schwab to get it checked and patched. Not only was it fixed in less than an hour but they didn't charge me a thing for it! Told me it was a faulty valve, replaced it and sent me on my way. Little did they know how much such a small gesture of kindness would mean to me. Excellent service and kind people. read more

The one good thing I will say is that they do work quickly and I didn't have to wait long for a Saturday. Here are the bad things: I had my studded tires swapped in and they put my regular tires in the back of my car without any bags, leaving dirt and snow all over the place, they also gave me back my rubber covered key back extremely filthy, and finally a $15 balancing charge on my bill that when I questioned it they said "Oh, we assumed you knew that had to be done" I will be taking my business elsewhere next time. read more

The guy that helped my wife was rude. And pretty much told her she was dumb that there was no nail in her and we saw it in the tire and then next day we take it another store and they fix in find it in less the 25 mins. Word of warning.....DO NOT GO TO LES SCHWAB!!! I took my car in to have the alignment checked. They told me I needed new tie rods. I took it to another garage to have the work done at a less expensive rate and they told me nothing was wrong with the tie rods, that it was the rack that need to be replaced. I took it back to les schwab and told them they needed to relook at the problem. They agreed and I decided to let them fix it since they could get the work done the same day. When I dropped my car off nothing else was wrong with my car. The driver side window worked perfectly. When I picked up the car and drove away, I tried to put up the window and it did not budge. I turned around and went back to the shop, and they said it looked like it came off the track, but all they did while they had the car was put the windows down and it was not their fault that it was now broken. They did say they would fix it but would have to charge me for the service.What happened to good customer service? They broke the power window, but wont fix it? What the hell? I know I will never go back and will tell everyone I know in the Kuna area to avoid taking their cars there. Word of mouth in a small town......too bad I don't have anything good to say about them and it cost me over $600 to find out that customers are not valued. They said it was because it probably came off the track....well we took the door apart to see what was going on, it was on track, but the cables and the motor were broken. Basically, someone had put the window partially down leaned in to take the keys or something and while leaning on the window, broke the motor that winds the cables. This store manager kept telling me about how so many people tried to get one up on them and blame them for things. I felt he was calling me a thief. He wanted me to watch all the video of my car while it was there. I did watch some, but my car was not on camera the whole time and I believe in culpability. They were responsible for my car while it was in their keeping, apparently they did not care if they damaged a car. I called their corporate office in Bend Or. The district manager listened to my complaint and said he would talk with Kenny (the manager in Kuna) and asked if he could reach me at the number I gave him, I said "Of course, I look forward to hearing from you and resolving this situation." I never heard back from the corporate office again. They claim that they are all about customer service.....that they could not have gotten as far with out great customer service. That may have been the case in the past, but no more. THEY MAKE IT NOW BY PADDING THEIR BILL, DOING UNNECESSARY WORK AND BREAKING OTHER PARTS IN THE HOPES TO GET THAT FIX WORK TOO. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS CROOKED TIRE DEALER!! I travel a lot, and not always at one place long enough to wait for tire installation, especially if I have to wait for tires to be ordered before install. I picked up some trailer tires at a different store out of town (50 miles east of Boise) but didn't have time to wait for install, so took them cash and carry, and called ahead while I was driving to Les Schwab in Kuna (near my home) to have them installed on my trailer. The individual on the phone was very accommodating and said to bring the trailer in. I took the trailer in the following day and the gentleman at the counter asked if the tires I wanted installed were used or new. When I said New, he asked where I bought them. After I told him, he was certainly less accommodating and said, "....you're probably not going to like this, but there's a $200 fee to mount tires that were not purchased here.". I just turned around and walked out. Here's the scenario to describe how stupid this policy is......This tire store owner and his family are driving through Missouri on vacation and their car breaks down. They take it to the local dealer, where the dealer states, "sure, we can fix your car, but first, where did you buy it?" The tire store owner says, "I bought it in Idaho". The dealer then states, "ok, no problem....our normal shop rate is $75/hr, but since you didn't buy the car from us, the shop rate for you will be $150/hr." This policy is not only stupid, it reeks of this store owner simply not wanting business. I have not been a previous Les Schwab customer, and this solidifies why. I have never had any sort of good experience at at ANY Les Schwab tire store, and will never do business at any of their stores. read more
