Watch out for the horrible and expensive coffee. The food and cooks at SR 84 location are much better. The service is usually friendly and fast, with a few notable exceptions. The food comes out pretty fast and the prices although not cheap are fair if you avoid the coffee, and the baked goods are pricey but usually worth it. How can a restaurant ruin a perfectly good dinner. I asked for pickles and was charged $1.50?for four measly pickles. I really don't care if they were the size of a watering hose, the idea that a restaurant could be so cheap was mind-boggling. When I told the waiter that there is not one restaurant I have ever been to that charged for pickles or anything like that, he told me that was what the owner demanded. . Well, I told the waiter to tell the owner that he had lost two customers and that I would definitely let other people know how inhospitable this restaurant was. I really wanted to like this place. As we sat down we were asked if we knew what we wanted or if we wanted menus. 2 mins later she came asked us if we were ready to order, told her we needed a couple of more minutes, literally two minutes later she asked us again. All this wouldn't matter, the waiter wasn't unpleasant however seemed rushed. I asked her if the biscuits were any good, she totally recommended them so I chose that instead of toast. The breakfast was soon afterwards brought over......were do I start. The coffee, weak and tasteless. My breakfast was served with 3 sausages and hash brown. All served including my eggs cold. Have you ever dipped bread in cold eggs? Needless to say I couldn't stomach it, and the recommended biscuits neither. Not from scratch and not worth it. I left 80% of my food there and when she asked me if I was done, I replied yes she commented on that's why your in shape you don't eat much. I told her to be honest the eggs were cold, she told me well you should of told me right away I would heated them for you. I don't think I'm difficult, nor is it hard to screw up breakfast. A great breakfast both for the food and the service. My corned beef hash was cooked well done and crispy as ordered, the eggs over medium were just right, the wheat toast was hearty and the grits good also. My wife's pancakes were very good as were the scrambled eggs and bacon. The coffee was even good for a non coffee shop. The extra treat was buying a house made eclair to take home from their bakery counter and it is delicious! The service is prompt and efficient and friendly. Party of two. Four booths open at 8 pm on a Sunday. We were told we had to wait for a table and when seated, placed between two parties of two. Literally in between them. I get it, Lesters is a diner... you sit where you can sit... when it's busy... but when I asked if we could have one of the four booths, I was told they had to be saved for larger parties. We stood there for a moment awkwardly and then decided to leave. There was no like hey want to wait for a different table? Want to sit somewhere else? What shit customer service. Too bad. I eat dinner here often with my teenage kids. They have a large menu so its never a problem finding something they like. The staff has always been friendly and attentive, you never have to wait very long to start eating. I like the omelets and the gyros platter. Pretty good food at modest prices. read more

Having spent a few nights here I did some online research to find a good local place with decent prices.I went to Lesters not expecting much and was pleasantly surprised.I have had Breakfast there each morning.Dinner twice and Lunch once.I leave Tommorow and will have Breakfast there again.I always received a warm greeting upon arrival.Service is terrific and food is good,adequate portions and reasonably priced.Leslie is a superb server.I also had other Servers and they are all good.I will definitely return when back in the area. read more

Ok So I've eaten at Lester's other locations on 84 and Coconut Creek. Always great food and service. BUT the new Pompano Location is the WORST! I ordered a chef salad ($11.99) with oil & vinegar dressing. Salad looked good, not really big for a $12 salad though. Problem was the dressing actually. Did you know Lester's (a Greek diner) does not have or use olive oil for anything? They use vegetable oil blend for everything and I could not get olive oil and vinegar for my salad. They don't have it, they don't use it. Who wants yellow vegetable oil "blend" on their salad? I ended up not eating and the waitress said just use one of our other dressings, not realizing I am on a strict diet. She agreed it was dumb not to have olive oil anywhere in the restaurant, and said other people have complained about it too. Upon sending the $12 salad back to the trash, you would think the manager would come over to explain, maybe offer something else, maybe apologize? He was too busy sitting at the counter playing with his phone to come over and apologize, or even have any concern that a customer was unhappy with the food. Nope Phone more important than pleasing customers. He looked over a few times to see that I was just sitting there watching my girlfriend eat and didn't care. Maybe since I didn't eat you would take my 2/3 full glass of soda off the bill to try to be nice? Something? Entice me into coming back? Nope! Turkey club sandwich and 2 sodas was $17.00. Even as I paid the check I thought maybe he could get his butt off the stool and say something when I was telling the cashier how displeased I was when paying, since he was 5 feet away. Nope Phone more important than customers. Manager never said a word to me. If your on a low sugar diet, you don't want the dressings loaded with sugar and corn syrup, you want plain old oil and vinegar. Not much to ask for! A Greek diner should have olive oil. My girlfriend ate half her sandwich and didn't feel well, so we ended up taking half home. She ended up getting sick when we got home. When I looked at what was left of her sandwich the turkey was like slimy. The mayo they put on covered up the turkey, so it didn't look bad, but when you felt the turkey it seemed like it may not have been bad yet, but it was really, really close. Something made my girlfriend sick. That's all we had to eat all day. What a way to ruin your day! It was an awful experience and I won't go back. I would not recommend this particular location to anyone. Friendly staff, but bad food & poor management, who don't care about their customers. read more

Seriously the best diner in town! The staff is wonderful, the food amazing and the diner is always so clean. I have gone there every other week for almost a year and never had a bad meal or bad service ever! And today out of the blue Antonio gave us a free meal just to say thank you for always coming to his restaurant! Pretty nice place, kinda reminds me of a diner in New York. Had a meatloaf sandwich. Very dry. I went by myself I guess if you aren't 55+ the treatment is not as warm but it's ok I was on my phone either way. The sandwich was dry, and it tasted funny. The fries were awesome. I also had a milkshake and it's made with milk and chocolate syrup instead of ice cream, so to me it was bland and sugarless. It's a nice place but I'll stick to other places for the time being. Have been a regular customer since this location opened. It has been a favorite breakfast place of ours, sometimes stopping in for the delicious desserts. We NEVER had a complaint about anything. But yesterday is one of the WORST restaurant experiences I have ever had!! The waitress Samantha was very pleasant, very attentive. I was enjoying my french toast & then found a HAIR in my food! I told the waitress & she brought a new plate out. Then when we were almost finished my son discovered a HAIR in his pancake! So we told the waitress. The owner came by & asked me what happened & I told him & then he just walked away. So wondering what is going on bc now my stomach has really turned after discovering hair in both our food! Then he returns & says "Weren't you in here last week & you said the same thing???" I was so taken aback at the question that implies I do this regularly!! I said I was here last week but no never complained about hair. He replied "a waitress said you did that" & he just rudely walked away agsin!!! I went to the cashier & asked to see him. And asked why he was implying me of something dishonest. He said bc a waitress told him that. He had a complete awful attitude. He told the cashier charge me for the drinks. I paid & but left $5.00 tip for the waitress bc it wasn't her fault. But I will NEVER BE BACK bc the owner's insult of implying that I was lying & trying to cheat him instead of apologizing & trying to correct the problem he made the experience worse. I have never been treated so rudely by a restaurant owner in my life!!! This is awful that a business owner's response to a regular customer was one of insult & distrust. The service was non-existent. Since I wasn't very hungry I just ordered a croissant and fruit salad. Half the fruit salad was overripe and the portion was very small. I had three to five bites but did not eat the rest because it tasted fake almost and just horrible. It tasted like it came from a can filled with sugar syrup. The croissant, she didn't ask me if I wanted it toasted or anything. So I received a half ass croissant, I figure I could have been warned. The waitress spoke about 6 words our whole interaction. The croissant was room temperature and hard. Not fluffy and warm. I ate as much as I could. I just don't understand how you could get two simple things wrong like fruit salad and croissant. I didn't ask for much! And I guess I didn't receive much! Haha. My companion ate a salad, which the lettuce was old and the satisfaction was mediocre. Empty except for one couple and they wanted to seat us right behind them. Kind of rude I thought space us out a little geez. Strange layout. Seats/tables so close the people behind you in the booth are super close it was weird like you can hear everything like they are part of your group.I never really noticed this at any other place before! Then as more people came in they like crammed us all in the same section like all right next to each other. Again it was so noticeable here for some reason. Food average kind of bland. Burnt toast. Atmosphere sucks. It was freezing cold all 4 of us felt cold. Bright lights some blocking tv's sucky seats and service not great. Staff not very friendly even the cashier not very nice. Prefer the location on State rd. 84 much better or Moonlight Diner is way better. Not enjoyable. Prices a bit high for what you get. Really have no desire to go back prefer other places for a diner even Denny's is better. read more
