I made a few calls, and settled on Matt and his company. At first, pricing for this sort of system surprised me, but once I saw how much work is involved, the artistry of deciding which type of light to place where (even sinking one light into my yard for maximum WOW factor lighting up my Cypress trees), the attention to detail and complexity of running (and completely hiding) all wiring, I was thrilled to pay the price. This has TRANSFORMED my home from 'meh' to 'wowie zowie'! My exterior just pops the second the AUTOMATED SYSTEM automatically lights up as soon as the sun begins to set. And of course, I can easily control them from my phone! It's been two years since install, and I love it everyday. Then, I experienced an electrical issue NOT related to the lighting system, but that affected it. Matt came by, diagnosed the issue, spent an hour replacing an electrical box, and voila, all is well again. The quote was pretty high for (1) connecting a hall LED light that was already purchased and (2) changing a motion detection light switch to a normal flip switch (which I did not have the parts for). When the technician arrived, he informed me that the quoted price $350 was for only one of the items. He wasn't aware of the additional repair and would normally have to charge me $175 but would give me a discount and only charge $125. So a total of $475 for less than an hours work. I'm buying a new home that needs a new breaker box, canned lights and additional plugs installed. I can't give them that work because I can't imagine what charges/up-charges I'd be looking at! Yikes!

I told Jody I needed a Tesla Wall Mounted into the garage. it was a complicated process because of old panels but the work around was to make a sub panel dedicated to the EV Charger. I asked if he can slide me in his busy schedule rather than waiting a week. He asked why I was in a hurry to get it done and I told him "I HATE CHARGING AT SUPER CHARGERS and I'm off on Thursday" .... We were able to park pretty close this time around, and it was not too hard to get around by foot. The sidewalks seem to have somehow gotten smaller than what I remembered and it was muddy after rain, so it's a bit difficult as a big group going through (we had a group of 6). Most houses had their lights up and running. Part of the magic in my memory of visiting this area in previous years was seeing people hanging out in their driveways and on their porches, with some selling/giving away refreshments. Not a lot of that tonight, probably due to it being close to Christmas already. Otherwise, the people that we did meet and pass by were very friendly! Otherwise, a good variety of decorations and houses to look at! Seems like there are more houses than usual with their lights off, probably because they were out of town, but it would have been nice to leave it on a timer for the rest of us still in town. But at the zero cost to us to view? I can't complain too much-- always a nice time here in Sleepy Hollow.
