From the start, Marco demonstrated outstanding professionalism and a genuinely helpful attitude. He handled my Polaris 360 issue efficiently and explained the repair process clearly. Although the service took a bit longer than initially estimated due to a busy store--about two hours instead of one--Marco was apologetic and kept me informed throughout. This is more for the management. Went in today and there was only 1 employee working. I must have stood in line for 20-25 minutes before walking out empty handed. Poor guy was answering phones, testing water and ringing people up. Felt bad for him but he seemed to handle it pretty well. Couldn't say the same for myself since I was just picking up pool chemicals and had places to be. I'll be looking for another pool supply place. Upper management ruined this one for me! read more

This is the second time I've gone in that store for assistance. Home Depot was out of chlorine so I thought well Leslies pool must have it and they always load it for me so I went in and asked them to load it and be sure the box is open because they're hard to open and I know other people would agree with me. But evidently there's some rule against those things which is new to me so I had a choice either To buy it and load it myself and try to open the lid on the box or leave. I stopped at this Leslie's location that was usually not one that I visit. While in the area I needed a nylon brush for our recently plastered pool. The store manager Miriam asked if needed help, told me about the better pool brush, and saved me from buying another brush that other customers had rated poorly. I visit this Leslie's location all the time to have my pool and spa water checked and to pick up the chemicals I need to sort my water out. Everyone here is friendly and professional. I especially love Nick and Sydney!! They are amazing and so knowledgeable!! I used to go to the place we purchased our spa from, and although they are friendly and professional, they are a bit slower when it comes to service and just don't seem to be as happy to help. To top it off, their store hours leave a lot to be desired. They close much earlier than Leslie's and have been closed several times I've visited, ultimately making the decision to go to Leslie's exclusively very easy. Oversold on chemicals I don't need every time I go in there. There is always a line and they don't take the time to explain and educate. Finally my small hot tub was full of so many chemicals I had to drain it. There is one kid in there who rubs me the wrong way. He's the angry type. Zero customer service. Stopped in for a pool filter replacement bag and some liquid chlorine. They wanted $50 for a replacement bag where you can buy two for $19 on Amazon (not knock-offs, either). They didn't have liquid chlorine, so I walked out empty-handed. I had a few pool guys come out to install a variable-speed pump and they told me that Leslie's is for suckers; there's some place in Rancho Cordova where all the pool guys go, and they don't mark up their products by over 100%. One of the worst places I've been to, unprofessional workers, you call and they put on hold for 20-25 minutes and they hang up on you. They sold me a part based on free instillation and I've been calling for 6 days and every time a different story, and last time she told me this is a courtesy and you are not paying for this service as a Matter of fact they still have my pool sweeper. I called the store this morning spoke to a very friendly young lady who answered all my questions re: Salt Cell. I went in had my salt cell checked which failed. Russell B was friendly and my Husband's questions and we walked out with our new Jacuzzi Salt Cell. I can say what a Pleasant Experience We had compared to Store #550 Stanford Ranch (Joshua H). I have been here a few times for sun and fun supplies. I needed something for my spa. They have plenty of pool and patio accessories and necessities. The price is reasonable and comparable. Walked into the store and had waited in line for about 15 minutes, only to skipped over by two different people for the same woman? Are you kidding me? Is she a celebrity or something? Sure, excuses could be argued and you can of course explain any oversight. But politeness counts, even an apology would have been something. I did nothing but quietly wait. Perhaps invest in a nice bench for people to help with the wait time. Getting back to the elder gal in front of me (who initially offered to allow me ahead, but was ignored),... you're selling her a heating system and I'm just a guy waiting 15 minutes to buy chlorine. Meanwhile, 3 other people on the other side of the counter were getting free water tests. All of this, yes - I patiently waited because I get it. But at the first opportunity, when both of you skipped over me to assist that woman who just walked in, it does not make sense? This, yeah - I don't get. Yep, so I stuck it out (for anyone else who reads this) and only spent $130 (while someone was "considering" a heater system and 3 other being helped for "free" water tests). At this point, I look forward to shopping elsewhere... Overall, until today, service was cool.. Easy-breezey. As a farewell, I will average today's 1 star with the prior 5 stars, for a flat average of 3. UPDATE/EDIT: Forgot to add, I've got a bad back and hip, and standing for more than 10 minutes hurts. That's why I had to sit down, while waiting in line. Until today, this was the first time I had carried out my stuff (8 bottles and a jumbo bucket of tabs). I can always count on Leslie's pool supply to have all the items I need to take care of my pool. They have my huge pool cover I have to replace every other year. Every time I call a store they are always helpful in pointing me in the right direction. I just have to say at this last visit, there was a man there who seemed very polite with all the customers and another lady who is just rude. I had called in advanced to doublecheck to see if they have the pool cover in stock so I didn't have a wasted trip. She took my name and number and didn't call me back. I called a neighboring Leslie's pool and have them check their inventory for me. They had one in stock. I went to go pick up the pool cover and the older lady inside was completely rude. She told me I didn't have time to look at the inventory. However the other younger lady had no problem checking stock for my pool cover and bringing it to the front, ringing me up and even carried it out for me. I don't know if the older lady had a bad day or not but it was really offputting. read more

Then I thought I'd just drive down to get it and browse some other items. I got to the store and the guy said "uh, we don't carry those". Six weeks ago I hired Leslie's and showed them the photo of the system alarm on the Pentair Intellichem system. The tech came out a week or so later and said I need to buy a new salt cell and two new sensors. Parts took over a week to arrive and I paid over 1100 and had it installed and left but the "no flow, check pumps, etc" alarm light was still on and system still not producing chlorine. Showed Leslie's a new photo of same alarm. Leslie's said they'd send a tech to fix the "no flow" alarm issue. Today is about Six weeks later and the tech came out today (alarm light on) and said "your low on chlorine " and left (alarm light still on) . I had spoken to him personally on the phone and told him specifically about the "no flow" system alarm. Clearly it's low on chlorine, that's why the alarm light is on. Leslie's said they will call and see if they can get a tech to come out to look at it. I'm running out of hope and money. read more

I don't go Leslie's that often because we have a very good pool man that keeps our pool perfect year round. However, I have bought a few big items here, like our Polaris robotic pool cleaner. It was about $1,100 a few years ago. Recently I was getting an error message on the unit, so I brought it in Demonte, store manager, to take a look. He is pretty much and expert on the robotic units. The reason I am giving the store 5 stars is not because this Leslie's a so much better than any other in the franchise....I'm giving it because Demonte provided exception customer service. My cleaner was out of warranty by about 6 months and he honored the warranty and replaced the control unit, the cord and the motor...those parts would have cost about a $1000, but I was charged $0. He did not have to do this, but he know it was they right thing to do. After you spend $1,100 on an item like this and it fails ofter 2.5 years, you can't help but feel like your've been taken advantage of. When you spend that kind of money you expect a quality product, not one that fails after a few years. The cleaner does an AMAZING job cleaning the pool, and when I need a new one I will defiantly being getting from the Leslie's....Thank you Demonte, the pool cleaner is back working like the day I bought it! read more

Being a new pool owner I'm trying to learn how to maintain my pool. I've come in 3 different times and been told that I'm doing things completely wrong and I'm going to damage my pool and equipment. Here's the thing.... I'm following the directions of the last person I spoke with at Leslie's. it is incredibly frustrating coming here. Each time I come I get completely different and opposite information from the previous trip. It's starting to make me think that these people are just guessing what to do and have no actual idea how to maintain a pool. All this place is good for is buying supplies and nothing else. Checking up on the efficiency of my pool service company! I was concerned my pool care company wasn't properly taking care of my pool. I wasn't sure how to test my pool, nor did I have the supplies to do it. I called Leslie's and I spoke to a nice young man about how to go about testing my pool. He informed me that Leslie provides a free service and will test your pool water for free. Next, he gave me instructions on how to take the sample and to bring it in. The next morning I brought in my sample and was helped by Brandon. He did a number of tests on my pool water sample and then provided me with a handout indicating my levels. In addition, he explained what each one meant. I was happy to find out that my levels are where they should be! I will definitely be back to Leslie's Spa and Pool for all of my future pool needs. Came into Leslie's today to get my pool water checked and there were only 4 people in the store, 2 doing purchases and getting water checked. There was 1 kid working the counter. Oh and the phone was ringing too. He was working at a moderate pace, but definitely was not in any rush to get people out the door. About 20 mins into my wait 3 more staff members come out from the back stock room, but none actually made any attempt to help customers. They quickly disappeared. I was actually shocked that anyone else was working the store. For the number of customers in the store, I should have been out the door in 20 mins, not still waiting. I have to say that I've been in Leslie's Pool Supplies on several occasions, and although the quality of my experience has varied greatly based on the individual representative assisting me, I have experienced consistent top quality service from Mark Nealey. I'm a business owner and a single mom so needless to say, I have very little free time on my hands. When I need something done, I need it to be done accurately and efficiently the first time out of the gate. Mr. Nealey has taught me how to program my pump, assisted me with water testing and repaired my pool sweep. He is always incredibly friendly and professional with his customers and is by far the most knowledgable expert I have come across in the pool and spa industry. To ensure that I have the most efficient and positive experience with each visit, I now call ahead to make sure Mark is available to assist me. I will only go when Mark is available. read more

I am seriously disappointed with the store manager Damante, he is probably the worst manager and person I've ever met. We bought a pretty expensive Energy efficient pool pump, Demante told us that we would be also getting reward cash emailed to us and that we can use it for anything we want. I said I don't need anything right now, he said just save them and don't worry if they expire cause he can still work with them. Anyway, we went into the store and found out that $40 of the coupons had expired the day before. He not only refused to work with them as he told us, he also had an attitude with us. We were buying a patio heater that was a floor model. But because Demante was so rude to us and not willing to even work with us, we walked out of the Douglas blvd location and will never go back into that store. We drove straight to the Standford ranch and fairway location, Phillip the store manager not only helped us get a heater delivered to his store, he also informed us that our reward coupons can be re-issued to us one time a year. He took care of handling that part of the situation. Well now, look at who knows how to be a customer friendly manager plus closed the deal on a patio heater. Think twice before going to the Douglas Blvd store. Not only was Demonte rude, he was going to charge us $259 when we found out the heater was $199. read more

I'd like to report that my unsuccessful product repair and poor customer experience, which I reported in early August 2017, has been remedied by a phone call and product trouble-shooting by the Regional Manager. Sales person would not test my water samples after asking her 3 times on Saturday night at 7:30 pm. I gave her a list of what I wanted, about $60 supplies, but she sold me $170 of unnecessary supplies instead. I brought the supplies back Sunday at 11:30 am to return it, DeMonte would not accept the return or honor the 14 days customer satisfaction guarantee. He says it is their store policy they can't accept any returns after it was sold. He says all returns must go through corporate and I need to call corporate for the returns. I hate poor customer service in the beginning and I hate bad service for return policy that was not honor within 24 hours even though it was in writing they will honor 14 days return guaranteed. read more

I've never been to a Leslie's Pool Supply store until two weeks ago. Demonte was extremely knowledgeable and showed a genuine concern in helping me with my pool's care. I did purchase some needed items, but in no way did I experience any high pressure sales/upsell tactics. I was given honest advice and friendly service. Talk about above and beyond! I went in the store today and not only was the service and attention absolutely amazing, and every single staff person so friendly, bought 3 huge rafts for my pool and they blew them up for me! To go a big step further, not all of these big rafts would fit in my car, so someone drove one over to my house in their truck! I cannot tell you how wonderful they were there today. Customer service like this just doesn't happen these days, and I am beyond thrilled at my rafts and the experience. I will be a loyal customer there from now on!
