My father passed away during Covid and Lesneski then went above and beyond to provide care that would the best one could ever hope for, but they were also for my Grandmother in back in the 90's. Recently I ran into a very difficult situation with a very non-cooperating Cemetery that would leave me completely up in arms and incredibly the opposite of helpful. This is where I experienced even more amazing care by Stephanie and Heather thinking very smartly how to solve a problem that was not even theirs. Without hesitation and with complete un selfishness they stood by me to facilitate a very seemingly impossible situation and I'm forever grateful for their help. The price is fair & communication was great until the day of my fathers funeral. I paid $650 dollars for embalming so we could have a private viewing & they never showed up. We had agreed they would be there by 10am since the mass started at 11am they arrived at 10:50am. The funeral home staff tried to talk the church into allowing us to have the private viewing but they denied. My father was 58 years old & die unexpectedly which caused a lot of emotional & financial stress. I feel the funeral home robbed me from a very special moment I will never get back. read more

My father had prepaid for cremation services in a different part of California. Coincidentally, 2 days before his passing I had prearranged an appointment to transfer all monies to Lesneski mortuary. Michael tried to make it a quick appointment and had me sign "all" paperwork. I paid an additional $1300 to cover the extra costs they charged. My father passed away unexpectedly 2 days later, We thought everything was taken care of and then the barrage of calls began. First they told me I needed to pay a balance of additional costs - which I already paid for with Michael. They called again to ask for death certificate info, which was already on the contract. I asked when he would be cremated. They told me soon and they would call when I could get the ashes. I told them it was clearly stated that was not what my father wanted. I paid for scattering at sea. I thought I finally straightened it out and then several days later got additional calls from Sylvia and Kathy, different people handling our business. They needed more info to complete the cremation they told me. I stopped into their business and showed my contract copies, showed how the info was there already but found Michael missed my signing of one document. After signing I asked if this was it then, can you please proceed now? Kathy said yes. When will his ashes be scattered and where I asked? She promised as soon as another person was in, I would get that info. Now 4 days later they never called, so I called to get an answer. Sylvia told me I owed money and they were missing info! I corrected her and again was told Kathy would call me soon, they need to check my file again. This is a terribly run Mortuary. Short staffed is not an excuse to draw this situation over a 2 week period! Seems one person doesn't know what the other is doing. They can't give any info as to cremation date, scattering or location of where. If you don't want to go through the stress we've experienced during this trying time, don't use Lasneski Mortuary! read more

I would not recommend using Lesneskis. Communication was lacking, details were missed and overall I felt the apathetic attitude of the staff was what made the experience the worst. We were told the death certificate at most should take 2 weeks as there was a holiday and it took 4 weeks. While I know this is partially out of the funeral homes control, some sort of communication on their end about this would have be appreciated. Each time I called to check on this, there wasn't any sympathy or empathy but instead almost annoyance on the staffs part that I was calling to check in. Next, the staff forgot the permit to bury our mom during the graveside so she had to be transported back to the funeral home and then taken back later to be buried. Lastly, the amount of money they charge for a casket its astounding. I was able to find the exact same casket at Costco for $3,000 less than Lesneskis was charging. While I understand this is a business I am ashamed of the way the funeral industry takes advantage of people finically while they are grieving. I would shop around and look elsewhere for funeral services. read more

I have used Lesneski 3 times in the last 2 years. Never thought I would be back so soon but I guess that's how life goes. It's a great place and I feel eternally connected at this point. The staff is great to deal with and they are very friendly. It's history really. They are historic and I can only hope that I go through the doors of Lesneski one day. When my father died I was extremely distraught and at a total loss of what to do. I feel incredibly blessed to have been led to Greg at Lesneski Mortuary. He could not of been nicer or more helpful in guiding me through the process. In addition to addressing my father's arrangements, he was extremely helpful in explaining the available veterans and social security benefits. He took all the time I needed and was really great about explaining different options for my father to me without ever causing me to feel that I was being pushed into anything more expensive. The entire cost was extremely fair and I left feeling extraordinarily cared for. Greg was an angel who helped me through a very sad and difficult time. The thing about memorial services is that one always feels better leaving than when you arrive. I attended a celebration of the life of a dear friend, and this little chapel was just lovely. After the service, there was a light lunch served in a lovely room off to the side of the main chapel. Beautiful stained glass windows. These two new owners went out of their way to see to it that our needs were met. They stayed in constant contact to answer our questions and keep us apprised of details. I know this is crazy to write this since it's been 10 years ago when my father passed. I see there are new owners from the most recent review and hopefully they will continue to respect and be compassionate for the deceased and the grieving family. Our experience in 2008 was the worst. My father died at home and when we called this mortuary around midnight to pick up my father one man came and asked my brother if he could use the sheet under my father and then asked if he could help him to transport my father's body to the gurney. The next day we had a crematory pick him up. We wanted no part of this establishment. The reason I'm writing this after 10 years is because my brother in law just passed and I was there. Forest Lawn sent 2 men in suits who offered sympathy, respect and care for the body and the family. It was beautifully handled. They draped the body in a beautiful cover and then the American flag since he was a veteran and a fireman. They carefully transported his body to the gurney. I was happy to see this, but sad that my father's body was treated with such disrespect by Lesneski. It brought back memories I will never forget. Please new owners of Lesneski treat the deceased and their families with the utmost respect and continue to get 5 stars for each review, not one stars. read more

I highly recommend Lesneski Mortuary. My mother passed away Oct. 26, 2016, survived by my sister and me who live in a different state. Josh went out of his way to help with our arraignments, literally drove to the crematorium before work hours to ensure we had the ashes in time for my mom's wishes to be put in the sea. He made a trip to get her death certificate to us as quickly as possible so we could begin handling the affairs of her estate. My mother passed away suddenly on July 28, 2015. As soon as my family began discussing arrangements, I called Lizzy at Lesneski's Mortuary. She reassured me that she would take excellent care of my beloved mother and I could literally feel her love come through to me on the phone. I wanted my mother to go somewhere that I could trust and that would treat my family with sympathy and respect. Lizzy and Mark Lesneski exceeded my family's expectations with passion, efficiency, kindness, patience, and care. We felt as if we were the only family that she was working with. She worked around the clock and genuinely wanted to make my mother's funeral absolutely beautiful and exactly what my mother would have wanted. She helped guide us through every single decision. She made us aware of decisions that needed to be made that we had never even thought of. She kept us on track with deadlines and with what tasks needed to be executed first. She remained conscious of cost and was incredibly generous with her time. Never once did we feel rushed, taken advantage of, or unimportant. We all felt as if our family was her top priority. The tribute DVD that she created, although heartbreaking to watch, was also the most beautiful tribute to my mother. Lizzy helped us with every single step, from flowers, to music choices, to choice of cemetery, to choosing a reverend, to transportation to the burial......the list goes on and on. I do not know how that wonderful woman does what she does every single day. And at my mother's burial, Lizzy took it upon herself to arrange a releasing of the butterflies - A gift to my family from her and a total surprise to all of us. She must have had 30 - 40 delicate envelopes, each containing a single Monarch Butterfly. As we all simultaneously released our butterflies, we all cried at the beauty of these little creatures decorating my mother's final resting place. I could write a novel about how incredibly special this beautiful, loving, dynamic, gentle, sweet, generous, kind woman is. Many years ago, when my grandmother passed away, my father utilized the services of Lesneski Mortuary as well, and was very happy with how professional the entire staff was. Best review possible for Lesneski. Lizzy is absolutely the best. After Forest Lawn tried screwing us over big time we decided to have a memorial service locally. One call to Lesneski and that's all it took. Lizzy handled everything including transporting my mother-in-law's remains from Forest Lawn in Hollywood Hills to San Clemente, and no trying to sell us or upsell us for things we didn't need. When my Dad passed away in March, I used one of the bigger, better known mortuaries, and was I ever sorry. They treated my family like a business transaction, very cold and distant. And when I picked up my Dad's remains, I was horrified to find a damaged urn. How could they not notice! I felt like they were extremely disrespectful at the worst possible time. So when another family member passed in June, I decided to try someone closer to home, a bit smaller and more intimate. Lesneski did a great job, I couldn't be more pleased.
