This place is the exact opposite of what Les Schwab stands for as a company. I've used Les Schwab for over 20 years and never had a situation arise anywhere close to what happened tonight. Les Schwab ownership needs to audit this location. So we brought our pickup in to swap the two tires on the front to two that we already had. They quoted a price and I paid it. While we were waiting we chose to walk to Walgreens. On the way to Walgreens we got a call saying the swap was going to be more than we were quoted. I told them I'll pay it. One of our tires was about ready to blow it was so bald, so it was necessary. A little while later we got another call saying they can't get our rims off because they don't have a key for those rims. Weird, but ok. I told her we'd be right back to find them the lug nut key. The gal got very rude and basically said they won't do it because they're closing soon. I told her that's fine, we'll take it up the road to a different tire shop and we'll be right there to pick it up. She said, ok see you when you get here. We walked back up to the shop and entered the parking lot right at 6pm to see the pickup parked in the back of the lot. We had our 1 year old son and 9 year old daughter with us so I went to the truck to wait for my husband to get the keys so we could go. The truck was UNLOCKED so, thinking maybe they just left the keys in it, we searched for them with no success. By this time it was 6:04 and most of the employees were leaving and the front door was locked. My husband asked an employee if he would grab us the keys to our truck so we could leave. The employee tried and came back out saying he was told we have to come back tomorrow to get our vehicle! After some back and forth and explaining we have a toddler and a child with us, nobody would do anything. So we were left with no choice but to call the law to retrieve the truck keys from inside the establishment. (Shout out to Newport PD ) The very arrogant front desk gal begrudgingly let us have our keys once the police showed up. Her comments were rude and asinine (asking the police sergeant to "watch her and keep her away from the money" like I was trying to rob her lol) and then trying to say they were closed before I ever brought my truck in that day (definitely not) ... with a crazy attitude. The whole encounter absolutely blows my mind. This is not how you run a business especially under a name like Les Schwab. Do better. read more

I had a tire blowout and had my car towed to this location on Monday. I was told that they didn't have the tire so I would have to wait until Friday. On Friday afternoon, I went to pick up my car and it was covered with sap. I really angry as I had had the car detailed two months ago including wax. When I asked the employee he said, "yeah that's from the trees, it happens to my truck, too". The manager's response was, "I can't control nature". When I answered that he could have parked it away from the trees he had no answer. I also told him that I had pressure washed the car and the stains were still there and that I would hold the store responsible for repairing the finish.This lack of customer service is astounding and I won't be back. Two and a half hours for a tire change. Quoted at 45 minutes. My car sat in their garage for most of the time. The employees neglected it and talked with each other instead. Ken the Manager was not very sympathetic regarding faulty workmanship done when I purchased 4 new tires. The day I bought them, within a couple of hours one of the tires had lost air. Had to go back and get it fixed. The valve stem was leaking and they replaced it, or as Ken stated, the TPMs rebuild kit. We went to drive to Olympia and got stuck in Kalama for the same issue, but different tire. Les Schwab was closed, had to change my tire to the donut which we all know driving 80 miles on a donut and the freeway that is 70mph is unsafe especially when you can't drive that fast. So needless to say, had to get a hotel room to go to the Les Schwab in Woodland, Wa., and had lost a day a pay. They took me in right away the following morning, the tech told me all 3 tires had the wrong size stem rebuild kit. They did not trust the rebuild on the first repair and kindly did all of them for me. I have not had an issue since. I asked Ken if I could at least get a reimbursement of the hotel due to the faulty workmanship and he said no. I spent roughly $1500 on new tires and asking for a refund for the hotel should be easy to do. Plus he kept arguing with me. I stated I would call the Woodland store to let him know that they done a bad job. Because he did not believe me. He told me that could drive that way no problem with the donut. The Woodland store confirmed that no, that would have been a bad thing to do, which I knew. So basically, this manager does not follow the company's safety and customer satisfaction promise that they advertise. I highly recommend you do not go to this location. I requested my ABS sensors replaced. They performed a diagnostic free of charge, agreed, gave me a quote and I scheduled the work. They did half the job, left the old parts on my vehicle and when confronted at pickup informed me they had only quoted half the job. This was not my request nor was it my understanding. The one part they DID replace has exposed wires. Now instead of an occasional ABS alarm, it's on full-time and in addition, my cruise control no longer works. Heed the reputation of this shop. These folks are incompetent, and it's about as productive as talking to a brick wall to speak with any of them. Tires? Solid maybe, I had the same flat repaired here 4 times; took it to another shop that actually fixed it, and it was worth the charge at an actual repair shop vs the free tire repair. read more

I was stranded with a flat tire at a local campground. Although I called early in the morning and was guaranteed that they would have my issue resolved that day, it was not, as result, I had to incur an addtional $200.00 in charges to leave my vehicle at the campground and arraigned transportation to and from at a later date. Additionally, I was quoted a charge of $140.00 but was then charged $280.00. Avoid this store, and if possible, travel to Toledo or Lincoln City. read more

I noticed I had a gash in my left front tire inner sidewall, see picture. I took it in to Les Schwab in Newport, OR. I pulled up and a man came out as usual. I told him I had a gash on the inner wall of my tire. He looked and said "there sure is, take it inside, tell the front desk you want a tire inspection and tell them a out the gash. I did just that, and soon they had my car in the shop. I watched them at work. Soon I saw them inflating all four tires. Hmm I wondered why they'd put air into the damaged tire. They pulled the car up front and told me the air was a bit low, there's some tread wear on outer edges of front tires but they have good tread and I'm good to go! I said "what about the gash?" He says "what gash?" I told him about it abs he said they pull the car back in to take a look. In the meantime I attempted to speak to the manager about their "tire inspection process". I explained the whole thing but he seemed very disinterested. No eye contact, didn't take his eyes off his computer. I said "I just thought you should know, I mean I requested a tire inspection and they didn't see the gash. I offered to show him a picture of it but he wouldn't look at it. I said since you are the manager I thought you should know, be cause you are responsible. He said, no I'm not responsible, the person who inspected the tires is responsible, I'll have them come talk to you". I told him I don't need someone to come talk to me I just thought you should know. The guy came and talked to me. I told him I'm not harmed in any way because I knew about the gash. But if I hadn't known and you told me my tires were fine I could head out on a long trip and have a blowout. I questioned their inspection. I asked if they even looked at the inner sidewall. He said usually they don't have any issues with the sidewall. I was flabergasted!!! I got four new tires put on. The TPS light was on and they told me it would go out after a bit of driving. The TPS light did not go out. I drove about 60 miles and noticed the right rear tire was low. I had it checked and it had only 11 lbs. They put 36 psi in there. The TPS light was still on. Two days later the tire was low again so I took it to les schwab. They said I must have hit a nail. The pumped to 36 psi. I had them check all the NEW tires and the left rear was low only 26 psi. I had them put 36 psi in that one too. Two days later both rear tires were low, the TPS light was still on. They told me I must have hit a nail. I said "really, both tires new, both tires hit nail?? Ridiculous! They showed little empathy for my situation. I decided they crazy and took my car to Les Schwab in Reedsport. Wow, those guys are amazing. There was no nail but they wound up removing tires from the rim, removing corrosion from the rim and resealing the tire. Perfect! No issues! I don't know what's going on with the newport location..very poor experience. read more

My husband went in to have the hub replaced. They said it wasn't the hub it was something else to the tune of 350 bucks and the car still isn't fixed. The hub still needs replaced but it will be by a place that knows what they are doing. They said it might be the transmission, which was serviced and flushed last year.....or maybe the transfer case making the noise....MY CAR IS FRONT WHEEL DRIVE AND HAS NO TRANSFER CASE!!!. How can it be a part my car doesn't even have. Also, the hub that needs replaced was replaced by this les shwab 4yrs ago. Go somewhere else or go to the Les Shwab in Lincoln City. The "mechanics" here have no clue what they are doing. Thier mistake was trying to pull this crap on a person whos family are all mechanics so I know cars. Deplorable disrespect. I have been a loyal Schwab cust since the 90's, all nine tires on my truck & tvl trailer are Schwab. I picked this location because I was way past my oil chg date & most Schwab's don't offer that service. I scheduled my oil change/tire rotation/brake check 2 wks in advance online, and arrived early on 10/26/24 for my 9am appt. The weather was very overcast with rain forecasted. When I checked in I advised the clerk my dog was with me and asked if he was welcome to come inside. I was told yes, so long as he was leashed and well behaved. When my dog's interest in a tire display had him beginning to lift his leg, I told him no, yanked on his leash, and immediately took him outside for a walk around the building so he could pee. As is my habit, I picked up trash I found on our walk to deposit in a bin when we got back inside. Upon my return I found a peeved clerk wiping up where my dog had been, the clerk tersely telling me that my dog had to remain outside (where it was now steadily drizzling). I was very apologetic and told her I thought I had stopped him in time. A male employee then appeared and rather rudely reiterated that my dog was no longer welcome, about which I told him I had already been informed (I later found out this person was the owner). When I asked where I could deposit the trash before I left (said trash including a plastic milk jug), he snarkly asked why I was bringing it in to them, and when told that it had been collected on their property on our walk as a courtesy to Schwab, I received neither an acknowledgement of the kindness nor a thank you. I appreciate that this Schwab allows dogs inside, but the ejection of me and my dog from inside the store was a serious over-reaction. My dog and I were outside for 45 minutes with no shelter available to us, as the wind picked up and the precipitation increased to a full on rain. By the time my service was completed, my dog and I were both extremely wet and cold. I am 100% certain that if my dog had been a child that had vomited, that my sincere apologies would've been met with "don't worry about it", or "these things happen". I am a 66 year old veteran, treating me this way over a bit of dog urine on the floor was reprehensible. read more

Brought my RV in to have my tires and airbags checked the guy was taking off my rim didn't know how to take off an RV rim and bent it so instead of fixing it he just put tape behind it to try to make it so it wouldn't rattle while we drove down the road so I went inside to get the manager to have him come out and check on it and he laughed in my face and told me to get out of his establishment. read more

$2,012.10! 2,012.10 DOLLARS!! I ended up spending in a matter of 48 hours from starting my business with Les Schwab and almost had a FATALITY and WRECK due to negligence of these professionals and wrong diagnosis of my vehicle, paying for parts and services I didn't need. I planned and currently on a trip from Washington State to Mexico with my 3 underage kids and a friend. Before starting my journey on 3/20/2024 I scheduled an appointment to remove all the air and INSPECT my brakes and new master cylinder to ensure a safe and stress free drive over 1200 miles of road and nasty weather conditions. After getting "air out" and inspection's of brakes a d installation of master cylinder, my brakes were still spongy and all they said was "WE GOT ALL THE AIR OUT OF THE SYSTEM, THE FRONT CALIPERS ARE FAILING DUE TO THE INSIDE OF PADS NOT CONTACTING WITH ROTOS 100%. I read it and looked at the tech that did my brakes, "Jeremy" is his name. He looks at me and starts to push me to buy 1200 or 1400 set of tires because my tires are bad. Never did he advise me driving my car with brakes that don't contact is dangerous and get it replaced. Well I trusted him and the work they did and paid for my cylinder and on my way to Mexico I was. On the way to Oregon I stopped at another Les Schwab (NEWPORT OREGON) to get my brakes inspected and master cylinder since it was part of the warranty, The tech that "INSPECTED" my brakes told me I had 4 different set of tires and they were busy to get me in but filled up my tires. This was the second "brake inspection requested. Along the way I decided to get 4 new tires with discount tires at a great price and service and though they aren't mechanics or certified to inspect the brakes, they saw something was wrong and strongly suggested to see a mechanic asap and do a brake inspection. I took their advice and gut feeling I should. So I did. Upon inspection the brake pads weren't even set on rotors one broke in half, and all 4 brake pads were bent. I was about to loose them on the way and crash with my kids for sure. They said I had an angel looking over us. I don't care how much money I spent I'm glad my car is good now and I'm safe and so are my kids. I just ask for these employees to do their job, use common sense, advocate for customers. I know things get rough and work is busy and lots of customers come in and out but what if this was your son and grandkids on a road trip you would want whoever was looking under the hood to do a good job and ensure the vehicle is safe. I wouldn't have any problem to pay for new brakes again if they were to actually catch it on the first inspection not the third. Future customers advocate for yourself and be specific that they do what you ask and never take their word at value ensure you keep records like i did. Be safe peeps. read more

Been Les Schwab customer for over two decades and to shops across multiple states. First time I've ever been disappointed with their customer service. This visit was for a rotation, alignment, and a single wheel replacement. I was told by Ken that all the work would get done today, including the wheel. Turns out they did the alignment but couldn't replace the wheel because it still hadn't been ordered... This was the third time I was here for this. They had all the time in the world during my first two visits to take any pictures and whatnot that they needed. When questioned, they made excuse on top of excuse and ultimately put the blame on me. I feel I was mislead and lied to. I will happily go to any other Les Schwab, but never here again. read more

Came here to get a tire repaired and they not only didn't patch my tire, they tried to sell me two tires saying that I had two that were showing tread wear and the belted metal in tires was visible. That's funny because I just got them last year! I go and rub my hands on the inside where he said it was worn and showing wiring, I DID NOT FEEL A THING! Bad customer service and that's not normal! Les Schwab has a good reputation with fixing tires, being fast and courteous! I truly hope they don't do this again, TO ANYONE! It's bad enough the world is short staffed, most service related jobs don't care about the service they provide, and it needs to stop!!! Picked up a nail in a nearly new tire on a recent road trip. Was within 20 miles of Newport and managed to make it to Les Schwab before the tire went flat. They removed the nail... sure enough instant flat... and pulled the tire off my vehicle and did a flat repair. I was thrilled to be back on the road within one hour, and they didn't charge me a cent! That was above and beyond... wasn't their tires and I had never been to that store before... would have happily paid for a repair but it was free and the service was top-notch. First of all! I want to thank the corporate office "Scott" he was truly helpful and got on the problem right away! So first I want to say, "Thank you". this is what great customer service is all about, customers still want it and every dollar customers spend of their hard earned dollar is always going to be number 1! Our love one came into the tire center to have tires put on(this was a horrible rainy night unfortunately while traveling). After leaving the center, thirty miles down the road its still raining, its dark and then one of the new tires went flat(because the valve stem was defective) Our love one also found that the center had not checked the windshield wipers(they needed to be replaced) the brakes were not checked out either being this should have been part of their courtesy free inspection. Our loved one paid to have her vehicle towed back 30 miles to the tire center and to be treated with such careless and disrespect was just wrong, saying that it was not their problem!!!! The tire centers are to make sure the best they can to always give that free courtesy check and when tires are put on, they should also be checking the brakes while the vehicle is up on rack! To just send you off into the rainy night is deplorable and could have been a disastrous situation, it was already a bad situation. If the center had done their job properly and checked the wipers and brakes their would been no problem. I see from others on yelp, this tire center in the past has had problems with one or more of the staff, this must be looked into before a customer is seriously injured because of a "Careless Attitude"!!! read more

Yesterday afternoon I went into the store to have a tire taken off of a rusted damaged rim. I was quickly greeted by Tanner just as I got out of my car. He quickly took my tire into the service bay and said that he would have in done very quickly. I then went inside to pay for this for this service. I was then surprised when Tyler told me that there would be no charge. By the time I had walked back to my truck Tanner had already put the tire in the back of the truck. I was met at my car, they took it right into the bay. 20min later I was handed my keys and was told everything looked good, tire repaired and pressure was good. Did not cost me a dime! The first time I went in to our Newport store, there was a gentleman (dark hair, glasses, late 40's-50's) who was behind the counter. I was there for a lift and tires for my Jeep. He was NOT friendly, barely helpful. I left with a disgusted feeling and was not going to get my lift and tires from them. A couple weeks later, I went back to check on a different lift. There was a super nice, helpful man this time...bald, younger, tall. He was so helpful that I ended up ordering the lift and tires. That afternoon, they called back with an installation appt. I took it in yesterday and who was there.....Mr. Personality. Agh. Again, NOT friendly, barely said anything. I did not have a good feeling about this. On my way out, I ran into one of the work man who was admiring my Jeep. I asked him to look after her for me. Six hours later, I called for an update. Mr. Personality answered the phone. Again...not friendly, not helpful, barely said two words. I told my husband...they have another 1 1/2 hours and we are going to see what's going on....and we did. I saw my Jeep up on the lift. Another workman came out and I asked him how the Jeep was doing. He was super sweet, friendly, helpful. I'm very glad it was him that checked me out. So, all because of the one person, I almost went elsewhere. I don't know if he just doesn't like dealing with women, but he'd better get used to it. I dropped several thousands of dollars there. I belong to an all women Jeep group. We are over 13,000 members and growing. That's a lot of lifts and tires to be missing out on. In the end, the work was done well. My Jeep looks great. I was going to give 3 stars because of Mr. Personality, but the other employees made up an additional star. read more

I brought in a wheel to have a new tire on installed. I provided the new tire. They punished me for not buying the tire from them and charged me 51.00 to mount and balance one tire. Store manager was very rude and flat told me I should have bought from them. They wanted 330 dollars for a tire I paid 239 for elsewhere. Unless you buy from them you will b punished. After shopping online and local retailers and a local reseller, my choice was Les Schwab Tires. They have what they call a 30k mile "Entry Level" All-Season tire that cost 1/3 less than their best 50k mile tire. I bought a set of four. My friend and her son purchased a used camper van. They were on a road trip to Washington. She took the van to be serviced and inspected. They changed the tires and sent them on their way. They put a wrong nut on the valve stem which caused the tire to go flat. They ended up getting that fixed but once they were on the road they noticed something else was wrong. Come to find out the rotors were frozen and the e brake was seized. I feel that they should have done a way better job when it comes to their inspections. This could have cost them their lives especially in the bad weather. The owner their would not take responsibility for his work. Beware using their services. read more

Stay far, far away! I've been going to Les Schwab for years, and this was by far the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Waited two weeks to get an appointment for new tires and an alignment. In that time one of my tires went flat and we had to put a spare on. We called to see if Les Schwab could put the new tires on early and just wait the few extra days to do the alignment and was told it would be $135 an hour and would take about two hours to change the tires (in a parking lot about two miles from the shop). We decided to keep our existing appointment and just put a spare on. At the appointment, the tech came out and asked for the key to the locking lug nuts, I explained the the dealer had not provided one and we had had to use a socket to get the one off to put a spare on, and could he please replace the other three with standard lug nuts when he changed the tires. I was told yes, but it would be $70 to do so, which I agreed to. After almost two hours (and everyone who had come in before and after me having already been helped and gone) they came out and said I was done. I paid $576, and he explained the warranty, telling me twice that if there was any kind of pulling or if things felt unbalanced to come back in and they would fix it, since the alignment was under full warranty. When I got back to work I happened to glance at the front drivers tire and saw that they had replaced the lug nut with a regular bolt nut. All the other tires had five lug nuts, but the drivers side had four lug nuts and a bolt nut. I pulled out my paperwork to see if they had indeed charged me the $70 lug nut fee and saw that they had, but below it it said that "Alignment was good. No need to move anything." They had charged me $110, and explained a warranty for work that was not done. All four tires showed significant uneven wear, the car did (still does) pull to the right anytime I let go of the steering wheel, but they claimed the alignment was "good". When I called the shop to ask about it the assistant manager was very rude, and told me "If you have a problem with what we did come down". When I did take the time to drive the half hour back he said that the tech forgot to update the bill, but the alignment was fine. I said the tires had significant uneven wear and the car still pulled to the right, and he said he could have the tech look at it again, but that there was nothing on the tires that showed it needed an alignment. When I asked to take pictures of the tires before he disposed of them he got even more rude. When I asked for a corporate or district number he refused saying they don't give out that information. When I asked for a manager he said he was the assistant manager, I again asked for a manager and he said he was at lunch and walked away from me. read more

My wife brought our van in for a brake and shock inspection and they informed her both the brakes and shocks were fine. No upsells; more importantly, they were friendly and treated her well. There are a lot of mechanic shops she is not comfortable going into because they ask her a bunch of questions she can't answer and she always feels pressured into agreeing to work she's not sure the car needs. Les Schwab in Newport will be our first choice for any service they offer! read more

From all the other Les Schwab I've been to where the person came out to your vehicle and greeted you. At this one, they barely noticed you were even there. I waited in line, which I was the only person in the line for 10 minutes before somebody noticed me. I had a tire. I need it fixed. It was detached from the vehicle I brought it in. They told me to take it out of my truck wheel it up there and leaned it up against the wall. when they were finished, they put it up against the wall. I will never go there again. read more

I had a nail in my tire here in Yachats and I called ahead to be sure they weren't busy. My husband took my car in for me and said everyone was really friendly, helpful and expedient. I was on a business trip and was suddenly unable to open my trunk (or open it from the backseat) Not knowing what to do, I pulled into LSTC and asked the technicians for help. Michael came to the rescue and wouldn't give up after 10 minutes of it not budging. Finally he managed to get the seat down, and I was able to get all my items from my trunk! Interesting story and I wish more businesses did this. I was taking my Jeep in to get shocks. A jeep guru friend told me to get a Rancho shock with a nine way adjustment which would smooth out my ride so that is what I ordered. I go to Les Schwab in Newport who did my lift and tires. I walk in to the store this morning getting ready to drop Dory off for the morning. He sees me walking with my cane and my back brace and he looks at my jeep and he asks me why I'm replacing the shocks. I said because I am quite ill and I now have spine issues and I'm trying to smooth out the ride. I told him I lowered my tire pressure to 30 psi, and that has helped tremendously and I was hoping the shocks would add to that. He said the shocks would make the ride stiffer than the OEM shocks. Oh oh.....Not what I expected. He explained why they won't help and explained ALL the different shocks that were made for my Jeep and why they will all make my ride stiffer. He also said I have the wrong vehicle for a smooth ride. I told him "yes, I understand that" but I went on to explain that with my illness, my time is short and I will die with this vehicle. He said I am better off NOT getting the shocks and keeping my tire pressure low and at 30 psi. I told him I appreciated his honesty and also told him I'd pay for the restocking fee. He said that was not necessary and they would rotate and balance my tires and keep the pressure at 30. When I picked her up, I thanked him again for his honesty. That saved me $1200. If I could give less than a star I would. This place sent me and my son off with a faulty stem on brand new tires in a rain storm at night through the pass. I saw the tech struggle with the tire and call others over to look at it. Woke up the next day with a completely flat tire. When i called they said call a closer store. I had to get my van 3500 towed in , the store told me the wrong bolt or but was placed on the valve stem. When confronted the store manger absolutely refused to even try to admit any wrong was done on his part. After speaking with the sister store and owner they had told me this guy has been a problem in the past. Do not go to this store.
