We just had new plaster installed. I'm new to pool chemistry, despite being a material scientist in real life. For the past four days, we've gone in to get our pool water tested on the recommendation of our PB and an online community of gunnite pool owners. We're struggling to get our pH down and FAS up despite following Leslie's instructions AND purchasing well over $500 in chemicals to start. When my husband went in today to get the water tested (day 4) Danny Stafford, the General Manager told my husband we were testing excessively, not following instructions, and that my husband needed to bring me to the store so Danny could tell me that himself. It escalated from there and Danny was rude and unprofessional to my husband to the point that is unacceptable. I'm furious, as I'm simply trying to protect our newly plastered and very expensive pool from unbalanced water. So guess where we're not buying our vacuum, new equipment, or any more chemicals from? We're telling our PB, our contractors, and anyone else who will listen to not waste their time there. read more

I dropped off my pool cleaner on 4/30 for repair. I was told by a salesperson that it wouldn't be looked at for a couple of days because there were others ahead of it. I was fine with that. After 10 days I called the store (#1102) and asked about it's status. I was told if I hadn't heard anything it meant that it was because parts were ordered and the repair was delayed because of that. I asked them to specifically check on my cleaner. After a delay the gentleman on the call admitted that the cleaner had yet to be checked out. So, the waiting for parts story was a lie. Yesterday, day 23, I went to the store and asked about the cleaner again. I was told by the manager it had not been looked at yet. I been in las Vegas about 5 years,,bought a house with a pool and I wanted to take care of it right. I have no experience with a pool .So expect honesty and experience.Well didn't get either.They have young snot nose kids at the counter with no experience and they give you a free water test to up sell you on there products. I bought a jacuzzi pool pump just to be on the safe side,with a 5 year warranty.Well they discontinued jacuzzi pool pumps.Well my pool pump started leaking and they fix it for free,but they said it's been leaking for awhile and my warranty would be no good. As you can see it isn't just a few dollars. It is a lot of money. Leslie's obviously does not know the story about Best Buy and Amazon. Best Buy was almost out of business a few years ago. Because their stores became Amazons showrooms. People went into Best buy and looked at the product then bought it as they stood in front of the product in the store. While the employees were helpless on saving the sale. Well, Best Buy realized to survive they had to compete with Amazon and they now price match Amazon and they are doing great. I seems to me and many other pool owners that I know is that Leslie's believes they have the Southern Nevada market wrapped up but as word of mouth spreads and I have a big mouth. They will find themselves like Best Buy. Either compete or close. I spend over $335.00 on Chemicals and Salt but not from Leslies. The only purchase I made at Leslies was a $10.99 pumice stone and unfortunately muriatic acid at $32.99 a 4 gallon pack (Lowes is $10.99 for a 2 pack) They say their acid is better & stronger. Maybe, but not that much better . I saved over $80.00 buying with Amazon and Lowes. Not to mention almost 2 for 1 VS Leslies. I will be back to Leslies to get my water tested but not to buy anything unless they stop price gouging or they price match Amazon. Like I said, I rather buy locally but not when the retailer is gouging the public. I now shop Best Buy locally because they price match. I am a Realtor in Las Vegas with a lot new people moving to the state and they ask me all the time what pool supply store do I use. I religiously told them Leslies. I will no longer do that and I will tell them why. To add injury to insult. I am part of the rewards program and I had a $10.00 award that literality expired the day before I went in and they would not honor it and after shopping there for over 5 years. Broken equipment? Go see Mia. Hayward pool cleaner was intermittently working. I took it apart to look at it a few times - just cover off to see if any gears were broken and didn't see anything wrong. Took it in to Leslie's and Mia had it completely disassembled, cleaned - golden retriever hair wound around axel, and restored to full functionality within 10 minutes or so. I'm impressed. So I'll recommend again... if you have broken equipment, go see Mia! read more

I had taken in my Rebel pool vacuum for warranty issue. Larry look at it and was unable to locate any problems. So I took it home and did everything he suggested. It still didn't work. I took it back and he still couldn't find anything wrong. They called the factory but they never received a call back. So they call me and said that there was nothing else that could be done. I was extremely frustrated as this cleaner wasn't even 2 years old and wouldn't even cover half the pool. I knew there was on issue but couldn't find out the reason. I spoke at at length with Frankie then explaining that everything was fine with the up until a month ago. He said he would look into further to see what else could be done. He called me the next day saying he researched some forums and found a potential issue. He checked it and sure enough there was a part that needed to be replaced so he did and told me it was ready. I picked it up and thanked him for going above in my opinion. I put the cleaner back into the pool and it work so well it climbed all the way out of the water!!! I had a problem getting my pump to prime, after returning from out of town, following severe winds here in Las Vegas. I explained my situation to the store manager, Ken Carpenter. He suggested a solution and talked me through what steps to take to remedy the problem. He was extremely helpful and very patient with me, as I am not especially mechanically inclined. When the initial trials didn't work, I called him back and he suggested another solution that finally worked. I am not particularly fond of Leslie's Pool company. I actually only went to this location; 9120 West Sahara; because I am used to going to NPS and I wasn't aware that Leslie's had taken the NPS store over. Well I am still completely disappointed in Leslie's. I went in yesterday knowing exactly what I needed. After trying, and I do mean trying, to explain to Mike, the Leslie representative, what I needed, he insisted I purchase two other items that would be much more efficient and less time consuming. This was not the fact. In fact the parts didn't work and when I returned today; April 20, 2016; and showed the Leslie's employee, who was also there and whom I had initially spoke with, I was told there isn't anything they could do when I pointed out that this was their suggested application and it was their insistence I but these parts I was told "nothing I can do", no apology, no let me try to help, I was dismissed completely. The cashier and the representative I spoke also, at first, denied the employee who "worked" with me didn't work there. I have located an NPS store farther from my home, but I shall do my best to avoid Leslie's from now on. Terrible, terrible, terrible customer service. read more

Perhaps the most incompetent manager I have ran into in Las Vegas and that's saying a lot. I went in on a Monday and bought a spa, it was to be delivered at 5:00 pm on Tuesday. I took off work early to prep the area. At 5:30 no one had shown up, so I called. I was told that he'd let everyone go home, it would not be delivered today, they would deliver it tomorrow. I think not. I went in the next day to cancel the order and get a refund, that was when I learn the incompetent person I bought the spa from, was the manager. The clerk had to call him over to approve the refund. If you're there to buy a container of chlorine tabs, that is probably within their capability. Anything that requires coordination, think walking and chewing gum at the same time, appears to be beyond them. I bought a spa elsewhere and avoid this place like the plague, since I don't support incompetence. read more

Surprised no one has reviewed them before. NPS is known as having the most knowledgeable pool techs and the best prices. They don't try to sell you stuff you don't need. Yesterday I was picking up a solar blanket and the tech asked if I had a rebate coupon. I told him I had used one a few years ago so I wasn't eligible, but he told me since three years had elapsed, I was eligible again, and could save $50 with one, I went home and applied online and downloaded the form after my eligibility was confirmed. I went back to the store, they completed the form, and instead of $171 the out-the-door price was $121. It's great how they are always making sure the customer gets all available discounts. Years ago I had to replace all my pool maintenance/cleaning equipment when my ex-wife trashed my house and stole everything in it (including all the appliances). As I was going through the store collecting all the items I needed, they were curious why I needed so much stuff. I explained how everything had been stolen, and they went out of their way to get me additional discounts. Highly recommend this store. read more
