Best service all the way around , fast and reliable service, I take my car to get tires

My second flat tire in 3 days, so Ive really been putting that Les Schwab tire warranty to work. As always, their crew members are so friendly and helpful, I'm always shaking my head wondering how they consistently hire such great employees. My flat was fixed, remounted, and the spare and jack were neatly replaced. I also decided on a tire rotation to check all the tires and the cost of ALL that customer service was $0. I'll start with the back story: A warning light appeared on my dash alerting me that I had a low tire, so I pulled over to the nearest gas station to address the issue. I inserted my cart and proceeded to air up my tire, but instead of resolving the issue my tire seemed worse. Suspecting user error, I once again inserted my card and the pump came on again, and once more I struggled to air my tire. Ultimately my low tire was left completely deflated and I was beside myself! I went inside the station to ask for assistance, and was told to ask a gas attendant for help. Upon my request, a guy followed me to my car, saw my flat and said that their air pump didn't work with my type of short tire valve stems. Not wanting to seem completely ignorant, I let him know I've aired my tires before and that there should probably be a warning on their machine if its going to leave people stranded. He said the only thing they had inside was Fix-A-Flat, which would ruin my tire and that I needed someone with an air tank, then mentioned that there was a Les Schwab tire shop across the street that might have one. Thankful for his tip, I set off on my mission to cross the very busy street during rush hour traffic in hopes that they had a tank I could rent and return. The review: Upon entering, I was immediately welcomed by a friendly staff member. Upon hearing about my situation, he told me not to worry, that someone would meet me back over by my car to air up my tire. In no time my prince rode up on a white horse, screech.... I mean an automotive technician drove up in a white Les Schwab emergency truck (I may have been daydreaming while waiting). He reeled out an air hose that seemed to be a mile long, aired my deflated tire and proceeded to check the pressure and fill my other tires before letting me know they all were low about 5 lbs. It had been at least a month since I'd driven this car, so it wasn't a surprise. He told me that I could always pull in to get my tires checked at any Les Schwab and encouraged me to do so if I needed any assistance going forward. I thanked him, and offered him a tip for going the extra mile as he turned to leave. He graciously declined, telling me it was against company policy, but let me know that the staff loves pizza! In my duress, I failed to get the employee's name and any pictures to give them the proper credit, but just know that Les Schwab is doing it right and made a new customer last night! The service is great, everything was explained prior to touching my car (price and services). Employees are very polite. I arrived with tires I ordered: they mounted, balanced, and disposed old. Popcorn and Rosanne on tv while I waited in a comfy clean waiting area, only took 2 hours, I was a walkin on a busy day (no appointment). My mom Yen came in with a tire lock from her Mercedes tire. She went to three different places and they were unable to unlock that one tire. She was so devastated and didn't know where else to go. Ben was able to provide her the service and gave her the help she needed. She is so thankful and wants to let everyone know how great this location is. Me, my sister and our two dogs were fully packed and on our way to the coast when we discovered we had punctured our tire. We called and were able to get a service truck to come put on our spare, and they graciously stayed open on a chilly wet Friday night late to help get us back on the road! I don't like to do bad reviews, but it is very necessary. I took my car in to get looked at very friendly, but not a good experience. They are over my car issues. He told me it was just a rotor issue I needed. I had to leave, so I needed to reschedule, so I took it the nearest one I could find, which was in Woodburn, oregon. Not thinking anything but I gave Woodburn my quote that they gave me and told them was my back rotor I needed and they double checked the issues I needed told me it was awhole another issue I needed done and he didn't want talk bad about anyone at the other store but he said they over looked my issue that was wrong and explained very clearly what needed be done. He was so helpful at Woodburn store. I will only be going to the Woodburn area, so I'm glad I double-checked the issue. I'm glad I didn't get it done at West salem, which I will never go back and do not recommend. I went to let Schwab to get new brakes new tires new rotors alignment Calipers and a de-Squeak the whole package! They did not install something correctly and there was a grinding noise. I went in 4 more times For them to fix it! They did not or could not fix it. On my last visit they told me I had to buy new rotors new brakes and new tires And that this would cost an additional $1000. My previous brakes and rotors were less than a year old! I do not recommend this money grubbing company! Terrible service! I could do the work myself but I just don't have the time! But now it looks like I have no choice! read more

This place gets 5 Stars for their quick service and diagnosing an issue the dealership where I take my truck SHOULD have caught but had nothing but green boxes checked (yeah, right!). I got a nail in my side wall which took out the tire and the other three tires were "Down there" so they had a very nice set of used Goodyears available and since I will be trading in the truck in a few months did not want to buy a new set. Prior to installing the tires they inspected my brakes and there it was, my back brakes were pretty much metal to metal. I needed to get going so had them put the tires back on and got back to Eugene and had Les Schwab's do it here as I had to leave it. Typically things aren't so bad here - the people are usually always friendly and eager to help, but today was something else. I woke up this morning to discover I had a flat tire. Hoping that they were open, I managed to get it filled enough to make my way down the hill. Check in, and I spent over an hour just waiting in my car for them to even get to it. (With everything going on, they want you to wait there instead of inside the building. But when they're working on it, you can wait inside, which...I guess makes sense?) I'm glad I brought a book, because good lord. I wish I opted to leave my car because the line is ridiculous and they're only working with two bays. As of now, my car finally is in the bay and I'm waiting for it to finish. Also - there's a lady with dark hair who works here who is not very friendly or nice/welcoming. I found a screw in my tire after I got home from work, and needed to be back at 9am and use my car for some deliveries. We were also short staffed and it was a 10 hour day for me. I showed up when they opened at 8am and explained my situation. Anna at the front desk got me in right away. Jacob worked at top speed to get my tire fixed and me on the road. I am quite disappointed. It was suggested that I visit this particular Les Schwab despite being on the other side of town. I hit a pot hole about a week ago and my tires wheel got bent out of shape. I called and Ben reassured me this is something they could fix. He even saved me a trip down there by letting me send him pictures of my wheel so he can get one on order for me, even allowing me to pay when I came in for the switch. He informed me it would be a reasonable cost for my wheel, and also suggested an alignment. It took a few days, and a couple rounds of phone tag before I was informed my wheel had arrived. I made the trip to the other side of town early in the morning so I could be there right when they opened. I was greeted by Ben, and as he started collecting my information we realized he ordered a wheel for a Yaris, and I drive a Subaru. This was no big deal, as long as he could replace it before a business trip I am taking this weekend. He got the right wheel on order, checked my tire pressure. We spoke about the alignment my car would need, and how they could get me in and out with no issue when my correct wheel showed up. They call me this morning to let me know my wheel was in, and that I could stop by at any time for the replacement. When I showed up, I was informed it was by an appointment only for an alignment and that I could come back later today to have that done. An appointment? This has never been brought up to me and there was only one other car in the shop at the time. If I had known an appointment was necessary, I would have made one when I was on the phone earlier. Especially being on the complete other side of town. I don't know, I just feel like this place dropped the ball on me. I'm disappointed after several conversations regarding an alignment and wheel replacement that needing an appointment was never brought up. Cammi seemed less than sympathetic, and that made things much more disappointing for me. Ben was absolutely great though! Just really wish he would have mentioned needing an appointment for that particular service, especially after stressing how important it would be for my vehicle. read more

Very much appreciate the great customer service! Was told by another place that I'd have to pay a diagnostic charge $$$ and couldn't look at it until late afternoon. Was commuting home to Eugene, stopped in to this store- guys listened to the issue I had, looked at the problem and within minutes I had an answer, no charge. Less than 5 minutes! Outrageous prices and disrespectful employees. Your company reputedly offers a lifetime guarantee. Let me tell you what constitutes this review. I brought my vehicle in to have my tires rotated and balanced as they were hopping down the highway. Inform your people that I didn't have all day they told me it would take 45 minutes. Two and a half hours later I came back and the kid that was supposed to be working on my car had nothing done on it and was helping some woman with her bike for free. I'm not sure why a customer is taking second fiddle to a walk in no paying pedestrian but okay. After entering your store on three separate occasions I had to finally raise my voice at an employee in your office for walking away from me on three separate occasions without saying anything to me or another customer. About two minutes later your manager literally jogged up to my face as I had to stick my hand out and ask him to respect my physical distance to make excuses. According to him, he was on top of it and they would have the vehicle down and done in a few minutes. Okay fine. Problem, is under your manager supervision your child Tech left a lug nut off of my vehicle and torqued two of my lug nuts on my front wheel to over 200 ft lbs. Guess what, now I get to do a brake job because my disc is Warped. What a shock. I'll leave you two final thoughts. I called your customer service yesterday and informed them all of this and the individual left me with no options other than going back to the dealership that treated me so poorly even though there's two other local dealerships. I informed him that while I was really annoyed with the service I was considering doing a little bit more due to the fact that I had my dash cam running as your employees were speaking extremely poor of me. Your rep literally didn't care. I'm sure we'll play out nicely on YouTube. Will never be back. Stop making excuses like my kids and own up. Act like men. Went in to get an air check. Park I. Their air check area waited for 5 minutes. There was nobody in the bays working on anything. Two guys came out looked directly at me, then they ignored me and walked out the front door. Customer service used to be the reason people loved Les Schwab. The manager of the Les Schwab in West Salem, Oregon was strangely rude to me when I walked in. I had a tire repaired on my van and some time later the engine failed. I was checking out the wheels before it was towed away and noticed the lug nuts were rounded off. I got out the lug wrench and found every single lug nut on every wheel was rounded off and unusable. The manager was a blonde guy with a bigoted attitude. I'm putting 2 and 2 together and saying that this was intentional vandalism. Nobody is stupid enough to damage ALL the lug nuts when only 1 tire was being repaired. He hoped I would be stuck on the road somewhere without being able to fix a flat. Well, it didn't happen. We've used W Salem Les Schwab for a number of years now and have been pretty satisfied. Recently, however my wife took our VW in for an alignment and they came back with a list of repairs which included new wheel bearings to the tune of ~$500. Being an older car, I found it plausible and attempted to do the work myself. The parts I ordered weren't OEM and ended up being incorrect and the work kind of a pain anyway, so I opted to take it into a local, well-established and reputable VW repair shop. The owner, with decades of VW experience said the bearings were NOT bad and did not need replacing. Not sure how to feel about W Salem Les Schwab after this... Could have been the technician, but I certainly won't use them for major suspension/front end work. read more

Run from this group if you want value for your $ and safety. I hired West Salem Les Schwab (LS) to match two new tires to my existing tires. LS agreed to only replace two new tires but instead tossed all my tires and billed me, without my permission and without compensating me for my losses. My 4x4 came in with one bad tire from a set of two that this company sold me less than 34k miles ago. The two tires were sold with lifetime warranty. LS would not honor warranty but stated they would match two new tires to my existing tires and take the tire that did not fail and make it my spare. LS stated bring 4x4 back if these tires not a match and we will replace them with tires that are better match. New tires were not a match. Car swung violently from left to right as I struggled to keep vehicle in my lane on highway. These tires cost $440. Existing tires have less than 24k miles, cost $436 and were installed by a professional company in Keizer. LS previously stated these are great tires and we will be able to match to them due to our extensive inventory. 4x4 returned to LS with instructs remove the offensive tires and put on the promised tires that better match. You Without calling for permission LS tossed our good tires that had less than 24k miles use snd installed two more of the offensive tires and billed another $440 that we had to pay to get our 4x4 back. 3.5 months later LS claims in letter that our front tires both failed when brought in. They claim manager could have solved all our problems when we came to get our vehicle back. They further state the vehicle needed an alignment and they had no knowledge of the condition of our other tires. Pure fiction. Run from LS. Run fast. LS tested vehicle for 30 minutes first day to try to determine why one tire failed. They concluded alignment perfect. No adjustment needed. LS installed the tire that did not fail by making it out new spare. On day LS installed their 4 tires their manager was not in according to wait staff. Kinda hard for manager to fix when not there. We informed the tires they were going to match to were Cooper ATR s and had less than 24k miles of wear. LS agreed the tires were in excellent shape and all they would do is match 2 tires to them. Senseless for LS to toss these good tires but they did. Senseless to bill another $440 when they tossed our $436 tires without our permission. Seems agreement with customer for two new tires overrides. LS doesn't want to agree and stated they did nothing wrong. Think twice before considering them. Went in just before my camping trip. Went just before they opened. The door happen to be unlocked because they were having a quick meeting. One of the gentleman stood up, checked me in despite the fact of still being closed. About 20 minutes later I was called while at work, told to come pick up the truck as they were finished inspecting for the pre trip check list. Everything was great. Still no issues, although my brakes still make a "grinding noise". But they said they were still at 90% and the rotors have no damage on them. They assured me it was the material of the OEM BRAKE PADS. The pre installed ones were after market, no clues how bad or great, but they never made noise. read more

I have visited quite a few Les Schwabs over the years. It use to be a highlight of my tire experience, Now not so much. I have had several issues with the Independence Store as well as the West Salem Branch. The customer service side of things is awful! Condecending and treating customers like they are dumber than them. I may not know tires but I know what good customer service is... And they don't give a S#!t even when you complain. One experience I had was that I ordered a rim and tire from them... told them what day I would be back in to get it. I gave them just over a week to get it done. I called on the Sat to see if it was done, was told yes.. come on down. I get there and waited for 15 minutes to be told that it was ready. I said ok.. I only live a few blocks away.. I will come back at 3pm, that would have given them 4 hours to take care of it.. I come back at 3 pm and am told it wasnt done yet..Frustrated I expressed my frustration.. I needed this to get to work on monday. he shrugged and said... we didnt do it. not sure what to tell you. I was pissed... told him I would be back Monday.. Didn't offer a discount or anything... Just a big ol middle finger. The second one was when i was in west Salem and I had a screw in my tire and was just gonna drop it off. Great service even when they were swamped! Stopped in because I had a tire that was leaking air. The folks at Schwab hurried to troubleshoot the problem and get me back out on the road. The service technician found a big bolt in my tire. They were then able to repair the tire. They checked the air pressure in all my tires and got me out of there faster than they had estimated. Even though the tires came on the vehicle they did not charge me for the repair! Next fall when I need new tires, I will certainly get them from Schwab...with nationwide service and employees like those at my local Les Schwab, I would be foolish to go elsewhere. read more

Big fat F. Matthew (service tech) is a complete and utter moron he could have gotten my nephew and me killed today or damaged my truck costing me lots of $. I went to LS earlier today because i noticed my truck was shaking upon parking in their lot and doing a walk around i noticed that i only had 2 lug nuts left o.k. the front passenger side. I went inside and informed them of the problem at which point Matthew took it into their bay and checked it out then came out and told me that the bolts themselves had broken off and required replacement but that they didn't have the part so i called firestone who did have the part so i asked matthew if it would be safe to drive over the bridge to firestone and he said " yeh you should be fine" wtf!?! He is the professional hindsight is 20/20 i will know better in the future. So Matthew took off and then i had to go to the guy at the desk Matt ( assit man) and ask him if he could get my truck out of the bay for me so i could go. He transfers the keys to Matthew who pulls my rig out and i get in and leave and literally the second i left the parking lot the truck started wobbling really bad and by the grace of God i got her pulled over without the last lug failing and got a tow. Firestone had to put the truck on a rolling jack just to safely get the truck in their bay. I called the LS manager matt at which point i explained the fiasco that went down and both him and the Matthew guy stated that they didnt know i was going to drive my truck away and that it wasn't their fault. Seriously!? How the hell do they not see that they messed up? They should have said no ma'am this truck will need to be towed.but Matthew said he didn't know i was going to drive it after me specifically asking him exactly that.and on top of all that he pulled the truck out for me and left the rig on and the door open and watched me leave so seriously dont try and twist it Matthew. You f$!ked up period, own up to your mistake. So in short dont go to these idiots they could have seriously messed my world up. That's my truck getting pulled up onto the tow truck. read more

so just tired and fed up. I noticed a screw coming out of the side of my tire today. Went in to have it pulled out, and once again...."we can't repair that but we can sell you a new tire" I would believe that once, maybe even twice, but this is the third time. I get the same story every time no matter what is wrong with the tire: "the sides are separating and we can't repair it....." But yet as far as I can tell by my warranty, the tires still have about 10,000 miles to go before the warranty is up, so I'm not sure why I have to buy a new tire, but I might even be willing to do so at a prorated cost since the warranty isn't even up. But then again I think "why?". Why buy one more tire that the warranty will be no good on if something happens to it? I just don't know anymore. My entire family has been pretty loyal to Les Schwab over the decades, in fact, I can't ever remember my parents or me going anywhere else. But when you get the same story every time and have to buy a new tire every time or even worse a whole set of 4- it gets old. I guess the warranty means nothing. So I will sit until the first of the month comes around again and buy four new tires again so they will all match, but this time I will not be doing it at your store....because once again I will say it- the warranty means nothing. read more

Once again received horrible service from Les Schwab. They don't actually stand behind the tires they sell which once again have worn out tens of thousands of miles before they were promised EVEN THOUGH they were meticulously rotated and cared for as Les Schwab suggested. Somehow that was called My FAULT by their staff. Not sure what else I could have done to care for the tires when I did exactly as they suggested. Now I have to buy new tires ....again. Next time it won't be from Les Schwab. I'm DONE with them. I do NOT recommend Les Schwab. read more

In that time I have purchased at least 8 sets of tires, batteries, shocks, alignments and have to say the service has been exceptional, the quality of tire and parts superlative and the cost equal and sometimes less than other tire businesses. came in with a cummins i just bought. it was riding horrible on the way down. BTW i live in sacramento CA md i im in salem OR. JORDAN & Tony & the other gentlenmen inspected my truck. they were super honest with me and told me my ball joints were shot and so was the suspension. so i ended up renting a uhaul trailer to drive it back the 9 hours. Manager Lyle and his team provide amazing customer service. They care about their customers and it shows. We took our van in after being told the front breaks needed to be replaced. We were quoted between $180 to $300 depending on what needed to be done. The team at West Salem Les Schwab quickly identified the only problem was the Rotors needed to be turned, the breaks were fine. The cost was only $90, and our van was ready to go in an hour. In additional the honest and professional service, they actively support the local schools and nonprofits. Highly recommended them. read more
