Anyways, I wasn't really looking forward to this junket, as my pool service people have let me down and now my colorblind self is trying to figure out how I'm going to get these levels correct with the test strips. Been going to this store over 15 years. It's been going downhill but I have never had the trouble I had today. I went to exchange some scale prevent for scale remove. It was exactly the same price but Antoine insisted I pay $2 more as "the system" could not handle transferring my "rewards" that had given me a discount. Why couldn't the rewards be refunded too? Antoine had no answer. I asked to speak with the manager but he was not available. This on top of the store actually being closed at 4.30 pm yesterday with a sign saying 'back at five'. I dread going to pool stores because they always smell like chlorine and this is one smell I just cannot stand! But all pool stores smell this way so I gotta tough it out. Leslies is as good a Pool store as I've been to. They have a good selection of pool/spa necessities and a good and fun selection of pool/spa toys, floaties, and things that might make a good gift for someone you know who owns a pool or spa. Keep that in mind next time you're stuck on a gift idea because Leslie's usually has a good selection of ideas. Also, shout out to the staff! I agreed to pay a $113 to have their tech come and service my salt system. I sent a picture IN ADVANCE of the LED display / console showing the error message and red lights. I was told that the $113 would pay for 1 hr of his time / labor. The guy showed up not having a clue what the issue was. He never saw the picture. He had no parts with him even though I was told that the techs all carry parts with them and they frequently service my system. He told me that a new main circuit board will cost around $200 plus labor but he could not guarantee that it would fix the problem. He said another option is to buy an entirely new system. My system which cost over $4000 is only a few years old! I told him that before I spend $200 plus $100 or more on labor (his first option) with no guarantees I would need assurance that this would truly be the solution. He spent around 20 min on hold with the manufacturer. He then changed his story to say that a new board definitely would solve the problem. Then he tried to bill me for the $113 plus a $35 trip charge which was never disclosed to me when I set up the appointment. I told him that the $113 was the only fee I agreed to pay and that it would pay for one hour of LABOR (Not standing around while being put on hold by the manufacture). He got very argumentative so I told him to just leave the invoice in the mailbox. read more

Such an excellent service. I was suspicious that my pool guy was slacking on the job. I brought a sample of water in and had it tested by Spencer. Sure enough, my suspicions were correct, and my pool had 0 chlorine. Spencer set me up with some shock, a pool tester kit, showed me what to do, and some questions to ask my pool guy. The staff at the North Hollywood store were very nice and helpful though I had to wait a bit to get some questions answered. I bought a pool solar cover and went one size up so my irregular shaped pool would be perfectly covered with no gaps. I asked for a recommendation for a person to cut it to fit. The gentleman, Luis Juarez, was a very personable guy but he and his helper did not do a great job.; corners were not rounded and cut short. The sides were not cut straight. The width was short every where while I had plenty of material to cover it. Very disappointing for having paid extra to size up. read more

Usef is the greatest customer service provider Manager I have ever met. Considering you can no longer find/get/receive, great customer satisfaction any longer, Usef is an Angel among us. I live in Burbank where he helped me take care of our pool for years. I went to Leslie's pools to purchase a cleaning vacuum for over $1100, two months later it stopped working. I was upset and went and contacted the store manager, Ingrid. She said bring it in and we will go ahead and get the necessary parts from the manufacturer, I came back 10 days later and they did not have the part and then at that point I was upset and Ingrid immediately went ahead and replaced the machine without any hesitation, I was happy with the end result and now I have a working machine and thank you Ingrid!!! I have rarely come to a Leslie's where the staff is friendly other than the store in sylmar... at this location the manager was so rude from the moment I walked in the door, and not just to me. I had come in for a water test and asked him nicely if he could test my water. He pointed to the bottle of water and said "can you take it to the other side of the counter". Really you can't pick it up and do it, but sure I can do this. Then he was stating how they don't have a pool on file for me.... well I'm bringing in water. So I asked why does that matter, and he says well I need the units of water. So I gave him the gallons... which wasn't that hard to figure out really. While I was here a man was asking about a floatie for his pool. He wanted to know if they price match. The manager was so rude to him that the guy left without buying the pool acid or the floatie... when they finished my water test they told me my water was fine but I should buy $80 worth of products only they have...never mind! I can't believe how rude their staff is. Again, most times I walk into a Leslie's I don't expect people to be a ray of sunshine, cause I feel they just hire the rudest people they can find. I won't purchase anything from here at this location. Next time I will travel to sylmar where they seem to like their jobs. read more

This is the best place you can go if you've got questions about your pool. Ravi has helped us each time we've been to this location, he is such a fountain of information. Such a 180 from the Burbank store... Which offered no help whatsoever and was lacking (at best) in customer service. My decades-old pool pump, with its jury-rigged filter finally gave up the ghost this spring. I'm a DIY guy, but I knew better than to try to tackle this project. I went into my local Leslie's in North Hollywood, where I met with the very enthusiastic and knowledgeable manager, Ravi Mahaindra. He demonstrated the merits of a variable-flow pump. We talked about the limited space my pool equipment has, but after an on-site visit by their installer, Eric, we determined that a new pump, filter AND a heater would all fit into my small space AND my budget. It's Memorial Day weekend. Last night, I cranked up the pool temperature from 65 to 85, and enjoyed beautiful, warm water in a pool that hasn't looked this good since I bought my Laurel Canyon house in 2000. This place is great very professional and real customer service. I dealt with Ben when purchasing a pool pump and going through the DWP rebate program. I just got my check from DWP for $1,000.00. Ben lead me through the process, helped me fill out the paperwork, scheduled the installation which was also a pro job (i forget the name of the installer but he was great). I sent the entire package to DWP just as Ben instructed and my rebate process went smooth. Im also saving money every month on this energy efficient pump. Ben was by himself the couple of times i was there and there were a couple people waiting for help but he doesnt rush you and spends time with every customer so be patient and wait your turn and you'll be in great hands!! read more

Exemplary customer service. I've been in a handful of times in the past 6 months, and Ingrid always remembers me and addresses me by name- it's a small thing but really makes you feel like they care about the customer. Saturday my GF and I went in looking for a pool robot because I am completely DONE with spending 2 hours vacuuming the pool and still having it look like someone dunked a 4x4 in it after a desert run. Ingrid and the manager Ravi were phenomenal. They were very helpful, honest to the point you didn't feel like you were being pushed into an unnecessarily costly option, and FRIENDLY. We went with the Polaris 955 which they didn't have in stock. Ravi found one at the Burbank location and had them hold it for us. We picked it up and an hour later it was crawling around the pool doing it's thing. I know this isn't a product review for the robot, but this thing works like a dream! Totally worth every penny. We had been buying our pool chemicals from Home Depot because we found ourselves there pretty regularly (what new homeowner doesn't, right?). From now on we'll be buying all of our pool supplies at this Leslie's location. I fully believe in supporting the people that take good care of you by giving them your business. Great service- clean fully stocked store. I bought a solar cover for my pool. I decided to put an end to high electric bills and having to constantly heat up my pool. The cover actually works. The water was warm within a few days of sun. And having the cover on in between swimming keeps the water clean and warm. read more

Came In here after my Pool man suggested I drain my water because of so called "chemical in balance " i felt uneasy with his suggestion so I gave this store a call and talked to Brian he had me come in to test my water the results were that I had copper in my water which was causing staining in my pool Brian sold me some products to get the metal out and to help out with the staining ( I believe the total was under $100) and after about 4 weeks the metal is gone and the discoloration on my plaster has begun to clear up without having to drain my pool! I just have to say that I have been very pleased with this store and this location in particular. I went in 2 days ago to buy a volleyball net and basketball hoop for my daughters pool party. I had called ahead to make sure the item was in stock and to check the price. When I arrived, employee "Liz" got me the item right away and even alerted me to a $50 coupon special they had.
