Veronica helped me out sooooo much. My skimmer is clogged and the pool started to get green. She told me to use green to clean and then shock the pool 5 mins later and then shock again then clear it up and I started to do it and an hour later the pool cleared up! Here is an update from June 2019: Last year Leslie's closed my pool and exceeded my expectations. Now this year I had them open my pool. How did that go you ask? Well last year's amazing service was no fluke. These guys are the real deal. Called to let us know when they'd be arriving, opened pool and cleaned up. Jon and David were easy to talk to , eager to please and showed real pride in doing an awesome job. It really says something about Leslie's as a company when the employees go above and beyond what is just required to do a job. Jon and David really made sure we understood our next steps and what to expect with the pool. Those extra few minutes they took to provide great customer service makes all the difference. Great company, great customer service and a great job. Opening and closing a pool is a stressful thing. Well it used to be until I discovered Leslie's. I had been dealing with another company and on the phone they always said "Don't worry" but in person it was "We don't do that." After another bad opening experience I took my water to Leslie's to be tested, for free. The only thing I needed to do was run the filter and get the salt level lower. They said to bring a sample in again a week later and sure enough everything was perfect. I scheduled a closing for October and the team showed up as scheduled, big smiles and ready to help. They put both the leaf cover and regular cover on. Explained everything they were doing and noted the account for the things we would need to open pool next summer. They insisted on storing the pump, filter and accessories for me. I didn't have to lift a finger. The team today, Jack and David, were awesome. They were professional, friendly and extremely customer service oriented. Josh in the Patchogue store is always ready to help out and give honest advice. I recommend Leslie's wholeheartedly. read more

I had stopped in this store once before & it was a train wreck so I hadn't been back , but I was passing by & my husband had asked me to stop. There's a new manager & she was very helpful. I'm pretty clueless when it comes to my pool & the chemicals but she was patient & explained it in a way I really understand. I really just appreciated her positive attitude & the store itself looked completely different then I remember. If this store has turned you off in the past, give it another chance.. I bought a pool heater on May 8, 2018 and was told it came with free installation which is the reason why I purchased it from Leslies. Its 7 weeks later and I'm still waiting for the installation to happen. They sent some guy over to my house to do a "site inspection" prior to install which by the way they charged me $100! Then they tell me I need additional parts which were ordered. Then they came back a month later to install and the guy says he needs more parts! Now 3 weeks later I call them and they tell me they have been waiting for ME!!??!! Now they want to come install middle of July! Totally incompetent service people. The season will be over soon and I still don't have the heater installed AND I PAID in full on my credit card in May! Absolutely crazy. I should have bought the heater from another reliable pool company and I would be enjoying it now. My advice to you is DO NOT USE Leslies Pool Service for any of your pool equipment. Its not worth the aggravation and waste of time to save a few bucks. read more

Don't under any circumstances purchase online from Leslie's. They will not allow returns if item is $25 or under. A name company like this should be ashamed i will never purchase another item from them. read more

Had pool opening scheduled. Waited 9 to 5 as "demanded". Never showed; never called; wasted entire day. It's Saturday, so the "service dept' was closed. Store manager at local branch tried to help, but couldn't since the centralized service department was closed. What a waste of time. Guess you get what you pay for. Kind of tough to find a new company to open now. I'm sure Lisle pool service dept could care less. read more

Terrible experience. Have a Polaris Robot with error code indicating traction motor shot. Called was assured he would fix it but warned me they would test computer first separately because sometimes they generate false codes. Also warned me because end of season it would take about 2 weeks. Sure enough I waited 10days. Good news though ! Computer good motor bad. So ok'd ordering $500 part. After another 5 days called and said all good and ready to go! So went to pick up. Upon arrival, went to back to see robot laying on floor, cords all tangled and generally complete disorder. Finally was able to separate and return open where I promptly plugged in to get in pool only to get a new error code indicting problem with connection to computer. So returned next day. A day later I get the call, computer shot! Good news though after searching they could find one for $600. Well one could imagine my reaction. In the end to make a long story less long they were unprofessional took no responsibility for their part in breaking somethings they confirmed was working and simply tried to upsell me a new model that was $3,000. There are many detail not include here because the stress of recalling this is difficult. Just stay away. The only way they stay in business in contracts with local business was with commercial pools. You've been warned. One star because 0 is not allowed read more

These folks are clowns. I originally called up to Leslie's in Patchogue to find out if they can replace the bearings in a pool pump. I was told that they could and that I would only be charged for parts (labor was free.) After waiting about two weeks, I never heard back so I decided to call them up. I spoke with a woman named Angel that is the manager/pool pump repair person and she told me that they needed to get a new waterproof seal in order to complete the project. I asked again whether they could do the bearings, and she assured me that they could. Today, I took a call from a pool pump repair specialist at another location, and he told me that Leslie's does not do pump bearings, and that I would either need to take my pump somewhere else or purchase a new pump. I cannot speak on any other location other than the Patchogue location, therefore my comments only pertain to this location. Angel and her staff are very unprofessional. To not have the courtesy to call back with updates is unprofessional. To say that you and your staff can complete a task and then come back to me via another location stating that the task cannot be completed is unprofessional. My advice is that you don't waste your time with Angel and the rest of the staff at the Patchogue location and go somewhere else. read more
