DO NOT USE FAIRFIELD. They will present you a contract that…read moreincludes coping, but then attempt to hold your pool project hostage until you agree that they DON'T have to install coping, despite it being in the contract that they wrote. After that, the owner, Jeremy, will call you and tell you that because there is no coping, they are not responsible for the shoddy work they did during the installation. Once we started getting other contractors to look at the installation, they declined to install or warrant any coping because the underlying concrete was already deteriorating and would cause the coping to crack and loosen. We had resorted to using outdoor carpet around the pool because no reputable pool or tile company in the area will touch this project. After only one year, the pool installation has deteriorated to the point that it will have to be replaced. This is an outright scam. It's a shame that they were the only pool company that carried the fiberglass pool shell we wanted. Had we known, we would have definitely found someone else. As you can see from the photos, there is only a concrete collar installed, no coping. We have since learned that if the concrete is that thin, it requires rebar or mesh reinforcement, and it obviously has neither. If it hadn't started cracking immediately, we would likely have been fooled by the thin, un-reinforced concrete. We have spent the last three years trying to get Fairfield to remedy this situation, and have had to reach out to the shell manufacturer for assistance.

My wife and I were trying to figure out what is the single best thing we have bought; in terms of…read moreusage, reliability, and cost, since we got married in 1994. The answer is our hot tub, so I am glad to write this review from a position of expertise. On November 3, 2012, we bought a Vista Hot Tub from Scarritt Spas and I thought it would be like an exercise bicycle...get used couple of times the first months and then everyone would gradually lose interest. The opposite has been the truth. I'll bet this tub has been used 150 days a year, every year, since it was installed, at a utility cost of pennies per day. I never thought I would use it...but it is wonderful for achy joints, sore muscles and for just rehabilitating after a hard day's work or a long bike ride. The kids use it almost every night when they are home from college or visiting. There is nothing better than hot-tubbing, with a hat on, during a snow storm. The colder the better. In the summer, the Vista has a low-power setting so the heater does not waste energy, and the kids turn the spa down to a more refreshing 85 degrees. We have had to have it serviced exactly one time, and that was when the heat pump was acting up and Scarritt came out and replaced it for free; two days after we called. In terms of maintenance; I have replaced the filters one time and I had to order a new cover after I inadvertently went all the way through it while pushing snow off. The chemicals are inexpensive; they do not even run $100.00/year. I thought I was going to have to be a chemist to keep the tub balanced but one of the greatest free services Scarritt provides is the ability to bring in a water sample and they print out a sheet of specific instructions of what to add to the tub. I don't have to do that often, it's usually a teaspoon here or a tablespoon there, but it gives me great peace of mind knowing it is well balanced. I can't wait for the grandchildren to be old enough to enjoy it, I am sure it will still be every bit as dependable at that point.

Nick Von at the Avon CT was nice enough to deal with. When I was told about the delay, he offered for me to cancel the order and get a refund. I chose to wait. The hot tub was delivered in Sept 2021. Aaron (install tech) was great, he responded via text during off hours and was very accommodating. Aaron has since left Superior. The spa needed a few services as some jets weren't working properly. They fixed them under warranty. I really like the hot tub, it's great. However, here are my issues: Once the hot tub is in, Superior doesn't offer any other services. They have no water testing capabilities. As a new hot tub owner, I was lost when it came to water chemistry. Honestly, when I received advice from Superior regarding the water, it only made it worse. Superior's servicing is done by a 3rd party out of Massachusetts. The 3rd party really doesn't care about customer service. For example, there was a recall on my spa just over a year after installation. The 3rd party gave me a difficult time about when they were coming to service it. I wanted to be present. The 3rd party was inflexible and was more concerned about their schedule than customer satisfaction. I've been to Scarritt Pools and Spas (they sell Hotspring spas) in Bristol CT many times, they offer free water testing and they tell you EXACTLY what chemicals to add and how often. I've been the Scarritt several times in a week, they are happy to help. They seem to be a one stop shop with much better customer service. Despite being happy with my Sundance hot tub. From a customer service view, I should've bought my hot tub at Scarritt.

I called the store and spoke to Nicholas. He was very responsive and had a technician out the next day to resolve my issue. The technician was very experienced and even offered me some great advice on another project I am working on. It appears the fixture was secured too tightly during the initially build. Nice job. Great customer service. Gary V.
