I called them today to come put air in my tire because the small compressor i use, didn't work correctly and i ended up with a flat tire. I've used them in the past and it's never been a problem. Until today. Now they want to charge $59.00 to come to your home to put air in your tire. Screw them. I really needed their help today and they totally failed at customer service. I will never do business with them again. I bet Les Schwab is rolling in his grave at how his business is being ran now. read more

We lost a bolt holding our torsion bar together. We were stranded more than 400 miles from home and needed to head out the next day. The people at Les Schwab on 5th Ave were recommended to us by another mechanic shop that couldn't get us in. I watched while they lowered quotes as people came in to pay, told people they didn't need expensive work done, they only needed a much cheaper maintenance something done, and found our issue. We do live in American Falls. Learned to love it, when one is in his 20s, one may want or expect more active social life or better shopping nearby, but it slowly fades with age, Amazon delivers and so do most other stores. In 2024 you can gain access to lots of new and inspiring information without physically leaving your household. I still wish we had milder winters, but there are always few silver linings in everything. The town is quiet and we have nice backyard. The drivers are pretty calm. We also have Les Schwab in town which used to be if not nicer, than more professional and showed much greater attention to details. Tire pressure I'd always have to adjust as overinflating them is customary, but I was Ok with it. I do appreciate manager's efforts to make things right there, but lately it appears they have a new employee named Billy and I almost feel he is related to someone very important as nobody dares to correct him. Billy told you what? Go talk with Billy. Ok... Well... One sunny Thursday my brake pedal just sinks in 3/4 of the way and I got worried as there were no visible leaks, everything else looked decent yet pedal almost hit the floor. The very next day on Friday by like 8.15 am so 15 minutes from opening I brought my truck in told Billy he could have it all day, checked intermittently around 2 pm was told they are extra busy, 5.50 pm last check I am told they had no time to look at it in 10 business hours, we agreed they will lock the key in and leave the vehicle outside for me around 6.49 pm Billy leaves me voicemail stating they replaced brake fluid and all is fixed, I came picked up a vehicle and a bill and pedal still goes all the way down. So nothing fixed in 10 hours and I felt I was treated like I was somewhat deficient mentally or negligent even though I do all my preventative maintenance well ahead and according to manufacturer's schedule and since 2013 spent thousands of dollars at Les Schwab on tires, brakes, alignment...you name it...and it just happened to be an emergency issue, meaning it was not anticipated and I wanted it fixed asap. Gave them all day, 10 business hours, walked home so I'd be able to take my wife to work and use her vehicle to run errands. She had to ask co-workers for ride home. This guys in Pocatello were simply amazing. Located right across from historical church, one of only 2 in this area that can claim apostolic succession, meaning it can trace its roots directly from Christ and apostles. And I think old town has the character and few good coffee places. The lady at the reception was very polite and attentive. The guys at the bay I can't thank enough Nick, Curtis and especially Dakota who got me in on a very short notice, was very professional in all dealings and fixed the issue in less than 45 minutes. Brake pedal felt exactly the same, no brake master cylinder replacements needed as estimated by Billy in American Falls. I was informed that on some models the bleeding sequence is different. And just doing it in the correct order fixes the issue. I feel like we need to give this guys more of our business. It is not a hidden knowledge. Who would have thought that driving 53 miles roundtrip can save me the whole day of waiting! If AF guys can not even properly locate tire pressure sticker on right passenger door perhaps their manager can make them read daily from Haynes manual and memorize few pages? Thank you guys, we'll be back. Not sure why all the rush to build another gas station in American Falls? For city of 5000 7 or 8 we already have will suffice, I never wait to get gas, on the other hand if city leaders could figure out away to accommodate another tire place or 2 it will be greatly appreciated. My kids and I are on a long road trip from southern Ca, to Lake Tahoe & Fallen Leaf Lake in CA, Twin Falls & Lewiston ID, Shelby MT (to see Glacier National Park). From there we were going to go to Yellowstone but shortly before taking the exit to go there, my front driver side tire was very wobbly. A nice couple pulled over and the guy was able to tell me it was the wheel bearing. I decided to chance it and go the 2hrs to Pocatello to make it to the Airbnb I had reserved. I had two nights reserved at an Airbnb in Page, AZ the next day. In the morning, I called around to a bunch of auto repair shops, and went into one before Les Shwab. Everywhere was telling me the soonest they could get it done was 2 days out. I was going to be out the money in AZ because it was non-refundable. I would have had to pay for another room in Pocatello for those 2 days, plus the repairs on my car. One other place had quoted me up to $1,400. I was freaking out a little. As soon as I walked into Les Shwab, an employee named Nick asked what I was needing done. I explained the situation. He assured me he could get it done, but it would be an all day job. I mentioned walking my kids to the park while we waited. Nick pointed out which park would not be the greatest to take my kids to due to homeless people in the area. I definitely appreciated that. While waiting, I was thinking about getting a car rental for the day because it can be a little scary walking around in a city you've never been to with a 3 & 6 year old. I walked outside and asked another guy that was by my car if he knew an estimated time, to see if it would be worth getting the rental. He said it would be about 45 minutes. I was like "ohhhh wow, that was fast!!" He said that Nick had been working on it non-stop since I brought it in. Once it was done, I mentioned to him that was really fast and he said "yeah, you said you were trying to get to AZ today." That was so nice and very much appreciated!! It helped me and my kids continue on our road trip and make wonderful memories that we will always cherish. I was also charged much, much less than several others were saying. So rather than just heading home after leaving Pocatello and ending our road trip on a stressful note... Later that day, my kids got to fly at iFly Utah indoor skydiving (Mama used to skydive). We ran into some flash flooding, lightning, and thunder in AZ, but will be going to Lake Powell tomorrow and then where my son has been wanting to go forever, The Grand Canyon. It has been a wonderful way to end our trip. Thanks to Nick for making it possible!! Give the guy a raise for being a hard worker. read more

Dropped in out of the blue to have my left rear tire checked out for a slow leak. I was waited on immediately with a sales man. Told him what was going on with my tire and he wrote me up right than and within 10 minutes a technician pulled my truck in to get checked out. They found a small screw in the middle of the tread area, removed the tire and patched the inside. My whole time there was less than 35 minutes. The technician pulled my truck out front and came into the office area and told me what he had done. Handed me the keys and thanked me for coming in. The service was free. Took my car in to have the tires checked because of low tire light was on. they took down my information and then one guy that just came in the middle of all this was a jerk and said it would be 35 to 45 minutes before we can get to it. Luckily the gentleman I first talked with came out as I was leaving and did check my tires and one was low I would like to thank that Gentlemen that did help He had red hair, and the other guy was an JERK!! I brought in a car that had a lug nut that was stripped and needed to come off, along with a new wheel stud. They looked at it and the employee came back and told me he couldn't do it that day but said I could make an appointment to come back and it would it would be $125 an hour for the labor to fix it. I asked him how he would justify this absurd amount and he told me that he had to drill the lug nut off, which I understand, but that amount is complete highway robbery. Have had other poor experiences with them where they were not honest or upfront with my wife in getting new wheels put on. Would never recommend Les Schwab to anyone. read more

I brought my car to them when I snapped a wheel stud years back. Told the gentlemen on the phone it had wheel spacers on it at the time. Said to me no problem. Get the car towed there, dropped it off only to get a phone call 30 minutes later saying they won't touch it because of the wheel spacers. I understand it's a liability issue due to the spacers being a PITA to have the wheel torqued down properly. They agreed as long as I didn't hold them liable if something happens. Said that's fine just need a new wheel stud, I can ensure the wheel stays on. Wheel studs were old and needed replaced. So they agreed, I get the car back. So here we are couple years later and I'm doing some axel work. Have to take off my calipers to do so. And here I find they have rolled my caliper threading and stripped my bolt.. broke a couple harbor freight wrenches trying to get the dam bolt off. Only to find this. Now I need a new Brembo caliper, which are not cheap. If I had the tools at the time I would have done it my self. First and last time ever going to les Schwab. Edit: it's actually JB weld on the bolt! Brilliant! Bunch of rookies. The hell man??? read more

Not only did they go immediately to my vehicle but they filled the tire with air, followed me back to the tire store, and made sure I got there safely! I really appreciated that. Great service from everyone who works on the vehicles. The older blonde lady who sits behind the desk in the lobby is a different story. She's abrupt to put it nice. She verges on disrespectful from the 3-4 interactions I've had with her. She slowly gets up from her desk when customers come in the door and makes a face like they're a hassle for her. In spite of that, I will keep bringing my vehicles in. Update: I needed to have my tires changed over for winter. I called in to check for appts. Megan ( the blonde lady from the first story) answered the phone and said 'no, we don't take appts'. Ok no big deal. So I ask Megan how long it might take to get done if I bring the car in at 11. The response (in a snarky tone) 'I don't know. It could be an hour. I just don't know'. My response: 'thanks. I'll call the Les Schwab across town'. So I call the one across town on 4020 Yellowstone and talked to Hailey. Her response when I asked the same simple question: 'We can get you in asap and make it easy for you'. Thanks Hailey. I was preparing to sell my truck when I found that the valve stems were not keeping air in the tire. Some guys had driven up from Utah and were ready to buy the truck. We went to Big O and they were not helpful at all. I get that it was close to closing but they expressed no interest in helping us at all. But praise the lord Les Schwab was around the corner. Not only was Nick extremely helpful, he replaced the valve stems without question. No charge. I was able to get the tires back on my truck and get it sold. I won't forget that act of kindness. After receiving GREAT service for our BIG O tires at LES SCHWAB, cause BIG O (frankly) SUCKS, we purchased a new set when the BIG O rubber prematurely wore out. Great service, prompt and great prices. Clean shop, professional, can't even hear the air tools from the bays. Other stores the noise is so loud its maddening. I have bought my last 2 sets of tires from this location and 1 from the Hailey location. I brought my car to this location for a rotation and balance. I was informed that my rear brakes were due for service and that I could bring it in 2 days later at 9am for service, no price quote was given to me. I arrived 2 days later at 8:45 for service. My car sat outside till 10am and was finished by 11am. My bill was $569.00, way overpriced. When I complained, their reply was it was 2 hours labor [it only took 1 hour]. They also claim that I was quoted a price, and that is a lie. I checked what their competitors charged for the same service [Big O and Commercial Tire], their price quotes were $200.00 and $230.00 lower than Les Schwab. I waited in their lobby during the service. No conversation about drum or caliper replacement, which should have been given to me. I've been a loyal customer to Les Schwab for many years, no complaints until now. Apparently it's about how much money they can gouge out of a customer before sending them on their way, especially in these times. I definitely will be taking my business elsewhere. I am disappointed with the service, but the reply email they sent just lost them a loyal customer. read more

Far below even mediocre service. They do not follow the Les Schwab way with customer service and are now where near helpful. Went there for a wheel for my trailer and they said it is no longer made however the other Les Schwab in town ordered it with ease. Took my work car in for new tire and waited for 20 minutes to even be helped. Once I finally got someone to help, I sat waiting for another 25 minutes while my car still sat where I parked it when they were fully staffed and only had one car in the bay. I got my keys back and went to the other location where I was in and out in 30 minutes. I learned my lesson to not return and give them my service. read more

This les schwab has given me the WORST service I have ever received. They have messed up TWO of my alignments and not told me (had to get new tires that were thankfully still under warranty), they have broken pieces of their tire machine into my tire and not informed me (ruined one and had to get a new tire), and they never have been kind to me. Pretty over their service and kicking myself for going back three times before realizing I should never return. read more

We are on a road trip and felt the front start to vibrate. We thought it was a tire being out of balance so decided to stop to have it checked. Upon inspection they found that the front wheel bearings were failing. They had new bearings installed and all the tires balanced within an hour! Lady at front counter with long blonde hair, Megan, is rude. Acts like customer is an inconvenience to wait on. Was told my 70,000 mile tire separated after 25,000 miles. Told I had to replace it for $120. I was furious. All other tires fine. Bought all four at same time plus snow tires put on for six of those months so probably even less miles on that tire. Boyfriend got screwed too by them last summer. Heard them tell another customer exact same thing about a tire separating... sounds like they are scamming customers. Going to give my money to big o from now on like my boyfriend is now doing! read more

Very disrespectful woman on the phone. I have spent a lot of money here and they won't stay 10 minutes to just put my tire on for me. So it's locked up all week so I can't put it on myself. Brought my vehicle in for a slow leak in the rear passenger tire. Friendly service at drop-off, and they took my cell # to call when it was ready. I walked to a friend's house and received a call within an hour that the vehicle was ready for pick up. On arriving back at the business I was given the keys, an explanation that it was a nail in the tire, and a charge of $0.00, with a friendly request that if I needed to buy tires to please consider coming back to see them. My husband and I have been with Les Schwab for about ten years. Love the service and have been to many locations. The Pocatello 5th Avenue location, however, was a different story. We were on vacation and had just pulled into our camp spot when we noticed our breaks grinding on the truck. It was obvious they needed worked on before we headed home. Called and made an appointment for 10am the next day. We get there, two kids and our dog, and were told we needed to wait three hours for the parts truck to arrive. I assumed they weren't ready for the truck yet so my kids and I were sitting in the truck and a guy walks up "So, are you going to get out or what?" Uh, yes.. I wasn't aware you were ready for our vehicle yet.. Strike one of rude service. Then we proceed to ask if there is somewhere good to eat in the area while we wait, "The one McDonalds closed down the street, sorry." Uh.. Ok. We aren't from here sorry for asking. Strike two. After walking several miles to find somewhere to eat, with kids and a dog, super hot morning, we went back to get the truck. Pulled away and hop on the freeway just to find our wheel cover fly off and get destroyed! They didn't put it on tight at all! Strike three.. I am thankful we live near a Les Schwab with customer service skills and communication, as well as ensuring all things are tight and put back together correctly before we leave.
